[/IMG]It's more helpful app for transferring contents from the internal memory to SD card. I have the 200gb SanDisk SD card and it's working well. If you experience those mounting notifications...you should format the card first after u back up all the important files to your computer. Format it by going to the storage option.
Nice find. Thanks. I'll give it a try.

Good Evening once again,
Now that my phone is up and running again thanks to some wonderful people on here I was wondering if some could offer some advice on my memory card.
I was given a 32GB m-sd card for xmas that I REALLY want to use in my phone however having a problem formatting it. Using Gparted it will only let me create one partition. If I put my old 8GB mem card in I can delete all the parts and then recreate the two (one Fat32 and one ext4) So is there a reason why I cant do it on my 32gb card and is it fixable?
Thanks,
Max
If youre a windows user, google and download h2testw.exe to test the SD card. Just to confirm that there are no errors in the entire 32GB of space.
Hello,
I have sugarsync which stores its info on the SD card. The new Galaxy I just bought has its internal storage listed as SD card and the micro SD card is listed as ext. Sd Card. Is there a way to make my programs save their data on the Ext SD card instead of the Internal storage?
Hello,
IN recovery under mount and storage menu, there is an option format/SD card?
My question is that, will this format the external SD card or will it format the internal SD card ?
I want to make sure, because what I want to do is format my external SD card.
I tried formatting the card with my PC, the phone still can not see it.
My 32 GB external card , doesn't show up. Maybe If I format it using the phone, the phone will be able to see it.
thank you in advance
If your phone can't detect the external memory card, how can it format it? You'll end up formatting the internal card. Looking at my settings, I do not think the phone even allows you to format the external card from the Storage menu.
mmm. ...... I inserted an 8GB card in it, the phone was able to detect it, but when I insert the 32GB it can't see the card.
Any ideas what the issue maybe?
Something I've been meaning to ask, simply because it's a wierd occurrence. A few days ago, I got a new 64gb Samsung micro SD card. Naturally, I had to format it into FAT32. I went to format the card using my S III (because it has helped put both my 32gb cards into FAT32). Format successful, and I moved a bunch of backup files from my other card onto it, and hooked it up to my Galaxy Nexus using my Meenova reader. The storage mounted, but it couldn't be accessed. The format of the SD card, I found out, was exFAT, not FAT32. My question is this: why when you use the device to format it does the 64gb card get put to exFAT instead of FAT32? I had to use my laptop to format it I to FAT32, just like the last time I got a 64gb card.

I've always had to use my pc, I think the phone is only set up to format it in exfat because you can transfer larger files than fat32. I may be wrong though.
I've been having problems with the external sd card, when i restart it shows 'sd card inserted' in the notification panel but under storage the only options are mount sd and erase sd. Its a generic 128gb sd which i formatted on the computer and the phone, when i hit mount sd it just shows the 'sd card inserted' again but doesn't actually mount. It only works if i format it in the phone and only until a restart. The card works perfectly on my computer. Anyone else having this issue or have a solution, there has to be something quicker than copy, re format and copy back the files
what type of computer did you format it on? in the past I had issues with formatting my SD cards on windows. I either had to format with the phone, a mac, or a linux pc.
I have not had the issue you are describing, but my card does unmount sometimes and then remounts immediately after.
Windows pc, but i reformatted it on the after it didn't mount, could it be the sd card? It was 14$ on ebay but the sellers feedback was 100% for the cards.
I'm wondering if it might be a problem with the reader or the firmware since it reads on the pc just fine.

I actually had a 64GB SanDisk MicroSD card unmount while in use on my G3 then I could never use it again. I'd try to format it and it'd act like it did but the same files/folders were there. I could no longer write to it. I need to still contact SanDisk about it to see if I can get a replacement.
You need to reformat it into NTFS format.
Then try to mount it. This is the case for anything 64g or higher.

potentional fix
I had this problem with my LGG3 not mounting the SD card, I found that taking putting the SD card into your pc/laptlaptop, copy over pictures and music you wish to keep and format it as a FAT32 this worked for me however the Android files on the card had to be deleted I think on of them was corrupting the SD card as it would show randomly on my phone.
Hope this helps
