Try to unbrick G3 (D855) drives my crazy - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
last week I tried to update my LG G3 (D855) to Android 6 using this guide: http://www.zdnet.de/88257075/anleitung_android-6-0-marshmallow-auf-lg-g3-installieren/ (sorry, it's in german but it's just to understand what I did).
I follow all the steps until the phone reboots the first time or better should boot... Nothing was happened, the screen stays black...
I searched for hours and read many web pages how to unbrick my G3 and found several documentations how to archive that, but no way works. I used my Win10Pro x64 first and tried additionally with a Win10x86 in a VirtualBox VM.
I used this drivers: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3261089&stc=1&d=1428980071
My G3 was shown correctly as Qualcomm HS-USB QDloader 9008 (COM#) in DeviceManager and the tool androidbrick_G3_fix from http://www.androidbrick.com/unbrick-recover-your-dead-lg-g3-g2-all-variants/ runs without any error, all steps have the state OK.
BoardDiag3.99c was unable to communicate with my G3: "Device was not found in dload trying flash programmer"
I also found the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/unbrick-lg-g3-qhsusbbulk-qualcomm-9008-t3072091, but it didn't help me to fix my issue.
I tried also different COM ports, but no success...
Any useful tips how to bring my G3 back to life?
Thanks in advance!

This helped me:
http://www.droidviews.com/how-to-restore-verizon-lg-g3-to-stock/

This will not help in my case, because my G3 doesn't boot. The display stay black.

[LG G3][Hard Brick] - error "Failed during loading flash programmer" on BoardDiag
Hello everyone,
First of all, sorry if I'll make grammar mistakes. I'm french and still learning english.
I have hard bricked my LG G3 (D855, 20T, EUR, 32 Go) after flashing a .zip... I tested everything but nothing fixed that... I am exhausted... Please help me !
I followed this thread ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/fix-unbrick-lg-g3-stuck-qualcomm-hs-usb-t2933853 ) to unbrick the phone.
Step 1 : Worked fine
I've installed Qualcomm drivers, now I have "HS-USB QDLoader 9008(COMx)" in Device Manager on Windows 10 and extracted the .tot files using BoardDiag
Step 2: Error
BoardDiag says "Device was not found in dload trying flash programmer"... Found a fix (remove the battery -> unplug cable -> replace battery -> plug the cable) but NOW the @#|²! error is "Failed during flash programmer" I'm becoming crazy !!
Please help me how to fix this MOD EDIT: profanity removed
ive fixed alotta bricks and ive never gotten board diag to work...i think the verison we have access to is the correct one..its a fake...no matter which phone it'll give that message
Ok but what do you recommand me ?
Up
please
Found this old thread and would like to add some info for future searchers
I was getting the same error "Device was not found in dload trying flash programmer" no matter what usb cable I used and for how long I kept pins shorted. I was using Windows 7 64 bit
And then just out of curiosity I installed Windows 7 32 bit, updated it to the latest, installed 32bit Qualcomm 9008 driver, installed all VC runtimes - and it worked!
Hope this helps someone in future

Overwritten aboot.img -> G3 bricked?

Hi guys,
I made a stupid mistake:
I was overwriting aboot.img from terminal to solve "secure boot failed" error. I didn't have backcase installed and battery fell out.
Now, the phone is bricked or at least the screen remains black, no vibrating, no flashing LED.
Is there anything I can do to revive the phone?
Can you enter anything ? Download mode ?
IF nothing you have to force to qualcomm 9008 mode and use boarddiag to fix the phone
Download-mode (Vol-up while plugging in USB) does not work.
Do you think, I can unbrick it by using willcracker's method?
Is there anything I need to keep in mind? Can you give an estimation whether this approach will solve the issue?
Yes, both willcrackers and the link will fix it
If you somehow fail write here
uhm, it seems as if the archive is protected by password? Any adive on how to get hold of it or any alternative solution?
What's also a little strange: the file "androidbrick_G3_fix.7z" is above 100MB while the download of "BoardDiag v2.99a.zip" is around 7MB...
Do I need to dis-assemble the G3 to short the pins stated here?
I did the EXACT SAME THING. I guess we can be idiots together, right?
Unfortunately, boarddiag refuses to flash with some error about the AP and android_g3_fix fails for me (looks like it's working but does nothing).
If you want to try anroidbrick_g3_fix you can email the author for the password.
I'm at a loss as to what to do, I'm already in qualcomm 9008 mode with drivers...
Follow the steps on this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/help/fix-marshmallow-autorec-hard-brick-t3284608
After i killed my G3 with TWRP (Autorec for LP) on MM i bring my G3 back to life.
Tip: Use a thin massive copper caple, 0,5mm, and put the other end on the top of the sim-slot for ground.
It´s easier.

