Locked up - stuck in boot cycle - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

bit of emergency help please! Phone completely vanilla as it came out of the box two years ago., has all the latest updates applied. Last week as I'd run of App space I allowed the SD to become internal storage option but nothing else strange. Today I was having problems connecting to my Sat Nav so I restarted the phone, 10 minutes later I noticed it was stock on the HTC screen so I Volume Up + Power button restarted and now I'm stuck in this screen, nothing I do can get me to boot - any ideas please?
I've tried the factory reset option under HBOOT but it just returns me here

Ignore the below, just unplugged it and restarted it and its locked again!
after 20 attempts I plugged it into PC and its booted, totally wiped clean but it appears to be working. Got an S7 Edge arriving next week so I thinks its just the M8 getting jealous.

FIXED NOW!
Need help.
I burned the new Kavana ROM. everything was working ok.
placed my microSD and the device didn't recognize it, so i rebooted.
upon reboot the device got stuck on the white HTC screen.
pulled battery
tried again, rebooted, past the HTC screen to the Windows Mobile welcome screen but freeze again. hard reboot didn't respond.
pulled battery, then turned back on. device didn't even turn on!
tried several times with/without battery hooked up to power , and with/without SIM and/or microSD (all possible combinations) and nothing.
had lunch
went back to it and the device magically booted it but after the white HTC screen i got a blue screen asking about error from last reboot. said yes to correct. rebooted went past white HTC and into Windows mobile welcome screen and froze again.
repeated the process several times and finally got to the blue screen again asking about error from last boot, this time said 'no' and device continued boot in a white screen without HTC logo and froze.
all hard reset attempts were unsuccessful (if i'm doing it right: hold two soft keys and then power button).
now the device boots to the white HTC screen and then is stuck.
what to do?
edit: got the hard reset to work and reconfigured my phone. i only noticed the black screen for a split second because my Dash has issue that it thinks that the green send button is being pressed all the time (anyone know how to fix that?).
Thanks
Find your original rom in sticky, go into bootloader and flash original rom, then flash to wm6.1.
have the same issue!!... did you fixed? the main problem is activesync is not running so how do i install another ROM?
Active sync doesnt have to be working aslong as u got ur s621 pluged in and u wait for a few seconds before starting the ROM it will work.

[Q] Faulty Desire, continously reboots

Hi,
I've been given a Desire with "special needs". Who gave it to me started having problems after upgrading to Froyo with OTA update. After that the mobile started to reboot by itself. I switched it on and it started well, after a while anyway it rebooted. After that it started rebooting continuosly, without even going beyond the HTC logo. I tried going to the HBOOT (power + volume down). I cleared the storage, then I tried doing a recovery. After that it came out with a black screen with the telephone and a red exclamation mark. Trying to do volume down + power or other crazy combinations doesn't help. So took the battery off. After that I could start normally showing me the usual telephone setup. If I stayed in setup no reboot was happening. I started doing the deeds necessary to root the phone. So I completed the setup and after that I could even connect to the phone with ADb. To root it I had to go to the HBOOT, so I rebooted the phone and I went into it.
I'm using this guide
**Sorry XDA doesn't allow me to link** The guide is android den's HTC desire guide for HBOOT > 0.80
The program that is supposed to do the rooting (Unrevoked2) stays still and doesn't do anything (doesn't even see the device, even if the device is present in Windows device manager as Android bootmanager or something like that).
Bored I tried to restart the phone in normal mode. But it started the rebooting thing... So I took the battery off, waited some time and ... same result.
Then I tried recovering it again, but this time the red exclamation mark doesn't come out. Instead it reboots to the HTC startup log and remains still.
If I reboot after a bettery rest, without going to HBOOT, it will go into the reboot thing.
This is the situation. Do you have any advice?

US Unlocked stuck in bootloop. Unable to boot into recovery/download.

