Hi guys,
Since a few days, I have a very strange touchscreen problem on my Z1C. On a popup dialog box, I cannot press the "OK" or "Cancel" button in portrait mode. If the app is capable of displaying in landscape mode and the screen rotates, I now can select these buttons. Also, in the phone dialer window, I cannot select numbers 4, 5 and 6 in Portrait mode but it is O.K. in landscape mode.
I used the service menu to check the touchscreen and the there is an area where I cannot write (where the numbers 4, 5, and 6 are). But in other apps and also the touchscreen diagnostics in the settings area, it appears that I can touch the screen everywhere.
I have tried several different firmware versions also latest 5.1.1, with and without root and also older kitkat 4.4 but the problem remains the same.
Any pointers?
Thanks. Mugsy

Background:
I regularly use my TP2 (Vodafone 6.5 stock ROM-for now- running TF3D) as a SatNav unit running TomTom 7.
I use Gyrator2 to auto-rotate TomTom & other apps incl Manilla
While doing this, I like to keep the device in landscape mode (it then looks like a stand-alone TomTom unit but with added bling haha!)
When actually driving I also use a BT Headset (although I dont think this is part of the issue)
Problem:
When I receive an incoming phonecall or press the phone button with TomTom running in landscape mode, a strange thing happens.
First, TomTom reverts to portrait, even thought the device is in landscape. Then the phone is displayed, also in portrait. When I hang up the call, the display reverts to TomTom, which is still in portrait.
This means I have to manually rotate the device to portrait & back to get TomTom to re-display correctly in landscape, OR leave the phone permanently in portrait mode so the phone doesnt muck up the display (which kind of negates the point of having a g-sensor!)
Observation:
1) I tried changing from Gyrator2 to ChangeScreen in case it was Gyrator that was the issue: ChangeScreen has a nifty 'vibrate' to tell you it is rotating the screen. Assuming the device is in normal portrait mode, I can press the SEND key & the phone comes up as normal: pressing 'X' at the top right returns to the TomTom screen again as normal.
However, when I press the phone send key when in landscape mode, ChangeScreen causes the phone to vibrate madly for a good second or 2 instead of the small buzz it usually does for a screen rotation, as if it is busy fighting whatever setting is trying to force the device into portrait: briefly part of the phone screen is displayed before it vanishes again returning me to the TomTom screen.
At the moment I will have no option to return to Gyrator2, but that also exhibits this strange "forcing into portrait" effect when I press SEND key or an incoming call is received. (but at least it DOES display the phone screen, albeit such that I have to turn my head sideways!)
2) if I extend the keyboard, thus forcing the device to work in landscape, I can smoothly open the phone, straight into landscape, no glitches, all working perfectly; and when the phone app is closed manually or automatically TomTom smoothly returns, again in landscape, as it should.
Questions:
Is there a way of "kidding" the TP2 I have the keyboard slid out when I dont, in order to force the phone to display correctly, OR does anyone know if a simple registry edit will prevent phone from trying desperately to force the device into portrait mode before displaying?
On my old Kaiser I had screen rotation mapped to a spare hardware key. OUr TP2's only come with ONE hardware key, which I have set to MSVC. is it possible to create a 'screen rotation' shortcut similar to what was found on my old Kaiser?
If it's of any help, I have noticed this odd effect with both the Vodafone 6.5 & generic HTC Euro 6.5 ROMS (device is HardSPL'd)
I used keyboard config to map a doubleclick to screen rotate. That way I have more control.
My watch was working perfectly before the 5.1.1 update, but ever since the update, it is slow to wake, unable to swipe away cards from the watch face without opening them, the touch sensitivity is TERRIBLE....have to swipe over and over to get it to register, and for notifications I am unable to select "ALL"...can only select "priority" and "none".
Is anyone else having these problems?
5.1.1 problems are being discussed here if you're not aware:

No problem in starting a new thread, though.

