I have lg g4 indian Version H818N. I have bought it recently. Now the issue is with white balance of manual camera mode. When I change white balance in the manual mode, it suddenly shows green tint and when I finally click it, the green tint becomes more visible in the final image. Now, when I keep white balance auto then there is no problem. If auto white balance detect the scene as 4800k, I change the white balance bar to 4900k/4700k and bring it back to 4800k and keep it 4800k myself, the green tint comes up (all the other settings remain same, I am only changing white balance bar). I have tried everything but nothing seems to work.
I went to nearby lg service centre, the guy over there had another fresh lg g4 with him. When done on that cell, same problem occurs. Earlier, I thought it's on my phone only.
Post photos with and without this green tint of the same scene.

Try leaving a space between first letter and second letter of url link

My thought was he had not used a high enough WB to which his reply is below.
See, I want you to understand what I do. First I point my camera at a particular scene with auto white balance. Then, I read the value of white balance camera has detected say 4000k. Now for the same scene, in the very next second, I manually change white balance green tint appears. Doesn't matter whether am at 2000k or 6000k the green tint is always there. Even when I do 4000k by myself for that particular scene right after taking the shot with auto wb, the tint appears. The pic does get cooler or warmer but the tint is always present and is more visible on white backgrounds. In the pics I posted here, wb is same in both the pics but there's a difference because in one pic camera detected it as 4000k and in next pic I manually did 4000k.

Which version of android are you on ? latest v20d MM.
Can't seem to reproduce this problem on my H818N still on Lollipop V10L
First shot is in manual with auto everything and noted auto WB chose 4800K. Just love how it tells you what its thinking

The light on the wall is from four fluorescent daylight tubes. Slightly more yellow than it appears to my eyes. Guess the right colour would be lower to mid 5000K.

I am using 6.0 V20c-IND-XX. By what I can see, Yours appears to be fine. Do you suggest me to reset the phone once? Will that help?
But the scenario is that when I visited lg service centre, there was a g4 there which had bootloop issue and had it motherboard changed. Even that phone was same as mine. Green tint when you just tickle your white valance yourself. I thought if everyone had this problem, it would have taken over Internet by storm specially here on xda. But I found nothing anywhere regarding this.
Do you notice the green tint happening with others types of light. Say if you tried the same with natural light only does it happen too ?
You can try the v10 camera. I think the stills manual camera works in MM, it will FC on LL.
Manual controls in video now. V3 should work on MM. It currently does not save to sd card only internal. You can try to play with manual WB in video and maybe this will help to understand better what the problem is.

I installed v4 of it. The problem is still there. When the sun is strong, The tint is not visible. In artificial light it is visible almost in every scene. I have also observed that my display alsoo has a greenish tint. Whites look bit greenish. I don't know that to do. I am just glad the auto wb in this cell works like charm in almost every scene.

That's the baffling bit. If it did not work in auto at least we could say there is a hardware fault with the camera. But it only gets it wrong in manual, that too manual WB.
Which suggests some sort of software fault.
Try clearing cache & data for the stock camera in settings - apps.
Then restart the device. long press, Switch off. Then switch on.
How long have you had the device btw ? is this green tine that happened suddenly or always been the case.
Did that twice, still the same. Device is only a week old. Discovered this problem on 2nd day.
Ask the seller for a replacement.
What are the first 3 digits of the serial # ?
Its 602! But what do I say to him if the other cell is having the same problem? That's why I went to the service centre and ask the guy there. The other g4 had same problem. I thought it should be in every g4.
It's not there in other G4's. And it should not be on yours either. Show them the photos i posted.
In the service centre first thing they will do is factory reset. So maybe you can try that now and see if it fixes anything.
I find it surprising that a bug might have potentially crept in here when there was none earlier.
This is one of those things most will not notice if they use auto all the time.

In auto wb works fine.
When you go to manual and change the wb a little it produces a green tint. See post #5.

