hi all
Since this morning i have noticed that all of a sudden quite a lot of apps are no longer able to be downloaded from the marketplace... it just says for apps like Facebook and Google Maps, "This app is incompatible with your 3 Samsung GT-I9100."
Is this a carrier issue? or an Android Marketplace issue?
It's the same whichever ROM i am using at the moment... it was fine yesterday but since then... a no-go.
I have tried using market enabler... nothing...
Downloading from Laptop (via Marketplace in browser) .... same problem...
Any ideas?
I'm getting this with some apps to.

Hi there,
Thanks for writing in to me today. I apologize if you're having some download issues with Android Market today. I don't know of any specific issues that may be causing the problems you may be having. Let's do the following troubleshooting steps to fix it:
- Cancel and restart the download(s)
- Reboot your device
- Sign in and out of Google Talk repeatedly to restore connection to our servers:
1. Go to your device’s app launcher, and press the Talk app
2. If you’re already signed into Talk, press Menu, and then touch Sign out
3. Launch Talk again to sign in (if you are unable to sign in, please let me know)
- Clear your Market cache and data (Settings > Applications > Manage applications > All tab > Market > Clear cache and Clear data)
- Ensure there is at least 20MB of free space on your device
- Try your download(s) using both WiFi and network (3G/4G) connections
- Try to initiate your download from the Web (market.android.com) instead of the device
- Confirm that there is strong connectivity on your device, and contact your mobile service provider if you aren't connected
- Uninstall Market updates by visiting:
Settings > Applications > Manage Applications> All tab > Market > Uninstall updates
If none of these steps resolve the issue, please let me know, and I will continue to investigate the problem - any other detail you can provide about the issue and how/when it occurs will be extremely helpful.
Best regards,
Jim

I can download some apps fine... But all of a sudden a vast number are suddenly not compatible with my device... I.e. Facebook and google maps. It also states it is incompatible when attempting to download from my desktop.
These apps were compatible yesterday but now they are not.
Nothing has changed on my device
Can you help?
Thanks

Hello again,
Thanks for writing back. I don't see any reason why those apps would now be showing up as incompatible on your Galaxy. Is this a new Galaxy device for you? I see it being registered with your account today for the first time, but no previous entries for a Galaxy S II device on your [email protected] account. The last device on your account I see before the Galaxy is an HTC HD2.
You mentioned you performed a factory data reset before this issue starting occurring. It's possible something didn't go quite right with that. I recommend you perform a factory reset one more time on your device if possible. Please note that this will reset your device to its original state. While your media content (photos, music, etc.) will not be deleted from the SD card, applications and their related data will be uninstalled.
Before the factory reset, make sure that your contacts are synced to your Google account by logging into Gmail from a computer and verifying if your contacts appear there. If your contacts are not synced, then I recommend updating your sync settings at Settings > Accounts and Sync and choosing either AutoSync or touching the account you would like to sync and choosing "Sync Contacts."
Along with syncing contacts, please back up any important application data and/or settings by navigating to Settings > Privacy and selecting "Back up my data'"and "Automatic restore."
To perform a factory reset:
1) Go to Home > Menu > Settings > Privacy (or Phone storage; depends on the device)
2) Press "Factory data reset"
3) Press "Reset phone" (or "Reset tablet")
After you perform the factory reset, make sure you sign into your device with the same primary Google Account you were using before. If this doesn't resolve the issue, please let me know so I can continue to investigate. Have a great day!
Regards,
Jim

Hi, did you ever fix this? My phone is in the same state. No Facebook, no Google maps, and most other apps wont install - "This app is incompatible with your 3 Samsung GT-I9100."
I had the same problem, but my problem was due to changed DPI settings in my SGS2.
I had it on 222 and 225 but Market did not work, put back 240 on DPI and it works.
Market doesn't like multi DPI it seems :-(
Thank you - that's exactly what it was. When I set it back to 240 I had 34 market updates available. Probably is why a change of DPI is not practical on the SGS2.
Thank you again
Use old market and everything works fine
Send from my HyperDroid using Tapatalk
Every time I change the DPI using root explorer It gets back to original 230
any idea??
I need to change it coz half of my apps aren't working because of this issue I believe
n I tried the umount SD thing it didn't work for me
My rom is the Resurrection Remix ics Rom v9.1 Ultimate XXLB 4.0.3 Full-Wipe
n I tell ya it's coooooooooooool except for this bug

