It's amazing how much we actually use our phones in a given day, especially when we watch "videos"! Rate this thread to express how many hours of screen-on time you can get on the OnePlus X before depleting the battery.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Good, 4 hours average (if idle battery drain is left out of this)
Really good on Boeffla and Temasek's CM13.
6:40 hours last time.
It completely depends on the user! If you are a power user, the battery will drain faster. Well I use my phone at a very minimal level so by the time I get home from work, I still have around 30-35% battery left.
If anyone can match this

Probably not real, those stats are f*cked up lol. He has a cut of about 10% (probably reboot into recovery or something like that) but wifi was on during that cut(lol!). If that wasn't enough, he still has 10% left with 8h sot. So I call bs or simply error in battery stats or he really just left the phone on a black background just to get those stats

you arent teaching me anything new, your post was at fault with a lot of info you didnt provide, maybe if you didnt post a useless pic with a record sot and provided more info you wouldnt be questioned. And it just keeps getting better and better, so you had a SOD that took away 10% of your battery life and still manage to get to 8 hours SOT and still 10% battery left?lol its just ridiculous imo. So please do enlighten us with the use you give your phone, because that is just unbelievable (unless you had your phone idling at a dark background like it was said before)

No need to be condescending. Have you ever rebooted your device for two or three times in a row (for example xposed module). Go ahead and watch your battery sot after that. You'll be surprised with what you see and might learn a thing or two [emoji23]

I am not sure what else to try to get the screen not to use so much juice. I have Juice Defender and pretty sure I am conserving power when screen is off. But what about making use of this device with screen on? Amoled seems to chew up power even when at low settings. I have added screen shots to help diagnose. Thanks for feedback.
Seriously 1%?
Haha it's reporting on a span of 4 seconds. Of course the screen will use a high percentage. Over the course of a day the screen should be about 50% of your battery usage.
LOL! Come back again after a day.
That's not a long enough sample. Leave the phone alone for 12 hours and then check battery usage again. In your screen shot, the only thing you've really used is the screen so of course it's going to be responsible for 97% of battery usage. I would be more concerned that your total battery usage equals 102%.

Seems Better Today
As everyone said, wait a few hours not few seconds Relaxing in a rather empty coffee house this afternoon but the sun is out even though t-storms are predicted for tomorrow. And seems #Android community was right about my post...once using the phone for many hours on battery the screen only takes about 50% of the juice. Wondering what would happen if I made brighter.

You need to start thinking of that chart as a Pie-chart. It's going to add up to 100% (approximately) all the time so as one item goes down another has to go up (and vice versa).
The first 1% on the GN typically goes fast, it's not like the I9100 where the battery wouldn't drop to 99% until after 10 minutes of screen on time. All things being equal I see a little less screen minutes per percent on my GN than my I9100. I usually clocked ~4:30 minutes per % on my I9100, perhaps ~45 seconds less per percent on my GN.
Hi guys im wondering who else have a really really battery life, it drops so quick :S
i have brightness low,and seems its draining fast. i tried stock for a little and seems it drops not so fast but still fast, i compare with my old evo and wow was a beast it can last tooo long before drop 1% and htc one X its giving me so much issues i tried insert one coin, and im now on leedroid (seems better) i have to get juice defender ( i never have to use) using hard my old phone (EVO 3D) drops like 50% in 4 hours of Hard use, 2.5 hours bluetooth headsetplaying music, some browsing, whatsapp, twitter and facebook. sometimnes drop 60% its not so bad, perhaps yesterday in almost the same time and doing a lot less drop from 70% to 0% idk what happening or if this is normal because screen? anyone has this issue?
or maybe we can do a "test" maybe playing a video for 30 min or something wifi on, just to test.
Maybe could be my radio? im using HK htc one X in mexico, the 3G works great perhaps could drain more battery?
Any help i will apreciate thanks a lot, i love the phone but this sucks
Regards

Thanks a lot i really like the phone i hope its just something to get fixed soon

Drain the battery completely and then charge for at least 8 or more hours, use the phone as normal and let it drain completely again and then charge for a minimum of 3 hours, after a couple of days it should last longer and if you can or need to upgrade to the latest OTA then do so.

well that is not really helping him is it. no point you telling him you getting that kinda of use of out the battery..it is like rubbing it in his face
but anyway 3g does drain battery specially if the signal is low and it is trying to find the best possible signal for you. only use it when you need it. same goes for wifi. for wifi i would have it to sleep when screen is off.
have a look in the battery stats thread and few people give tips in there on how to extend the battery life mate.