Don't go to the service centre just yet.
if you bought online, then you need to find a local LG dealer that has a G4 on display. Go to the shop and take a few shots with your camera and the store camera. This will give you plenty of samples to make the case.
Then ask the guy in the shop to refer you to his lead. Explain the problem to the lead. Does not matter at this point where you bought it, point is it is an LG product and you have a camera that is not performing as expected.
Ask them what to do next.
if the lead isn't helpful, ask to talk to his boss until you find someone that can back you when you go the service centre.
This way if the service centre refuses or gives an excuse you have somebody higher up in the company to help you. It might even take somebody in the headoffice in Delhi to sort it out.
..or it could be straightforward with no hassle
For me, if you are in manual mode, make sure to reput white balance in auto, sometime it changes, that's why in a lot of reviews, they said LG G4 in white balance sucks, but it's a little bug, just press auto white balance again. Actually the G4's has the best white balance especially at night, thanks to the Color Spectrum sensor.
It's not a big deal.
So according to you, every g4 manual white balance mode has this problem? And we should not manually change the whire balance and leave it to auto all the time?
Every G4 has this problem, yeah, but in manual mode, but just click on auto for the white balance, don't touch ISO or shutter speed, just repress on auto for the white balance to make sure.

I'm at a lost and have checked through other threads/posts and can't find anything. I have the HTC Tilt 2 with factory ROM and when I take pictures in any mode, they show up in all plaid color variations. On the preview TF3 screen they sometimes show up plaid, on the album preview screen with small tabs the pictures are normal but when you click to make it bigger and scroll through them, it's back to plaid again! The pictures I had and imported show up fine but the ones I take now I can barely view. I had a camera tweak installed for more options but took it off just in case. It does it with or without the tweak installed. Any other instances of this out there or can anyone give help, ideas, thoughts or tweak links to fix? Thanks!

What is it:
This is a quick extension I coded up to turn XDA threads into an image gallery. The extension button will enable when you're on a topic that it is able to translate, clicking it will open a new tab that dynamically fetches images as your scroll down. Keep in mind this is an Alpha, did it in one day, so it may ( read "most likely" ) will have problems. Its great on those "Post your screenshots" ( wallpapers, cases, whatever ) type threads.
Permissions:
- "Access your data on forum.xda-developers.com" - This is to fetch images from the forum, I haven't messed around with removing it since I was just using this personally but decided to release to you. Promise I don't care, nor gather, anything about what you do on XDA.
- "Access your tabs and browsing activity" - This is to detect when you switch between tabs and enable/disable the extension button. Also I do have this hooked into Google Analytics now, but I only gather extension page views to see what's being used. In the future I'll be hooking it into events as I add features( if it's popular enough ) to decide where to put my efforts. No personal information is collected.
- "Storage": Allow extension to save Extension Settings.
How to Install:

Reporting Bugs:

Currently the extension will start showing images from the forum page you launched it from. Going to implement a way to jump to the beginning or specific page.
Implement scrolling upwards to load the previous pages images, this is needed for the next item.
Lots more ideas for "community" type features But gotta get the basics hammered down first!

New Extension Settings page, styled to blend in and match chromes style for settings.
Setting to adjust the minimum number of images to fetch( Careful here as it wont render any images until it finds at least this number, could take awhile if you try and use on a thread that doesn't have many images ).
Setting to turn on debug mode ( Will show logging in the Chrome console. NOTE: I'd leave this disabled unless you need to troubleshoot an issue as it could slow down logic a bit )

Lots of fixes and enhancements in this one.
First off, thanks to Pooley! He is an awesome guy, and very talented. Thanks to him with have a great, professional looking icon!
Aspect ratio is now respected
Added image zoom capability
Now identify images with broken links and shows in small window( as to not break scrolling functionality for now )
Images should also layout nicely in a column format
Fixed quite a few bugs( hopefully without creating new ones )
Hmmm... seems like there should be more, but I'm too lazy to look at my commit log, so just check it out

Didn't use anything that would exclude Linux, I'll have to look into that.
Been awhile since I updated this, but did a complete rewrite of the extension, should now be working much better. Replaced attachment with new extension and added changelog in the OP.

It doesn't work if the page contains a gif. But gifs are shown in the gallery though.
Example: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=38762538#post38762538. And i think sometimes it also happens if a gif is present in a user's signature.

Interesting. It's a weather app, for those who don't want to search. It's great eye candy, basically an old-school thermometer showing the current temp, and that will take you to a full weather report in the browser.. However, it thinks I'm in the Canary Islands, and if I tell it to locate me, it thinks Pennsylvania (try Georgia). When I selected my location manually, it didn't change the location on the edge panel, which still showed the current temp in the Canary Islands.
Needs work, but a good start.

1. option to change the background or transparency. White bkgn looks terrible.
2. The color of the mercury instead of lime green, why not RED or other colors.

The location used to calculate weather forecasts has nothing to do with Samsung...

