Secure booting error on LG e989_0608 - LG Optimus G Pro

I have an LG e989_0608 which has this error.
It was purchased on ali express, so i am not sure about the info.
here is an example listing:
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/E980...48d8365fb7cf716-1459179376583-05342-eub6yrrBy
I am not exactly certain which device this is.
Some said F240, some said e988.
enclosed below are pictures of the error and the device backside.
I tried several methods of flashing, and nothing seems to actually get anything going in Download mode.
is there a universal img file for CWM\TWRP I can put on there the same way we did on samsung devices ?

By your description you have an e989. Then, go to Hyelton's thread in the general section, download the files for the e989. There you will find the instructions to flash back to stock using LG tool.

I'm not sure that's the same, but when I need to return to stock, after the extraction of the kdz there's an error.
However, behind the error screen the upgrading process continues. Is that what happens?

Help - Stuck on Download Mode

I rooted and flashed Sphinx. The ROM somehow kept me from hearing the other person on the other line when making calls and they couldn't hear me. So I was trying to unroot by using the Flashroot tool method. And now I'm stuck on download mode.
I have a d855. How do I unroot properly and how do I get out of the download mode.
This is my first time rooting an LG phone :/

Hold the power button for 10 secs to reboot to normal. <<<<<<<< Depending on what you have done >>>>>>>>>>
ENSURE that no transfers or other process are in progress or you will have a bad day. I don't know what you have done on your phone but ensure you read the thread you are following completely.
Are you trying to restore to stock? There are a few threads that you need to follow exactly or you will brick your device.

The method failed, so I gave up and wanted to just reboot. Did a batter pull and was able to get to the factory reset screen, but it just loops back to download mode.

follow this, for your variant, it should get you back on track don't forget to check the hashes as a bad download would cause it to fail.

I don't have the links to the tread where I got these from but lets just hope I don't get banned.
1) go to download mode
2) install this and download the correct .kdz file for your phone
-Modelnumber is ...
-serial number is your imei number
- wait until the download is done
3) run the lgflashtool2014.exe from this zip
-Select type= cdma
-phone mode= Diag
-reset time=33000
-Should be like this when You run it
-select kdz file= is where you need to find the kdz file you just downloaded(step 1)
-then press cse flash
-in the now pop-up window select start
-select your language
-ignore error (cannot connect to lg server)
-check progress on phone up to 100% then boots in recovery installs and restarts
-wait untill it goes to the welcom screen then you can unplug
-now the most inportant step Like my post
to enter download mode do this:
--You must switch off the device to start the process.
--Then press and hold the “Volume Up” and connect the USB cable from phone to PC.
--Use the original USB cable. Because, other device’s cable may not be detected in the Computer. So, only we recommend it to use the original-- one that you got it when you bought the phone.
--Wait for the driver installation on PC.
--Then you will get the download mode screen in your phone.
--That’s it.
I have the opposite problem, can't get into download mode haha

I can't find the .kdz file. I have the D85010d.
Also, i ran the original lg firmware, I also get an error saying it was unsuccessful or i may have keyed in something incorrect.
When I run perform the TOT method, I get the "device model is different".
So, d85010d was stock and I flashed sphinx d855... where they incompatible? im assuming no because the phone ran fine aside from the issue i stated on the original post.
would like more help.

I was in your position. Once you enter the download mode it is *almost* impossible to get out without removing the battery. I've heard a lot of suggestions like pressing the power button for 10 or 20 seconds or even doing that in combination with other keys, BUT the ultimate truth is that you have to press and keep holding power button for at least 1 minute. I didn't time exact seconds, but it was ridiculously long time. Probably it will take you less time removing the back and re-sit the battery, but personally I hate removing the back without serious reason
About the second question - I was unable to flash anything in LG's download mode. I'm using Ubuntu + virtualbox (Windows 7 inside), but due to issues with drivers and/or virtualbox and/or usb port forwarding I was unable to reliably connect and flash the stock kdz image. Fortunately I've sent the phone back to the LG repair office and they re-flashed the firmware for me.

It is not exactly what you want, BUT at least you can get your latest, official KDZ file from LG.
Open in browser the following URL, but replace the xxxxxxxxx
http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/csmg/b2c/client/auth_model_check2.jsp?esn=xxxxxxxx
where xxxxxxxx is your IMEI number
As a result you'll get an XML file that will contain the location of your latest KDZ update, which should look something like this:
http://csmgdl.lgmobile.com/dn/downloader.dev?fileKey=.../D85510L_00.kdz

Hi guys, i know it's an old post but i get the same issue.
I was following this tutorial https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/1058206-lg-g3-lineageos-tutorial/
I was on lollipop.
I initially downgraded to kitkat (V10e) using LG UP and then rooted with purple drake.
In the following reboots, "kernel error" occurred.
So I tried to flash the kitkat stock version again but without success.
I'm stuck in download mode and tried to flash both the kitkat version, the lollipop and the marshmallow, through .tot and .kdz, I tried both with LG UP, LG Flash tools v 1.8 and with LG flash Tools 2014 but in all cases unsuccessful because the phone reboots before it ends.
Now I don't know what to try anymore. Do you have any solution, please?
Thanks in advance.

T-Mobile G3 BRICKED - HELP!

