Aside from the stickers which don't interest me, will themes look different on the 10? Or exactly the same as on the m8, m9?
I was particularly interested in the 'switches' in settings, the Quick Tiles, and the contacts/dialer.
I've only seen video of the stickers so far. Not a single reviewer seems to have tried a theme and then moved around the UI.
The UI has changed quite a bit. The strings menu now comes in the known and nearly stock Android look and contact pictures on the list view of the respective App are round instead of squares to name some of them.

Well I was sad to get a reply on reddit from a dude with the phone saying the themes don't change the colors/switches in the settings menu. See here:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/4hi77y/just_got_my_htc_10/
Wish themes changed things like status bar icons, I'm not a big fan of Sense Wifi icons lol
Yes petty but im way too used to stock.
Regardless HTC's theme engine as I thought, looks lackluster in comparison to say Touchwiz's, which changes more elements of the UI e.g. menu's, notifcation tray etc

Well @sykopompos said this a while back in the google+ layers community...
"If any of you run across marshmallow OEM roms (not nexus or Android one, these are aosp) or get one for your device (I know the g4 has one out there), post them up.
Make a dump of the system, if you don't know how, just ask (be prepared to use adb)
Since layers works on stock marshmallow natively, it should work on any OEM marshmallow rom (besides cm obviously) and chances are high that the resources might be different and themes could be made/modified to work with these OEM Roms.
We are only interested in marshmallow Roms though since they will have full native support and the changes Google made in marshmallow."
Hopefully somebodys needs to get him a dump!

So we need to get a system dump, give it to him, and hope it looks promising
EDIT: what @King p1n said lol

I'm already about finished. Just have a few more .9.png files to edit.
However I'm not going to release it until the stable build is finished. Waste of time and effort otherwise.
is it a black bar theme thatll be awsome along with a nexus launcher but not the helix or launcher2. i changed that by changing the draw button images to nexus ones hehe.
also music beautification works on mp3 player on this rom

Sure is. http://tinyurl.com/chmtheme still working on finding a suitable Launcher though.
use stock lol just change the arrow images on the drawer to the nexus square and itll be fine and run fast. i experienced slowness when using helix or launcher2 its that it bloats the system and uses far too much memory with the wrap aroound effect emulating what the nexus does. when really to save speed the square icon will suffice by that i mean changing the app draw icon to the nexus one with .png that it really.

just wondering
okay, so im a noob, does anyone know where to find the status bar png in the framework.? where is it located?

i LOVE this theme
My first post...been lurking around for a while.
I feel like this would probably be pretty simple for someone who knew more about what to do.
I tried flashing the zip, then tried using reframe.sh (through android terminal emulator) to reboot into just the framework, then tried editing the framework-res.apk by adding files and moving files to match other Froyo framework-res.apk files...but all of those things failed.
I didn't really anticipate my actions would have the desired effect, but I was trying.
I don't know what would have to be done. If it's simple and someone would be willing to update this for Froyo, I'd appreciate it. I think some others would as well.
In addition, if anyone could point me in the direction of some learning material for this kind of stuff, not just how to theme but also maybe some development guides for beginners, I would appreciate that as well.
Then I could just do this type of thing myself in the future.
Here's the link to an xda thread with WhiteMochi v0.003: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=843204
Thanks in advance.
Think alot of themers on the Epic prolly got their start here using Dream's guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=821638
Good luck man!
I'll do it.
Do you want the clear notication bar or the solid one?
I would like the solid one, if you could. Thanks a ton.
And thanks to both of you. Definitely gonna check out that guide.

Haha I didn't. But a good guide never hurts.
Do you want the lockmod installed along side?
What exactly do you mean by the lockmod?
My current rom uses the AOSP lockscreen by default so it shouldn't be an issue, right?

I meant maddoggins lockmod for EC05. It includes 6 different locks.
Oh, no. I tried to install it but was having issues getting it to work.
The one straight from the lockmod thread didn't work (FC when trying to view Lockscreen Settings), I found a working version in the framework included with the Nebula rom/theme but didn't like the status bar.
I was under the impression the WhiteMochi just used the AOSP, or were you asking for another reason?

