6.0 to 4.4.2? - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Kinda of a small question? But is it possible to go back to 4.4.2 from 6.0 kinda like using the LG flash tool to get back to stock? Tried yesterday and got a model software error I never gotten before on 5.0 and below but when I got on 6.0 I can't flash to stock no more :/ hope there's some kind of solution might find it crazy I'm not to happy with the 6.0 myself for personal reasons.
Thanks in advance!!

[Q] D855 firmwares compatible with D855P?

Hi there!
Topic title is self explanatory.
Would like to know if anyone tried or know the answer for it.
Can I flash a stock firmware from a D855 to a D855P?
Mine LG G3 is D855P and come with the bloatware from the Carrier.
Thanks!

I'm on the same boat! Bought mine directly from TIM, here in Brazil...
I've read somewhere that the P letter refers to some kind of package bundle, like mine which came with the wireless charger... Just don't know it really is this way for sure...
Well, mine did come with the wireless charger as well.
Hope someone know the answer... My firmware version is 10a, from what I heard there are many improvements already on the newer ones.

That is an interesting question, and depending on the answer I will buy this phone. I think the fw is the same, since these model share the "D855" model.
Another question is: what is the worst scenario to try the flash? Maybe the phone will be in a bootloop, but flashing the right fw after will probably fix that
Maybe... But I'm afraid to brick it hahaha. Would like someone confirming it.
I'm with the same problem.
I think it's compatible, but I'm afraid of bricking it.

From this it looks like it's the same.. so it should work and not brick.
About the G3 TweakBox I can't say, mine is not rooted, so I can't try it.

I find another problem in my D855P.
I can´t change it from dalvik to ART... Can anyone do it?
Well I haven't tried, but I heard ART is having issues with LG G3... randomly turning off for example, what should be a incompatibility with LG code.

Totally agree, but some applications are having issues with that, Just like the others I need to know if it is safe to flash the d855 firmware in our d855p phones, my phone is from TElcel carrier in Mexico, I hope someone give us some light.
I managed to change from delvik to ART. my G3 is d855p from vivo.
Just really want to know about flashing...
I tried the Towelroot method and TWRP for D855 with success on my D855P v10a from Telcel (Mexico).
Mine ART is working well.

I tried to flash SphinX G3 Neo V2.0 with TWRP method but the one described in the post should work as well.
Now I have my first custom rom.
Hope this info can help you... I'm not responsable for any damage you could do to your phone. Always backup everything (system, boot, efs, recovery) before trying this.
You must choose D855 and not another model.
---
btw mine one is SIM-unlocked from carrrier Telcel, I tried to put a Tuenti simcard and it works XD
I have rooted using PurpleDrake-lite, worked smoothly.
Installed Xposed Frameworks and G3 TweakBox, all working.
One interesting think I checked was when I installed G3 TweakBox, I installed it from PlayStore on my computer, and the phone is listed as BCP LGE-D855... so I guess it's safe to flash the stock firmwares from D855, as "badtzo" said he did on his one from Mexico.
Later I will try to flash the European, Unbranded 10E version to mine, will report results.
As said before, reporting results.
Tried to flash Europe-NoBrand 16gb 10E version from this topic (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2799647), using method described there (LGFlashTool), not succeeded, it won't flash as it accuses to be different model phone.
"badtzo" flashed using TWRP, and said he succeeded with a custom room, so I have a question for him before trying something else...

Can you check if your phone model is showing as D855 on about now? If it does, we might have a way there, flash SphinX G3 Neo V2.0 and later do what I couldn't succeed for stock updated version.

No, mine info on phone still remain saying it is D855P, but stock one and moded build.prop says is D855, also Pc Suite says is D855 but it download D855P10A_00.kdz (telcel one). I tried that specific rom because it can be flashed through recovery, I don't recommend to flash any firmware via KDZ until we can be 100% sure about compatibility otherwise you can mess the bootloader and brick your phone. By now just flash roms that doesn't modify anything with boot.
I won't try, as I don't have much experience with LG's.
Guess we will have to wait a little more, new custom rooms and some more information.
By the way how did you install TWRP? I had a quick look for it and looks like there is no official LG G3 version yet.

In general section is a post about tethered TWRP for D855 "only". Don't try to flash it, I did it and my phone was acting weird, just do the specified steps on the post, to boot not flash from it and you will be safe and don't forget to backup your recovery first.

[Q] Little problem.. Need Help!!!!!

So I flashed LOLLIPOP on my F400L from http://bbs.gfan.com/forum.php?mod=v...xtra=page=1&filter=typeid&typeid=10913&page=1..
Now only Bug is that wifi is not working.. SO IF ANYONE COULD GIVE ME THE SOLUTION TO THIS and ONE MORE thing is i tried to revert back to 4.4.2 using tot but in flashtool it says the model is not compatible( After flashing lollipop my phone says its D855)... Now what to do....
I need solution for one thing only Wifi or I can revert back.. And its also not rooted....
Sorry for poor English....
What made you think it would be better to post a question on XDA instead of the link you just mentioned? As far as I can tell, XDA is is no way related to gfan.com or that ROM.
You'd be better off posting your questions in there, in your own language, to the developer/maintainer of the ROM.

i think that you need to read little more then just press flash button.
At XDA you can find many versions of Lollipop, you can try flash version from XDA. I am just not sure is there support for F400L, the most of them are for D855.
I am using official Poland version and everything is ok.
You can find it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/kdz-poland-lollipop-lg-g3-20a00-t2938255

I would root right now while you have the chance and install a custom lollipop rom.
After the official lollipop gets released by LG it will lock your bootloader, If you already have it unlocked.
Also it's rumored that root may not work on the G3 after the official lollipop update.

I think CloudyG3 1.2 -=- [All Variants] might work for you as a custom rom, He hasn't released lollipop version yet, It's still on 4.4.2 for now.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/development/rom-cloudyg3-1-0-t2917467
But when he does release the lollipop version it will be rooted!! and you will still have your bootloader unlocked!!
This is the rom I'm waiting for on my D852 since I'm pretty much in the same boat as you when it comes to not much development for my model.
You will lose root or bootloop if you OTA while rooted.
I've seen a lot of people get their G3's stuck in a bootloop from accepting a OTA while bootloader is unlocked too.
Personally I would just avoid any OTA's for now and stick with stock 4.4.2 or a custom rom, I'm itching to try lollipop too, sooo bad. but it's not worth being locked down!!

Thanks for the warning, Rev, but we really have to wait and see. If the lollipop update makes the phone more locked than an iPhone, LG has shot themselves in the foot since they don't serve the developers community. Quite frankly if everything seems to be locked, I hope that LG provides a way to unlock the bootloader.
