You can use TWRP, I strongly recommend that. I think you'd need to use cm's recovery if you want to use cm-updater to automatically install ROM updates. But I think TWRP is the way to go.
After fresh installation i've got my net connection, but after sometimes i was found that my toroplus wouldn't picked up any inet signal, but i can use it flawlessly fine to male a phone call and texting.
Ps: sorry for my screwed english
So stoked to see this, I really appreciate this device getting some love!
I tried out cm-12.1-20160530-NIGHTLY-toroplus yesterday, and CM-wise everything looked great. No stutters at all, and some persistent app crashing I'd been having with CM 11 snapshot M8 went away.
Downside is that I couldn't for the life of me get it to activate on Sprint, via Ting. I even full deactivated it twice, waiting a couple hours and then assigning it a new phone number each time. I had to go back to CM 11 to get the phone side back, so it looks like the radio bits aren't ready yet. Still, great to see an update!

When you went back to CM11 you had to re-provision the phone since you had changed numbers right ? I'm on MM but I'm going to download and install the build you tried . I ran this 5.1 for quite some time and never had a problem You actually shouldn't have even have had to activate . When you changed numbers you definitely lost provisioning and would definitely have had to re-provision . If you are presently activated on CM 11 with GPS , Phone and data all working you should be able to clean flash this and reboot and just skip the activation screens . It's not needed and no need to wait . Just skip through it and it should all still work . Unlike CM 11 CM 12 has never been able to do a hands free or even manual re-provision for me . Just try what I suggested .

I had a working number with CM 11 before I installed the CM 12 build from ClockworkMod Recovery, but I didn't have GPS turned on (I wouldn't have thought it mattered.) Everything went smooth, but I noticed that the signal-strength had an exclamation mark and the phone side wasn't working. I can't remember if it came up with the hands-free dialogs then, or after I tried to reactivate it. I'll give it another go this weekend, thanks again!

@jtdev @musical_chairs I just clean flashed the 05/30/2015 official build . Right off the bat I had telephony and place a couple of calls . I had to finesse it a bit to get 3g going as it switching around several times from LTE/3G etc , after a reboot 3G popped right up and continues to be stable . I tried browsing and all was fine . I've also updated profile and prl successfully under settings/about phone /sprint updates .
Yeah , try it again and good luck on it . I'm on ringplus but 5.1 always worked fine on TING which I used until recently .
If it still doesn't work for you let me know and I can send you something to try which should work .

Yes but you stated you deactivated that number and tried a couple of others . When you deactivated that first number you could not have gotten ting going again without having to reprovision again on CM 11 and you would have lost that first number . There's no way you can change a number on Ting without having to re-provision again and losing that number for good . even restoring a nandroid wouldn't work without it .

Just tried it again twice, I think I almost had it the first time.
Try #1: Turned on all radios in CM 11, rebooted to ClockworkMod Recovery, installed 5/30 nightly and OpenGApps-pico, and it came up in CM 12 with the 3G indicator right away! (Actually after a couple shell crashes.) I then updated profile (still 3G), and then updated PRL. It said the PRL update was successful, but it killed the 3G, nothing I could do to bring it back.
Try #2: Restored CM 11 backup, started over. Same setup sequence as before, no shell crashes this time, but I got the exclamation mark in the signal strength indicator again, and couldn't get 3G going.
I'm restoring CM 11 again now, going to have to put this aside for a while. Thanks for the feedback though, at least I know it's possible!

You probably already know this so keep in mind if your preferred network is set to LTE you will have a 3G showing but no internet even though it's lit up 3G . You must set it to 3G preferred to have connectivity .
try flashing this file from recovery . It's a nice menu letting you pic your provider for ting , ringplus etc . The menu pops open a box so you select your carrier and applies the exact apn you need . I love it . Works great . Works on three sprint devices for me .

Good news everyone! I installed today's daily (cm-12.1-20160606-NIGHTLY-toroplus) and just as I was about to throw in the towel, my 3G indicator came on. It does however take 35+ seconds to go from airplane to 3G, which I can live with, I'm just used to it taking less than 2 seconds.
@Max Frost - I didn't use the utility you suggested, I got cold feet reading the backstory.

What gave you cold feet out of curiosity . It flashes perfect , works perfect so I have no clue and would like to know the deterring factor for future reference . I only suggested it if you could not get it to work . I mostly use it on my other devices to get LTE . I might add I've never needed it to get telephony or 3G with this rom .
So, is this going to be the official thread for the Official CM 13 ROM too? I don't have any issues right now I just want to know where to ask if I do in the future. (I haven't run an official CM ROM in years now.)

