How do I safely buy a LG G4? - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've noticed people complaining about "boot-loop issues" with LG G4. How do I make sure I'm buying the safe one? I can't check the serial number if I'm buying from Amazon. Also, I live in Bangladesh,Asia. Should I buy the international version?

[Q] LG G3 - Korean model for UK?

Hello everyone!
I've done some reading on the forums (so I hope I haven't missed a similar topic)
and I have a few questions to ask. Being the proud UK owner of a G2, the best phone I've ever used hands down, I am definitely ready to move onto the G3 !
I am seriously thinking of buying the Korean version - 32 Gig, 3 G of RAM sound more futureproof than 16 Gig, 2 for the same price nevertheless. However, I have a few questions for anyone who either has knowledge or has owned a Korean product before.
1) LTE bands and frequence. According to this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vodafone_UK#Radio_frequency_summary Vodafone, my provider, uses both band 20 and 7 for LTE. Now there are three LG variants, the L, S and K. According to this: http://optimusforums.com/threads/ko...ide-lte-band-differences-pros-and-cons.13134/ , it's just the L that has one of the two LTE bands used by Vodafone (And seemingly by most UK providers). Am I reading this wrong, or is it that the other two models would not support LTE?
2) Warranty - I guess this goes out to those who have actually owned one In the (un)likely event something goes wrong, what's the process of dealing with it - shipping it back and forth to Korea? I assume LG doesn't support Korean products locally.
3) Modding/Roming. Once more based on : http://optimusforums.com/threads/ko...ide-lte-band-differences-pros-and-cons.13134/, most mods that come out come out for the international models. Is this a reality? I've never been following models/variants much, but is it quite possible that buying from a Korean market may result in me never getting access to the good mods out there?
Thanks for reading, for answering (and for possibly trolling me ), and hope my questions make some sense.
After much Dilemma myself, I was in the same position as you are now in, I couldn't find any info on which model to go for, the F400K or the F400S variant, I spoken to my carrier and they gave me the gsm frequencies (I am in ireland) and then spoken/live chat with the supplier of the LG G3 from Ebay and they also directed me in the right way. I received my Brand New LG G3 F400K yesterday from Korea, and it work brilliantly. From my knowledge here in Ireland we run on the same basebands as you in the UK.
Perhaps the supplier of the phone can also direct you in the right direction, I initially ordered the F400S, but after discussing it with the supplier it became apparent that the F400K was the one for me.
Hope that helps you. I have brilliant 3G coverage here (4G not over here in my location yet) so I cant guide you on this.
Thanks
There is a good youtube video guide here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mj_KUqkH4oQ on Korea models too if your importing. Shows whats in the box and talks about the pros and cons.

I wouild definitely upgrade from the S3 to the LG G3, I have had the Samsung S2, S3, S4, HTC One (M7), LG G2 and now the LG G3 and by far its the best phone I have ever owned, admittidely I have only had it a few days, but you can completely see the difference between them, I used to love Samsung, but ever since I had the LG G2 I am now a True LG Fan, Samsung have gone in the way of putting too many gimmicks into their phones, and also releasing different cariants of their flagship, ie, S5, and now S5 prime...etc. Definitely worth the purchase for the LG G3. Well worth the money. Battery life is great, Camera is Awesome, its quick and responsive with the 3GB Ram. The Brightness/Contrast is by far the best I have seen on any phone, The Display is awesome, QHD at its best. I love my G3

Korean G3 advise

Hello Guys,
I went back to my Nexus 5 from an AT&T LG G3. I didn't know about about the PMA (I have QI chargers everywhere), and I wasn't sure about the Snapdragon 801 when there's a version with the 805.
So, I'm thinking about getting the latest korean version with 32GB, 3GB, 805 and QI-compatible hardware, but I'm confused with the models. What is the latest, and which one works with AT&T's LTE network? Tried searching, but everybody talks about a different model.
Also, what's the best place to order it? Do you guys recommend it? Or should I wait to see the Nexus 5/6 2014?
(G3 sub forum.. I believe you like it, but I expect honest opinions)
Thank you guys in advance!

I have the F460S (G3 with the SD805) and it works on Att. I believe that all of the Korean ones have the same bands if I recall correctly. I like my Korean one more than my Att D850. It doesn't work as hard or get as hot as the Att one which is good. There are some OPs discussing the F460 if you look in this forum. You have to get the quick circle case for the cat 6 model to get the qi (just remove the sticker and put it in your back cover). I'm glad that I got the F460 its a great phone.

