No need with unlocked bl, if you have fastboot. Just make sure your rom zip is on your sd card, then copy boot IMG from ROM to adb folder, and a recovery IMG, then 'fastboot flash boot boot.img', then 'fastboot flash recovery (name of recovery file).img', then reboot into recovery and flash ROM.
If you don't have fastboot, look here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=48915118
If you don't have drivers for your phone, download flashtool, and run driver pack - http://www.flashtool.net/

I followed HTC Dev to unlock bootloader of my HTC Wildfire S A510e.While doing so, I couldn't update boot loader(matching ROM wasn't available) but have successfully unlocked it for my device. I'm able to Root my device but during CWM installation, I'm unable to flash CWM (ROM Manager can't find Superuser though it's installed). Even Titanium backup can't find superuser.
Please see if anyone can help....[/FONT]

you have to flash cwm recovery manually by fastboot
Yes exactly.
Download CWM here:
GSM Phones only: http://download2.clockworkmod.com/recoveries/recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.8-marvel.img
CDMA Phones only: http://download2.clockworkmod.com/recoveries/recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.8-marvelc.img
BE SURE TO FLASH THE RIGHT RECOVERY OR YOUR PHONE WILL MOST LIKELY BE BRICKED
Put the image file in the same directory as adb and fastboot binary.
Boot the phone into fastboot and write this command:
fastboot flash recovery <name image file> (i.e. recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.8-marvel.img)
After successful flash download the root.zip file found in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1195275
Place it in your sdcard and reboot again into recovery.
Flash the zip, and voliĆ”! Rooted phone.
Be sure to update superuser from market and update the su binary after that.
thanks bro - bt 1 more help

Thanks a lot....I'm running Cyanogene 9 on my device now ! In weather widget, display is in chinese language only....how to fix it ?
Hi, I'm new to android rooting and flashing stuffs. I have Asus Zenfone 2 16gb version.
My frnd rooted my device and installed superSU (something like that) but the xmod app was not working, so my frnd gave me this Kingo root apk he told me that it will work. so I installed that kongo root..it says some files needed to be fix, so I presses ok..after the prosecco is done, I reboot my phone..but it stuck in loading. after that I'm finding solution to boot it back normally. I tried flashing new firmware which I downloaded from the asus website, but It failed in 48%, some one told me to flash TWRP recovery, so I flash TWRP recovery from adb sideload, after that I was not be able to go in recovery mode. I press for recovery mode...my phone restarts and again loads the fastboot or bootloader screen. after that I tried to flash other recovery image. but still I cant go in recovery mode. PLEASE HELP!!
You should not flash custom recovery with a lock bootloader. Unlock your bootloader first.
You dont sideload a recovery img. Go to bootloader, then enter this adb command
fastboot flash recovery (name of recovery image) .img
PS. Xmod dont work on intel based android processor. Correct me if Im wrong, Ive read that a long time ago.
So I wanted to install a CM ver on my mother's Redmi 1s and first thing I have to do is root the device right?
<image>
I have tried downloading several SuperSU.zip from multiple sources, including here at xda forums and the miui forums, to no avail.
Every single attempt has been a failure using the Stock Recovery that comes with the phone.
Fine then, I'll just use a custom recovery. I then connected the phone to my laptop via USB and used the sdk I downloaded.
After typing this line >>adb reboot bootloader, the phone booted into a screen with the fastboot bunny, all normal yes?
Then I typed >>fastboot oem unlock, but the image below doesn't show up on the phone
<image>
Instead, the command prompt just shows a few lines of the process completing
<image>
I continued to enter>>fastboot flash recovery customrecovery.img into cmd with the custom recovery image IN the platform-tools folder in sdk. Cmd again shows a few lines saying that the process completed.
<image>
However the phone still stays on the screen with the fastboot bunny, even after rebooting and then entering recovery mode, it is still the stock one. I have searched everywhere on how to root this phone but they just showed to install the SuperSU.zip using the stock recovery or the sdk method. If anyone could just help me solve this issue that would be great. If you need more information that I can provide regarding the issue feel free to ask. Thanks in advance !
P.s. Due to xda preventing me from posting outside links since I have not met the threshold, anyone who needs the pictures can message me privately.
Edit: Ah yes, I should also mention that I have tried using the stock Updater app to install the SuperSU.zip as well but that doesn't work. Also, I have tried using King Root and Kingo Root as the easy way, same thing.
Find the TWRP image for our device. I don't prefer the fastboot method; flashing TWRP and then the SuperSU zip is a whole lot more convenient as you don't need a computer.