Well, I wouldn't really think of it as playing a game, I just figured, since I can download it from the Galaxy App store, which is run by Samsung, that the app/panel would have been vetted more before beng released there. I threw Steve Jobs in there because I was under the impression (maybe misconception...) that Apple had strict guidelines and standards about products they sold at the Istore. Presumably something this egregious would not happen with an app I would purchase from them. Then again, remember, Apple Gripgate? (had to hold the phone a certain way or you could drop calls- for awhile I think it was the users fault till it was finally fixed!) or, maybe a year or so ago they messed up their release of their maps... Nobody's prefect!
Anyways, I think you ask an excellent question about whether Steve Jobs wold have released the 5.5" iphone. We'll never know for sure but, then again, based on sales they are doing something right from a buisness sense!
You are absolutely right. Apple have very strict guidelines and approval process before an app is made available in the app store.
This is a fair contrast to the Google Play Store and Samsung's own App Store where developers are free to develop and upload apps, though these may be subsequently removed if they are found to violate the developers terms and conditions. I don't know if Apple would actually test for bugs like in this situation as opposed to just check that it doesn't attempt to replicate any of Apple's own functionality or do anything useful.
Personally I far prefer Google/Samsung's approach rather than the Apple death grip! For example, Apple have only just over the last few months allowed custom keyboards to be used on an iPhone. Before that, you literally had no alternative but to use Apple's keyboard. No options or choices. How is that beneficial to the user? My absolute all-time favourite smart-phone app still remains the SwiftKey keyboard - it just makes typing on my phone (which I do a lot) a convenience rather than a chore. It improves my typing speed and with near 100% accuracy auto-corrects my typing errors into the word I intended (without any of those embarrassing auto-correct errors). Apparently Apple gave you a keyboard so they want you to use it. But we digress.

Hi there, sure you can change the metric value. There is an app (Gismeteo) that installs on your Phone. That's where you set your location (or manually, or by GPS), and you can change the language (English or Russian or Polish, I think...), the Temperature (Celcius or Fahrenheit), Distance (km or miles), Wind speed (m/s r km/h) and pressure (mmHg or gPa). Do any of you know where Belgium is? Well, it finds a tiny place IN Belgium, so I think that it must be able to find places in a much larger country. So just activate the GPS, then go to the App of Gismeteo on your Phone (the blue drop of water) and when it opens it shows a place on top of the page. If that's not the right place, click on the left of the wrong place, it opens "Locality" with a search window. on the top left you can click so that it will locate where you are by gps, or type the location in the search window and hit enter. Make sure your GPS is on. If it doesn't find the right place, enter the right place in the grey window "Locality". Then it should find you. It does not locate me with the auto locate function. I live in Colonial Heights, Virginia USA. I find this to be non functional. I could understand if it is slightly off by a town or something. But this is no where close.

Also the Edge panel does not work. I set my favorite location to my city as you can see, but the Edge panel does not say the correct temp.
Bottom line be glad this app was free. It doesn't work as advertised.
I had tried it before and just installed it again, I does work for me, it could locate me exactly and I could change to Celsius with no problem. All I did was install the app from Manage Panels open it, let it find my location, select Celsius from settings and finally enabled it. I do notice that the bar changes it's color according to the temperature I guess. I have 19 degree Celsius right not and the bar is yellow. In the above picture the bar is blue because it is colder. My version of the Gismeteo app is 1.0.9 btw.

Why would you want to edit that amount of photo's at once? Thats really unprofessional in my opinion. Simply said, not every photo is exactly the same, no matter in what kind of condition. May there's a small difference in the darks, white's, colors, balance etc... and you are talking about 100+ photo's. The result of editing them all at once with the same settings and chances won't give you good results.

I took overall 130 night sky (stars) shots with 30 second of shutter speed. Now i need to change detail of pictures in order to get good results. Then, i will make a timeplase video with these pictures.

My opinion still stays the same, unprofessional and it won't give you the best result. I understand you want to keep the looks of your photo's as much as the same as the others but even in dark conditions the photo's aren't exactly the same and giving all the photo's the same chances won't look as good as it could for a time-laps video or just as a picture. I am a photographer so maybe I take it a bit to serious in your eyes, so i will keep it by this. I hope some one else gives you a hint for an app you could use because I honestly don't know an app or program that can edit that amount of photo's at once, simply because I never had and wanted to.