Thanks musical_chairs, we already have official CM13 builds .
I think that this topic will be about CM13 (As CM11 few years ago).
I guess this will be the thread for official cm-13.0 now. There is a cm-12.1 snapshot on get.cm, that can be discussed here as well.
charging support on Samsung HDMI dock
Is there a setting that I can change to allow charging from the official Samsung HDMI dock? I've got a pair of toroplus running this official CM13 build (one's snapshot and one's nightly), and neither one will charge while on the dock. The battery gradually depletes over the course of a few weeks, so it must be getting some power, just not enough to maintain a charge.
Both phones charge on their respective docks running stock or running zzpianoman's unified 6.0.1.
The default apn settings cause the phone to get really slow when preferred network was set to LTE/CDMA auto. I digged around the vendor RIL file, I noticed it queries for a numeric field when looking up APNs, I added this field to the apns file and now it doesn't get slow when switching networks.
Manual: Copy this file to /system/etc, go to APN network settings menu and press "Reset to default"
Also, to get LTE working temporarily on CM13, you can use my routefix script from OmniROM thread:

Sorry for the long delay. I inally have everything sorted out and the temperatures finally cooled down enough that the random brownouts have stopped. Lots of new things in this release. I suck with changelogs and the way I built this rom makes it hard to know everything that's changed. I rescripted Maniac103's Defy repo for the Bravo and am now using that as my base. Before I was updating a cloned Quarx CM7 repo with cherrypicks from Maniac's and FuZZ's Defy repos..
Some new features include
Bootmenu Pin Protection
Wifi Calling (untested)
SmartassV2 replaces Smartass, conigure it with smartass's settings in the bootmenu
Voice Commands
More Tablet Mode Features, you'll see them
New FM Radio
Nuance Bluetooth Voice Dialer

Wiping Cache and Wiping Dalvic Cache isn't necessary since I added those commands to the installer script. Adding those commands makes updating simpler, less prone to errors, and less presses of the volume and power buttons.
I need to look in touch recovery and touch bootmenu.

NOTES & BUGS:
I've sometimes had an issue where my pc won't connect to adb since the phone won't give permission. It usually only occurs after the first 2 or 3 boots then magically fixes itself. I've also had usb data tethering fix the adb problem. If you don't use adb on your pc, then this isn't even an issue for you.

CM7 Mods
Just a couple of mods I use with CM7.
Bravia Engine - Sony Image PP engine for sharper images.
Beats Audio - Sony Audio engine with improved bass and treble -- can harm inferior and crappy headphones and speakers (Trust Me).
All the zips are flashable in recovery.
Credits for the zips go to their original makers, which I can't remember since I downloaded them a few months ago and can't find the threads I found them in (somewhere here at xda).
Skeevy your rom is lightning fast! Thanks so much! Thanks for beats audio and bravia zips too!

I use ES file explorer, but basically I use any file manager with root access.
I've been using this one for a few days and haven't found any bugs. Pretty sure this is the most stable rom I've had on my phone.
Another thinh I've noticed is I can't tell if the bravia engine is working. I know it is supposed to produce clearer images, but I don't notice a difference. Oh well, this phone doesn't have a fantastical camera anyway.

I was just thinking of swapping it out with Apoonet's Miui File Explorer -- Free, Root, Advanced Features, Auto-Updates itself, No Crappy Permissions.
Glad to here it works great for more than myself.
The only way I could tell if Bravia was working was I took picture of my dog with the Bravo's camera and dl'd a HD image, started at each of them for minutes on end each, flashed bravia, stared again. They did improve, but not by much and I doubt anyone would notice the difference unless you did the stare test like I did.
thanks skeevy

I have no preference in explorer so whatever you put that is not stock I'll gladly use. Although I can't speak for everyone else.