Hi
I have a t-mobile D851 LG G3, for which i was trying to restore to STOCK software, through one of the guides elsewhere on the forum. My first try FAILED, and now the phone is stuck on the "FIRMWARE UPDATE - Do not unplug the USB connection until the process is finished - USER B51" screen
No matter what i do (all key combinations for recovery mode, download mode), plugging, unplugging the phone, taking the battery out for 30 mins or so, and putting it back - NOTHING is working. It all goes back to the screen mentioned above.
I tried running the LG Flash tool again, but it fails.
Any ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated. This phone is my daily driver, and I am in a major fix without it.

I wouldn't try any of those files, definitely not for our phone. Would probably do something bad.
When you got errors did the LG flash tool complete with a failed or anything? Just checking because at lease one other poster had errors like that but the flash tool kept going and eventually completed successfully.

[Q] My G3 is Softbricked - $20 to the first person that can help me fix it!

I'm going crazy here and I need my phone to work!
I have an LG G3 on Verizon.
I rooted it and edited a part of build.prop to change the DPI which got the phone stuck in a boot loop and kept popping up "the process com.android.systemui has stopped.
I tried clearing cache
I tried booting in safe mode
I then did a factory reset
My phone boots up to the Setup Wizard screen but I am STILL getting that systemui error and a com.android.phone and I can't get any further than that screen.
I then tried to use the LG FlashTool to just wipe the entire ROM and replace it with the stock one from Verizon.
This gave me a "Model Information Check FAIL!" error but I DO have the right ROM for my phone. There's only one for the Verizon G3 as far as I can tell
This led me to realizing that there is something in the build.prop that's making LGFlashTool think the proper rom actually isn't right.
I then installed the Android SDK so I can ADB into my phone. but whenever I run "abd devices" nothing shows up in the list.
I was told USB Debugging needs to be turned on in order for this to work, I don't remember if it's turned on or not with my phone and I can't get past the Setup Wizard to edit anything. I wonder if ADB is even running properly on my phone or if these errors are stopping it?
I will gladly paypal someone $20 if they can get this working for me.

Regarding your USB debugging question, you would have had to turn it on in order to root the phone originally, right? If so I imagine it would still be on unless you unchecked it. You have the proper drivers set up? Anytime I've encountered issues with adb devices not returning any results the issue has been drivers.
Good luck.

Yes I have a warranty. But I had installed a custom ROM (cloudy g3), so I guess that violates mine. The phone is dead, and shows up in device manager as LGE AndroidNet USB Serial Port. Don't even know why its showing up like that
Okay, am i'm searching for any available software fix that's gonna work for me at least before I resort to opening up the phone
Let me shed some light on what caused my phone to go dark, to save someone else from repeating the same mistake... I was trying to upgrade twrp from version 2.8 to 3.0. I thought using autorec would help me achieve that. But once it had finished, I attempted to boot to recovery and since then my phone has gone completely dark
OK, you could try to carry the cellphone to LG support and you can tell that after an upgrade, your phone has not returned to turn on. Usually, they change the motherboard. If you want to do it through BoardDiag, here is an explanation:

The first thing you should do is download the .tot file corresponding to your Variant (D855), I think that you can find it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/help/tot-dll-file-d855-t2859828
Follow this guide to use boarddiag:

In the "Image EXTRACTION" sections, in "BIN" must locate the file .tot that you downloaded.
In "DIR" you put the location where will be extracted the content of the .tot file.
Note that "DIR" and "TARGET DIR" should be the same location.

I have the same error, and have tried about everything including 4 different computers and OSs, different cables, different versions of BoardDiag 2.99a - 3.99c, and still the same error.

It could also mean your device isn't in EDL mode 9008.

I had be not dealt with edl on LG in a long time been on Samsung for a while that being said i could suggest maybe be uninstall the current 9008 driver and try to find a different source or updated and or try other usb ports. We on s8 have a lot of issues with usb 3.0 ports on pc's

Yeah, I've tried pretty much everything, but thank you for the reply.

Bootloop, download mode and TWRP not working

I flashed Fulmic rom for my G3 D855 today. Everything was well when I discovered until I discovered, that camera app is not showing. The fix was to download the fix from Fulmics app and flash it via TWRP. I downloaded the fix and rebooted to install the fix. After reboot I got stuck in bootloop, when I try to access recovery, it goes to TWRP first logo and stays there. Nothing happens. When I try to access download mode, it shows the first download mode logo and stays there. Computer detects the phone in device manager as "LGE Android MTP Device". LGUP shows model as "Unknown". Cant do nothing more. Every help is appreciated.
Are you sure you flashed the fix ? Because it seems like you flashed something else that messed up your device

I downloaded the fix, then tried to install it via twrp. But twrp didn't start. So I ran AutoRec again to reinstall TWRP which seemed to go well. Forgot to mention this on first post. After reinstalling TWRP the problems occurred.

Can't enter twrp, just shows TEAMWIN logo with blue background and stripes. Nothing more happens.
Download mode text shows up, pc makes connection sound but I dont know what to do after that. I tried using LGUP but that showed that model is "Unknown".
Ah, try lg flash tool 2014 or lg flashtool (and a tot file), find a thread by hyelton (lg g3 get back to stock), this will help you

I have tried this method also. Every time at 4% it says, error, remove battery and then reconnect and turn on phone. After that, connection with pc is lost.
Also, when I try to get to Download Mode, it should go then to Firmware update screen to? Am I right about that? If so, then it doesn't go to Firmware update screen.
But I tried it with a kdz I had in my computer and had used before. Downloading .tot file atm.

Also it stays in download mode screen, not Firmware update screen. I don't know if this affects anything.