if i was you i would not let it drain completely..let it die down to say 5% i would then fully charge it like overnight. then go here install that apk and once you have fully charged let the battery drain again. once it drains to say 15% check what wakelocks you have. that will help you see where the issue lies and the battery gets drained..better explanation on the thread i gave you the link of mate

if your carrier still shows that you have updates then i would say do that as well mate. radio as far as i know we can not flash just as yet as we need s-off to do that so your best bet is the OTA if you are not on the latest firmware
Wait & see what the battery lasts like after a couple of days of charge & discharge, mine was poor on the first day.
I always try to charge mine up over night & my battery lasts on average 40 - 48 hours now.
The other day i had wi fi on & gps on read some of a book, 3 or 4 calls 5 messages & used a gps app for a while had just over 2 hours of screen on time & after 14 hours still had 60% battery left.
There is no reason why your phone wont get that after a couple of days, hope it is the case for you
Estoy orgulloso que tenemos mexicanos que tienen un One X
Hopefully as updates come, battery life will improve
I´ve been using the HOX for 5 days and it does get better after you run some cycles, but I still find it´s not as good as the battery life on the GS2 I used to have (I was running the Illusion rom).
With the GS2 I would leave the brightness at full blast, I would watch about 1 hour of video, I would use the calendar a lot, I would make a couple of calls and by 19h when I got home my battery would be around 80%. I do the exact same things on the HOX and I get a little less than 70% at the end of the day.

Is this possible on phones with clockwork recovery? My phone turns on automatically when it's got some charge
I flashed to revolution 6.3.3 (7.0.4 won't boot for me, i do not understand why?) and battery time better as before. From 8:00 to 20:00 the battery capacity is reduced to ~30-40% . Usually remains 1-2h to the final switch off, and this with very low usage, 1-2 time call, 2-10min internet and 1-2 text message.

soooo many variables it's not even funny. Without battery monitor screenshots showing usage and signal strength what you just said is pretty much useless. What is 'good' usage to you? You might be hoping for a goal that can't be achieved by this phone, i dont know.Keep in mind, these phones have small batteries in comparison to most smart phones.

Thank You, I go to try
Here is a basic guide to some good ways to help with your battery issues.
>>Here<<
Its generalized information but its essential to understand where your battery power is going.
I just got my GS3 about four days ago.I noticed just like many people out there, that my battery wasn't lasting as long. After some research I found that doing a factory reset solved the problems.I'm getting 15+ hours now with moderate to slightly heavy use. Before I did this my battery would lose 40% with very light to moderate use in about 1hr 30mins.
No root.
Settings>Back up and reset>factory reset>wait for reboot>set up phone(just the initial setup)>turn off>remove battery and reinsert>boot back up (this is what I did)
How my phone was setup(sync, use etc.)
This is without power saving mode.
GPS: off
Wifi: on,because I havent gone out much these last few days(but off when I do)
Brightness:No more than 20% usually at 10%
I live in a LTE area just in case.
Moderate texting.
No gaming.
1 Call for about 30mins.
Moderate to heavy browsing.
Skype call for about 30mins.
Bluetooth: only on during 30min call.
Apps that sync:
Scope:every hour(syncs tumblr and facebook)
Facebook:every 2 hours
Weather:every 6 hours
Google account sync is on.
Email syncs once a day.
I barely receive gmail so I only get a notification from it once or twice a day.
During the night my phone lost about 14% (45% to 31%).
DISCLAIMER:I CANNOT GUARANTEE THIS WILL WORK EVEN THOUGH FOR A DECENT AMOUNT OF PEOPLE IT HAS,DON'T BLAME ME IF IT DOESN'T AND FOR THE TIME LOST IN YOU TRYING THIS.
Its still good to give it a try.
thats sad as heck man, you ruining a good phone doing all that, either man up get a new extended battery or root your phone and undervolt that crap.

See the awake bar on your battery screenshot? That means your phone was on all day and night; it never went into deep sleep mode. When your phone is awake it uses practically the same amount of battery with the screen off as it would with the screen on, minus the display usage.

This was just for testing purposes I understand that without all that the phone would last much longer. But its a GS3 so I wanted to see what it was capable of. My thinking is if it got 15+ hours with all those things auto updating imagine without.
I lose 1% an hour in standby. Maybe slightly less. Tuchmi with faux. Samsung garbage removed.
That whole post is pointless.
Charging up while phone off to see if there's any battery improvement.

Strange thing is even with the wake lock it got 15hrs. Shouldn't disabling the auto updates solve that? If not I think the wake lock was due to the cell standby bug.

It should still sleep unless you are constantly updating every minute you have something else going on. Cell standby is just a measurement bug. Even if you patch it your battery life will be the same. When I let mine go without charging I got the same screen time but over a day between charges so you are losing probably 25% or so from it.