Isnt the default dpi 240??
Anyways... I didnt use the root explorer method... I just use this...
ROM Toolbox Lite from Google Play
Performance>build.prop Tweaks> LCD Density
Apparently, the above mentioned solution didnt help me either... I would just change back to default dpi... Wait a while... Update my apps... Then change it back... Troublesome... But its worth it i guess... FYI, im on foxhound ROM and i set my dpi at 182...
[I didn't realize there is this HTC Desire specific subforum, so I'm copypasting my question from General Q&A forum].
I've been running Miui happily for over a year on my HTC Desire, just to notice last week that wifi works only right after power-up (not reboot!) and until switched off. After that, it won't start again. I've tried different things, roms, clean installs, just to confirm the same behaviour, regardless of the rom installed. Detailed explanation is available here:
[EDIT: Being a new member, I'm not allowed to post links. So here it is, 'unlinked': http is.gd slash pZ1TDo ]

Please help, what to do next?

When you have the error, open a terminal and type dmesg.
Please paste the output here.
You can redirect the output by typing "dmesg > /sdcard/file.txt" ( Without quotes )

Hello, thanks for reply.
Here's the output (too big for copypaste here):

Sorry, still not allowed to paste links.
The bcm4329 module seems ok.
Sometimes when i use the widget to power on/off wifi, it won't connect.
To get wifi working, I go into wifi settings and power on the wifi here.
Could you try like this and tell us if this working ?

I tried all of the combinations - settings/wireless, status bar, specific widgets - nothing works. At least I have consistent behaviour
This is my original post on miui forum (when I thougt it was miui related). It explains what actions I performed while trying to nail the problem. Still no luck.
Code:
Hello,
Recently I've noticed that wifi on my HTC Desire is acting very strangely - it connects just the first time after reboot, every other time I get "Error" message in Wifi settings. Where I can check what actually went wrong?
After looking in the logs, I hope to have more information on this issue, but for now I believe it's hardware related, since the same problem appears even with the fresh install of the latest MIUI or after restoring a backup.
Thanks.

You can use the MIUI Android Logcat miuiandroid.com / community/link-forums/logcat.82/
Or you could try a fresh download install again : reboot into cwm, factory reset > wipe dalvik > clear cache partition install rom
But try the logcat and also check you router etc and other things that may influence.

Hello Pele,
Thanks for the reply.
I've tried already clean install with wiping everything, even restored an old bkp which for sure is correct, but all without luck. I don't think it's a router thing, since the same problem appears regardless of my location (at home, at work... all the same). I'll join the miui irc chat, good idea, thanks!
Regarding the logcat - the link you sent is just a form for pasting logs - am I seeing it correctly?. Is there some specific miui logcal app? I've installed 'aLogcat' which seems good, but I couldn't find anything on *wifi* or *wpa* which could indicate some sort of error in any of the logs aLogcat is displaying.
Cheers,
mblenton

Hello Pele,
I've tried several combinations of rom/backup flashing, titanium backup restore etc. but the problem persists, even on a clean installation with just one accesspoint defined.

Yes, you need a logcat to further figure this out.

Hello iBotPeaches, thanks for the link, I didn't realize Pele's refering to that logcat. I'll have to set up abd, though.
In the mean time, I've tried the following (plus the actions described earlier):
- Format system and boot partitions (since Wipe Data/Factory Reset doesn't do that) and clean latest miui install
- Clean Cyanogenmod install
Nothing's changed, I still can connect to wifi network the first time after power up, and then all I get is 'Error' msg. Interesting, but reboot doesn't actually help, just power off/power on.

Hello again,
I've installed adb and used logcat to generate this file: ge.tt /9UkgUaF/v/0?c
I'm not quite sure what would be interesting for debugging purposes, so I performed the following procedure:
0. Wifi is enabled, but not working; power down the device; start adb logcat - waiting for device -
1. Power on (wifi will be enabled and connected to SSID Hotspot)
2. Open browser, open google (everything works)
3. Close browser, turn off wifi (via status bar, but it doesn't make any difference)
4. Open settings, try to turn on wifi
5. Wifi couldn't be turned on, 'Error' message is displayed
6. Power down the phone
Thanks in advance!