Help please
Hi. Im a newbie at all this installing rom stuff. I am trying to install this rom, but omited to download and place the gingerbread gaaps on my sd card before the process...
so now I am stuck in this step
-Find and Select Gingerbread Gapps
-Flash It
-Reboot
Should I turn it off and put the gaaps in there, and then restart it? Please help!
Just as a fallow up the way I solved this issue thanks to other forum members help was: turn off my phone, and install the gaaps to the sd card, to unzip them later.
PC Crashed
Not gonna be a CM7 this week, or anything else for that matter. My pc went down Thursday and I finally had the time today to get it back up and running. Still have to finish configuring everything how I like it, install all the build requirements, sync all my repos again (takes a while), and much more. My biggest problem is I might lose a lot of my Android stuff on my old encrypted home folder. Need to look into accessing an encrypted home folder when you don't have the password anymore. Like a dumbass, I stored it in my Documents folder....instead of anywhere on one of my other 3 hard drives.
I'll look into the baseband issue. I think I just need to add in the missing folders and files under /etc/motorola that the new baseband switcher uses.
Maniac had quite a few CM7 updates last week, and that's always good.
Hopefully I'll be back in business by Monday.
//If you're wanting to try out Linux, I gotta recommend Mint 13 Xfce to ya. The install is painless and the system's ran good and stable so far. One of my best Linux experiences.

I'll make jellybean roms as soon as I can get it to start compiling....especially since Salad Bar, Paranoid Android, and other cool mods are switching to jb. CM7's gonna come first, but I'll get to jb during the next week.

Woop, recovered all my Android files. I'm so glad I didn't lose all of it. I'd of had suicide level depression if I didn't. Especially since I had to look long and hard for the right tools to do the job (that's what she said). Time to format my old system partiton with a 20 gb recovery partition with tons of recovery tools and another partition for android development.
Then its time to set up my build environment. That'll take a while. The sdk alone is about a 1 hr ordeal, the CM7 sync is anther 1.5-2 hrs, CM9 is about a 45 min sync, the app install for everything is another 30 mins. And all those times are in a perfect world with maxed out dl speeds.
About done with all my sysyem themeing. I prefer a black desktop since its much easier staring at a dark 42" screen over a bright one for hours on end, and its eaisre to read. See the screenshot to see what I'm talking about
Also gonna look into adding aroma to the CM7 Kangs. I thought about making a lightweight rom with update zips for full CM, but Aroma will let us choose what system apps you don't want, allow easy modding and tweaks. If done right, it'll give the Kangs full White Rabbit customization without me having to port WR.

THanks... will do... just to let you know this second phone has always given me some sort of problem.... I had trouble when I rooted it because, the enable non market app would never stay that way. When I first enabled non market apps with superoneclick I could install no market apps. But after some time when by when I tried to install a non market app it kept telling me that I couldn't so I had to enable non market apps again. I thought that was weird, because device number 1 never gave me those issues. Anyway, on device number 1 everything from kangs cm7 worked...
As a followup to this problem, I tried connecting to Google on another wifi hotspot and it worked... I guess the settings of my IP are somehow incorrect at home, does anyone have any idea on what the correct settings should be... I can connect to Google at home once Im signed in from another IP.
Just wondering if this could be due to a CM7 issue because It never happened when my phone was in stock rom.
Also... I cannot purchase apps when connected to the wifi at home... I have to go somewhere else...

CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

So I installed the jailbreak a few months back and have been waiting eagerly for a ROM and searching around... but from what I have read, the sch-i925 version note 10.1 doesn't have the same partitions as other 10.1's, so I haven't found a ROM for it.
What confuses me is that people seem to be returning back to stock... and in the first line of the instructions of this ROM I find:

So... what other ROM?? How did I miss that?
I'm super happy that I finally find a ROM for this tablet, but why now a few day's after the first post of this great news... why I'm the first posting here?? Nobody else jumping out of their seats in joy??
Also, I'm curious... does the CM include phone capabilities? I'm in Iceland and the Icelandic version of this tablet is basically just a very large phone, I'm hoping this ROM will get me there since now I cant even use the mobile networks at all because I have no Verizon SIM and even if I did - it would be ridiculously expensive
I'm looking forward to testing this out, will post my results

Do you mean it includes the phone app, but somehow is still limited to Verizon?? If its a new ROM, why is it still locked to a certain carrier??
So I was about to install CWM when I got into trouble connecting detecting the tablet with both heimdall and odin. Adb detects the device... perhaps a driver issue because of ADB... perhaps it doesnt matter
I booted into recovery only to find the TWRP that I haven't used yet, it came when I installed adams jailbreak. Im not familiar with TWRP but it looks pretty good. Do I need to install CWM or is TWRP good enough??
*edit: No problem connecting to ODIN on a different computer, so now I can install CWM if needed.
Could you let me know if I can use the TWRP recovery instead of the CWM?
Also, did you mean that this ROM is locked to Verizon mobile network?

I believe this rom is specifically for the verizon version of the n8020. There is a port for the international version.

