Yep, ditto here. Not happening on my Tab S or phones.
I have the same issue, I think it is something to do with Chrome, as I also notice it when using Feedly's Chrome webview. It seems to randomly freeze, then it will be back to normal again a few seconds later. When it freezes, it is only the app that freezes, hitting the home button or dragging down the notification tray are not affected at all, not even a stutter
Same issue
Thought it was caused bydata compression turned on, but turning it off didn't help. No issues with Dolphin. Really annoying!
Same here, i get the same. This is the only issue I have found on my pixel c so far.
I have the same issue even with Opera and Android N Preview. So I bet it is not only a browser issue.

Opera is based on blink, I have never seen this in any other app, sonits likely a blink issue
It's quite clear nobody at Google uses a pixel c, as this would be fixed by now. Does this need reporting on. Android bug tracker, or chrome bug tracker?
Please contribute: https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=602179
(Avoid "me too" comments, only add to the tracker useful info), star it if it affects you.)
Well I never face that issue. But I'm using ad away.

I'm getting this on mine as well, Chrome only.

Yep. Chrome have this problem on all devices. Nexus 5, nvidia shield tablet, pixel c - exactly the same.
i get this on 'stable' chrome builds on the pixel c and used to see it often on th N9. I mainly use chrome dev and rarely if ever have this issue.

Can't confirm this. Chrome worked well on my M7. And now works without any issues on my M8. The Pixel C ist the first Device, where I've encountered this problem
It can assure you all that it is not Pixel C specific. I encounter the same issue quite often on the Nexus 6P. Not sure about the Nexus 9, that thing is just always slow and freezing all the time

For those who are using Adaway , try this.....
Use a file browser like root explorer.. Go to system/etc and change permissions of the host file to to rw-r-

Also can't confirm this, I have loads of Android devices around, none of them exhibit this behaviour, but the pixel C does it all the time, most times I use it.

I have the same problem. I have Jaxson from Google working it. Have sent up a bug report. I'll report back here when/if I get a response.
Have seen this on lightweight pages like wikipedia, so it not lots of ad junk. Monitoring in chrome 50 to see if its any better

Hey Guys,
This issue is driving me absolutely crazy. Since I've had my G Pad, I have never successfully gotten news.google.com to work. It loads, then disappears and I am left with a blank page. I refresh, nothing. I did a factory reset, nothing. I just upgraded to the 4.4.2 KitKat leaked build, nothing - same issue. I really don't want to have to install another browser just to get to Google's own news page!
Am I the only one here? This seems so simple, yet it's so frustrating. My LG G2 works fine, my wife's Galaxy S4 works fine, my Nexus 7 works fine, etc. All using Chrome!

I also can't get news.google.com to work with the default web browser or Google Chrome. But it work with UC Browser HD for Tablet. My G Pad is updated to kit Kat

I also have this issue but have you tried holding it in landscape orientation? Try both with auto rotate screen on. If you have the page loaded and go to landscape and then back to portrait it does work but still does not look correct.

It bears mentioning that the Google Newstand app is designed specifically to display Google News on mobile devices. Otherwise there are some excellent 3rd party apps to read Google New, the best of which is NewsHog, which I use. For the record, I use Firefox for Android and can easily see Google News, but NewsHog is a far superior experience IMHO.

When I press my power button while the phone is charging I see this. When I click the setting icon in top right I'm given the option to turn it off but I would rather just remove it completely. It doesn't have any identifying information so I don't know what's causing this. I've try a few adware/malware apps that aren't telling me anything.

Have you installed any apps recently? I'd start there. It probably asked for some permissions, such as notification access, so if you see anything unusual in there that could be it.

Its your keyboard-app. I bet you are using TouchPal.
It was the same for me. Touchpal is one of the greatest keyboard-apps IMHO, but lately they changed in the wrong direction with unwanted ads like 'Daily Summary' or 'Charging Lock Screen' or 'AppLock'.
I uninstalled it because of that.
Or the ES File Explorer app that recently admitted to presenting Ads in the lock screen.

Yea. This was it. I forgot to update the thread
There was an article at AP a week ago about that
http://www.androidpolice.com/2016/0...sion-of-lock-screen-adware-in-the-play-store/
There is a link to a spreadsheet in the article that contains list of apps that add this adware to your lockscreen without asking...

Just curious because I haven't read up on what apps caused this annoying problem but who kept the photo editor app installed?
I liked that app and it really sucks t nuts that I had to uninstall it.
If I remember correctly, there was an option to simply turn off that lock screen adware, right?
But mainly, who kept the app(s) causing this issue? It'd be nice to know if anyone did and if this was a serious issue (which I doubt) or should i have read this entire thread plus the article before posting this?