Okay, I have never had to create a thread for this kind of thing. I have always been able to solve these issues. This time around, I have ran out of ideas. I have been searching and searching Google, Xda and any other Android forum. I have seen multiple threads with this problem, some cases exactly like mine. Not one thread with this problem ends with a solution, they're all just dead ends. My HTC 10 started doing this a couple days ago after a notification popped up saying that I was using an incompatible charger after using a Samsung USB cable on a Quickcharge 3.0 car charger. 30 minutes later, my capacitive touch buttons were not responding. So, I just figured that I would reboot and everything would be fine. Now, my phone is stuck in a bootloop with no signs of recovery. The only thing it will boot into is the white bootloader screen. Trying to boot into recovery or download just throws it back into a bootloop. When its powered off and I put it on a charger, the charging animation will show for about 15 seconds then, back into a bootloop. Trying to use a RUU.exe doesnt work, just a message shows up saying that my phone is below 30% charge. The device will show up in fastboot devices when its in the bootloader but, its useless. Trying to flash anything in fastboot fails or does nothing. The bootloader doesnt recognize 2PS6IMG.zip in the sd card. I really need my phone for work and cant afford to wait for HTC to repair it, especially since Hurricane Harvey hit their repair center in Houston. I've taken out the Sd Card and sim to see that would help but nothing. I let it die completely and still nothing.
My bootloader screen shows
Status: Official
***Unlocked***
***S-OFF***
I have been running Viper 3.5.0 for awhile.
This is my last option to see if anyone else has got through this problem without sending it off.
Thank you

Hold down the power button and vol down until your phone reboots. It'll take 20 seconds or so, and the capacitive button lights should flash until it reboots.
That should take you to download mode where the RUU.zip on your SD can be flashed.
If that doesn't work, try power + vol up + vol down, then switching to power + vol down when the screen goes black. I think I remember having to do that once when I first got the 10 for a different problem, but it could have been a different device

Soft-Bricked M9

I've had an M9 for 2-3. After the first year I got my phone, I installed a custom recovery and rooted it but later uninstalled root and custom recovery. It has been fine ever since except recently. Last month, my phone randomly crashed for the first time and got stuck in the infinite bootloop. It was as if everytime it tries to boot up, it crashed during it. If I hit the power, vol up, and vol down button, I make it to the screen with the option to go into recovery, download, etc. But when I actually try to go into either bootloader, recovery, or download mode from that menu, it crashes and goes back to the white htc logo. I've have gotten the phone to bootup a couple times by leaving it in the freezer as it tries to boot up but after using it for 1-5 minutes, it crashes again. If I don't use the phone at all, then it usually wont crash. After a day or 2, the phone fixed itself. Then one morning, my notifications got stuck together and my screen became unresponsive. So I took my death sentence and restarted my phone and now my phone has been doing the same exact thing for a week. I don't know how to fix this problem because getting it crashes trying to go into recovery and trying to do a factory reset is risky since it could crash during the reset. If also manage to make it into safe mode thinking maybe an application or virus is causing this but the phone crashed in SAFE MODE so I don't know what the problem is. I doubt there is any saving this phone because is probably a hard ware problem but who knows. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you.
Flash back to stock. Stock firmware fixes all sorts of issues.

HTC M9 Stuck on Bootload After Battery Dropping to 0 Fix/Work Around

Hi all,
My phone is rooted (still S-ON)(TWRP installed) and running viper's ROM. Last night I forgot to charge the phone when I got home, when I looked it was 1% and shut off. I plugged in the phone and foolishly tried to reboot right away instead of waiting a good ten minutes. Well the phone never got out of the HTC logo screen. I would hold down the power and it would vibrate twice, no clue what that mean't. Anyways I waited for at least 10 minutes to give the battery a chance to chare and see if it rebooted but it didn't. Finally I was able to get into recovery doing the following. Hold down the volume up and power button till the phone reboots (screen will be black) Then quickly hold volume down and power until you see the HTC logo on the black background. Then you should have the options to boot into recovery and into twrp. I had to do a data wipe as something in the OS got hosed. I lost all apps and SMS but at least I was able to boot back into the phone. Hope that helps some out there.
I have encountered this same issue on 2 phones but couldn't recover either without reflashing a stock firmware.
