D858 firmware installed by mistake on D855 - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have installed incorrect firmware on my G3 D855.
After uploading the firmware for G3 D858 (Dual SIM) I don't seem to have any WiFi connection, nor SIM card can be connected. The biggest issue is, however, that the USB is not recognized anymore on my computer.
I have tried installing the latest LG drivers but this does not help. Download mode can be started, however, due to the USB issue phone does not appear in the device manager. I am afraid I have messed up the phone completely. Is there any possible idea how to recover to D855 firmware?
Thanks

Bootloop after Xposed install, Hard Reset not working

Hi there,
i rooted my G3 using Towelroot and all worked fine.
Today i installed the actual Version Xposed Framework and after rebooting it entered a Bootloop.
So i tried to Hard Reset my G3 but when i confirm it the Android with the Gaers show up for a second and then my G3 keeps showing the LG Logo for a few Minutes till i disassamble the Battery.
Next step i try is to flash a firmware in Download mode, but i cant get the Drivers to work... =(
Someone have some hints for me?

Have you choosen ART modality?
If i would say "what the hell is that" ... would u slap me?
No.. i dont have chosen that..
Bigger problem is that i dont get any usb driver working for firmware update in Download mode.. =(
OK... i managed to get the drivers working.
But further Problem ist now that im not able to flash anything on my device...
Neither the TOT Method, nor updating with the Original LG Support Tool is working...
Support Tool tells me my Model Number and that my Version is most actual.
If i update anyway it stucks at 4% and tell me it cant connect.
TOT Tool tells me that my Version Number is not correct... but it is..
With the KDZ Update Tool it stucks at 4% like the Original method.
Same problem here
Any one can help us?
Solution
Hi there,
the Problem was my PC...
I was on a Windows 8.1 64bit.
Switched to a Win7-PC and all is working fine.
You should try to use the Original LG cable, or another "Original" Cable and connect it to a USB-Port on the Back of your PC (directly to the Mainboard)
On a blank Win 7:
- I installed the LG PC Suite
- Updated the PC Suite
- Connected my LG in Download Mode
- Let the PC install all drivers,
- Disconnected the Phone
- Downloaded the actual LG Mobile Support Tool
- Let the Support tool do the work
After this i got my first OTA Update and its working like a charme

Hard Bricked D850PR

So the story goes as this:
ATT G3 accidentally flashed a D851 rom... phone rebooted now its a hard brick
I have tried every method to restore it to stock (lg flashtool 2014 and old flash tool method, tried enter TWRP nothing happened)
My phone is detected as it were in Download mode, but it doesnt let me flash anything.
I downloaded the "generic" LGUP8794.dll and tried to flash stock D850 and stock D851, jeez I even tried to flash LS990 stock rom... same error every time.
Downloaded stock D850PR20A_01.kdz and tried to flash it through Flashtool 2014 and just getting error...
I'm really out of options now.
I dont have warranty so its out of question the "return my phone" thing.
Thanks in advance for any reply or suggestion.
PD: I get no "QHUSB" or "fastboot" mode either.
Try using a different usb port. LG flash tool hates USB 3.0 so use USB 2.0

I have tried with 3 different computers, one with XP, Win7 and win8.1
I never use USB3.0 unless its with a memory stick
Can you go into download mode??
Sent from my SM-N910F using XDA Free mobile app
No, No Download mode, but my phone is connected as it were in download mode.
My screen is good, I know cuz when i connect the usb without battery it lights up and shows an image of "missing batt"
No TWRP either
Any update on this? I just rooted my D850PR and then used AutoREC to install TWRP, then I turned it off to reboot but it never booted...it also lights up the display when connecting the USB cable without the battery but that's all it does

i cant believe there is no clear solution for the LG G3 brick.
There is a solution
I have faced this issue with my LS990. accidentally flashed D855 ROM then bricked. THere is a unbricking method which is very hard and you have to do it with patience.
Try this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/unbrick-lg-g3-qhsusbbulk-qualcomm-9008-t3072091
You might want to short 2 pins of G3 motherboard. message me if this method didn't work.
Good luck matehttp://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/unbrick-lg-g3-qhsusbbulk-qualcomm-9008-t3072091
I had that problem, flashed d855 rom on a d850pr, and it went into bootloop, but I just went into recovery, flashed a D850 rom and everything worked fine. I did have your problem once, but with a LG Optimus L2, I tried on windows 8 and 7 but the LGflashtool always stop with errors, until I tried on XP, i could restore it. (sorry for the english)

Thank u. But the new method is only to upgrade or downgrade from 5.0 to 6.0. But not for upgrading from 4.4 to 5.0. Then how should I use? for kdz method,he mentioned the same LG flashtool 2014 method. ?????

