Found these instructions on Phandroid and thought I would share them with everyone. Worked like a charm for me. This will get rid of the Android Market app/icon on your phone and replace it with the Google Play Store.
1. Install or update to the latest version of Play Books, Play Movies, or Play
Music
2. Navigate to Settings > Apps > Market and hit “Clear data”
3. Open Play Books, Play Movies, or Play Music
4. Tap the Play Store icon and accept new terms of service
5. Welcome to the Google Play Store
Much easier way. Just clear data on market and uninstall updates, then after you open the market it updates to Play.
too bad you still cant rent any movies if you're rooted.

so whats the difference with the play market and how the music market was before....looks the same to me, except for a few new squares like play beats and play guitar......other than that its the same.
well that was a waste...the version number isn't even different despite a new TOS message. Either this doesn't work for the update or they just rebranded the old Android Market.

I followed the steps exactly as above and at first wasn't able to access the Android Market app anymore, it said it doesn't exist. I shut my phone off, turned it back on and I had a new app called Play Store. This app replaces the Android Market App.

It's pretty much the same ,Google Music, Google eBookstore, and the Android Market were combined to form Google Play. You can purchase music, movies, books, and apps at play.google.com, but those items will also be stored in the cloud. You'll be able to do the same thing on your Android phone or tablet using the various Google Play apps. More info below.

did it without clearing data for the market, just updated play music and hit the market button in it and it updated to play (market?).
Or you could just download this.
You will most likely have to reboot after installing it like I did.
Hello everyone. I currently own a Samsung Note 2 GT-N7108 purchased from China Mobile. I have been able to get all google apps to work besides the play store, play services, and google+. The play store opens and I see my account but I can't browse for any apps. The play services crash constantly and google+ just won't install. I have heard I can make the play store work with root but all the root methods I have tried have failed. Can any with similar experience recommend a root method or custom rom that will work with my model? Will I be able to flash a rom for the N7100 onto the N7108 without it breaking? Thanks.
Hello, I need all of your help today. I tried many times and reset my W10M many times just for clash of clans. I'm dying to play this game on my mobile. YES, please reply me on how to install clash of clan apk , I already installed it the day Lumia supported to install apks on WM10. The only help I need is to add google account on lumia oh clash of clans actually. I just need to restore my previous village. I tried installing google play services and play store but they don't worked out for me and play store doesn't seem to open perfectly. If you got solution, the help is appreciated for me.
Sorry, for bad English.
Thanks.
I'm not sure but if it requires google play store you are f*ked for now... I've tried many ways to get google play store to my phone but i was unsuccesful... I've only managed to make google play services to work but it's nothing until you get Google Play Store...
OK so I've successfully managed to get Google play services, framework, play store (non working of course) and login working on a non rooted firetv gen 2 5.2.4.0 and this is now allowing older games to work within the framework, although some can't login into the Google play.
Google play services however is requesting I update to the latest version and this hasn't yet been successful for me to find a compatible service. This is stopping me playing side loaded games like Dead Effect 2 etc as they require the new service and refuse to run without it being updated.
Has anyone managed to get a new version of play services and Google play to run on a non rooted fire TV ? Or failing that found a way to get side loaded games like Dead Effect 2 to run ?
Any help appreciated

Hi I was wondering if anybody has been able to get a working version of the nba app.
The UK aftv hasn't got an official release.
Ages ago you could side load a old version and get that working but that stopped over a year ago, there's been countless updates and I can't get any to work. It's currently at 8.0414
I've been able to get a version of Google store installed using the Google play music app tutorial I found on the forum so now the side loaded nba app doesn't ask for Google play to be installed, but after logging in the app opens and then closes a second later.
I've got nba league pass addon on kodi but it's awful to navigate and id much prefer to be using the official app.
The usa version nba digital doesn't work either btw as I can't log in as I have an international league pass account. Plus don't know if that will crash after log in as well.
Any help would be much appreciate! Thanks
Did you find any way to watch nba with the offical app?
I too tried with the usa version, but I can't login...
I tried to contact the nba app support, but they are not helpful...