I don't have TWRP though, will it work?
Didn't seem to. I've had horrid luck with BoardDiag though...
I'm not sure if it makes any difference, but my phone is a Verizon 32GB LG G3 w/MSM8975AC that came preflashed with 35b 5.1.1 (thanks, ,verizon) and has never seemed to respond to any of the downgrade methods. Hence me playing with partitions, flashing aboot to an earleir version, and getting into this mess by failing to flash sb1.
I'm willing to pay to get this fixed, but unsure where to go or who is reputable.
I have managed to shortcircuit the pins and get my G3 to be listed as "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008" and a corresponding COM port.
When I start the "androidbrick_G3_fix" as administrator, the tool shows that "USB Status" is "not ready". In the guide it says:
if your driver is installed you will see your port, if not, youll see “Not ready” in little green window.

EDIT:
I've used BoardDiag 2.99a to flash different partions according to this source extracted from *.tot file.
Now the phone (obviously) does not boot and shows "Security Error".
Trying to enter download mode seems to work though as it shows "Download Mode" followed by "Firmware Update".

Anyone got an idea how to fix this?

You need to do the short and connect the cable with the tool open first. Otherwise for some weird reason it doesn't detect the phone.
It appeared to work for me but did nothing. I hope you have better luck.

Just saw your edit.
If you can enter download mode, you can now flash a tot using any online guide for such, and in theory unbrick your phone.
As for me, still no luck.
Willing to paypal gift $30.00 to anyone who can help. I've recieved some help invitations but they all insist I install whatsapp, and I can't do that without a phone...
Currently, I am flashing a kitkat kdz (D85510f_00.kdz) to the phone using LG Flash Tool 2014.
It seems to takes ages but is progressing nevertheless. After 30 minutes the tool says 14% whereas the phone says 5% on the screen. I hope the process speeds up a little...
Wish me luck

@ R-T-B:
Are you able to get the phone to 9008 mode? Have you tried using the plain BoardDiag 2.99a to extract from *.tot file and flash those afterwards?

I wish you enough luck for both of us!
But seriously, good luck. Sounds like you are in the home stretch.
EDIT: Yes, I am in 9008. Unfortunately BoardDiag seems to refuse to flash it with AP errors. I think it's an issue with the updated chipset Verizon uses on the 32gb model.

LG Flash Tool /Windows 10 Pro 64 Bit

Hi
LG G3 D855 OS Android 5 V21c-TWN-xx
I am trying to upgrade to MM via the subject Flash Tool but it gets as far as 15% and then a Window pops up telling me
that the Phone has been disconnected and to reconnect and retry.
The phone is still connected and showing as such in explorer. I re-installed the drivers and still the same problem.
Tried compatibility mode Win 8 and the same thing happens. Anyone have this problem in Win 10 or know of a way round it.
I also have a WIn 8.1 Laptop which I used to update to the current OS with Flash Tool 2014 but it is now stopping and giving an error
"This programme has stopped working MS is checking Blah Blah"
Stransky
Having the same issue here with D852
Reinstall G3 usb drivers

