Thank you guys.
Great! Thnx for your hard work! I'll provide some feedback when I have it installed.
how to control vibration?

Thank you very much!
Could you look into flickering while in ambient mode problem? If you need a watch to test, ask me for team viewer.
Thank you so much Skinz! We all appreciate it!

I'm also experiencing rapid battery drain and I have always-on off and tilt-to-wake off. I did flash the test02.img MM kernel that Skin1980 posted before releasing this version - I don't know if the dirty flashing could be a factor.

Is this kernel faster than stock kernel?

I've flashed Skin1980's kernel v. 1.1 yesterday. In a few hours without any unusual activity the watch was stuck with "Android Wear is not responding" message 2 times, completely froze with "Android Wear shut down" error once, rebooted suddenly by itself once. Had to flash back original kernel. Maybe I should have done a full wipe immediately after flashing? Could this be the cause of the problems?

Since DooMLoRD has stopped the development of his great DooMKernel for the Xperia ZL, and after his permission, I'm proud to announce
UNOFFICIAL DooMKernel for the Xperia ZL
This is fully based on his original kernel sources at https://github.com/DooMLoRD/android_kernel_sony_apq8064
It's also compiled using Google GCC 4.7 Toolchain precompiled from his repo at https://github.com/DooMLoRD/android_prebuilt_toolchains
So, THANKS AND DONATE TO @DooMLoRD for his awesome job and for letting me build this unofficial release. Please, DO NOT REPORT BUGS IN THIS RELEASE TO DooMLoRD, since this is an UNOFFICIAL and UNSUPPORTED release.
You can follow the original thread for current DooMKernel at the Xperia Z forum here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2172888. There you will find all the features of the current release, and discuss specific issues specific to this kernel.
The releases are for STOCK JELLYBEAN 4.2.2 firmwares. Currently tested only on 10.3.1.A.0.244. Starting on v17r1 onwards, the kernel should work on both 10.3.1.A.0.244 *and* 10.3.1.A.2.67.
Starting on v13r2 onwards, I'm including a custom ramdisk, which is basically Sony's stock ramdisk plus two changes made by DooMLoRD: init.d support and fix for wrong date during boot.
Starting on v17r1 onwards, I'm including DooMKernel's ramdisk with all its goodies, including dual recovery! I had to spend some time adjusting a few things on it, to make it fully work on our ZL (changing some definitions from the Z to the ZL, and changing the event listener to access the recoveries).
Thanks @iridaki for teaching how to work with ramdisks: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1477845.

*MAJOR UPDATE* General instructions and recommendations
As with previous releases, to install this kernel simply flash the zipfile in recovery.
MY RELEASE DOES NOT INCLUDE RECOVERY. You can use XZDualRecovery http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2261606 from @[NUT].
Starting on v17r1 onwards, the kernel uses DooMKernel's ramdisk adjusted for the ZL, which includes dual recovery! So there's no need to install XZDualRecovery separately if you want, but you can still do so if you want!
I recommend you first BACKUP THE FOLLOWING DIRECTORIES:
Code:
/system/etc/firmware/wlan/prima
/system/lib/modules
Because the kernel includes new WLAN firmware and modules, and in case you want to go back to stock kernel, you can just flash the old kernel and restore your backups.
Thanks a lot..

I believe it should work, since for rooting .244 we need to flash the old .423 kernel and then back to .244. Since both are Jelly Bean 4.2.2, there should be no compatibility issues, but test and get back to us if it works.

It's not happening to me. Did you flash the zipfile including the new Wi-Fi module and firmware, or just the boot.img through fastboot? Also, do you have any app that may interfere with the Wi-Fi? Getting a reboot is one thing, but changing the MAC address is VERY strange.

Getting a reboot after switching on WiFi. After phone reboots WiFi works fine without any problems until turned off again. Switching off WiFi doesn't cause any problems only after switching WiFi on phone reboots.
Back to stock kernel - WiFi switches on without reboot.
If you look in z forum you will see there is a problem with the cyanogen WiFi module. In v13 it should be fixed so be patient until dbolivar have time to port v13 to zl.