you are right. use the lg flash tools 2014.
have you selected CSE flash?
are you using the correct KDZ for your cell?
what OS are you using?
have you installed the LG drivers?
what about the cable?
I personally do a hard reset before flashing a kdz.
I just updated my phone from LP to MM using the LG flash tool without a problem.

yeah. i am selecting CSE flash only.
I am using correc kdz .
My lappy is running on windows 10 and my phone is on kitkat v10n
The cable is 100% perfect as i flashed my g pro few days ago with the same laptop and same cable.
and coming to hard reset, I am unable to reset the phone. Just now I noticed that after selecting reset I went into black screen and can see "Fast boot mode" at the extreme top left of my phone. I switched it on and it booted back. What might be the problem.?

windows 10? I'd use windows 7 or 8.
your problem is not the flashtool. search for some tutorials about how to fix fast boot mode.

Cannot flash G4 H815 TWN with LGUP. Continual "Invalid TOT file" errors.

Hi All,
I received the official LG OTA MM update for my H815 (TWN) a week ago and I've just noticed that the bluetooth function now doesn't work at all. It won't even turn on and there is no MAC address associated with bluetooth in settings (It just says "unavailable"). On 5.1.1 bluetooth worked fine.
I've been trying all day to downgrade back to LP 5.1.1 using LGUP but it gives the "TOT file is invalid[1]" error with every KDZ file I have tried.
I have tried these KDZs:
Europe H81520C_00_1218.kdz
Europe OPEN H81510D.kdz
TWN H81520b_00_1218.kdz
The phone is running MM 6.0 and V20c
LGUP detects it as "H815" on COM4 when connected.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what I am doing wrong? I really need the bluetooth to work and this is soooooo frustrating.
Thanks in advance.

Flash recovery firmware using LG Bridge. That'll solve the problem.
You seem to have flashed wrong (partially incompatible) KDZ file on your device. Talking about H815 itself, there are multiple versions based upon provider and country. So flash recovery firmware, and dont do it when your device is on.
Here is how you should do it:
1. Download LG bridge on your computer.
2. Switch off your Device, pull out your battery.
3. Attach your USB Cable from desktop to mobile
4. Hold volume up button, and put your battery while holding it. It should switch on itself if the USB is attached and you are holding volume up before putting in battery.
5. Once its on Bootloader, flash firmware recovery from LG Bridge.

Thanks Dark$tar. I did what you suggested and the LGbridge reinstalled MM6.0 onto the phone. I then did a hard reset and nothing is different. The bluetooth functionality still doesn't work at all and any attempt to flash the phone with LGUP still givers the "TOT file is invalid[1]" error with every KDZ I have. Thanks for your help though, at least I know I can recover the phone with LGBridge should I need to again.

Glad to hear that I could help! Also, if your bluetooth is still not working, it seems to be a hardware issue. Now that you have flashed the stock firmware via LG Bridge, you can claim warranty and get it fixed!

Also, though I think you wouldn't have made this mistake but since you mentioned it installed MM, so I want to ask:
Did you click on firmware upgrade or the firmware recovery? Note that the firmware update will simply use the base OS files and will replace the new ones and recovery firmware will replace the entire OS (refurbished). The Recovery Option is on Bottom right, in form of text which you need to click whereas the update option is the button on the same screen in the center that you don't have to click. Both of them have completely different functionality.
If you have done it right, well then I am 90% certain its the hardware issue. But I believe that the firmware backup is likely to install the November's released version of LP not MM (unless LG has recently changed that) which is why I am wondering.
Yeah, I clicked the blue recovery text in the Bottom right corner. It definitely installed MM 6.0 onto the phone.
Also, I have found out the cause of the bluetooth issue and unfortunately I have to wait for the next Android update. There was a large discussion on code.google.com about the exact problem I have and the current workaround requires the phone to be rooted. I don't think it's possible to root the H815 TWN yet.

LG Bridge for software reinstall

Hi all,
I was wondering, once I have custom firmware and recovery on my lg g4, will I be able to reinstall the software from LG Bridge. I understand that I could use the kdz downloaded by it in LG UP, but I was wondering, if I put my phone in download mode, could the update error recovery utility in LG Bridge also reinstall it?
Thanks in advance for your help

I tried this recently just to see what it does, but it even didn't recognize the phone. So you probably need to use LGUP (which I used to go back to stock on my G4) or TWRP to flash something else.

I just tried it and interestingly if the phone is in download mode, it does get recognized as an LG device and will initiate an Update Error Recovery
