Got the Hyperion last week from Amazon and overall I was impressed with its initial performance. It was a huge boost from the oem battery as I didn't have to recharge my phone at all during the day.
My only concern is that I've noticed I haven't been seeing similar numbers as others have mentioned with their Hyperion. I mean, I'm not getting 24+ hrs of use with 8 hrs of on screen time. I'll take a photo next time when its at its lowest charge but I am averaging about 5-6 hrs of on screen time, and thats with basic use, surfing the web, texting, couple phone calls, no games or movies, wifi/gps/sync on, and 30% brightness, non rooted as well.
Does anyone else feel their Hyperion isn't performing as others have claimed?

24+ hours with 8+ hours screen is is down right impossible. The reason people get extended batteries is because they want more than the stocks screen time for 4-5 hours without worrying about their phone dying.
Not really... With the correct kernel and ROM I can push that if not surpass it. Paranoid 2.51 leankernel 1.6 been home all day from the storm... That's 3 hours 12 mins screen on time @ 67% juice left.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
For me, not so much. Today for an example, I got a little over 12 hrs until I hit the 5% mark with almost 6 hours of screen on time. Home all day too with wifi on and screen brightness at 30%.
One thing I did notice though is that the "sdcard" used 1 hr and 17 mins of the battery. I've never even seen the sdcard on the activity list before, this is the 2nd time I've seen it since installing the Hyperion battery. Hmm what could it be?
I almost made it.. I'm running Aokp build 4. Not sure what the kernel is.
Plus the batteries have to go through a charging period... I noticed the first day it lasted a long time almost 2 days. (1day22hrs)I forget what the screen on time.

No, it is very possible, as I get that all the time on my hyperion.

Have you looked at any wakelocks your getting with better battery stats? That is pretty bad for the 4200 batt. Did you do the charging cycles that were detailed in the user manual?
Hey I was just passing by and reading threads, although I don't have this battery, a very possible reason that your battery life might not be as good is that you're still on stock. Notice everyone else who posted is on a custom rom + kernel. The GS3 stock roms are nice but come very bloated with apps. I read somewhere that on stock when you start up your phone, by default it starts a very impressively high number of processes ~50ish. I could be wrong on that but yeah a bloated stock rom MIGHT be the problem. Just my thought.

No I have not tried that app yet.
And yes I did follow the initial charging instructions as well.
It has to be something with the phone because even with the stock battery I had terrible performance, it'd last me only 3 hrs of on screen time where I've heard most users receive around 5.
He is my cpu time, it seems normal since the phone is spent most of its time in deep sleep.
Good at first/No so good after a couple months?
I havce the Hyperion, and have experienced close to 48 hours of life, albeit with very little use. With moderate use, I've experienced 30 hours. My screen time never surpasses 3 hours per day.
A few weeks ago I installed the Serenity 1.1 ROM. I have not been able to get more than 15 hours with that ROM.
This morning, I put in my stock battery, and it has been in for 9 hours so far, and is currently at 83%. I did a reboot about 4 hours ago, so don't have accurate screen-on stats. But I'm never at 83% this time of day with the Hyperion.
ANyone else experience good, then later, poor performance from this battery?
In the beginning I head awesome battery power. Now the battery is horrible I only get 2 hours screen time at 65 percent. Any ideas? Also undervolted and running 1.8mhz but battery still runs hot.

Mine has. Sure I have a custom Rom (wanam )but I've gone from averaging 12hours first month to about 8-9 now.
How bout you all?
You've probably installed something that's chewing battery up
Yep I still get 19 hours with 6 screen on time
Sent from my GT-N7100
I don't get 6 hours of screen time, but I do always get between 4-5 (since day 1) and that's with all the IM apps I have (everything I do is over the radio).
I did notice that the first day I didn't have anything installed I was going to get crazy hours! Because everything I did was in the menu, play around with options, etc etc.
But after installing ALL my apps, my battery life has settled down on with WIFI & 3G on most of the day, and tons of instant messaging over various apps between 4-5 hours of screen time average.
It depends on your apps and what's going on with your phone. Your phone should get about 500 charges before getting to 80% charge capacity. The phone hasn't been out that long to get to 90%!
I'd suggest looking at your apps (not the battery consumption list, because it could be a combo of TONS of apps that do very little and don't show up on your battery list).
Download "Carat" from the play store, run it and give it a few hours to a day. It'll tell you exactly what's going on.
Greetings,
Mine got better after updated to official 4.1.2 ( Poland version ).
I am very satisfied with battery life .
Vatis
If anything mine has gotten better as I've weeded out the apps that were keeping it awake. Easily going from 6 am to 10 pm, 5+ hours of screen time, and still have 30-40% battery left.
i got 23h total on with almost 9 hours screen on, this was on heavy usage although with powersaver on, lowest brightness and most of my work involved the screen being aorund 60% black so it helped a lot
Has anyone got a decent case with a battery in it?
as the nexus 5 does seem to have a not too good battery life.
(considering this device)
Seriously? I'm getting 14 to 16 hours with 6+ hours screen on time. It's not bad if you ask me.