I also believe that this rom is specifically for the verizon version of the n8020 (the sch-i925). I have the Verizon SCH-i925 Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 which is a LTE version. So this rom should fit pretty well I dont believe I can use the n8020 ROM's because of some different partitions from what I have read.
Can I install this rom with TWRP recovery or is CWM a prerequisite?
I didn't quite understand your reply, even if the Rom is designed specifically for this tablet, that does not mean it is still locked to the network provider. Is it still locked?
Thanks again, cant wait to try it

cwm is just recommended for official cm builds but twrp should work. and no its not locked onto verizon it is just designed for it. moving it to another carrier would require slight modification

So the install went great - No problems with TWRP, ROM or Gapps... smooth sailing!
The only changes to the tablet prior to this install was following Adams guide on how to unlock the bootloader. I also had not installed any updates from Verizon.
The ROM I installed was the cm-10.2-20130904-NIGHTLY-i925.
I also didn't install CWM, the TWRP that i got from unlocking the bootloader worked just fine.
Here is the bug list:
The Bug List:
1. GPS is working just fine.
2. I haven't tried the BT voice search.
3. 5ghz WIFI not working - I also needed to reboot to get 2.4ghz working again
4. No graphical issues yet, I test played raging thunder racing game and no problems there at least.
Other Bugs:
Camera:
No camera app found. I installed Nexus camera from market but it gave an error: "Can't connect to the camera". Also, my flashlight app can not use the camera flash.
I noticed that in folder /root/sys/class/camera/ there is only two documents "front" and "rear" which are both empty 0.00B files. Was looking for the cause, perhaps this helps?
Mobile network *Edit: Not a problem anymore:
In order to search for networks, the APN needs to be configured first! I am using my normal phone Icelandic SIM now and can use 3G in here in Iceland, send texts and after downloading a dialer I can now make phone calls also
Besides that, the OS is working great... 4.3 is pretty cool Its a real bust that the camera isn't working, I hope that gets fixed since its the only downside of this upgrade.
I'll keep a watch on this forum, so let me know if I can send you any info about my install. I'll also keep an eye on the upgrades and report if my problems get solved
Thanks for this ROM

Would I then perhaps be better set with a camera by taking an older rom, 1st of September for example?

Good question, I'm glad I downloaded all of them, I suspected they might only have space for 5 there! Just wait a second, I'll google this for you.
Sorry for the wait, it was only a minute though... but I found this for you:
http://goo.im/devs/cm/i925/nightly
I guess I didn't need to download all of them after all. By the way, September 2 worked better than September 1 so Im using that now.
Im going to check the 8th of sept ROM tonight... perhaps its all fixed there, will report
I've got the latest 9/9 nightly flashed on my i925 and don't see an option to add APN's nor make calls.
Can I just download any Dialer from the market and calling will work?
My intention is to test it with the AT&T $35 month prepaid plan, but I hear already that supposedly Medianet Internet doesn't work.
If that doesn't pan out, I'm going to be trying a Staight Talk AT&T sim.
*EDIT* I downloaded Dialer One and that seems to work
@Snarlster, how did you edit the APN for data?
TBH I think so far the features of stock are more rich

You need to create an APN in "Access Point Names". (press + sign at top right)
You should only needed to set the Name (You create name) + APN (supplied by provider), here in Iceland they provide this information on their webpage.. can be fine to add more settings but this is the minimum (at least here).
*remember to save, I missed it at least the first time but you got to press the 3 dots in top right and press save.
After that, search for networks, if error then restart and search for networks again.

Good luck with that, I just threw my work phone's SIM card in the tablet, dont use the phone that much so it was perfect, now I have a work tablet instead of a work phone... but I can receive and make phonecalls and texts, I'll just have to find that blootooth earpiece I have somewhere and that should be perfect

When this happened to me it was because I didn't know to downgrade the radio to ZV8. Once I did that the ROM booted OK.
CAUTION backup your modem and EFS before you downgrade so you can restore them if you want to go back to a newer stock ROM- EFS might not change but modem for sure. I spent a whole day with "no service" trying to get back to ZVE which has been all round best for me.
Ok after some extensive research I finally got it working with the latest nightly jan 20th. I wiped everything except internal.. Flashed the cm12 then zv8 radio.. Wiped cache and dalvic and it booted fine.. I then proceeded to install the appropriate gapps..

