Hi,
I recently received a new unlocked verizon samsung note 4.
Since I live in Israel, I inserted a local SIM card but for some reason I get the above message.
No network, no calls.... Just a very expensive brick....
I tried hard reset, switching SIM cards from different networks, and nothing.
Please advise....

I have a BA that is unlocked and happily runs Orange, Vodafone, O2 sims. But when I try a 3 sim I get the error: sim invalid.
I get the same message when there is no sim in it. I checked the sim contacts and all looks fine. And the sim works fine in my ordinary 'phone' mobile.
Any suggestions for a fix to the problem?
Thanks
OK. I'll answer:
Three (3) don't own any GPRS network so they have locked their sims from roaming onto any non 3G network. Else it costs them money.
So any 2G/2.5G device (BA etc) will not accept a 3 sim. Some people have found theirs to work for a short period until 3 see the non-3G usage and take action.
Hi all,
I apologize as I am completely lost with this and hope someone can help me. I have searched the forums and nothing has answered this problem. I recently purchased an Arc S LT18A and am eagerly waiting to use it. It is a Rogers branded phone which is unlocked. Jinx was amazing and helped me perform the test point unlock. There are 4 main carriers here in Canada of which all work pretty much on similar bands when it comes to GSM phones. The arc s meets the standards required for all of them. Upon testing the phone it works / registers with Telus and Bell, connecting to both of their networks but when attempting to connect to the Fido network it states " This sim card cannot register with this network " I have tried multiple sim cards from Fido including the Fido store attempting to help me to no avail. I have also attended a Rogers store and the same thing happens, except when a rogers sim card is placed into the phone it says that it is an unregistered sim card, though it is a working sim card from rogers in their store. I have verified that the phone is not stolen as Rogers checked their database for me as I was afraid that was the issue and the IMEI number was blocked, rogers stated that everything is ok with the phone. Would anyone have any experience with this issue or know of anything I can do? Thanks guys.
My oppo find 7 is 5 months old, was using a vodafone sim in india and was working fine ,when went out of town and entered different area the sim stopped working. Then when i came back to my service area then also the sim was not detected by the phone. Tried different other network sim like airtel, aircel, it did not work, only idea sim was recognised by the phone. I do not know how make my phone detect vodafone network, please advise.
HI
Why cant I use an international sim in my Note 4. I have tried 5 different sims. Its like the phone isn't even trying to search for networks when I put them in.
If I'm not in the USA I cant activate the Phone can I?? I Think this maybe the problem. Its like the phone locks out the Gsm bands until its activated on the Verizon network. Ive tried a dummy Verizon sim but no dice.
Thanks
In advance
You have to call verizon before you travel to different country to unlock the phone. They will do it. I did the same. I traveled to India and used different sim and it worked. But you need to use apn settings from that carrier to make data work on note 4.

Hi even i have the same problem .Verizon should not lock as per their policy but they are doing so.Someone should put a case on them and sue them
The problem is when I was in the States I activated it on the Verizon Network, when I got home to Ireland phone worked fine with International sim.
Last week I did a Factory reset and its asking me to Activate on the Verizon network again and no sim is working, so I'm screwed I cant activate on the Verizon Network.
The thing I find funny is If you look at vn_mobiles root videos he is able to stick in his Vietnamese sim card after a Factory reset and have it work without having to Activate again on the Verizon Network. So am I missing something here?
I hope he can tell me if there is a work around for Activation because it seems to work for him.

vn_mobiles is a scammer.Any solutions? You gave verizon customer care email id? I am sure they will unlock GSM if we give our imei number since locking LTE phones is against their policy.
Unfortunatly I think the problem is it can't be unlocked unless registered on the Verizon network first with an active Verizon Sim (Which it was before factory reset). As Im not in the states any more I can't connect to the network so I can't activate, so its not really unlocked.
My phone never been activated on verizon and have formated the phone many times and gsm works fine with no issue except the lack of band 3 support....
Are good with DFS tool? If so pm me to test a few things that might get your phone working...
Got it sorted thanks guys.
Really strange one. I tried another Verizon sim. Tried activating and of course it wouldn't let me as I'm in Ireland. But as soon as I start sticking my local Sims in they just start working. Going to guard this little Verizon Sim with my life. Lol
They are unlocked but they might be needed to have vzw sim for few seconds. I was in Poland for 2 months and used my now retired note4. Was getting edge,3g,h+

Hello Sir
I actually bought a Samsung Note 4 910v from eBay which was being sold for parts which was not connecting any phone networks...
When I received the phone....it was on lollipop 5.0.1 and tried inserting a Orange Sim card from Mauritius network but It didn't work.
I flashed the note 4 to lollipop 5.1.1 and rooted it but still couldn't get the phone connected to a network...
I checked the phone IMei with Verizon ...it's clean
I read your post....please see image...
Could you help me with dsf tool or run a check of my phone plz...
Awaiting a positive reply from your side.
Hello,
I had my M8 replaced under warrenty and received a brand new M8. I am in Australia and use the Telstra network, and they provide network unlocked phones for plan customers, thus this phone isn't network locked.
When I first got it, it kept saying "Invalid Sim Card" on the lock screen for 2 days, and it went away by itself. The tech at the store said at that time they had significant network problems and we're resolved at the same time my phone was playing up. In those 2 days I also replaced the Sim Card and it made no difference.
Flash forward 4 weeks and I went overseas to Germany and the phone worked fine for a few days then again said Invalid Sim Card. No matter how many times I rebooted it I couldn't get it onto the network. Once I returned to Australia it worked fine.
I am now in South Africa and my Australian Telstra Sim Card was working fine but I needed a local number for data, so I purchased a Vodacom sim with data only and it worked straight away. My girlfriend also brought a Vodacom sim for her M10 (same Telstra plan as me) and hers is fine
My sim and phone ran on their networks fine for 12 hours and I wake up this morning and it's now saying "Invalid Sim Card" again. I've tried rebooting it several times with no luck.
Does anyone have any ideas?
I'm not convinced it's the Sim Card tray as it works fine on Australia, only when overseas. I don't know anything about the radio or baseband stuff but it's that related?? What can I check??
I used the IMEI24 website to confirm the phone was unlocked from the carrier, and entering *#*#4636#*#* doesn't show any info as it's not on the network.
Phone is currently unlocked, S-on, TWRP 3.0.2.0, rooted, Marshmallow.
I'm pretty angry as I have an ultra marathon in 2 days, and this phone was to connect my Garmin watch to the internet so my friends and family could track me, and most importantly my girlfriend could find me at the finish.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

I doubt it has anything to do with radio baseband. GSM bands are pretty standard worldwide, and just about any "quad band" (850, 900, 1800, 1900) GSM phone should get you at least voice and EDGE data services. And all M8 versions support those GSM bands. Therefore, any M8 should get you at least GSM service, regardless of the radio baseband installed.
I wonder if the issue is the SIM modules themselves, and the "overseas" issue is a red herring? My thought is, that maybe the overseas SIMs you purchased don't quite fit as well as your local (Australian) SIM. One thing you can try, is put some Scotch tape on the SIM (on the side without the gold contacts) and see if that "fattens" up the SIM enough to make better contact. Be careful not to get tape stuck in SIM slot/tray. I've seen this trick work for some folks with the Invalid SIM error.
