Hi all,
I'm in the process of creating my first android app; one that basically gives the corresponding note of one clef, say treble, in another clef, maybe bass. I am wanting to include where the notes are on the stave so I figured that getting pictures of each individual note would be best. I can't seem to find a library of notes so if I took them off randomly from google images then they would all be at different resolutions and it wouldn't look very nice. Is there a place that has what I'm looking for?

Has anyone contemplated creating a Android app that can take several images or a video clip and create a live wallpaper? That way, someone without any programming skills (like me) could make live wallpapers with our own video or picture collection. Would be awesome if something like that existed.
Just thinking out loud which I assume is better than talking in my head. Dunno...
DroidAppGen for this !
Hello,
We have just launched today our service droidappgen allowing to create Android livewallpapers.
For now, we display some images that the user can change automatically or on touchscreen. And another that can play a video if you have each frame.
We plan to add some new feature soon !
searching on google you can find droidappgen (I don't post often on xda, that I read a lot, so I can't post external link)
Don't hesitate to give your feedback here or using website.
After lurking for about 3 months on XDA and the Arc forum i finally found the nerve to go beyond just rooting and removing some blotware.
Compared to other hardware, Hifi, PC etc forums I found XDA really difficult as a beginner. There are a lot of guides/tutorials. However they all seem to require a basic understanding of android and the tools surrounding it. Every guide/tutorial I read, always resulted in more questions than answers. I constantly found my knowledge wanting as to fundemental functions of the different tools, drivers etc. Atleast for me, I was long and hard process before I felt comftortable enough to move on.
Anyway I finally found the nerve to unlock my boatloader, install a custom kernel and ROM.
For first time, it went incredible smooth. However I have som questions regarding the JJ hybrid ROM. Since I don´t have +10 posts. I will ask here instead of the developer thread.
- Contacs:
I exported all my contacs to SIM card and imported them again after I was done. However when importing my contacs it seemed to shorten/cut all the names of my contacs.
Is this a problem in this specific ROM or a general issue and what to do about it?
- Trebuchet:
I´m having some problems using some of the features in Trebuchet. I would really like to change the icons and increase the dock size to include more shortcuts. However nothing happens when I press the "Icon" and "Dock" under the Trebuchet menu.
Are those two functions just not working or is it a problem on my end?
Generally I find Trebuchet a little wanting in features compared to GoLauncher I was using before. Is it possible to install another launcher or will it mess up the ROM?
- Camera:
As far as I can tell the are no tweaks in JJ´s ROM to improve the camera/post picture processing and hence increase the image quality. Is there any ROM where this is included?
I think that was it for now. However, I´m sure more questions will follow as I dig deeper in to this ROM.
Thank you in advance.
I don't know about the rest but regarding your contacts, you should have exported them to your memory card instead of the SIM.
Saving numbers to the SIM is really outdated. You'd probably be able to save a maximum of 250 contacts i.e. One contact with a single number. I believe the name field is limited to 8 or 16 characters, so anything longer would be cut short. If you had two numbers for a contact, it would be saved as 2 separate entries.
This is not a limitation of the ROM but of the SIM card. And unfortunately, there's no way of retrieving all your contacts and numbers unless you had them synced with the Google servers.
Hi guys
I Was Wondering if you could help me get organized.
like Many of you probably, I have both AnoteHD and Snote. And like Many of You again, I think a hybrid between the two would Work best. So I thought I Would share my Sentiments and ideas, and then we could look at the options and discuss apps.
I really like the UI of AnoteHD, but think it is very limited. Its Such a let down You cant even edit the position of the pictures you added once you drop them into a note. But otherwise I really like the folder options and stock note backgrounds.
Snote has a very comprehensive note taking/ making ability. However, its a little disappointing that you cannot group notes together or "bind them" after thier creation. this coupled with the boring and limited folder Method.
As far as calendar I like The way AnoteHD is setup or at least I think it is easier to work with, especially with to-do's which is the Majority of my interaction with this app. I feel as Though S planner May have potential but Just the fact it is giving me what seems like proprietary back talk about not syncing with my google calendar is annoying. Though I found a tread discussing that issue it seemed unclear to me if they resolved this issue. I tried as well and had no progress with it. Being able to draw on your calendar Seems like a relevant function and gives you more freedom than AnoteHD. Also, I believe S planner does not Show you past due tasks or upcoming tasks as Well as AnoteHD.
Some of the Useless functions between these two apps :
A-note HD: The ability to edit the creation date? (Is this for the procrastinater?)
Snote: All the different templates Seem a little Silly.
Is there away to Change the default search engine for the Knowledge Search from wolfalpha gram?
As far as other apps, I remember I Used to utilize Go launcher on my former HTC phone. However it Was Junked With Ads unless you paid for it. And to use their task app you need to Mask your Stock UI With theirs, which Im under the impression will eat More Memory and battery. If things have Changed With this app or you have another app to Recommend, please let me Know.
Tips and tricks are also Welcome.(please ease the random capitalizations) I'm interested to hear What works for You.