LG Up shows phone as "unknown" no matter what I do.
I also have a G Flex 2 and this shows up ok in LG Up.
Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
I downgraded from MM to LP two days ago. I had the little window saying "unknown "
The problem was that windows wasn't seeing my phone. I unplug the cable and plug it back and it worked. As I wrote before I am using windows 7.
Hi
Managed to get LG Tool 2014 to work and D855 now on v30b (MM) global.xx. Problem was driver related. I downloaded Win 10 G3 specific driver from LG site and everything then worked.
good to know pal.
i have lg g2 mini
the keyboard dos not start and my phone has number password
what can i do to restor my phone?
it is not root
I have windows 10 pro and i get same problem, i have solved this with driver usb install (sorry for my poor english)
Found my old LG-VS450PP Optimus Exceed 2 for Verizon. It was working fine when put away.
Charged the battery on a working phone (same model) but this recently resurrected phone will not boot up. Same results using vol+ / power or just power button regardless of sequencing battery out/usb cord in or out.
Gives error "boot certification verify" and then shuts down. Back light remains lit.
I can get it to open into another screen (Vol- / power) that offers four options: continue reboot, factory data reset, wipe cache, safe mode boot. Selecting any of those options results in the unit shutting down.
Vol+ plus power do not open Download window.
While it fails to boot, I can still see two folders on my Win 7 PC: image and verinfo. Image contains numerous files . So the phone IS connected to the PC but there appears to be something else that fails to initiate "connection" as far as the LG Flash tool 2014 is concerned. Any suggestions welcome.
Thinking of last resorts, I read somewhere of shorting a test point on the board but can't find directions for this model.
This web site is goog and helpfull for me.

LG G3 seems bricked, but it's recognized by computer

Hello,
My LG G3 (D855) doesn't turn on and I can't get it to boot to the recovery or download mode. However, when I plug it to my computer (windows), it's recognized as LGE AndroidNet USB Serial Port (COM9). Recently, I bought a new battery but I think that's unrelated.
Everything started when I was following the steps described on this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/help/help-secure-boot-error-trying-to-boot-t3054977
When I tried to reboot it, as the post specifies, it stopped turning on at all.
Is there something I can do so it turns on again?
Also, I can't find the tot file of the ROM I was using to try the method described in the link bellow. The ROM was a stock one, D855 20A.

Softbricked LG G3 D855 help

Hey, so i have an lg g3 d855, and i read all the treads in this forum, but i can't make it work. I had a g2 before but that phone is completly wasted now, my friend gave me his G3, and it's on bootloop, after the phone frooze for no reason and turned off.
So i literally tried everything i can.
First of all i tried LG flash tool, with the original .tot file and the d855 dll. This one does nothing. After pressing the yellow arrow, and plugging in the phone in download mode, i got a "model information check ERROR".
hxxp://i.imgur.com/XzqYOnl.png
(note: i plugged in a 2.0 port, and i have the original lg driver: LGE ANDROID NET USB SERIAL PORT at com41)
hxxp://i.imgur.com/mTHRWJg.png
After this i tried LG flash tool with the lg g2 dll , i read that in this forum too, and something happened. it started the procedure, the phone is recognise the com41, doing nothing still at 0%, but at 6% (in the computer) it stucked with the error : "we can't communicate with phone [KILO packet]" or with "LAF read GTP failed".
hxxp://i.imgur.com/iA7b5Ht.png
Then i tried the lgup, i got the same error message: "we can't communicate with phone [KILO packet]"
hxxp://i.imgur.com/e3wKbLx.png
And i tried the LG flash tool 2014 with .kdz and it stucked at 4%.
I don't know what else can i do , or what i did wrong, i searched every forum i found but nothing :/ Pleas somebody help me, this is impotant for me.
Also i have a .log file if it can help with troubleshooting.
I included screenshots, but i can't post links because i'm new so use http instead of hxxp.
Szia, pontosan ugyanez a probléma áll fent, azóta sikerült megoldanod? Hogyan?