Sooo- I'm no developer but I can tell you what worked for me. We're starting from different working roms and, except maybe for the recovery, can't imagine this matters. I am on stock ZVE, Dorimanx bumped kernel V9.55KK and bumped TWRP 2.8.3.1
1. nandroid backup and modem backup
2. wipe standard wipe and system
3. flash ZV8 radio from here- http://downloads.codefi.re/autoprime/LG/LG_G2/G2_modems
4. wipe dalvik
5. flash CM nightly (works with 20150120 didn't try older ones)
6. wipe dalvik and reboot
Probably a couple of extra wipes in there but can't hurt. Hope this works for you.
I expect good things from this rom- Shelnutt2 always did a nice things for the Optimus G my last phone.
Thank you
Just wanted to start of saying thanks to @Shelnutt2 for posting up the thread. I'm not sure if you are just going keep the thread up as a place for discussion around the official build for our device OR the CM maintainer that pulled the lucky LS980 number, but either way, thanks!
I came from the December 26th dated alpha build that @Rashed97 did for all the G2 variants and it ran good, few things here and there, but it had been my daily driver since Dec 28th and I've been happy since then. Was apprehensive about flashing the nightly builds because it's usually a regression at first BUT I have to say, so far, so good. My good friend and teammate @thoughtlesskyle and his themes pushed me over the edge, I just had to get the Theme Engine so I could try them on my own device so here I am, on CM12 Official nightly 20150128 and love using the THEMES! :good::good:
All, CM's built in SU control doesn't play nice with Titanium Backup AT ALL (ie, your apps will not restore) so you'll need to either just install SuperSU from the Play Store and update binaries as OR flash it when you flash rom.
Things that did not work in the Unofficial CM12 build that I noticed myself were:
1. No SIM Card warning on lock screen
2. CM Messenger app *send button did not work so app was useless
2a. MMS were not able to be received (not even through Google Messenger app)
3. GPS (well, not like that really worked on stock anyway.....
4. Sometimes system volume would just go to zero requiring reboot to restore
5. VERY hard to get the device to connect to Spark B41 networks (but had SOLID B25/B26 performance)
5a. Mobile networks setting would change on it's on
6. Theme Engine missing
7. Speaker phone didn't work, would turn sound from caller/video chat into very garbled unrecognizable output
8. NFC was SOOOO broken that it required manually deleting the NFC folder from system to keep from 100% wakelock
9. I'm sure other odds and ends but all in all, no show stoppers and I've been quite impressed with the CM12 start for our device
Now, I'm about 1hr fresh on the official build and can confirm that of my list 9 items from unofficial, 2a and 6 are fixed. I'll update as I spend more time with the rom but I'm looking forward to more good things here.
Finding Lollipop for my phone thoroughly made my day. Truly. Thousands of thanks to shel and whomever else got this here.
Flashed 1/28 clean with ZV8 radios via TWRP 2.7.0.0. Way quicker and better-looking and -feeling than stock.
GPS , MMS (with Google Messenger) and speaker work for me.
I've had no trouble with the built-in SU (I dig it), but I restore with ROM Toolbox Pro, not Titanium.
Send button on stock Messaging doesn't work for me either.
It does read "No SIM card - Sprint" on lock screen (as well as during the CM setup process).
Bluetooth works, but texts cannot be read by my car (as they could with stock and most, if not all ROMS on my N5).
Haven't touched NFC. Cheers and thanks again.
If you want the remote from lg, here is the thread for the remote to work on AOSP.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2929146
I've been using it in resurrection ROM for a while now. Since it is from the g3, it has a newer look.
I may come back to cm12, but haven't taken the dive yet.
May wait to see what else Mr Rogers finds. I know cm messenger has been unable to send since the beginning of alphas. Would think they could get that fixed. Also, for a limited data guy, not being able to shut off sprint data has been a issue for me.
Especially since I've heard d802, can shut their off with the toggle.
Looks like using any system profile mutes notifications. Can't get 'em to come back without a reboot.
I'm on the 26th version and just about everything seems to work fine. Sending messages works, sim shows up fine (using consumer cellular [att]), etc. Only thing that I'm curious about is UMS (usb mass storage). My car will not read an mtp device but did read usb mass storage when I was using my motorola atrix (using its internal sdcard, no external card required). Anybody know how to make it work in this rom or should I give that tmobile kk rom a shot (not sure how well it'd work on att)?

Scratch that. GPS isn't working. It can locate me when I'm connected to Wi-Fi, but not otherwise.
Screen is stuck in portrait orientation.
I can't get back to my stock backup. Same thing happened on my LG Optimus G: can't get back to AOSP without a total format.
i apologize for posting here, but i came across this thread looking for cyanogenmod 12 for d803. I saw on github you are a contributor. So, i was wondering that if it was even remotely possible for you to build d803? i know it could be a hassle for you thank you for your hard work in building for the beloved g2.

