Ok, so I rooted the phone yesterday, and installed a custom boot animation, but that's all I have done. For some reason, Every time I reboot the phone, My battery stats reset, so when i turn the phone off, then back on, my battery usage says "unplugged for 32 seconds" or something similar to that. Any idea why it's reading that I just unplugged the phone???
Also, I have juice defender installed, and all of a sudden it is reading ridiculously high numbers, like it's increased my battery x9.74. It never usually reads higher than x1.74 or so. I don't know whats going on. Any ideas?

It will say that regardless whether you unplugged the phone from the charger or if you reboot the phone. It is clearing your battery "statistics" because you shut off the phone...

ah yeah, but it's not that big of a deal.
It's on a different level than the battery stats that you wipe in Recovery, but it can be a bit of a pain if you're closely looking at your battery level and you can't know for sure how long since you actually charged it.
Once or twice a week when I press the power button, the device doesn't turn on. I then have to hold the power button for several seconds to reboot it. I'm not sure where I read it, but somebody mentioned that it could be related to the auto brightness setting. Unfortunately setting the brightness to a fixed level did not solve this issue. Any other suggestions?
I'm on stock 4.3 (JSS15R)
I'm not trying to be a prick here, this question is just me not knowing all the facts.
When you power the device back up, how much battery does it have left? Is there an app that's draining your battery in the background?
If it's not the battery running out, have you tried a factory reset?

With 'turn on' I mean getting it out of standby mode. I don't power off the device completely.
The battery percentage is not the problem. It sometimes happens with almost full battery. There doesn't seem to be a draining application.
I haven't tried a factory reset yet. I want to try that if nothing else helps.

Hmm. To be honest, I'm not sure what it could be. Barring a hardware issue, I would lean towards trying a factory reset.
Hi Everyone
my phone on stock , no root , lock bootloader and latest OST update.
I faced problem couple days ago. First, I put my phone on the charger then after 5 min my phone is not charging at all. So I unplug and plug again and start to charge. After 10 mins there was an error on battery with red X and show me this" you don't use supported charger". After that, I put my phone on the charger but there is not "Charging Rapidly" only "Charging". Then I noticed Android OS draining battery. I did 3 factory reset with airplane mode and still Android OS draining.
So there is any solution for this problem.
shutdown phone and start again. if it's not fixed, either factory reset or delete cache, eventually even data for every google service/app and restart again

only factory reset will help, save your important stuff from phone to either sdcard or PC and perform factory reset through stock recovery

please enable developer settings and check under running processes which apps are running at the moment in background. you can also take screenshots of every app there. but please upload it not directly into reply, otherwise it will so big again and it's annoying to scroll down

looks okay...hm do you have location scanning for wifi and bluetooth enabled?
---------- Post added at 12:17 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:12 PM ----------
the thing is, it is no a problem with the phone, can happen to any phone with android. you can try to ask HTC support..or google for android OS battery drain.

Just lighten the load, are you still experiencing the same drain with no additional apps installed..
Factory wipes will only offer you a clean slate, it's not a fix..
Be careful what you install, if you've got tonnes of social media apps running all the time and loads of widgets then your phones battery is going to suffer.. Lighten the load, avoid using connectivity options if they're not in use.
BT, wifi, GPS, even 4G. Auto brightness, double tap to wake. Any or all of these things can affect battery life.
if you have another QC 3.0 charger then test if if can use rapid charge, if not you better return the phone + charger, I see so many user with charger fail, and other had the usb port start to fail.
for reference, my HTC 10, wifi always on it will consume about 0.6% per hr in idle, I use a app call battery log to monitor the usage.
I want to thank all everyone want to help me. I decided to sell the phone after i did all possible solve and still draining . BTW I Purchased OP 3.
Thank you

To be completely honest, with vanilla android, there so little difference, it'll never slow down and will stand the test of time, even the Nexus 5 still looks amazing and runs just as good as any phone today.
Sure with gaming you'll see a hit but if that's not a problem then you really don't need to worry.
Both phones will work as you'd expect, both a bit too big for me though, i've had my share of phablets and i think 5" is about the sweet spot.
I've got big hands but i prefer something i can get to the top of with my thumb within one hand.
Enjoy your OP3 If they put that into a 5 or a 5.2 inch phone then i'd be all over it, unfortunately it's just over what i'd say is too big for a phone, pop a decent case on it and it's just grew another half inch
i'm sorry about bring back to life this old topic, but i'm facing exacly the same problem of a2fast. And i don't want to do like him and sell the phone
Just After i updated to Nougat by RUU.exe method, my phone show an error of charging, just like a2fast, after that my battery is draining very very fast, about 15-20% at hour, i did all the steps described here, including install new firmwares, a lot of hard resets, disable everything, and nothing solves.
I thinking about downgrade to marshmallow again, but i'm S-ON and i don't know how to do it
Any tips please?

I'm facing the same problems after i updated to N
I've tried everything to disabled everything, turn off wifi, Bluetooth and everything else.
Hard reset, tried a lot of custom roms, stay completelly stock... Nothing helped
So i shoud send my Phone to assist or there something that i'm missing?
So, I got a new phone...Galaxy S8+. After like dozens of attempts to factory reset my 360, it finally booted correctly. Now when I try syncing things, nothing happens. In the Wear App, I don't even have the option to select a watch face. After undocking the watch (which is fully charged), it just shuts off until I redock it, at which point it boots up as it was turned off. Is this thing toast, or is there a trick to this? Never had this many issues with this before.
Anyone?

Ah ? thinking you said : After undocking the watch (which is fully charged), it just shuts off until I redock it,
so when watch is not on charger it shutdown ?
You're misunderstanding my issue. Nothing is syncing to the watch, and the Wear app gives me no option to pick a watch face.
I tried resurrecting this again, but it's still having issues. Popped it on the charger, and it acted like it was going to start up, but went into a charging screen. Eventually it'll boot back up, but when I swipe down and start swiping right to get to settings to do a factory reset, it just turns off after a couple swipes. Is this thing just dead? Battery is over 60%.
Your battery is bad. It shows good battery % numbers, but it can't provide enough current to keep the watch running when off the charger.
Replace the battery and it will fix some, if not all, of your problems.
Hello everyone, I'm using Samsung Galaxy A5 2017 with latest Nougat update. I have a problem with battery time usage after hard reset.
Yesterday, I charged into 100% then I was doing factory reset by entering recovery and select Full wipe, then I was rebooting to first boot,
then I used for restoring data
Today I'm getting 27 % on battery, then I'm turning off and charging into 100 %
and after all, I have this problem in battery usage time calculation , It shows 'Learning using patterns' from yesterday.
Solution please
Thanks
It says "learning usage patterns" and it does exactly what it says. It's still learning, and it means that you should give it a few days after hard reset to get back to normal. It's not a bug or a defect, just something happening after every hard reset
