Hello dear forumites. This site has really helped me alot in the past to solve so many problems so I am first of all using this opportunity to thank all those who dedicate time to do alot of work and assist others.
Few months ago I bought an LG G2 Sprint which was unlocked for GSM because I had to ship it to my country. It came rooted and I saw somethings at that time that I didnt understand much, things like Xposed etc. Now I have much idea about those. What got me confused was when I decided it is time I try my hands on custom roms. I chose to use Cloudy G3 V2.0. Now the thing is , the phone came with Rayglobe Flex ROM and after doing some research here on XDA i discovered that ROM is used to unlock sprint usually. Infact I didnt know Sprint LS980 is originally meant to be CDMA.
One thing I was initially confused about while trying to install CLoudy G3 was determining what exactly my version was. It came in a Sprint Box almost new, had LS980 written on it at the back, but when I go to hardware information in the phone settings, its shows
Model number : LG D802
Software information shows:
Android Version: 4.2.2
Baseband Version: M8974A- ........ (letters and figures follow)
Kernel Version: 3.4.0
Build number: Rayglobe Flex 3.5
Software Version: D80211Z
So i'm like, can it be a D802 and also be an LS980?
Now I followed the instructions here on XDA and installed Cloudy G3 and chose Sprint Variant in the option, but when it was done, it was just stock on the LG bootlogo, left it for over 30minutes, restarted it, same thing. I had to restore back the Rayglobe, thank God I backed it up.áá
Now I decided maybe it was the Rayglobe causing problems so why not return the phone back to stock, again I got all instructions here and followed. I got stock here for a while because when i went to the page to download the zip file that has the .tot file for Sprint I saw three different ones :
LS980ZV8_13.zip
LS980ZVA_01.zip
LS980ZVC_12.zip
I dont know the difference between these 3 but i chose the first one but just while LG Flash tool became to flash the stock ROM I chose, it stocked after about 2 secs and said the phone model.
Lastly I decided to try cloudy g3 again. First time I tried it that it got stock on bootlogo, I installed, went back and wiped phone before restarting. This time I just installed and restarting straight, by the time it restarted I had a black screen with:
[xxx] Fastboot mode started
[xxx]udc_start()
* forgot the numbers representing xxx but i think one was 980 or so.
Really sorry for typing this much I just wanted to spell out all the problems encoutered. After this I had to restore back the Rayglobe. Right Now I seem to be stock with this rayglobe. What do I do please.
Note: I have not been able to move to kitkat because when I go to software update, it always tells me I am already using the lastest even though its on 4.2.2.

LS980ZV8_13.zip = 4.2.2 JELLY BEAN Stock firmware for LG G2 Sprint LS-980.
LS980ZVA_01.zip = 4.2.2 JELLY BEAN Stock firmware With Some More LTE Bands Unlock(Sprint Spark) for LG G2 Sprint LS-980.
LS980ZVC_12.zip = 4.4.2 KITKAT Stock firmware for LG G2 Sprint LS-980.
LS980ZVD = 4.4.2 KITKAT Stock firmware with Knock Code for LG G2 Sprint LS-980.( Currently, I'm also using this)
LS980ZVE = 4.4.2 KITKAT Stock firmware with improve HD Voice Calling for LG G2 Sprint LS-980.(LATEST Till DATE as of now i.e: 28th OCT,2014)
And as far I can guess, D802 is the international model of LG G2 and you flashed the firmware of Sprint Variant Of LG G2.
Sprint Variant = LS-980
International = D802
All models:
LG G2 D800 for AT&T
LG G2 D802 for Europe (International)
LG G2 D802TA for Australia (International)
LG G2 D803 for Canada (International)
LG G2 VS980 for Verizon
LG G2 LS980 for Sprint
You can try to flash the D802 Stock ROM from LG Flash tool or any other flash tool program which supports D802.
But as always, backup everything including your EFS !

Thanks so much for your response. I will try to flash the stock ROM D802. But from your judgement, do you really think my phone might actually be D802 even when it came in a Sprint box and has "LG- LS980" written at the back of the phone?
Also can you paste here the exact link to the D802 firmware I need a there are so many different D802 on:
http://storagecow.eu/index.php?dir=Xda/LG+G2/Stock/
Wow, I just discovered my Light sensor and rotation is not working, after the failed attempt to flash Cloudy G3 and also a failed attempt to Return to stock ROM. went back to the Rayglobe 3.5 that came with my phone but I just discovered my light sensor is not working. Phone not rotating. Camera takes pictures inverted (probably related to the rotation problem), screen doesn't go blank when I hold the phone close to my ear when in a call (probably related to light sensor), Auto brightness also not working. Please heeeeeeelp!!!

