Hello all. I bought this radio for my Skoda Fabia. I have a few question. My maxidot screen does not show file names, only track 1, track2, etc...if I use something else, like poweramp, it just shows OTHER MEDIA. Any way of fixing this? Pumpkin support doesn't have a clue.
Also, can I install Malaysk ROM for this radio? Since it has many hardware buttons, will they still work?
Thank you

You need to provide a picture of your system screen to be able say yes or no.
Normally yes, but you never know, since Pumpkin is only a reseller.

Do you tried to enter the Settings, then GPS section, and changing there the associated application?
Which settings do you mean? Android Settings or Device Settings (which are secured by the code)

Android settings and then GPS section
Okay, that might be a possible solution to change the NAV button. But how to change the other buttons?

On my unit I have the following buttons: MENU, DISC, NAVI, DIMM and BAND. I don't know which button can be still redefined, but the only solution (if there is any) I think it could be using a custom ROM.
In my opinion, there should be a configuration file anywhere. But I could not yet find it...
BTW: I have MENU, SETUP, >>|, RADIO, DVD, GPS

So, which other buttons would you like to redefine and with which other features?
I'd like to put a music player on the DVD Button, as I never watch a DVD in my car...

Do you have already installed a custom ROM on your unit? Take a look also in the device's Factory settings with the secure code. Such a redefining should be possible.
No, it's still stock...

OK, then I think that it could be possible only with the custom ROM or by root access.
I'm still on stock ROM too, and I would like to make a complete backup of the original ROM before installing the custom one.
That would be good. But as I'm on root, I should be able to change the necessary configuration files...
How do you managed yo get root access without custom ROM? Which is the exact type of your unit and the MCU version?
I had to sideload some things and install an app to root it - don't know exactly anymore.
Will tell you the MCU later this afternoon

Hi guys,
I would like to know if there's a possibility to display the battery status of a connected Bluetooth device on the Oneplus 3? Natively or via a third party app? Ideally for me, it should work on the stock ROM but if necessary I would flash a custom one if it would only be possible that way.
Thanks in advance :good:

Thanks for the suggestion but it doesn't seem to work with my specific pair of headphones :/ If that means that they don't send battery information to the phone I probably can't get it to work with any solution.

Sorry to hear that.
FWIW after suggesting the app to you, I did try it out. It seemed to work with my pair of blue tooth headphones during the limited time I used it..
Going by the comments about the app in the play store, it looks like the usage is limited based on the manufacturer of the blue tooth device....
Just to close this topic: This feature was released in Open Beta 19 and for me it works great!
how to enable that??? by default its not showing when connected......... im on latest beta

How do you activate it? I have a watch connected and it's not showing anything
I didn't have to activate it. For me it just worked. Your Bluetooth device still has to support sending its battery information to the phone. In this months Open Beta update there were some fixes for this feature. Maybe it works for you now?
Edit: grammar
Aanyone have news of this system?
I want try to root for active some function like play video on auto movements. The video in fact actually autostop when auto is not stop.

Hello,
Bumping this since I'm at same point.
Find the OS must be Linux but nothing else. Would need a firmware to upload to the car which let me exit the MBUX software to check the OS and all files, any clues the readers ?

I think the only way to activate it and bypass some securities is to go through the OBD.
Anyone?

From what I read it is an E-SIM.
Hello guys,
If this Mbux system is the new head unit on the A-Class I can confirm from an inside source that it is Linux indeed.
I cannot say much more since I am not directly involved.
As to eSIM, it most probably have such a thing. At least the previous systems (like the one installed on the E-class) have an eSIM. So I see to reason why this one shouldn't have one too.
All the best!

It an esim like Opel
Anyway to see the e-sim id? Currently in Canada and it appears Mercedes has a deal with AT&T but pricing for Canadian users is ridiculous.
Want to see if I can get it activated with another provider or what potentials options I maybe able to work out as I cannot share data from my phone plan in the car which is also a shame.

I found that screen:11 is what solved my problem. edit the dmcu.ext file and make sure it says screen:11 and put it on the memory card with the MCU and do a MCU update. I see your radio is widescreen like mine and if it uses the 1280x480 resolution like mine but was dim using the screen:10 setting, this should fix it for you. If you cant see your screen because of incorrect screen resolution and have an hdmi out, use an external hdmi display so you can see and get into settings to do mcu update.

Ahh I see. I am not sure what native resolution your screen is. If it’s 1280x720 that setting is screen:12. But be careful setting these resolutions because if it’s wrong one you will get no display. If you have external hdmi out you can use that if you lose video on your screen, otherwise I would confirm with vendor.

Thank you! that worked for me too and fixed the issue where I saw 1 pixel length at the top left flickering and repeating from another location so it was a bit annoying.
It even seems like the refresh rate is better and resolution is so much better, back to normal now. I flashed the MCU with wrong screen size. I was glad I found screen:11 but was reluctant to try other numbers, I was nervous if I wouldnt be able to view it via hdmi from messing around. I resuscitated this unit a few times this week already after killing it. LOL
I was using screen:11 so that is not the right one, yours is
Thanks again!