I've installed the new kernel through my old recovery. And I can't think of an APP which could possibly interfere with WiFi.
One question. What are the most best improvements of this kernel? Much better than stock or only the modules like overclock and undervolt make dooms kernel? Convinced despite lose be engine?

I think there are major improvements over the stock kernel, specially if you use tools like Trickster Mod to adjust settings: more CPU and GPU governors to choose, overclock/underclock for CPU and GPU etc. This can give you better performance and/or better battery life. Check out the original thread at the Xperia Z forum (check OP) for a detailed description of all the improvements.

This kernel works only on sony firmware**NOT on CM10.1/10.2/11**
Guys is anyone interested in more optimisation (-O3 optimisation) of Doom Kernel. It might increase the performance of the phone
-O0 - Reduce compilation time and make debugging produce the expected results. This is the default.
-O3 - Optimize yet more. -O3 turns on all optimizations specified by -O2 and also turns on the -finline-functions, -funswitch-loops, -fpredictive-commoning, -fgcse-after-reload, -ftree-vectorize, -fvect-cost-model, -ftree-partial-pre and -fipa-cp-clone options.

Thanks . I myself have been learning how things work and also thinking of making my own kernel for cm11 later (as many modifications to kernels like doom or meow would be bad and something Developers didn't want). I'll tell you after I look at the sources. BTW did you compile any kernel before?
If you guys want I can try doing that (DT2W)
Regarding the Kernel sources for 4.3 from Sony's previous releases it looks like they take a lot of time to release sources :/
Edit: Double tap to wake feature is here: https://github.com/DooMLoRD/android...083f9939ef4/include/linux/synaptics_i2c_rmi.h
We need to include that in CM11 sources and do the following changes: https://github.com/DooMLoRD/android...mmit/63edfc06cae1446295846a4197874083f9939ef4

It shouldn't be THAT bad, but every 4.3 ROM has known memory leaks if you play too much with the notification bar (wastes RAM every time you touch the statusbar)... but your case sounds more like a bad compile
I would say you should flash stock jellybean via odin xxmg2 and then flash cm 10.2. So it should run normaly

I know various camera problems have been discussed but I have not seen any solutions. I have Eragon 6.5.1 and I am using the "Open Camera" app as the primary camera (I like it) which is built in to the ROM. My banking app allows me to e-deposit cheques but I find when trying to capture images the autofocus usually does not work. I can sometimes get a clear image by taking a fuzzy shot, then discarding and trying again. The camera is great as a camera but it just seems autofocus refuses to kick in on my banking apps. The banking apps app work like a charm on other phones and it seems I am reduced to using my old phone to do my banking while my shiny new P8000 sits on the desk and watches. Suggestions please.
This is a bug with the kernel version shipped - I forgot to set some flags there. Use my kernel or go back to stock and it will work. This is actually my fault :/

Sorry, I am a little confused, I am on Eragon rom 6.5.1 and kernel is reported by phone as 3.10.65. I previously had the Eragon beta build which included your kernel (dt2w is nice) but I believe the official 6.5.1 has reverted to the stock kernel so therefore I would not experience the third party camera bug would I ? Or does the current Eragon 6.5.1 flash somehow retain the bug, ( I use Philz recovery clean to install new rom function)?

If @skeleton1911 didn't remove it Eragon ships with a custom visi0nary's kernel I compiled for him (and which unfortunately contains a bug I don't have time to fix now...). The original visi0nary's kernel doesn't have this bug though.

Thanks for the input, may I ask what banking app you are using ? My camera also focuses pretty well when used as just a camera but the problem is in apps that use the camera for image capturing such as depositing a cheque electronically within a bank app.
Hi All,
I'm new to LOS and have a basic question. How often should I update? I was taught don't mess with anything that ain't broken!
Now if I wait too long, for example, updating from 17.1 to 18.x one of these days, would the built-in updater still be able to do a seamless update, or would I end up reinstalling everything for such a big jump? Seamless for me means I can flash the new one over the old one in TWRP without a wipe, and all my config would remain and apps still work!
Any thought is highly appreciated. Thank you