Got it. Had to clean-flash 2/1 to get screen rotation working, though.
Tried wiping caches and flashing 1/28, then wiping caches and system. Neither worked.
Still, I'm the happiest camper I've been since I've had the G2.

AOKP started in November 2011.
We’ve been going strong ever since.

What is AOKP?
AOKP stands for Android Open Kang Project. It is a custom ROM distribution for several high-end Android devices. The name is a play on the word kang and AOSP (Android Open Source Project). The name was sort of a joke, but it just stuck, just like our infatuation with unicorns.
We fork the source code of Android that Google puts out in the open with every major version release, and we then add the magical unicorn bytes (read: we add some of the coolest features that are both useful and make your ROM awesome).
With AOKP, you can generally do a lot more with your device than what you could do with the original firmware that came installed on it.
Click to collapse
Why AOKP ?
We were waiting for when you’d ask this.
There are a variety of reasons why a hilly billy Android user, on a bright sunny day, would suddenly start using AOKP and loving it.
For one, AOKP is lightweight. Most OEMs provide a heavy UI layer over Android and have loads of bloatware (i.e. apps that not everyone use every day, but you cannot remove because they’re “baked in” by default). Since AOKP is built upon vanilla Android source, it has neither of the above.
Also AOKP has features that you will not find on your stock firmware. You can have a multitude of toggles to quickly flip a lot of your phone’s settings right at your fingertips, or you can launch apps quickly from any screen using our Ribbons.
You can change almost each and every aspect of the OS, from its looks to the way it functions, with total freedom. And did we tell you, AOKP helps you make tacos?

Whatsapp hangs on initializing screen
If you don't clean flash don't bother to report bugs.
Also don't report 3rd party apps bugs. I'm not the lead developer of the whole planet.
Because here everything is fine and it really bothers me what you all do.
It's impossible here for everything to be fine but not in your phones.
Same thing happens in all threads. I see people blame me or my work.

Tell that to whatsapp developer I don't care. Mine here works fine.
Also whoever isn't thankful or doesn't press thanks don't even bother talking. Will be ignored.

Are you in beta program on WhatsApp? maybe that's the problem..
I was also beta tester of whatsapp, and moved back to AOSCP, but can you test this?
Leave beta program and than download and install whatsapp from paystore and try to activate

Not a beta tester; tried reinstalling - still hanging on initializing screen. Activation succeeds though.

well... as i said im not WhatsApp maintainer. i will look later for an alternative way to restore the whatsapp backup. since drive keeps backup, there must also exist a manual way to restore it.
i will keep you informed
@macpak ok my friend, I saw what's going on.
The strict security here doesn't let WhatsApp to autosync to contacts on it's own. Go to settings , accounts, press to add WhatsApp account. Afterwards return again there and enable syncing and auto syncing.
After a minute or so WhatsApp will work as it should work.
Same for WhatsApp plus
amazing job kessaras:highfive:

What can I say... Too strict security here.
Try with WhatsApp plus too. Latest 6 , or any, it will ask for update anyway after it sync.
kessaras I know that's a stupid question but which rom you recommend for this moment? AOSCP or AOKP?

Depends on your taste. Aoscp is pure AOSP , without almost anything to customise and aokp is full of everything but currently only with a few minor bugs not visible to the eye.
As far as I know since I use it for many days before I decide to publish it, it only has a sync problem to WhatsApp app. It needs to manually enable sync in settings while waiting for WhatsApp to sync. That's all.
Generally I never publish a rom if it's not super stable because I'm perfectionist and annoyed by stupid comments. Half XDA community blames me , haha.

come on man .. you are not robot. you cant go thru all settings in aokp aosp freedom v29 N and on top build a kernel. so you doing great. LOL maitaining one rom is enough to get you stressed. imagine that many.. so people please be more patient..
Marvelous work @kessaras!! :good::good::good:
I've clean installed AOKP today, with gapps, titan kernel 1.6 (maybe it wasn't useful, but that's for sure...) and magisk. Everything seems to work perfectly and finally I can configure the navbar as I like (maybe there are some conflicts between the navbar configuration in settings and the same thing in "ROM settings", but nothing irresolvable).
The only thing I'd still like to have is the ability to show in recents only the active applications, like for the "slim recents" configuration.
After the installation of ROM etc, I've had no a problem in reinstall a hundred of apps with Titanium backup (although somebody does not recommend it...:fingers-crossed
Thanks again.