I agree. I'm getting better battery life than any phone I have owned, without rooting and messing with cpu governors, or adding an unwieldy 3000+ mah aftermarket battery.

wow
from what I'v heard in reviews its not great, was about 5 reviews.
hmmm, Ill look into that a bit more
also geekphone.com is showing a not too great battery life
No, your not wrong, the phone is going to have less talk time than some of its larger battery packing competitors given the same use, physics works as they say. I'm on the lookout myself but have yet to see anything.
It could could be a software and hardware thing, as samsung does take a big dump on android. Pure android and especially 4.4 theoretically should have a lower power consumption.
how long does it generally last when mid-heavily used?
I can't comment on battery life, but I can tell you you won't be seeing a battery case. Only 2 products sell enough to make it a reasonable expense to develop: The newest iPhone, and the newest Galaxy S.

I disagree, my DHD had quite a few and it didn't have that many sales (probably less than nexus 5 in a month or so)
I'm getting much better battery life than any previous phones I've had. I can squeeze about two full days out of it with about 3-4 hours of screen on time. If I use it a lot (6+ hours screen on) or do battery heavy tasks (play a lot of games, talk on the phone a lot), then it still lasts a full day (from wake up to sleep). Unless you absolutely abhor charging your phone every night, I don't think it's worth the unnecessary bulk of a battery case.

Is this on stock? I understand that diff configs will have diff results. When I go to bed, I usually have about 40% left with 15 hours run time about and 1 hour of screen time. This is with two gmail accounts syncing, facebook and everything on. It's not bad but nowhere near 6 hours of screen time. Especially if I play a game like Asphalt 8. The battery drops like crazy. Not complaining, but I would love to have 6 hours of screen time.
I contacted Mophie to see if they had plans to make a case for the N5. I just got a pretty generic email back but looked like they would be working on something for the N5.

I didn't make it clear enough in my post, but when I said 6 hours of screen on time or battery heavy tasks, I meant one or the other but not both. If I play games or do a lot of battery heavy tasks,t hen it doesn't last anywhere near two days. I might get 6 hours screen on time if I don't play any games, make no phone calls for the day (which is odd, I do admit), and mostly browse the internet, text, view pictures, check facebook, things of that nature. On average, I get anywhere between 2-4 hours screen on time with usually an hour of gaming, mostly texting, browsing, and other small stuff like that. It usually lasts me 2 days. It's not fantastic battery life, but definitely better than my S3 and my Atrix before that.
EDIT: I didn't use my phone much at all today. I've got about 10 minutes of phone calls and an hour of screen on time, 13 hours total, and I'm sitting at 72%. You might want to check what is using the most battery in your battery settings or download an alternate app. Screen is typically using 2 to 3 times more than the next thing under it (which for me is WiFi).
What's it like for you Sprint S6 owners?
I'm struggling here and my S5 was without a doubt wayyyy better... I'm starting to wonder if I have a defective battery to be honest. Averaging like 2 1/2-3 hrs SoT and 16 hrs total time on...
My girlfriend's S6 is going almost 3.5-4 hours SoT. I haven't checked her total time.
I believe she took an update when she first got the phone, she is on 5.0.2, OC9 build.
There is a software update available, but we are hesitant to take it, not knowing if:
1. It will make te batery life better or worse
2. will the tether without root continue to work
Have you taken the latest update?