Try Snapseed, Google acquired it because it was considered the best free photo editing app.
No point using an app that has that lock screen adware. They deserve to be removed from the Play Store for violating the rules of displaying ads outside of their own app.

So I've owned my Pixel C since it came out, and have been a netflix user since that was made available in AU.
Its always been fine, but in the past week, when playing any show, the screen goes white, and flickers.
Youtube, and local files are all fine.....
Havent bothered to contact netflix yet, Anyone experienced this? Have reinstalled, cleared data, etc. No dice

I encourage you to contact them.
I did it over the weekend, and they asked for a short video and asked a few questions. They admitted that the issue lied on their end, as they selectively release updates to a small subset of devices/users to test issues before they go wider - think beta. I think the Pixel C got picked up in this beta and that they will roll out a fix shortly. I'd need to keep updating the app to wait for rectification.
Running Android O DP4, Netflix is working fine.
I upgrade to current Android O 8.0.0 and Netflix is scrambling some, but not all, videos, I get a fraction of a second of full screen then it goes scrambled. I downloaded latest from APK mirror, tried clear cache, clear data, uninstall reinstall, same problem. For example season 1 episode 1 of House of Cards.

I searched around to fix this myself, and seems I need to report it to NetFlix, but all the guides end up practically nowhere in reality. On the Pixel C Android NetFlix app there is no "report" button, I click to support and it goes to browser, which does not allow me to point to a video.
I can wait for this to be fixed, I have lots of non-NetFlix media I can watch.
Amazon Prime works fine! So seems, NetFlix buggy app on Pixel C is going to cause me to watch some Amazon Prime stuff instead.
I used to have the Netflix app on my Pixel C, but it is gone now. Additionally, it can't be installed from the play store. If I try to install it via the play store web app, when I select my Pixel C it says "Not compatible with this device."
It appears Netflix way of fixing the above problem was to disallow people from using Netflix on the Pixel C.

Yeah, for some reason I go to long press to select something and nothing happens, then if I let go, it just opens the app that I am long pressing on.
There is a setting in the Pixel Launcher that I found for it. Pixel settings - Suggestions - Overview selection. This was/is toggled on and it still is not working. I tried to toggle it off and back on again, no luck.
Very strange. I toggled it off and on and the option works for both. The obvious restarting your phone doesn't do anything?

No. I even tried toggling off, rebooting. Toggling on, rebooting....no luck.
Unless someone else has any other ideas, I will probably factory reset to see if that fixes it, which I am sure it will. DP4 is around the corner though, so I may just wait.

it only works if your system language is set to English US. google as usual being an a** by bringing features to US first.
I'm not sure which build it started in (I think it was there in DP2) but in DP3 and now also DP4 with my P2XL I don't have the option available to me in Gboard settings to synch learned words. I have the same version of Gboard installed on my OP3T running OOS 5.0.3 and the option is there. Is this consistent with other users or do I have a problem with my device? I don't know if it's psychosomatic or not but it seems like the suggestions surfaced by Gboard are of less value on my P2XL than they are on my OP3T and I'd like to attribute this to the fact that I can't synch learned words. TIA everyone.

It's just not there. I have the settings page for the Dictionary but the part about syncing with my gmail account is completely missing.
So yesterday I opted out of the Android P beta program, installed the rollback OTA via the automated tool and set up my phone from scratch. The option to sync my Gboard dictionary with my Gmail account is still just not there. Maybe I should call Google support now that my phone is running Oreo again.
Just upgraded to Pie and issue is still prevalent. I'm on Gboard beta and I tried uninstalling and trying different apks to no avail. This is very frustrating as typing sucks as all my synced shortcuts are not there
Has anyone reported that to Google? I have seen this on a few AOSP Roms that this Option is completely missing. Most people wont even notice but it just sucks to not have the words you saved before.

I think I agree, this may be an account issue. I just set up my old OPO with LineageOS 15.1 and I have the same problem there. I wonder what Google can even do about this? I hope I don't have to make a new account to get this functionality back.
I don't think so. The biggest problem will be to bring it to their attention to actively keep them looking into this matter.
As a sidenote, I just Dirty flashed Pie on top of Oreo and still have the Option. I hope the get this fixed for you guys :/
Looks like this version of Gboard brings this option back as per this thread .

This is indeed a lazy oversight on Googles Part. I remember the same thing happened with Google Photos. Remember the Option to have a floating Bubble on the Screen when you had taken a Photo with the GCamera? That was missing somehow after updating the App, going back to an older APK, activating the option and then update the App would make the option stick.
After official Pie was released, I still have the option just fine. [emoji53]