Haha I can make you a version of nebula with a different colored notification bar if you'd like.
I'm sure it uses the AOSP lock. I was just asking if you wanted me to implement the 6 lock.
If you could get the 6lock in with the Mochi that'd be sweet, but it's not necessary for me.
Would be a huge plus though, hahah.
Still looking for anyone willing to possibly port this over to Froyo/SRF.
I'm mainly just looking for a white status bar without a gaudy notification pulldown and attractive icons.
I tried FrostPort v1.2 but personally disliked the status bar icons (all of them).
I noticed that the Galaxy Prevail (the new prepaid Boost Android phone) has a nice white framework, so even a port of that would be killer.
I read up on theming and I have a basic understanding of what to do, it doesn't seem overly difficult. Only issue with me is that I work 5-6 days a week long hours so I don't always have time to devote to studying up/getting in practice...especially as of late.
I have two days off coming up which I'll most likely wind up devoting the bulk of to learning how to theme (devoted my last two days off to my phone as well...don't know how to feel about that).
In the meantime, however...once again...if anyone is up to the task, have at it. I would appreciate it, and I know others would too.
I'd like to see this theme... Where can I see screen shots of the original theme? I have no knowledge of Android Theming or anything. But if there's a pretty good guide, and by pretty good I mean something that will SHOW me how to do it, then I could give it a try. But I'm more visual so a walk through that's text only won't help.
This seems like its AOSP straight to the bone seriously just use the AOSP ROM, whats honestly different?
When trying to flash it via Clockwork it says "Amend script was disabled in this version" or some such thing, and then says "Installation Aborted".
Using reframe.sh causes the phone to not boot (sticks on boot anim).
I have replaced the new (IMO not so good) music and thumbnails within the Sense 5.5 Android 4.3 ZeroEditing.apk. They still appear in the Highlights section of the gallery under the new theme names only they show the old thumbs and use the old music.....
Hope this is helpful for some. I missed the old music too much and wanted it native. I've tried to pull both new and old through but I don't know enough about developing to get it working. Maybe someone else can.
LINK HERE
Thanks mate, i will test it. I like more the Sense 5 themes than Sense 5.5. Any way to get both versions working together?
Thanks mate! I like Sense 5 themes more! :highfive::highfive::good:
just noticed that I've put one of the old mp3's in twice so I'll fix it and re-upload.
Note that this apk doesn't include the old 'themes' as such. Just the old music. I'm looking in to how to incorporate the old themes. It is definitely possible but as I'm new to this it's taking me a little while... But it's fun learning
I recently updated and miss the old highlights as well, For some reason I don't even have the normal themes like Gotham, poloaris, etc anymore when I upgraded, I have 12 completely different ones. Perhaps its a difference in the European version? I have been trying to see if I could combine these all as well but haven't had any luck. Any progress by any chance?

It's not just you it's universal. It seems there's not many of us that are annoyed by the change and removal of the good old themes.... Such a shame.... I'm revisiting this project for a bit though to see if I can figure something out.... There must be a way to bring all the themes through.
Okay so, if HTC made it easy, I would have the answer for this or at least a way of asking them about it. Maybe someone reading this can help.
My M8 is still pretty boss in the line of HTC flagship phones, but I am not thrilled with most of the user-created themes that currently exist for download. I just spent a few hours designing a kick-ass theme using their new web browser-based Theme Maker Pro (Google it, because I can't post the link). I am so proud of it, that I published it for review to share with others on the Themes app.
Unfortunately, when I downloaded the theme from the Themes app onto my phone, there are missing elements. My main home wallpaper won't show, nor does the custom All Apps button. Now here's the kicker. The Great 'Maker' allowed me to upload a super high-res photo to divide into three home screen panels, which no theme currently has on my phone. Likewise, no theme currently has a custom All Apps button either. Not to mention, I've never even heard of wallpaper "stickers" which the Maker required me to create as well.
So, my conclusion is that the whole new Themes Maker is geared towards the new line-up of phones- the M9/10. But what's they got that I don't got?! I know my M8 is updated to the latest *Sense 7* and Lollipop. So, why won't these elements appear? They should say this on the themes website as well.
Can anyone help me out with this? My obsession isn't healthy I know, but that theme took a long ass time to make!

Try InsertCoin ICE 8.0.6 MM Sense 7 based but with sense 8 apps and looks like sense 8.Also support verzion and etc kind of sh!ts.
Well, that's the question. I'm gathering some credits trough Google Rewards and i'm pretty interested in buying the Substratum extension made for Android Oreo. But first i want to know if someone has tried the app in this phone to avoid some useless purchase. Something that i miss from my old Moto X Style is the customization. I could root this thing to do it without any plugin but so far i'm not interested in rooting and all that.

I didn't find any replacements..
I think if You dont wanna root Your phone You should buy Andromeda rootless backend - support devs, because it works.
I'm currenly using the Andromeda... It does work but with some errors n doesn't work well with all themes...
I've got something to show..
Thanks guys. I'll buy it anytime soon then.
I have been using it on 0.8 Verizon edition with no probs, sais oreo theme is a pretty good dark theme.
I am using it. Everything was working until the most recent security update for oreo. Although it may have been me updating my theme, which i did after the security update.
I can't stand all the ads on this phone. Ugh.
I use it with stock Oreo 8.0.0. No issues.
Black theme (forgot the name but it is the most popular one) is nice for the notification bar and settings menu.
Which theme is that?

Black looks beautiful and being AMOLED saves battery also.
Notification issue
The Default Dark Theme works except for some notifications that keep having dark text on dark background (see first notification on the attached image). Is there any way to fix that? My device is not rooted.

I am currently using a pitch black theme that is called Sai's Oreo Theme: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=baka.sai.oreo&hl=en
I`ve been using Default Dark from F-Droid. Basically switches the Phones/Contacts/Settings/QSettings etc to dark.
The app has one annoyance to it cause you got to connect the phone to the pc if you want to use substratum.
The good stuff is that applied theme survives reboot, so it`s not so bad in the end.