I noticed that the touch screen seems derpy to me too. Something is definitely weird with the toggle shade thingy. I'm having the same problem with selecting "all". You can get it, but you have to find the exact spot below and to the left and tap frantically like a dozen times. I reccomend using the test app in developer settings and open the touch test. It will display a small grid and it will trace all your touches. Don't worry if it says fail. Just notice whether or not its tracking your finger. To get it to pass you have to turn the lines green by swiping in a certain direction. Mine tracks perfectly so, for me at least, the hardware is fine. Definitely a software issue.

Sent from my Apple Newton.
Yesterday I installed the Android M preview on my phone, and so I had to do a reset on my watch. Now all of the touchscreen wonkiness has gone away, and it's working fine!
Before I was unable to get the app list to appear by swiping from the right, but only by tapping once. Also, I couldn't swipe in the center of the screen in the mode selector shade, but only above or below the row of icons. Now that's all working as well.
I'm facing a weird issue with the Z5P touchscreen (tapping) action on the top left side of the screen panel, the usual location for the (back arrow <-) or the (Menu Icon).
1- after reboot everything works fine
2- after an hour or so, sliding (for example the facebook chat head) is detected over this area, but leaving it then tap to open is not detected, same happens with any application back arrow or menu icon, even the (back) of the settings for example.
3- in landscape mode the same area (the top left side) is not detected when tapping over, although the touchscreen panel location is changed now its at the top right, as i rotated the device clock wise
4- after reboot every thing works fine for an hour or so, then the issue is back.
tried the services test, the sliding touch is detected allover the screen, but at the (tap test) tap is not detected at box no# 1. this is weird for me as if there was a problem in the touch sensor, the problem should exist at the same location, even if i rotate the device, but it stays at the (back) arrow when the device rotates.
tried PCC software repair with no luck so far.
The Fix:
Facebook Messenger was the cause for this issue, by removing it the issue is gone immediately without even a reboot
Did you try disabling chat heads to see if it was only a chat heads problem? Because I have messenger installed and I don't have this problem.
thanks man, works like a charm

unfortunately, the issue occurred again even the chat heads was disabled
Just delete the facebook messenger app. Must be a bug. That's the only way I got my problem to go away.
Hello all
I have a problem with my touchscreen. the top of the screen no longer works. when I want to select something superior to the half of the screen I can not because the touch screen does not react. is that my screen is dead or there is a way to reparametrate it.
thank you for your answers and sorry for my english
I disassembled the watch and so the screen I do not see anything special that could prevent its smooth operation. does anyone have another idea?
Try to see "touch" on screen with set ON this option on developer mode settings (tap 7 times on build number on version info)
I will put a rom sony and I will try what you say. but even with the twrp the top of the screen does not work.
Donc tout have
bizard when I use debug mode I manage to select things on the top of the screen. Qaund I'm in the twrp I can not and when I install a rom I can not either. I do not understand why my screen does not work. I have to test with several rom and it is always the same.
edit : in fact no I can not select it is just that if I leave my must on the top of the screen I can change face not example but I can not enter numbers on the calculator

Hello,
I have a rooted ( Magisk-v14.5 ) OnePlus 5t with Android 7.1.1.
Without me ( knowingly ) changing any settings suddenly the following behaviour occurs:
While I am typing in an App like Tinder, E-Mail etc... the virtual keyboard keeps sliding down like i touch the little triangle button on the left bottom corner. But of course I am not accidentally touching it.
Sometimes the Keyboard is sliding down without me even touching the phone.
This behavior seems rather random, sometimes it works for hours ... sometimes I can hardly type anything.
For me it looks like some "App / Process / Command " is trying to take over the input controls of the phone but it never shows up
I use the most updated version of "Gboard"
I tried the following:
1. de-install "Gboard" and use other keyboards like "SwiftKey Keyboard"
2. changing all settings the I somehow would relate to keyboard inputs
3. I used the " developer options -> input -> Show taps / Pointer Location " to check if maybe my touchscreen sensors are broken and the phone actually registers an touch at the point where the little triangle button on the left bottom corner of the keyboard is. => No touch registered
Can someone help me or has similar experiences and a solution ?