Hi kessaras ! First of all, thank you so much for your work and this Rom, its fast and seems stable. But I have small questions (btw I cleaned flashed as mentioned in OP)
Concerning WhatsApp, do you mean sync the whatsapp account in phone settings while WA's initializing ? Doesn't work for me neither (can't upload the screenshot from xda app to show you...)
Also, I'm used to the one click battery saver from notification tile, doesn't it exist in aokp or did I miss the option somewhere ?
Thanks again

yeah they haven't added that. i can add, but it will have to wait until i have time to get busy with gerrit and get official access (IF i get. proly ill get it) and then add it officially.
Now its 2 click clicking on battery and then on power save.
About WhatsApp and this stupid strict security.
I tried 3 times and could successfully sync and init with both normal and plus app.
While its trying to initialise, we go enable whatsapp sync in settings and give it access.
Then we reboot. We start the app again and wait a bit to sync.
We dont close the app at all. We let it always try initialise in the background. After we successfuly init, we do whatever we want, its going on fine.
(Also check permissions while it initialise. Give it permission to make calls if needed)
Sorry for that. When i was testing aokp i couldn't test every every function on my own. So when i decided on AOKP i didn't know it had that "bug" (if we can call it like that)

First time installing crDroid to your HTC 10, or coming from another ROM:
** Make sure you're running a proper working Recovery (TWRP is recommended)
1) Copy crDroid zip, GAPPS zip to your device
2) Boot into Recovery
3) Wipe cache, system, & data (or just cache & system for a dirty flash).
4) Flash ROM
8) Flash GAPPS
9) Boot up
For root, AFTER you boot into the ROM, you can go back to recovery and install Magisk v20.3 (whatever is most recent, Android 10 is now supported)
ROM Asking for Decryption key on boot:
This isn't a ROM issue, but an issue with your device. Kindly boot into TWRP and go to wipe - choose FORMAT - TYPE - YES
***This WILL wipe your INTERNAL storage. Backup before performing the format.
Upgrading from earlier version of crDroid:
The only difference between clean flash as above and upgrading is you just wipe system & cache, leaving data. Everything else is the same. ***Remember to always clean flash before reporting problems. Clean flashing is always the best method of ROM install.
KNOWN ISSUES

Thanks a lot friend. Booting fine. I will install all apps and start to use it as soon as possible. By the way there is a more recent version of gapps Beta (06102019) for android 10. Here is the link. Maybe you can use it if it is suitable for the rom.

Hello, I am a VZW user, the latest version refresh very good, boot no signal, prompt: removed SIM card, will later appear have added SIM card. Then I turn on flight mode. Then use the keyboard to enter * # * # 4636 # * * to view mobile phone information, try telecommunication access point, signal recovery, restart mobile phone signal loss. The above steps must be repeated to achieve the signal, thank you for your tireless efforts. Come on!

Pie variant has been available.
I start to use it with all my apps. It is too early to give info about battery life. I can say it is fast, fluent. Only thing I see is quick charge is not working. While charging, it is writing "Charging" at the %35 percent. Normally at %35 percentage it was writing "quick charging". This is the first time charging after installing the rom. I will see it in the following days.
I am pretty happy before with Crdroid 5.8 + Cleanslate kernel. I had tried the previous CrDroid Q with cleanslate kernel for pie and it booted. But I did not used it much. I will try the stock fagyi kernel first and then try it with cleanslate kernel. I will write the accubattery measuring in the following dates.

Thanks for the feedback!
Are you able to test and see how long it takes for full change.
Should be able to tell if it's quick charging or not, it may just be the wrong text and not saying so, but it's still quick charging.
And it's always good to remember Q is new and things will keep getting better and better. So P I'll keep updating but I think it may be final as far as security updates so may not be anything to build as nothing is new and all devs are focused on Q.
Seems so as P I just updated and nothing was new for about a week or more and was bumped to v5.9 and Q is v6.0
So yea, depending on the person, may want to use P until a few more builds come and bugs and features get added and go.