But doesn't flashing TWRP without PC (with an app) requires the phone to be rooted to begin with? Or is there any workaround method?
Then use Philz recovery. There's a sticky in the general section that provides a link to such a guide using Philz. After rooting you can flash TWRP.

Nope, still doesn't work. Tried using the stock recovery to install update.zip and also flashing the .img via sdk, both doesn't work. I'm again out of options.
before do this backup your device
you can install custom recovery with official fastboot rom.
download any official fastboot rom for your device (stable or beta does not matter)
download twrp .img file for your device
rename your recovery image file to "recovery.img"
extract the fastboot rom
go to "images" folder in extracted fastboot rom
overwrite recovery.img file with your downloaded file
flash the fastboot rom with mi flash.
wait for the installation to complete
setup your device
turn off your device and go to custom twrp recovery.
after that you can install supersu or any custom rom via twrp.
I hope you have checked this post
http://en.miui.com/thread-104048-1-1.html
For me..I started with a zip file containing the custom recovery (TWRP) it was named as Update.zip I got it from a tutorial I googled (noob, I know)...and I flashed it using stock recovery (Redmi 1s don't have locked bootloaders, I guess) and then I had Custom recovery installed..I made a backup of MIUI (it was unrooted, stock) and then flashed the CM 12.1( it was the latest then). Then there was no looking back.
Here's the deal. I unlocked the bootloader of my OnePlus 3, flashed TWRP Recovery with "Tool All In One" through my pc. Then I was able to root my phone, I did it and then, flashed the Open Beta 9 through TWRP.
Now the problem I have now is that I'm unable to flash TWRP from my computer and I don't know why. It doesn't display any error or anything else. But when I boot into recovery mode, it is not TWRP, it's the stock one. Help me out. I want root and Xposed lol!
fastboot flash recovery TWRP.img
into recovery Vol Plus and Power
flash SU
beta9 is Nougat so xposed is not working yet.

You need adb and Fastboot.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588979&page=95
On The Fastboot PATH
Same directory, Put twrp.img
Shift and Right Mouse.Open cmd and type
fastboot flash recovery "twrp file name.img"
You can get TWRP.
I recommend TWRP .28
After you can flash any Rom and Kernel , SU etc...
You need modified TWRP Recovery to Run Open Beta 9, official TWRP won't work
Here's the link for Modified TWRP

Thank you guys so much, I successfully flashed TWRP on my phone. First time, it didn't want to boot but when I rebooted it id did
... Well, update: Booted into system and when y tried to boot into recovery, this time unplugged from the pc, booted with stock recovery -_-
... Update of the update haha: I downloaded the root zip and then I flashed the TWRP, Installed root zip and made a backup of the whole system and now, the TWRP recovery is installed permanently. Thank you if you guys followed my thread.
Backgrond: Fresh new device. I unlocked bootloader through the all in one toolbox here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/tool-tool-one-driversunlocktwrpfactory-t3358711) to unlock bootlaoder successfully and install twrp ( I chose this version TWRP 3.2.1 Blu Spark OP5T).
I unlock my bootloader successfully and then tried to install superSU through twrp. I realized at the time of TWRP installation, that I didnt have SUPERsu on my device so I booted up my phone, downloaded Super SU from (http://www.supersu.com/download) and then went back into recovery mode. I was able to install the file through twrp but now I'm stuck on the OnePlus Screen.
On the toolkit screen there was a message saying
"if you flash a modified recovery and you dont root your stock rom (or flash another rom) you will brick you phone.
Is that what I did? Should I flash a custom rom?
I can access fastboot, recovery, etc and use adb sideload. I thought maybe I installed the wrong super user file so I flashed a new one through adb sideload (this file SR5-SuperSU-v2.82-SR5-20171001224502) but that didnt do anything either.
What should I do?
