hello. please, i have h818p but the same thing is for other models. if i don't want upgrade to marshmallow, how can i remove annoying update notification??? thanks
Turn off notifications for Google play services. Also, you can find the update.zip and replace it with an empty file.
please can help me to tell me:
1. have i to do both things?
2. the second thing (update.zip replacing) how can i do step by step?
thanks
Only turning off notifications for Google play services will remove the OTA nag. Replacing update.zip is added insurance. I'm not running LL anymore, so I forget exactly where that file is but I think it's under cache. Just delete update.zip and create a new file and rename it to update.zip
perhaps because i have 818p (dual sim version) but no one of these steps work.....
other way?
noone know if is possible??? i dont' want install marshmallow.. battery drain is very strong!!!

Ok here is the situation: I was messing with titanium backup on my xperia play and noticed some apps that didn't exist (or so I think). They were all red in titanium (yes I know I was dumb for randomly deleting them) and I think I deleted something necessary for installing Apk files.
Now in google play I get error 406 whenever I install something and when I try to install apk files manually in a file explorer it says I have no application that can read this. (Now I can probably manually move packages in root explorer to install things, but that's tedious). So my question is what did I uninstall and how can I fix this?
Also if someone has an apk of what I don't have, please post it. Once I have it I can probably handle it from there.
just reflash the firmware on flashtool. Nice, easy and also covers up the other problems.
It appears I lost my ability to look up my contact info too.
Does anyone have all the stock applications available?

OK, today I received an android update notification for something that's 87.1 mb. I have a D851 running SR Lollipop G3 v. 4.0 (krowley3). I have OTA disabled in the engineering menu. I checked the cache and there's no file there yet. So... Does anyone know what this is, how it got around the engineering menu ota disable, and the easiest way to turn off the notification? *I long pressed the notification and it showed as Google Play services?? Now I'm really confused. Any thought? Thanks in advance.
Alright, I think I answered part of my question. I went and read the T-Mobile update information on 20e and it shows a 87.1 mb download. I wouldn't have thought it to be that small, but it is. So that leaves me with wanting to get rid of the notification nagging me every time I turn on the phone. Thanks in advance for your help.

Using a root explorer like ES File Explorer go to /cache/ folder and delete the update.zip file. Reboot your phone. If the notification is still there go back to /cache/ folder and make sure that file is not there. Then just take the OTA and it should error out because the zip file you deleted. The notification should be gone after booting up your phone again. But make sure you DELETE the UPDATE.ZIP before accepting the update from the notification.
This thread here by Autoprime should help you if my method doesn't work:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/development/psa-stop-taking-ota-updates-update-t2909412
Went through the thread then went through the system files looking for anything obviously related to fota etc. , but nothing popped out that I felt comfortable modifying. I never downloaded the update so cache was empty. I eventually long pressed the notification (google Play services) and unchecked notifications. It got rid of notification. I guess I'll probably have manually check to update any apps, but I'll gladly take that over the never ending notification. Thanks again to all for the responses/help.
Can someone help me? When I try to turn on data I CAN receive data from mobile network but the status bar doesn't show if I'm getting 4G/3G/H+, just a plain signal bar without those symbols.
My device is the D855 international variant running Android Marshmallow v30b Rooted with v21A modem.

you have to have installed root explorer for examle and you search system/app and there is the LTEconfigs folder
you can download root explorer from here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=846204
hope this helped you.
P.S. I hope that you will make a backup on sd card for example on the folder to be able to restore it back if anything goes bad
i doesn't work .. I have the same issue I'm connected to LTE but I don't have the icon

I don't know what I was thinking but last night (new Years Eve) I went onto apkmirror and downloaded the latest OOS stock camera for op8 oss11... Clearly I had to much water and o.j. . . Anyways I installed it which went fine until I opened it... Black screen. I tried to downgrade back but of course it won't downgrade. These are the times I miss system root. When I would be able to just delete the system file and then install the correct one. Does anyone know how I can replace the new camera apk with the correct one easily... Meaning without flashing my phone.. I know that on magsik they have a app systemizer module.. Does that work on reverse so I can do it that way. Over the years I have step back from playing with my phone but I still know how to follow directions lol.. any help would be awesome.. thank you in advance.
Nevermind. I did a local upgrade of the same version OOS that I am using as to not affect the data.. Just need to Re-Freeze the undesirable apks... Which is not a big issue.. TY anyways.
I'm having the exact same issue.
I don't want to reinstall my OS.
If anyone can be so kind to extract their OnePlus Camera Apk and attach it here please.

Reinstalling your current version as a “local upgrade “ doesn't “reinstall” your OS (doesn't wipe anything). Just make sure you follow the Magisk installation steps so you don't lose root.