Well, that is what is written at the back of the phone and since it came in a sprint box when I bought it off ebay, i will guess so. But the hard were information says it's D802. I explained the dilemma in my first post.

Yes I have a custom recovery. Just to confirm, can this be undone? Let's say for example something goes wrong? Also I am on JB, no problem with that?

Hello friend. Why do you say it looks weird? Actually, I was able to install cloudy g3 in the morning. Though I got stuck at lg life is good logo for a long time, it eventually booted after many restarts. After that I discovered my data and mobile network was totally disabled. I followed the instructions to use tellinfo app and that got my data rectified but mobile network was still inactive and greyed out even after following the instructions. I did everything possible but my mobile failed to work to I had to return back to the old Rayglobe ROM. Check out earlier screenshot I took.
You simply had an ls980 with build prop mods (d802 visuals in info) and an old baseband. Flash zdc baseband and a 4.4.2 stock based ls980 or multi rom and you are ok

Hello friend. Thanks for your reply. But I searched the whole of this forum and google but couldnt find anything like zdc baseband. Please would you be kind enough to provide a link to this? Also when you say flashing a 4.4.2 stock, you mean using the LG Flash Tool right?
Do you also have an idea why my Light sensor and Auto Rotate are no longer working?
Is it advisable to do a complete wipe and then trying to flash back to stock afterwards? Cos my phone has been acting funny lately. Restarts often, hangs alot plus light sensor and auto rotate not working

Hey, I've just bought what I believe to be a korean LG optimus g pro, in software information, it says it is running on android 4.1.2 and the software version is LG-F240-EUR, and in phone identity it says the model number is LG-F240. In LG PC Suite it says it is the latest version and I can't update to kit kat. I also can't find any updates or stock android / cm11 4.1.2 roms for this phone, and when I do, it says it is for either F240K, F240L, or F240S, but none for just F240. I don't care much about updating to kit kat, but I would love to get a stock or smooth / lightweight + cm11 rom for this phone, anyone know where I can find one? Thanks in advance!
Forgot to say, I'm also already rooted and running CWM, so that's fine.

As you may already know, the E980 is what most people compile for. There is CM11 for the E980. Also, there are no CM11 4.1.2 ROMs as CM11 ROMs are all 4.4.+ ROMs.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2786566
You'll want to look at this when you flash a CM11 ROM to your F240.
I think you should check your imei, just to be sure your phone is F240 or not
imgur .com / mvaOPUt.png
^There, I took a screenshot of the settings (I can't post outside links so you will have to copy paste and remove space)
I'll post them here as well in text form:
Android version
4.1.2
Baseband version
APQ8064T/MDM9x15M
Kernel version
3.4.0
Build number
JZ054K-xmx
Software version
LG-F240-EUR
Any idea which variant of the F240 this is, and where I could get a CM10 or CM11 rom for it? I'm not bothered by being on an old android version, if it's CM for an older version then I'm happy with that as well.

I don't do walkthroughs for devices I don't own. Also if you don't know if it's f240 S/K/L then you might have some issues my friend.
The model # of your device should be printed on the back of the device when the battery cover is removed, both on the chassis itself and underneath the battery on the barcode+imei label.

Hmmm, let me get back to you. Are you using Windows? If so I could toss together a .BATch file to gank the necessary logs to identify your devices specific model and needs. I'm very familiar with the E980 needs, and pretty well familiar with the F240s/k needs, but I've not encountered a F240-EUR yet. I wonder which specific variant it is?
If you're familiar enough with Linux or command line ADB Android stuff, I could just shoot you some instructions on what to do. Need to research a little first; might be a few days, as I am without internet access, stuck bumming it where I can (pardon me, I'm a gutterdwelling dirtfarmer).