Horrible Battery!
Rooted my SG3 and have noticed a large battery drain. Unplugged from charging to a full charge and left phone off and it sat on standby mode. 3 hours later after NO USE it is down 20%. This doesn't seem normal. 29% is due to cell standby and 25% is android OS. On Wifi at home too, so I don't think its struggling for signal. Any ideas?
So I was sitting here winding down after a long day of work and was wondering what everyone's favorite or preferred custom ROM is/are. I'm a huge fan of features, ease-of-use, clean, neat, and organized UI, and something that won't bog down after 3 weeks of loading it with everything I use day to day. I'm currently on OOS 11 still because (like always) OnePlus likes to strip and/or forget to port a lot of features from previous operating systems when a new one is released REGARDLESS of them going through a "codebase merge" or not.
TL;DR: I wanted this to be a poll-based thread to see what all of you guys recommend, like, use, or prefer and why. What do you like most about it, what do you dislike about it, and if you could, what would you do to make it better or suit your needs? Feel free to go as in-depth as possible. I figured with all the BS going on in the world right now, this can be a laid back, opinionated but respectful thread.
Please remember, a lot of these devs are putting a lot of their hard work and effort into making these ROMs for us. Be kind to each other and the devs that bring you these awesome things. If it weren't for them or their time, well, we probably wouldn't be here, now would we?
Also, if you liked this thread, let me know. I have a few other poll ideas I wanna throw out there.
So far I've used XtendedXS, and EvolutonX. Both were based on A12 at the time of testing.
i do use LineageOS on my tablet and on my Galaxy Y i use my own themed LineageOS/CM 12.1 ROM
Btw, I recommend crDroid, LineageOS
Also, just realized I put OOS and COS as options and thanks to @notnoelchannel , I realized I completely left LineageOS off the list. I guess I threw them in since they're both feature packed. Sorry peeps. I guess I just gave away a hint to one of my other ideas lol. That's what being sick, having little sleep, and posting this at 2:30am will do to you.
CarbonROM!
Using JaguarOS since my OP6T
Due to great privacy tweaks, built-in wakelock blocker and other tweaks
AICP on 1+ 8 Pro
Also been looking to see if a custom ROM would be good for me. Currently running OOS11 and trying out different kernels and I'm getting good battery life with Arter's and bluspark (7+hrs SoT). I'm looking for a ROM with good battery life and the ability to force immersive mode for apps, the biggest downside of OOS11 imo.

Are using AOD? I can almost never get 6+ hours. Same os and kernel, -25% gpu in FKM, AOD, QHD resolution, 120Hz (tried with forced, as well as auto), live wallpaper etc. Getting 5-6h regularly

No I'm not using aod. I tested fhd yesterday with no Bluetooth or location since I was at home and got 6hrs SoT by the time I was at 20%. Ill try a more realistic setup today with location on and such.

So I tested my battery life with QHD, 120hz, Bluetooth and location always on, no aod and auto brightness. Over 32 hours I got just under 7 and a half hours SoT. Have you done app optimisation through adb or let it happen naturally by leaving your phone on the charger?

No, what kind of optimization is that?

As far as I understand Android optimises apps when the phone is plugged in, at full charge and is idle. You can also force this optimisation through adb using "adb shell cmd package bg-dexopt-job". It can take a while for this to complete and its safe to disconnect the phone during this process. I've also read that the phone performs extra optimisation when its left on the charger but I'm not sure about that myself.
EDIT: heres a post that goes into more detail, OP also mentions this command in a comment - https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/...-and-battery-calibration-myths-busted.993896/

Okay, I'm trying to run that command, but it seems to hang adb for a long time (nothing is shown on the phone). Hopefully it finishes soon. Thanks for the suggestion and the link

Yeh that's what it does there's no indication for it doing anything it just hangs until it shows process complete, confused me a bit too.

LOL I waited for nearly an hour, and nothing showed either on the phone or in the adb terminal. I just disconnected it, hopefully the command did something

Its mentioned in that thread that it can take between 30mins to 3hours. I think it took just over an hour for me. Leaving your phone plugged in overnight might be a better alternative.

Oh okay, I didn't realize it could be such a lengthy process. I'll just leave the phone charging tonight then

Perhaps something else worth mentioning that has just happened to me, have you ever fully drained the battery? When I posted my SoT that was the first time I have ever drained the phone fully (I did it because my phone was lasting nearly an hour before dropping from 100 to 99 and was lasting about 20 minutes on 1 percent I assumed it wasn't aware of my full battery capacity). Since doing a full drain I think my battery is looking better, right now I'm running FHD+ 120hz no bluetooth or location and at 70% im at 3 hours of SoT with 8 hours off the charger. Thats around 10 hours of SoT with just over 24 hours off the charger which is insane.