Read around. There's plenty info out there. Battery discussion only plz n thanks.
I'm on my first day with it, but its definitely a improvement from the GS4 as of late atleast. Im at about 2 Hours screentime and 38% battery, first not even full charge, Started at like 82%.
I did a factory reset earlier in the week and that has seemed to help a TON. 4 hours of SOT and thats with extremely poor signal around home.
Battery is barely acceptable for me. My phone is not rooted. I average between 12-14 hours off charge and average around 3 hrs screen on time give or take a few minutes. I'm a heavy user and use my phone pretty much all day. Saving grace is it charges really fast. Thinking of rooting but not sure there's anything I can do to help the battery life
i have the s6. yeah battery life is poopy but its expected. im struggling cuz idk if i shud switch to the s6 edge. yeah those side displays r cool but im told if that thing drops the wrong way even with a protective case then its bye bye screen. oh decisions decisions
Battery life Here is actually not bad, especially after the Samsung Push update from the Play store. Many tech blogs wrote about this possibly helping the battery life on the S6. I just finished 1 day and 5 hours with 30 percent left, so for me that not bad at all.

Wasn't that high, just under 2hrs. But for me, that's normal..... And I'm totally cool with that. The battery life really ALmost pushed me to the Note 4, UT after all this, I'm here to stay
I am averaging 3 hours 50 mins SOT in my house on wifi all day. It seems to be getting better since the push update.
I've had great battery life with my regular s6 thus far. 30+ hours and 5.5 SOT average. Location off at home, bt off, wifi on, location history off, no samsung/google/sprint apps or features enabled (like s voice), auto brightness, black wallpaper, disabled samsung push, turned off LTE at home, only on CDMA, cant remember what else.
I've seen a lot of people on forums complain their battery for their s6 is bad, but I don't get it?
My battery sucks.. I have gps off, syncs to minimum, all notifications offs, and took the last Samsung update. Still battery life is not the best.
So far today gettings my best screen on time yet.

I wouldn't say my battery life is fantastic, but its certainly better than it was on my S5 when it was either stock or on CM.
I'm in Houston, so I generally have very good signal, but I use it a lot throughout the day. Bluetooth music to and from work, games during the day when I have downtime, some maps usage when I do mobile calls. I take it off the charger around 9am and get home around 630pm with anywhere between 40-60% left. That's with GPS always on (highest location settings), 3 gmails and Facebook synced, screen always on auto, Bluetooth always on and paired to my Moto 360.
Battery FIX:
1. Turn off WIFI calling.
2. Turn off Location History.
The above two changes doubled my battery life. Went from maybe 3 hours Sot and dead in 7 hours, to 5.5 SoT yesterday and still running after 16 hours usage. MAJOR difference. Any my screen stays at or near full brightness.

Automatic Brightness - On
NFC - off
Wifi Calling - off
Wifi always scanning off
Switched to CDMA only. I did have it on LTE for a little bit when I went to the grocery store.
Everything else is on
I am still really surprised at the change in the battery life from when I first got it because I could only get 2 hours SOT for like the first week.

I have dove way deeper into disabling things than just these items and today it looks like I'm going to get around 4 hrs of screen on time. But I've only had the phone for 6 days.
One quick question: In the time you've had it, have you factory reset the phone, rooted, or flashed firmware, or have you just stayed the course and let it settle in? It sounds like I may just need to let it settle before the awesome battery life starts happening.

I factory reset the phone after 3 days of owning it because my battery life was terrible. After I did that I was getting close to 3-3 1/2 hours SOT with the phone which was about what I was getting on my M8. Then all of a sudden it just started getting way better. It might of been that Samsung push update or maybe the battery just needed alot of time to break in. Also i'm not rooted and I haven't flashed any firmware.
Well at least I still have my (shady) sense of humor.
Hey guys.
2 weeks with the Note 10+, 256GB/12GB - Exynos. I keep seeing those wonderful SOT reports. 8 hours, 9 hours, 10 hours! I'm not even talking about those posting screenshots of 12-14 hours...
They all use WQHD. They all use Facebook. They even use youtube and netflix, on wi-fi and on mobile with more than 50% brightness, and they all get at worst 8 hours of Screen on time.
Little me, on the other hand, uses mostly whatsapp and text, reduce his brightness when possible, check for hungry apps all the time, yet even on Airplane mode, I barely get get to 0% with 5 hours of SOT.
What am I missing? What is the magic trick? Is it possible that I'm having some sort of a hardware failure? Bad luck?
Don't get me wrong, 5 hours of sot, compared to my dying and evil LG G4 is still amazing, but I just can't wrap my head around this difference between exactly the same devices, this huge difference.
Let there be light
and sot.
in the same boat as you are my friend.. note 10 + exynos is a ****ter..