So is there a stock TOT you can flash with LG Flash Tools that works fine? If so, you could backup all your stuff then flash back to stock with LG Flash Tools. When the dialog pops up asking you which TOT & DLL to use make sure to tick the 'Enable XML Log' at the bottom of the dialog and choose somewhere to save the logs to.
After you're done with LG Flash Tool, it will generate three files:
- DiagCommand.xml
- setting.xml
- LOG\<model number>_COM41.log
The last one, the *_COM41.log is the most desirable, but all three would be useful.
What does a site like this tell you about the IMEI? Does the IMEI reported in the Settings->About->Status screen match the one listed on the label underneath the battery?
>as many said after updating the lg f240-eur the updaate was successful but the ssignal was lost forever
Which update is that? An OTA update? Kitkat? Lollipop?
Have you tried the F240L firmware for it? Have you had any success with *any* stock image?
At least that COM41.log will specify the stock firmware and model for the device -- as long as the right DLL is used maybe, as incorrect DLL can cause issues (for me, using F240 Lollipop DLL on an E980 I had modem issues (and probably more)). That can also be obtained from a parameter cat'able via ADB shell, but I cannot remember it offhand (not sure if the partition it's on is loaded by default?) -- can get back to you with that specific in a couple/few days if you choose not/cannot flash a stock TOT.
As always before you go mucking about, if there's any files you value on your device make sure to vacate them via backup.

hi...i checked it in the imei website(but not the one which u provided in the link) and it is shown as LG F240S.I will backup everything that i need. But what are the 3 files u mentioned?and what does com41 file for? if i flashed any rom or stock lollipop kdz for my f240s,then will i get issues with my phn network signals? actually before this g pro,i had both g2 and lg g pro f240l(both phns i gave to my cousins).i updated f240l to official lollipop and everything worked perfectly.but the case here is different.its lg f240-eur.im scared of doing experiments on this phn.moreover, the touch on the phn is sometimes unresponsive.need to double tap or need to lock phn sometimes inorder for the touch to work.so the touch prblm is due to the rom in this phn or the digitizer prblm???

Apparently they have official Lollipop for the F240S, so it seems like you should be fine with that. Just make sure the IMEI under the battery and the IMEI being reported in the About menu in the phone match, and it seems like you can't go wrong.
Touch problems, rom or digitizer? If the touch problems persist with stock Kitkat *and* stock Lollipop -- or with any other roms, then it's likely the phone. Digitizers are inexpensive and easy to install though, so if it is that you should have little problem replacing it. Check out Ifixit.com for their walkthrough on that for the E980. Simple stuff! Requires at most a precision screwdriver and maybe a hair dryer/heat gun (probably?).
> ut what are the 3 files u mentioned?and what does com41 file for?
That's unnecessary now that you've found the correct model number for your phone.
Pls how can i flash twrp on my F240k and where to download it

I don't know, maybe you can root with the flex 2 method. BTW if you have the newer bootloader you can't install twrp or any custom kernel

Your best option is probably to use the LG flashtool 2014 and flash the old 4.2.2. KDZ
Then your'e back on the old 100% stock LG rom .
Root with towelroot and install TWRP (latest TWRP does not seem to work with flashify, use terminal commands instead)
After that you can use TWRP to flash the lollipop V50030a zip, and that way you keep both root and custom recovery.
Hi, and first of all many thanks for this rom !
However, like in 4.4 Kitkat, I still have the SD card unmounted issue sometimes, and gamma is only at 1.8. What can I do about these problems ? Do I have to flash something in particular ?
For information, my tablet had this rom installed before : http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g-pad-83/development/rom-android-5-0-lollipop-lrx21m-t2941207/page7
And I made a full clean before installing the new rom...did I missed something ?
camera
The camera-problem is fixed. Finally !!
Camera does not work on other android 5. Only on this it works
Yes !! thank you very much for all the work.
Thank you very much for this rom, but I have a question pus install updates lg to be modified recovey TWRP 2.8.6.0
screen brightness
Anyone noticed that screen is very bright even on 0% ? (too bright for me) or maybe i did something wrong ?
Few questions
Hello and thanks for working on our device. I have few questions. Are there any screen shots? Should I expect any random reboot or it is really and completely stock!? Are there anything good left out? For instance the good automatic brightness or the knocking ability to turn screen on or off.
Others who installed this rom also feel free to answer please. I appreciate it
It's complete. The whole LG crap is there. It's what you get when you get the official update. I had no reboot in the 5 hours before I went back to aosp.
hey guys...
how run this relase? there are any bugs?
Hi, thx for your work! The rom is running really great.
Any plan to include mod multiwindow for all apps?
I have notice that in quick remote we have lost a lot of type of device. Is it possible to port an other quick remote more complete?
How it compares to aosp ROM? Faster? Some unique featues? Besides lg crap?

Had the same sd card issue, maybe is lollipop related
There is any solution to the unexpected remove of sd card issue?
It wasn't occurring with the lollipop aosp version. Maybe I should go back to aosp...

