I have noticed something weird with my device. When I connect my device into a computer or laptop running on Windows 7 and then view the contents of my "sdcard folder" or the /storage/emulated/0/ directory, there are some files and folders that can't be seen.
Those files and folders, however, can be viewed in an explorer app within the device such as Root Explorer or if I access my device from my computer through SSHDroid using WinSCP or command terminal like Putty.
I'm attaching a screen shot of what it looks like.

Do anyone here knows what's the issue in here, what caused this, and a way to fix this?
I'm running on stock rom 6.0.1 build number MMB29V, and my device is rooted.
Thanks in advance!
open Media Storage settings
clear data
reboot
@{fd}ware, I had the settings in Windows correctly. I learned from further reading from other sources that this isn't about the Windows Explorer settings. It was about the media storage rebuilding or refreshing.
Just like what @k23m responded, I have to clear media storage data and reboot the device to rebuild it.

So i'm running ParanoidAndroid ROM on my phone and have flashed at least 8 ROM's to my phone, each time praying I don't lose my IMEI since there seems to be no rhyme or reason why people are losing it. So I finally decided I should backup my IMEI just in case. I chose to use Geek's method to do so since it seems the easiest way to do it, however, typing out the lines of script manually seems awfully tedious so I decided to try to use gScript Lite. Problem is I have no idea what the hell i'm doing.
This is what I have done so far:
Installed GSL on my phone. Installed Notepad+ on my Windows 7 PC and copied and pasted the lines of script to NPP, one for enabling diag mode and one for disabling diag mode. After copying each set of script to NPP, I saved the file as a .sh file. At this point I think I should move said files to my sdcard and import them via GSL. Does this sound about right? I have no clue here and am just winging it but would like some input from those who know what's up before I fuxor my phone.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
**Edit**
I went ahead and saved the file to my sdcard in the gscript folder and imported them and created the scripts

Hi , I have a file issue with my SF2 , I wanted to put my media default folders in my SD card , but I made a mistake with the picture fodler and I put it on the root of the SD . So now my picture folder is a shortcut to my SD card I can't revert the action . When I right-click properties , it shows the SD volume information and no longer the picture folder it was.
how to revert it ?

It's messy, but you could try the registry.
Run regedit (hit Start or Win+R, type "regedit" without quotes, hit Enter, approve UAC prompt).
Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders
Edit the strings in the relevant registry values, such as "My Pictures".
Log out and log in again (or just restart).
I can't promise it will work - your error is weird and I've never seen it before - but hopefully it will.
Yeah it worked ! I had to do it ten times after removing and re-insert the SD but it finally worked
thank you !!
When I plug my phone into my PC it offers me the option to expose the phone as a virtual CD ROM drive presumably mounting an ISO on the filesystem.

Think it'd be possible to change the ISO to mount windows 10 or linux live CDs?
edit: Seems the file mounted is /system/etc/PCTOOL.iso and seems like my PC would boot from it...
This is that the drivedroid app does, if that helps any

If you replace /system/etc/PCTOOL.ISO with another valid ISO file, that'll mount when you choose that option. This was done a long time ago on the EVO 4G LTE. The ISO was replaced with adb & fastboot tools and an automatic command prompt.
See here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1720559
I don't see why something like that can be done on the 10 as well.
P.S. At one point I even tried running Ubuntu from it, but that got crazy, lol
Drivedroid requires root, was more of a thought exercise to avoid rooting the device.
I am trying to write files on my OnePlus 9 Pro running Android 11. Whenever I try to copy files on Android/Data/ It shows unable to copy files. I tried Total commander, X-plorer, Mixplorer and Google Files. But still unable to copy/ move files to the Android/Data directory. Please help
That's a system folder, you're not supposed to use it.
If you want to force it, you can use Root Explorer (With root access via Magisk obviously), you'll get the following :

Agree to that and you can access the folder:

Is there any way to access the files without rooting the device?
Hello.
I have had the PowerAmp app installed on other mobiles and I never had any problems.
Now with my Honor Magic 4 Pro gives me an error when editing the information of a song.
Indicates that I don't have write access to the files And that allows access.
How much pulse to activate the permission is when the error message comes out.
I have Nova launcher installed and I don't know if it would have anything to do with it.
Anyone else who has this problem?
Best regards.

Sounds like scoped storage raising it's ugly head.
Try using a file manager that works in Android 11/12. You should be able to edit common user (or whatever their terminology for it is) files.
As best I know Poweramp doesn't allow editing the music database unless you grant it access which I strongly advice against doing. Best practice is to use a file manager instead in order to better protect your music database.
I refuse to load Android 11 or 12 on my devices mostly because of scoped storage... blah