Don't worry mate, those 8,9,10 hours of SOT are for people who watch lots of Videos like YouTube etc on their device and seldom use camera or do gaming on their Phone. SOT is very subjective and differs from person to person. I get 5 to 6 hours of SOT myself and is pretty happy with it
As others said it's hard to compare, for example weak cell/wifi signal can discharge battery pretty fast even with screen off. After saying that, you should disable everything you can that you don't use. Also, forget SOT, see how much your phone discharges overnight when it's not in use. For example charge before sleep to 100%, wake up and see what's the charge after 6-8 hours of standby. If it's less than 94-92 %, then you may have rogue app than runs down your battery and finding it and fixing it may help you a lot.

No, it is not
Anything over 5 hours is not that bad imo! However, i would expect that the note 10 plus should easily be hitting 6 hours minimum for the majority of users depending on there usage! I have literally only got my hands on my device today and after about 30 minutes use plus a software update it has dropped just 6%
my .2 cents , if your phone can last long enough for you to achieve what ever you want to do achieve in day and without you running behind a charger then you got yourself a keeper .
so don't worry about SOT , standby time ... use your phone to its fullest extent and enjoy it

Living in a small country, compared to some people who use the same network in the same city (Maybe 5km from each other). Obviously, it's still not a purely scientific comparison, but it's something/
I used to wonder why there was a big difference between my battery performance and the ones I see on the net. Until I went to Taiwan for a vacation. My sucky battery phone then suddenly lasted the whole day. And that was with constant gps usage, constant checking, messaging, googling, etc.
I think the network strength and consistency is the biggest determinant of battery life given the same usage patterns. I live in the Philippines where the signal is not great which is probably why i get a lousy battery life compared to others.
However, the Note 10+ is giving me the best ever battery life ever. Out of all the phones I've owned, this is the only phone to actually surpass the 5 hour screen on time mark.

Signal strength affecting battery life makes sense, I have heard that before, but I have tried going a full day with just Wi-Fi, airport mode and no sim installed, and I got just the same results, so I guess that in my case, it's not related (sadly).
During my normal daily use, at the end of day I end with SOT of 3 to 5 hrs and 65-45% battery left. So absolutely I can get 8-10 hrs and this is with highest screen resolution, 50% brightness, GPS, BT, NFC, AOD and Edge screen on. You may have rogue apps running in the background and using your battery, did you check under settings/device care/ battery what is using your power, even if it's not very accurate, could give you some hints.
I check it constantly, no rogue apps whatsoever. I even did a factory reset, installing only whatsapp and disabling some Samsung apps, yet I still can't reach more than 5 hours of SOT, in almost "lab clean" conditions. Honestly, it's driving me mad.
How much do you loose overnight, when phone is not used at all. It should be no more than 0.5 to 1% per hr. Also force stop whatsup for few hours, maybe is searching and updating too often. I know what you mean, I had a phone couple yrs ago, wouldn't last whole day even if not used, drove me crazy until found out I changed some obscure setting in wifi before and forgot about it, once I reversed that setting phone went back to normal 0.5% per hour (it was discharging 10% per hour even not used before fix).

The Exynos SoC is garbage.
I learned the hard way with the Galaxy S10+. I thought to myself: "I'll buy the Exynos version so I can have an unlocked bootloader and enjoy custom ROM's and all the good stuff!" Little did I know, it's tough to enjoy the good stuff with such crap battery life.
Snapdragon users of the S10+ were reporting amazing battery life, meanwhile I couldn't get 4 hours of SoT with very careful use. I decided not to make the same error with the Note 10+ and ordered it with a Snapdragon SoC. I can happily report 7-8 hours of SoT and it was only getting better. I'm back on the OnePlus 7 Pro because I may return the Note 10+ for the Galaxy Fold, but I am leaning towards keeping it because the camera is so damned good.
Either way, never buy an Exynos phone. I enjoyed my S8+ with the Exynos chipset, but made a grave error with the S10+. Avoid at all costs if you can. If you need the radio bands that only the Exynos version has - look into getting a battery case because you'll need it.
Good luck Exynos users