You are photographer but u miss something. LG G4 supports raw photo capture. I took all the pictures on JPEG mode not on raw mode (just for test) then i combined all 130 pictures with a timelapse app on android. The result was amazing without editing photos. I will share video when i finish with editing and u will see what can G4's camera do. It is a sample video of timelapse that one guy shared

So today i made several posts and topics, and i noticed that when it's not a small amount of text, it cannot be posted without a workaround.
This error will appear: "Oops! We broke the matrix. Someone call Neo!" and it tells me to look in the console for more details. If i look there, it turns out to be an 403 Forbidden without any other useful details provided

First make a smaller post (so you cut down your text, and save the rest that is 'too long' according to the bug) and then once posted, edit it. Add the missed text while editing, and click Save.. that will work without errors.

What I usually do is write all my stuff out before hand on a text file, then copy pasta. It is much more efficient!

Yes, now they exist, because i used the workaround of first shortening it, and later editing back in the text i cut from it, to avoid the error while initially posting it. And certainly i had all text in my editor and then respectively the "Post thread" and "Post reply" buttons gave me the error, if that's what you meant.
The issue really looks like a 'character limit', but in a way of a bug. It's not like it says "Too many characters" or anything, lol. But still, 403 means the server refuses it.

You don't believe me, i also said it replying to the PM: im sure about my case, my eyes dont lie haha. I mean, the text editor was filled with content that i intended to post, and it just refused to post it (with that error) unless i made it shorter, and then i could edit it in later.

I think your error logs are giving you the wrong impression, like the bug causes them to be limited as well? So it like indicates there was no content, as the bug make the content non-transmittable in the first place?
Did anyone else face this issue, when making posts & topics that aren't small? Like the size of my example topics that required the workaround to post

I'll do some experimenting with the problem you've had. I'm not sure if it's a character limit or maybe the range of mixed content you have (links, code etc).
I've not had reports of this from other people though.
Did you say you type it up in another app then copy paste to XDA?

It wasn't me who mentioned typing it up in another app.. that was jenneh. I don't know if maybe he faces the same issue (or various), so that he resorted to that
I wrote the content entirely in XDA's text editor.. when it comes to mixed content, all i did was:
- Have cursive and non-cursive text combined
- Have links (added through the XDA editor link button)
- Have varying text sizes, with size selected through the XDA editor
But when it comes to the last point, yes i did copypaste content from other locations in my text/other posts on XDA forums.. not to use it at all, but to work around a font size bug that also exists: see Issue: cannot select original font size, after changing it once in the editor purely for it to inherit the size of the copied text (which was original size). So it was to use the workaround, and then remove the copied text again. I doubt this step was involved though
Also, if it's content, it's weird that you can edit it in afterwards, but not post it right away. I'd figure that guide writers & release topic starters are the first ones to run into this (if the issue is triggered by an invisible, non intended character limit through a bug). Maybe no one reported it because large posts aren't so common, and then if they want to, they will simply spend half a minute to perform the "Editing it in" workaround rather than reporting it. It's a simple workaround because editing in lets you preserve the layout & style if you're copying it directly from another tab, the tab in which you failed to submit the post. So i figure people duplicate the tab once they run into the issue, post it in the new tab with only like 30% of content size, and then edit it in from the original tab. Ok, well there could be several possibilities.
I have increased the Character limit from 60000 to 80000
There are several other things that can prevent posting.
Minimum 3 minutes between discussion posts
min 30 seconds between regular posts
max 20 messages per page
40 images per page
and it was 5 media embeds per page now 10.
There is also a screening for certain words and phrases and repetitions of some words/phrases.
The reason splitting posts sometimes works is because the system screens the part you are just about to post not the combination of the existing part plus the new part. So for things like repeated text, links etc., it can sometimes circumvent the standard limits.
On the character limit above (which I've increased), it does count unseen background code as characters. Sometimes if text is copied from other Apps it copies huge amounts of invisible and unused code which can gobble up the character limit.

The site glitch's or freezes occasionally. Lol, I attribute it to the relentless site maintenance being preformed.
The old problem of losing an entire post while composing it is gone, yay!

Site maintenance happens very often, of late. I don't know why but it is being looked into.
Quite probably, the issue is not on your side. When you have the issue, just wait for a couple of minutes and refresh the page. You should be good to go.

Thanks for the information. I was going crazy with this It happens often but usually it gets fixed in few minutes as you said, sometimes the site is accessible from different browser.

Pretty obvious. No big deal unless you are punching the post button, then bad things sometimes happen
That's annoying, but the site is better then before about losing data while writing a post; auto backup seems to work but it's a bit twitchy.

Thank you for the effort. Whatever magic you did, it has resolved the issues including the site maintenance issues. Yesterday and today it has been trouble-free.