Yet another update, not I'm pretty sure this issue is not miui related.
I've installed Gingerbread RUU and performed the power-on/wifi-on--works/wifi-off--won't-start-anymore procedure with the same results. Here are the logs: ge.tt /9sOVXbF/v/0?c
Where I should look for help?
Ok, after you got the error, go in a terminal and type lsmod ( list loaded modules )
If you see the bcm4329 loaded ( wifi module ), go in a terminal and type modprobe -r bcm4329 ( unload module )
Verify with lsmod if the module is unload.
After that, try to activate the wifi in settings/wireless. Twice if the first gives you an error, it should "unload" the first time, and the second time it should load.
I just tested by inducing an error.
Tell us is this work !
Hello again,
I've tried what you suggested, and this is the result:
Issuing lsmod while wireless is OK:
bcm4329 200131 0 - Live 0xbf000000
After turning off wireless, lsmod doesn't display anything.
After trying to turn wireless back on, lsmod also doesn't display anything, regardless of the times I tried to turn wireless on (and getting Error every time is Settings)
modprobe bcm4329 returns
modprobe: 'bcm4329.ko': invalid parameter
insmod bcm4329 or bcm4329.ko says it can't open bcm4329 (.ko)
So, the linux system under the android seems to be working ok.
Hi,
Ok, after power off/on wifi, the driver doesn't load :/
With some tests and by inducing an error, it works on my side
When you have the error, try this as root :
Code:
su
lsmod ( if bcm4329 is loaded then rmmod bcm4329 )
svc wifi enable ( it's to turn on wifi manually, I waited a few seconds, and everything was properly unloaded ! And wifi off.. idk why )
svc wifi enable ( if the first time it didn't work, it worked for me, it might work for you )
svc wifi disable
but I've intentionally caused an error, not you. And i think that svc is the same as widget/settings..
BTW, for insmod you need to give the full path of the module : /system/lib/modules/bcm4329.ko and the fw path, but it will not work like that you need to set/config interface etc.. I'll try to do it manually.
I just looked quickly one of your old logcat because i'm tired and i'm going to sleep, I'll look more in detail this night if we can find the most important thing : what causes this problem.

Hello,
Thank you for attepts to help me, unfortunatelly none of your advices haven't succeeded to turn on wifi once it was turned off. I don't know what to do next. I actually keep it turned on all the time, and it works OK. Not quite happy with that
Hi mblenton,
Ok
I just found how to really turn on the wifi manually.
First, in a root terminal run : getprop wifi.interface, I have eth0, if you have another interface, replace the following by yours.
After error, make sure your eth0 interface is down by running in a root terminal "netcfg" you'll not find eth0 interface, or "ifconfig eth0" must return " eth0: No such device " same for "iwconfig eth0".
If eth0 is up, run as root : "ifconfig eth0 down" and retry to turn on wifi as usual.. maybe it will work.
If not, make sure bcm4329 module isn't loaded ( lsmod ), make sure eth0 is down and try this :
Code:
su
modprobe bcm4329 firmware_path=/system/vendor/firmware/fw_bcm4329_apsta.bin
start wpa_supplicant
dhcpcd -BKL eth0 &
If "modprobe bcm4329 firmware_path=/system/vendor/firmware/fw_bcm4329_apsta.bin" return you an error, try this :
Code:
insmod /system/lib/modules/bcm4329.ko firmware_path=/system/vendor/firmware/fw_bcm4329_apsta.bin
But it's better to load a module with modprobe.
What the commands do :
1) Be root
2) Is for loading module and firmware properly
3) Start wpa_supplicant as service with right user, and load your wireless config
4) Run dhcpcd on background for getting an ip by dhcp ( which implies not have configured the ip manually )
If the wireless icon is not activated in notification bar, it's normal.
ping -c2 google.com or open a browser and try a google search, it worked for me..
If it work for you, cool, we can make a bash script to get the wifi works temporarily, the time to found the cause of the malfunction !
A guy that I helped had a problem with bluetooth, it was a permission problem.. he found a fix :