Awesome! So F460S works on AT&T. F460 is the F460S or they're different models?
Also, does it come with much bloat? Where did you get?
Thanks
What about this one? http://www.ebay.com/itm/LG-G3-Cat6-...60764?pt=Cell_Phones&var=&hash=item33948add9c
It's the cheapest listing on eBay.. The seller says that LTE may not work in the US, but for AT&T it should, right?
Thanks

All Korean models have the same bands from what I remember. The S is SKT (South Korea Telecom) and it has a ton of bloat. Thankfully it's simple to remove 99% of it, only 1 or two things need root to remove. I like the S model because of the logo on the back and that's the only reason that I can think of... The F460 S/K/L should all work on ATT so I wouldn't worry. It was the same way with the F400 S/K/L. I also had a F400S and it was fine on Att.
The only real differences between all of the models are:
Logo on back cover
Pre-installed bloat
Unless I'm forgetting something that should be it. I would double check that of you like. Here is the link discussing the F400 S/K/L variants and bands(460 should be the same)

I'd you have any other questions that you need answered, I will be happy to help the best that I can.

It will definitely work on Att, as for the model I like the S but some people buy the K/L models because they tend to be cheaper.

H815 model differences?

I know there are multiple H815 models, The EU version being the only unlockable one right now.
My questions are;
1) what are all the H815 model numbers, and if the models numbers are not different for different locals, how to tell them apart?
2)What accessories come default in each local package? (I know some come with 2 back plates, some with headphones, some with mail in offers)
I would like to purchase a H815 EU model, but as of now I have no real way to tell if what I will be purchasing will be what I actually want until I try to unlock it.
*EDIT* I know this could be in Q&A but when this is answered, I would like to be able to edit this into an informative post to help others.
My h815 is from Taiwan. I know this because that's where it shipped from. Plus on the box it says h815 TW. But no where n the phone does it say TW. So the only way to know as far as I know is the box. Mine came with one set of headphones, one back, and us/TW charger for what it's worth

One way to tell apart differences between phones within the LGH815 model category seems to be to identify the suffix of the individual phone.
See post here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=61159318&postcount=68 for test of IMEI of phone that reveals the suffix particular to that phone.

Identifying U.S. Version

Hi,
I want to buy an HTC 10 through eBay or Amazon to save money. I don't want an international version because I understand that it can't use AT&T or Cricket LTE networks. The eBay and Amazon ads hardly ever say whether the phone for sale is a U.S. version or international version. Can anyone tell me how to identify the U.S. version of the phone, whether by UPC, model number or whatever?
Thanks

You might be able to find out from htc using the info you mentioned. They have a live chat, you could find out in a couple mins.

Get a close up photo of the back. US models in small lettering on the bottom say "Model: 2PS6500" International will say "2PS6200"
You could also ask for the IMEI (you should do this anyway to make sure the phone isn't blacklisted), and check it with ESN Checker which you can find here.
Thank You Both,
That's good advice. I am almost certain I saw one that was the htc2ps6500 version.

Is H815P different to the other models of H815?

Hi everyone,
The screen on my H815P broke. On eBay replacement screens are listed as being for the H815. Will these work? A shop in Luxembourg refused to repair my phone because of the extra "P" in my model number, which I understand means its a model sold in Latam and South Africa (strange because I bought the phone on Amazon.de).
Also, is there a way of knowing if the screen I buy really is a genuine LG screen?
Any help is really appreciated.
I think the main difference is the modem. I'm 99.99% sure that all G4 editions have the same (awesome battery hungry) screen. Also, the only way you can be certain you bought a genuine LG screen is by buying the screen from LG.
Hi. The main difference is the motherboard. H815 (no letter) can be bootloader unlocked and H815P doens´t. The rest is all the same. In case of the screen. I was replace the board from my H815P to H815 (same screen and battery) and works normally and fine.
In order to know if the screen is or not genuine, depends from shoper and rating by customers and other -buy&sell pages- matters.
If you purchase a screen, replace it without warry becausae it will work.

Cheers. I've gone through to the LG spare parts website, which belongs to an outside company and it requires the model number for the screen. How the heck am I supposed to know that?
Anyone know a link to a genuine screen that delivers in Europe? I've been checking out youtube videos and I might attempt this repair myself.

Thanks. If you know of a European supplier, please advise. I tried contacting a supposedly official LG parts supplier out of Portugal that was recommended on one of the threads here on xda but they haven't responded.