I'm doing a TWRP backup now, and will test the battery using AccuBattery charging on 9 and after I install 10.
(dropping this here so I can find it later. Will likely be an hour or two)
Edit 1:
I use this HTC 10 WiFi only so I cant test cell/4GE connectivity without doing some special things I'm unlikely to do
as a test I installed this as I would if here was just a ROM update from CRDroid 9
Wipe/system/cache/dalvik (I left data intact)
Install ROM
Reboot to recovery
Install the Beta Opengapps from post 1
reboot to recovery
Install Magisk 20
Pleased to see /data survived intact, all my apps are there ,
Contacts Storage complained shortly after reboot and a recurring "android.process.acore" flashes every 10 seconds or so.
couldnt connect to WiFi "failed to save network"
rebooted the device to give it a second chance.
to thepoint of the test really
accubattery does show a diminished charging rate on Q compared to P
(the numbers do fluctuate but these are representative)
1st img - P 2nd img Q after leaving it charging for about 5 minutes each time
why the current is similiar but the %/hr. is halved, I dont know.
I just did this to give a quick look at the rom .

Thanks for the tests and feedback my friend!
Was interested also if P to Q would work. Actually somewhat surprised that it Booted!
For someone like me who has less than 30 apps to download I kinda prefer doing clean flash every once in awhile, but those with much more, or just doing something kind like this, certainly good to know! But yea any fc you ran into was because P and Q are so different.
Hopefully next build will fix the ril so you don't need to do any edits for 4g. Fagyi is updating his github soon, or possibly already did, unfortunately stuck in bed right now with Sinus and stomach issues.
Ill have to maybe ask fagyi about the charging, unless someone can let me know if it's also a lin17 issue. If confirmed to just crdroidQ, could be something that'll come in upstrram, or something I need to fix.
Unfortunately I'm tied to N until the 10th.
So can't thank you enough for going through the paces and giving such great feedback!
Eek, just had the old htc 10 reboot at 35% boot with 1%..
Hoping it's because of flashing and forgetting to charge to 100% rather the 80% that I have been doing for 1+ year.

hi @andybones sorry my friend I have been unable to test CR droid 6 till now .. coz initial build had booting issues so i went for LOS 17 meanwhile boot was fixed ... for now i am testing latest LOS build (the one with Gapps included) ... will test CR deoid 6 in few days now...
Meanwhile regarding battery I dont see any difference between any P roms and LOS 17. It seems as if in second pic from mikeataol the charging speed has been slowed down to decrease temp and preserve battery .. On Q roms i am getting current 1.5-2A @4.4 volts during early phase of battery charging .. (as later stage of charging is slower)
technically if u are using fagyi kernel Charging shouldnt be an issue in Crdroid 6 .. (or it might be a cosmetic glitch where it displays lower current when in reality its fast charging)

No worries my friend!! As long as you are on a ROM that's to your liking and happy, especially by the amazing fagyi, I'm happy.
(never liked how devs fault for users in the past).
I appreciate the insight on tge charging and battery. And I agree on your thoughts. Looking forward to updating build once fagyi upfated with VoLTE fixes, then it should be pretty good to go as a daily, if not already is. I wish I could flash it. Stuck on N til 9th.
Really want to replace my battery/screen but have a feeling ill destroy the device. Lol. Getting tough with the 35% battery loss on random reboot
Thanks for your continued support man!
-----------
P.S. For anyone like me trying to extend battery without the extra effort. I can confirm this app works on N firmware and should be fine on O with P and Q.

Hello everybody. I used CrDroid 6.0 with stock kernel and get 1 hour 21 minutes SOT in 18 hours. Formerly I got 2hours 30 minutes SOT with CrDroid 5.8 with cleanslate kernel. Then I switched to CrDroid 6.0 with cleanslate kernel for P. And I got 2 hours SOT in 24 hours. As far as I see from the detailed app usage in accubattery, app usage is similar between two. Have a nice day. By the way in accubattery battery health measures %68 (2046mAh).

Thanks for the review.
This is with a charge from 100%?
I can get about 2.5 hours from 80% down to 15%.
I don't like to go above 80 or below 5%.
This has helped keep my battery health at about 70% for over a year.
But if I do go to 100% I can get 4 hours sot.
It's getting to that time when we are going to have to decide about replacing the battery, or the device.
If it gets really bad I would have to unfortunately suggest you go back to Nougat.
I can still get 4 hour sot from 80-10%.
Also accubattery says 72% on N and 66% on O (firmware)
I still am curious if it'd be better or not getting P or Q running on N firmware as our O stinks.
Hello again. Because of the low SOT I was using from 100 to 20. But as of tomorrow, I changed rom to the ViperROM nougat with cleanslate kernel. I had used ViperRom nougat for nearly 6 months from January 2019-June 2019 and I was pretty happy with that. This time I swithced to the cleanslate kernel. Anyway have a nice time.

Did you come to say you are using ViperROM...
or this ROM with cleanslate kernel?
Either way, I am happy with, whatever ROM you are happy on.
