PlayStation Vue app for Chromecast? - Fire TV Themes and Apps

I've seen questions about trying to convert the PS vue app for Nexus player, but is there any way to convert the app to be used on Chromecast for Android users? Really want to try the service out, but don't have any iDevices.

Wireless Connection to PS3 or Apple TV

Has anyone been able to play a Watch film on their TV through a PS3 or Apple TV? Is this possible? I'm sure I read something about being able to use a PS3 or Apple TV in the same way as a media link.
I am using an app called Skifta which is DLNA certified to push things to my Samsung Smart TV. I've not tried it on my PS3 but I would asume it would work for that also as the PS3 can also use DLNA. Looks and works really well with my Samsung TV though using that App. I can stream content from my HTC One X, from my media server(s) and also content from the internet.
I used to use something called ZappoTV on my iPhone and I know that worked with the Apple TV; I've just checked the Play store and its available on there so you could give that one a try also.
Thanks, I have given it a try but still no connection. I couldn't even get Skifter to find any media on the one x. Decided to buy a micro USB to HDMI, and save the rest of this afternoon!
I expect that even I could have made a connection between the phone and PS3, using a third party app like Skifter or Twonky, I still wouldn't be able to view HTC Watch movies, as they do not show up in the Gallery.
Have you stopped Media Service? Because I haven't any problem finding my movies. Another great app to use DLNA is HomeDia. It links all my devices and PC as media servers and I'm able to see them on PS3 and Samsung ES8000 smart tv

Hi Nightranger, not sure how you would stop media service. I tried Twonky Media, and could see movies shot with the phone but not HTC Watch downloads. Either way I still couldn't get it to talk to my PS3. I have a Synology Diskstation which shows up on the phone and PS3, so I'm guessing that Media Services must be on.
doh!

You need the HTC Media Link HD to stream HTC Watch movies. The Media Link HD box has DRM features added which regular DLNA doesn't have and HTC Watch won't let you do it without this.
Don't know if any asker still needs this, but here goes. I was also quite stumped as to how to stream media from HOX to PS3.
After quite extensive searching high and low on the interjacks, I come to these conclusions/solutions:
1. HTC purposely make it difficult/impossible to simply share media with DLNA clients JUST TO SELL their MediaLink HD.
2. For those who wants to stream their media (videos/pics/music), especially to Playstation 3 (PS3 - [for search engines]) simply download the free SKIFTA from Google Play. Instructions are straight forward, I was playing silly videos and HD trailers off my phone in no time.
Press that little thanks button if this has been helpful Thanks.
I used double twist air play and was able to stream photos to ps3. Don't remember about video...

Does streaming things cost major battery? I mean if you can't stream a whole movie due battery life it is worthless right
I use skifta, free from play store works for pics music and vids works very well..

Skifta seems to be the easiest of the several that I have tried and is free as well

is there a particular reason why you dont just play them straight from your ps3?
I put my movies on a memory stick etc and transfer them to the ps3 and play them that way
for files like mkv i just convert them to mp4 and it works fine
I used the "Select Player" function on the player and it works even on Windows media player( sucks) and XBMC it should work for PS3 I think

Latest and greatest Mirror app to mirror from android/s3 to Apple tv???

Ok im looking for a app that will allow specifically mirroring anything on an android homescreen to my hdtv "thru Apple tv"
The catch is if u use an apple device with apple tv it actually truly mirrors what you see to the tv My goal is to steam my streaming vidoes from my browser and bookmarked sites from my s3 to my tv thru apple tv
This Isharemedia only lets u pick channels and vid picture folders this is not like real mirroring.
What other options are there without having to go buy samsungs version of the apple tv

Update: since no one gave a response , I forked over the money for a Samsung all share hub and noe my Apple tv which could of been used I'm sure with an app is now useless .
If anyone knows a way to get true mirroring from s3 to HDTV using Apple TV as a middle man let me know

I don't know of an app. But knowing Apple, that mirroring will only work with Apple devices. Because it's Apple and that's how they do things.
I had to jailbreak mine just so I didn't need to use iTunes to use the device. There were other benefits as well, like playing mkv files.
Not totally true theres a few apps in android market like imediashare that allow function from android to hd tv using apple tv as the server but its just channels to pick from not really a true mirroring, but as I clearly explained I was looking for more of a straight forward mirroring effect like apple tv airplay does for apple and how allshare cast hub mirrors for Samsung
My thoughts were what app or options are there for the two variants to work with eachother for mirroring Android device going through AN APPLE TV to get to your hdtv

Anime APP

Is anyone using an anime app that is compatible with the fire tv? If so which one(s)? I tried side loading the Animefreak app from their website, however the fire TV remote doesn't allow me to select any videos.
Thanks!

There's an anime app on the Fire TV app store called Manga that's pretty good. You can also try Crunchyroll that can either downloaded directly from the Google Play Store, if you have it installed. Or you can download the apk from somewhere and sideload it. Netflix also has some good animes on it like Naruto Shippuden, a Bleach movie, and some other stuff.
In some of the anime app cost to watch the anime series is much more but 9anime is much better with free one to watch.
I made an account just to tell this since I think you'd be very happy with this.
Just sideload this app: https://github.com/XenTeckzX/FireAnime

Youtube Alternatives

So I'm having extreme frustrations with the native Youtube app for my Fire TV Stick. It's often slow, randomly crashes, CONSTANTLY lags without fail, and I can't even use the Amazon Fire TV Android app to type to search. It's just not an overall well done app for the Stick at least. I can't speak about the Fire TV Box, which I might purchase due to some sluggishness with the Stick (i.e. Youtube, Kodi, etc) So, I've tried other alternatives on the Amazon Appstore. Namely OneTube. It works decently, but it doesn't look too pretty, is difficult to find things when I don't know what I want to watch, and no Cast/pair support.
The older Youtube for Google TV works well, but unfortunately, when using the remote, I can't click the search box to search anything lol.
I've used the Youtube for Android TV 1.0.5.5 app(sideloaded) and, minus the regular complaints about the app itself, runs great! No lag, videos work fine, and I can type to search with the Amazon Fire TV app on my phone. Downside is that I can't seem to find a pair device setting in the app itself :/ Now maybe I need to sideload google play services in order to get it to show up? I'm not sure, but I thought that was only necessary if you wanted to sign into your YouTube account.
So my question is are there any alternate YouTube players that work well, or is there a way to pair my device with the new Youtube for Android TV app?
The kodi YouTube app works very well and you could use yatse to cast videos to it.

Reverse cast?

Would it be possible to reverse cast whatever is on your tv to your phone? Looking at the vr headgear and wondering if i could play xbox on my tv cast the stream from my tv to my phone then be able to split the screen so i could play xbox in vr? Simple idea but dunno the limitations on this or where to start so figure if anyone had some ideas you could become a hero to millions as the android vr headset is so cheap.