Update to 30A from stock
Hello
Using a stock unrooted unmodified version of kitkat on my gpad and have few questions:
I've noticed the lollipop rom comes to around 1.1 gb. Will the OTA too be of the same size?
I've seen instructions that this rom can be dirty flashed over the stock rom. Does this mean I download and save the new rom locally in the tab, go to stock recovery and flash the new rom directly from recovery? Just like that?
Oh and has anyone got the OTA at all?
Edit: anyone using international version of the g pad...
Thanks
After 2 weeks using this ROM, I uninstalled it because gamma was too low and videos were quite sluggish. That's too bad because battery management is far better than CM 11.2 based ROMs (especially while tablet is not in use), and LG's interface is interesting...but it's not designed for everyday use. At least not yet.
Error Loki-fying
I get this error while flashing this rom via CWM --> Error loki-fying boot image, what am i doing wrong?

Hello Skin1980. I respect your work works very well for me. I need your help and understanding. You can do the same for LG GPAD 8.0 v490 V49020a_00? I can not install this device and root. Please help me.
Hi I have a weird issue, my wifi disconnects constantly every time the tablet is on deep sleep mode or downloading something. It's annoying especially for downloads. I already checked my wifi settings and they are set at "Always on" but still. Anybody else have this issues? BTW I dirty flash it over 4.4.2 maybe with a clean flash it get fixed
So first of all, i've been reading threads on XDA for the pas few years whenever i need to look something up that has to do with android or so but never actually posted myself. I'm making this thread because i couldn't find the answer i want. Excuse me if I don't do this following the guidelines right or anything.
So i want to root my LG G3 because i've rooted my previous phones (Galaxy S and Nexus 4) as well and i liked the roms i was flashing. I didn't really care about missing touchwiz' features when flashing a new rom and Nexus is already running stock so I wasn't worried about that either.
The question is for me now: What LG features will I miss when flashing another rom (E.g. CM12, ParanoidAndroid...) So in terms of the features that LG has put in their skin itself. Also what other remarkable changes will happen? Performance changes? And will I be able to use my camera the original way?
I hope any of you can help me out with this question and enlighten me a bit more.
Thanks in advance!
I can sum up a bit of lost features:
- The beautiful LG UI
- LG stock apps ( can be ported tho )
- Knock code
- Navigation button hide per-app settings

Will the camera work as usual if you'd download the camera apk? For example laser focus and the same quality as it normally should be? Because I don't like the google camera app.
And also, would you recommend flashing a different rom?

I'm the same addicted as you to the lovely LG G3 rom but i wanted more geeky feeling so i flashed CloudyG3 which is an improved stock rom which is still using the G3 firmware but alot faster and more options available.
I can only recommend you to use that rom since others were not that good imo.
Also i don't know about the camera thing but i assume it's the same on CloudyG3 rom.

Yes i would recommend KingoRoot for PC but you have to uncheck all the software they suggest you to install along the root process, i did not had any problems with Kingo Root but i've heard people complaining about it.
One click root applications like Towelroot, Framaroot and Stumproot does not work anymore on Lollipop stock roms since they were patched by LG.
I usually prefer to use oneclick root apps to avoid using my PC for little tasks + it's alot faster and easier.
So i suggest you to root it with Kingo Root using a PC.
And regular Xposed does not work yet on Lollipop but the Xposed Alpha version ( which you can find on XDA search ) does work perfectly.

Is it possible to port CyanogenMod for d856 using stock as base?

I don't know how to port, but here it is which I have tried and failed without bricking my device and didn't work :silly:. I download D855 cm-12.1 nightly replace boot.img with boot.img in KDZ of my device, modified some build.prop, and failed at flash.
I also did start reading Cyanogen Mod guide and its goes way over my head. However I do think that porting for an expert would only take marginal effort then new bio like me. I hate stock but I can't get around it.
So I endup flashing stock back with LG Mobile Support 2014, it works after lot of tries with different scenarios, root the device again, installed/flash TWRP with Autorec lollipop.apk for D856, flash Xposed for lollipop, Installed Xposed Installer, G3 Tweaksbox, G3 Tweaksbox Theme for Lollipop, GravityBox and other things... for now its lot better then what stock was offering, big thanks to XDA.
However I love to see CM-12.1 for LG G3 D856, since I loved CyanogenMod on OnePlus One and missing it badly (I had to swap out with my brother because it was offering lot better battery life (good for him) and I need little good camera ... win-win).
LG G3 One Click Root
Xposed for Lollipop
Flash TWRP for D856 (root)
G3 Tweeksbox for Lollipop