Why narrow it down to two apps? Have you tried LectureNotes for note taking or looked into the functions of Write? Also, which SNote version are you using? I much prefer the one ported from the Note 3 because it has the extra functionality however not everyone agrees.
Just a few thoughts.

Im interested so I'll check it out. I was rather more hoping this would turn into a discussion but I see it does not seem to strike a chord with anyone else. Either way thanks for the feed back. Ill give them a try.

You might have better luck posting it in the "Themes and Apps" section. Just a thought.

Ahhh, I dont not even think of it. Since there was some personal gain for me as a result I put it in here. Maybe I'll repost or would a mod move it over if I asked?
Thanks,
Can someone assist with the %FOTO variable.
I'm trying to create a widget which will display the very last picture i took and also act as a shortcut to my gallery when tapped.
I have set up the variable in tasker, using this information provided here: http://www.jagwar.de/zooper-tasker-variables/
I have put in the #zoopervariable# into Zooper using a blank bitmap, but is displays nothing?
I read somewhere that its because Zooper or Tasker is looking for images in the wrong location, is this true?
If so, how can this be changed?
Thank you
I'm pretty handy with both Zooper and Tasker, and was about to give the simple answer to this, but I figured I'd test it first, and ... there's an issue in Tasker with %FOTO getting the correct path to the last photo taken by the device's camera and/or accessing the path to this photo.
I think this is a combination of what device you have, what version of Android you're running, along with Tasker and Zooper.
Because in Tasker's documentation it says %FOTO should get the path to the last photo taken by the internal camera, but, it doesn't, depending on where the device's camera puts it.
So, it may not be able to be done, unless you use Tasker to take the photo, and in there you can specify any path/filename you'd like, and then push that over to Zooper using the Action>Plugin>Zooper>Set Variable.
If I manage to get Tasker to pull the correct path/filename to the last photo I took just using the device's camera (and not a Tasker action) I'll post it here. For reference I'm on Galaxy Note 4, Lollipop.
EDIT: As I suspected after doing a little research it's a combination of all that crap I mentioned above. At the very least if your camera/device is set to store photos on the External SD Card it's likely Tasker can't read it properly. But if your camera stores it internally Tasker MAY be able to read it, again depending on the vertsion of Android and the device.
Reference THIS LINK for more info on the problem.
There may be someone out there who has a workaround. Just have to Google Search a bit more. I guess a lot has changed since Jagwar posted that info in August, 2013. It's a good resource but there's some things that have changed in past couple years, looks like this is one of them.
Zingoo is a new promising app that will rock your weekends, outings and any happening that you want to easily enjoy watching its moments over & over again (we are now doing the Android version, then the iOS one). Because we want Zingoo to be born strong, it has to deliver the best possible [UX] to all awesome-moments lovers around the world, which means we have to do our best in loading the images.
Because we (at Begether) do listen to our users, we heard a lot of comments on how WhatsApp is loading images super-fast, so we dug deeper to know what we can do about it, & here is what we find,
What does WhatsApp do?
WhatsApp is doing the following (numbers are approximate):
Photos sizes range around 100KB, which loads the images pretty fast on most common mobile-network speeds.
Photos are cached, so no need to load them every time you open the app almost no need to mention this!
They first show a very small thumbnail (about 10KB or less) until the real image is loaded, & this is the real pro-tip for their better UX.
How is it done?
To achieve the caching there are some good Android libraries out there that are doing a good job, but one of them is doing a way better than the others, which is Picasso. Both caching on disk & on memory are built under the hood, with a very developer-friendly API, I just love what Jake Wharton & his mates did for all of us, thanks guys.