Hello
I wanted to change my DNS tablet
I changed the file 20-dns.conf v
My tablet is not connected to the Internet
I even delete the two lines
I re-download the file and replace it even
But it is not connected to the Internet
I added two lines to the file 20-dns.conf:
setprop dhcp.eth0.dns1 8.8.4.4
setprop dhcp.eth0.dns2 8.8.8.8
File 20-dns.conf:
system / etc / dhcpcd / dhcpcd-hooks / 20-dns.conf
My tablet is rooted
To play it safe
My advice, to play it safe, backup all media from your device, Complete Wipe and reinstall. That should restore everything to its factory settings.
Dear Sony Smartwatch 3 users, I am from Germany and wanted to let you participate in my power saving list. In hours of testing I have found out which progranme the clock for measuring needs and which can be switched off. Switching off brings the advantage that the programs after a clock reset also still remain disabled. If you delete or uninstall these would otherwise be there and active. You need root for my instructions on the clock I describe where you find the instructions to find root for this Sony Smartwatch 3 with the software LCA43. As soon as the clock has root you can download on your mobile root Essentails via this you can each program individually deactivate. Have here in hour-long work all the services are expelled and these are provided with pictures. So you know what you have to delete this has also countless times tested my watch measures and runs well as you should. To whom does this help? This saves electricity and thus gives you a longer battery life! And here is the link to my English energy saving list as a great success. On feedbacks whether it worked with you and how much longer your clock is running I would be delighted .
For a longer and better diabetes measurement function on the Sony Smartwatch 3 who helps here?
Dear Sony Smartwatch 3 Libre Alarm users,
For deactivating and / or uninstalling the apps listed below, you need a smartwatch with root (without it), as you get for the Smartwatch 3 Root you find in this manual (with firmware LCA43 needed for open NFC interface):
forum.xda-developers.com/smartwatch-3/development/lwx49k-rooting-easy-t3107501
I can tell for me that this disable or delete this Smartwatch programs with me the clock further measure that the clock even more quickly measures. Despite this, the deactivation of these programs is at the user's own responsibility. Since I can not judge which programs are needed by you. I have only determined by my own tests that the deactivation of these programs with me has no effect on libre alarm and also no on xDrip has. Since cell phones but system conditionally different parts are very different I can not speak for all users especially since I use a Sony mobile phone for the alarm system. Therefore, I advise you with caution to gradually deactivate the programs to see if the clock continues to measure values. Now you probably wonder why disable this? Because this offers the advantage, if you get updates to the programs on the clock that the programs do not become active during deactivation, but these would be after updates or a new set up of the clock program to be back on and work again. You can also uninstall the apps, but you are there for updates and / or when you reset the clock programs.
The easiest way to disable / uninstall / delete apps is through the App Root Essentials app from the Google Play Store, which can be found at in your Mobile Phone google Play Store!
And so you disable a program with root essentials (you must tap on the clock):
1. Open Root Essentials, open app manager, scroll under the selected app and tap the app to open
the structure.
Click on Disable in Tools and the app is disabled!

Hello. I have seen. Thanks!
I will answer later.
Build number M1D64T
I just got a new SWR50 for the sole purpose of using NFC (with FreeStyle Libre). When turned on for the first time watch automatically upgrades to M1D64T and I don't seem to be able to stop that and don't seem to be able to downgrade to be able to use this package. Any suggestions?
Thanks
This worked for me.

Thanks. After a desperate night I posted the above. Later I found the guide you also mentioned and another night later it worked. Still little issues with Glimp etc, but promising. Have you seen the Glimbee 3D printable case for the phone? I hope to have it printed in the coming days.

Dual smartwatches?

So it would be possible to use two Sony Smartwatch 3, one for CVG and another one for reading measuring results?
Is a Phone needed inbetween to get The two clocks to run together?
Is there a way to disable the watch vibration when NFC communication takes place between the watch and the sensor? (We are using Glimp) Thanks
This is not a Problem

Hello, Yes it is possible I use that, you then need 2 Sony Smartwatch 3 and can place the one to the measurement on the sensor while the second displays the values at the wrist. In between you need an Android phone whereby a Sony Android mobile phone is the best because of the high compatibility.

