Hardware change, CDMA to GSM? - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi All, I went about replacing the battery and USB on my sprint M8 but unfortunately broke one of the ports on the board for one of the ribbons in the process. My contract with sprint is up early April and I was gonna jump onto a GSM provider anyway... If I was to get the board out of an an at&t/t-mob variant, would it literally be as easy as plugging the board in and good to go with a GSM provider? Its currently taken apart and would be easy to just take this one last step, just wondering if anyone knows if this is a feasible idea or not.

(Insert CDMA HTC PPC here) w/ Kaiser body?

Ok, so I highly doubt this will work at all BUT I've been tossing around the idea of switching from AT&T (GSM) to Verizon (CDMA) and since I know I can neither take my TILT w/ me nor mod my phone to work on CDMA (that's the way I understand it so someone PLEASE let me know if there's some miracle work around for this lol) so I was pondering if I could take some CDMA phone w/ the same slide functions so it's "landscapable" and tear the guts out of it and put it in my TILT. A HUGE thing for me is the tilting action of the screen. I knowwww it's such a truly MINOR detail but I dont think I could ever go back to a "single slide" phone like the Fuze or anything.
My first HTC phone was my lovable Wizard but my biggest complaint was having to turn the whole dern phone just to look @ the screen w/o the sun glaring all over it but I went through THREE of them (yes, sad, I know lol). One was an original from an AT&T store which met it's initial demise when it's screen got cracked beyond repair. The second was bought from eBay and met IT'S demise after I found out it was a 4th gen model and couldnt be unlocked (at the time) for ROM flashing and attempted to flash it ANYWAYS so it totally bricked my phone () BUT I took the two and Frankensteined a THIRD working phone from the innards of the cracked screen phone and the casing and screen from the bricked phone. Sadly, the 3rd phone (and the one that made me proudest lol) met it's untimely death to WATER DAMAGE of all things.
Ok, so that whole story being said...I don't mind breaking my TILT open and plucking out the insides IF another phone's innards can be transplanted into the remaining casing. Again, doubtful it's possible butttt figured it wouldn't hurt to ask!
Thanks in advance!
Dont switch to Verizon. If you want to go CDMA go Sprint. But I would never go CDMA.
All the devices can only be used in the US, the selection of phones sucks, and Verizon handicaps almost all phones they sell.
AT&T is clearly the premier GSM provider in the US. Anything else would be a downgrade.

HELP SIM tray broken

Well, my SIM tray holder is broken, I can see a small spring and my SIM doesn't stay in. I have tried to get the same part for the S3 t-mobile but can't find it.
I found the international one, SD SIM tray holder for i9300, but wherever I go, the only say to be compatible with the i9300. Does anybody know if I can use this part on my t-mobile s3 ?, the parts look the same (at least to me).
Thanks for you help
If I am correct you still have a year warranty thru manufaturer and TMO will replace device. My daughter had a BB Curve and about 9 months in starting having rebooting problems and they went ahead and replaced it 3 times and on the 4th gave a crazy discount towards another phone. More than likely it will be refurbished unit not a new one. Refurb has got to be better than buying a part that you would have to install yourself and possibly mess something else up. We did not have insurance on that phone either. So if you bought thru TMO call them up.
As long as you're the first owner/first to register service with T-Mobile with that phone, you can claim the warranty.

[Q] Need help replacing motherboard on note 2

So my note 2 died a couple of weeks ago... no matter what I do I can't get any sign of life. I tried different button combinations and connecting to the charger, pc, and even switching out the battery. The only conclusion I came up with is that my motherboard is fried.
I bought my phone unlocked overseas, its an international model. I'm looking on ebay and I see a few sellers offering motherboards / logic boards for the note 2. What I don't for sure is which one is right for me since there seems to be a few different sub models, some are for at&t , sprint, etc.
How can I tell exactly which board is right for my phone?
Thanks!
PS if you think there might be another reason for my phone dying or another way to resolve this, please share!

[Q] New Charging Port - Any Vendors?

My HTC One M8 (HTC6525LVW) stopped charging back in April. Took it to a phone repair shop near my university and the guy was able to fix it...temporarily! He needed to order the charging port for it and so I asked him to do that. Unfortunately he kept telling me that his vendors kept sending him the wrong one (needs to antennas?) since they only had one antenna, so now I'm left with a really slow Droid Razr Maxx phone. Our local repair shop said they'd be able to take a look at it and order the part, but I want to make sure that they order the right part. Could you guys please recommend me a vendor on amazon to order off of for my Verizon HTC One M8 phone?
Do you have the contact information for your guy? I have the same issue, sort of. I can find the part on ebay, but the one antenna usb port still works, so I am wondering what I will be missing if I only have the one antenna attached. I do not know if you still need the part. Let me know and I can link it.
I know its a bit old at this point, but for the HTC M8 /w 2 Antenna ports on the USB/Headset port the 2nd connection is used for the GPS connection and the 1st for Wifi. so one or the other will not work correctly if you don't have both plugged in. and if you plug the wrong one in the Antenna wont work correctly as they operate at different frequencies.

Can I combine a motherboard from one carrier with a daughterboard of another carrier?

I've got to replace my T-Mobile motherboard, long story, and a used one is like $30 more than motherboards of different carriers. I don't plan on using the phone. So I wonder if there is some relationship between these two pieces that would cause it not to work for anything but the phone. Anyone know? Thanks