You must press the 3 strokes in Librealarm on the left side, there you have to set the warning limits of Librealarm at too low a value of 10 and if the value is too high a value of 999 then the vibrating alarm of the clock will no longer trigger. But please do not take any other alarms from Libre Alarm any more. Therefore, it is important to note that the Glimp has its own alarm function which can replace the one, think it helps you further or?
Difficulties with Glimp
I restored to a previous version of watch, unrooting and removing the settings mentioned at the beginning of this thread and Glimp seems to be working.
))
Clock keeps bugging me with "Charge the watch to update to MECH24H "
Is there any way to block this update / notification?
Does any one else have this problem after activating NFC?
I have downgraded to LCA43, and activated NFC
I just rebooted and the clue disappeared. Then I for the sake of interest, clicked on to update .... the update was downloaded, but when I tried to install it I gave an error and it did not stop. The clock rebooted and continued to work as before
LibreAlarm Connection Problem
Hi perhaps you can help me? I have connection problem with LibreAlarm between my phone and smartwatch, it says 'not connected'.
I have Sony Smartwatch 3 downgraded to LCA43, with NFC installed and running correctly on the watch (I have verified this by using Glimp)
I am running latest version of Android Wear (2.0.0.151760697) and LibreAlarm (1.0.4) on Sony Experia X (Android 7.0).
I have tried everything including many resets, reinstalls and older versions of Android Wear and LibreAlarm but I cannot get connection between LibreAlarm on phone and the watch.
Do you know anything else that I can try?
Thanks,
Richard
OK, I think I have discovered how to skip Google sign-in by mistake when setting up NSTV 2019 for the first time. Don't know what firmware I have since it is brand new and I am just connecting it for the first time.
So on the setting up process I did the following:
1. Choose Language
2. Quick set up your TV with Android phone: Skip
3. When asking for Wi-Fi connection, connect NSTV to Ethernet cable to give it access to internet (important).
4. Once connected to the internet, it will ask you to Sign In with google. Click in sign-in.
5. Select "Use your remote" and while loading quickly disconnect the Ethernet cable. this should take you to back the wi-Fi connection screen again.
6. Press the "back" arrow in your remote control. The one next to the circle (home).
7. It should now show you the walk through menu.
Hope it helps. It is now downloading an update. I'll test if work afterwords.
Edit: Can confirm it still works in firmware 8.2.1
thanks a lot, it worked, i have the newest firmware.
i also uninstalled the following apps/packages with adb through shell:
com.google.android.katniss
com.android.vending
com.google.android.inputmethod.latin
com.google.android.apps.inputmethod.zhuyin
com.google.android.inputmethod.korean
com.google.android.inputmethod.pinyin
com.android.inputmethod.latin
so i uninstalled the google play store (f-droid and aurora store instead) gboard and the google voice input/voice activation.
do you/anyone know which google apps/packages are important that all is working good?
I also wanted to uninstall the google play services, but then chromecast will not work (not important for me)
but I do not know what else would not work, anyone have done this/complete degoogled?
i thought of the following:
Google Backup-Transfer com.google.android.backuptransport
Google Calendar-Synchronisation com.google.android.syncadapters.calendar
Google One Time Init com.google.android.onetimeinitializer
Google Partner Setup com.google.android.partnersetup

Can confirm as well that this works with 8.2.0 . If you want root and 8.2.1 do this:
First start fresh with 8.2.0 from nvidia website. bypass google the way mentioned above. update firmware to latest version.
when all is done then reboot to bootloader - flash vbmeta_skip.img from 8.1 developer image
boot TWRP and install latest Magisk Manager.
If bootloop try flashing vbmeta_skip again after magisk manager
Done

What I did is I rooted with instructions above that I wrote.
Then install AFWall+ - plugin Mouse - open and allow only internet access to the few apps you need. Then the rest will not have internet access regardless. Only thing from the system you can also allow extra in AFWall+ is adb (if you use that, i believe via network), and mDNS for multicats dns, and also DOwnload manager.
The rest is not essential to use.
Also go adb connect to the device and do adb shell and change captive portal login:
settings put global captive_portal_http_url http://captiveportal.kuketz.de
settings put global captive_portal_https_url https://captiveportal.kuketz.de
settings put global captive_portal_fallback_url http://captiveportal.kuketz.de
settings put global captive_portal_other_fallback_urls http://captiveportal.kuketz.de
---
If you want to uninstall crap then just install f-droid and from there install appmanager (requires root). Then just go through the list and uninstall that crap as you mentioned before as well as:
Intent Filter Verification
And for true degoogle of course google frame services, google playstore etc etc..
Then if you need apps you get it from f-droid or aurora store..
Good luck have fun
