Hi guys and girls i have found something that could help all of us with the camera FOCUS!!!
My P8000 doesnt focus at all. It does everithing that its suposed to but the images still stay blured.
Untill i wipe dalvik and format cache. Then it works like a charm for some short period of time and then all over again no focus.
Maybe somebody who has the knowladge and will can see what is going on. And i would give a donation t who solves it.
THANKS!!!

Hi folks!
Did a search on this but no cigar so here goes.
Recently my camera app. has begun shutting down every time i try to record video.
The camera app is std. htc.
I get no error msg. at all. I hit the record button, get a BEEP, and i´m back at the home screen.
Still photography works fine just as everything else seems to be humming along nicely. I´ve tried a reboot without success. I thought maybe the card was too full as i´ve had a couple of movies in DVD quality wich incidently plays back without any hitches. I deleted them and have about a Gig of free space on the card. Didn´t help either.
I´m running rooted 1.32.405.6.
Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated. I know a hard reset would most likely fix the issue but it´s a rather heavy handed solution that i´d prefer not to use exept as a last resort.
Regards
ELO
Do you have ClockworkMod Recovery? If so I'd try "Fix Permissions"
Also have you tried clearing data for the camera/camcorder app?

Thanks for the input. Just tried both. Unfortunately without any improvement whatsoever.

I'm afraid short of a hard reset there is nothing else I could suggest.
Perhaps now is the time to try a custom ROM.
Never mind Andy. Ill try a new sd-card simply because i´ve been shopping around for a larger one anyway. Otherwise i think i´ll let the matter rest for now. I don´t use video recording very often.
I haven´t had the guts as of yet to try a custom ROM. Gingerbread should be right around the corner as stock ROM. If that doesn´t solve the issue i´ll bite the bullit and hard reset.
Thanks again.
Regards
ELO

Few days ago when i want to take a photo(it was night outside) all my photos was green...i change the settings and nothing. After this i tryed few third party camera apps and the photos again was green.Today i full wiped the phone and try another rom and the problem persist.
I wan't to mention that the first rom was ICJ 2.4 and the second is RD MIUI JB.You have any idea what is the problem?I don't know i must do or try to see what it's happends.
I attached a photo to see what is about...
I'd say there's an issue with the lense or Sense Photo chip as you've wiped the ROMs and it's still happening.
Or you've got a really awesome night vision Mod running you don't know about?

Try flashing the correct RUU for your phone and then if the problems is still there after, you know its hardware then.
The video camera function on my camera is no longer working and I’m not sure why. This phone is less than 5 weeks old and I have already taken videos with it. This upsets me because I have a 4 month old that I love to record especially when it comes to his firsts. The led flash light comes on when I push the video button, the screen switches and freezes. The message saying error prompts and when I close the camera, the led light will remain on until I reopen the camera. Hopefully you can help me figure this out, many thanks!

Which indicates you have been making changes to your phone related to video. Did you remove that or are you still using it.
Without knowing what your phone condition is in, it is very possible that other changes you have made is causing the problem as well...

Most don't need to update their modem and if you installed software that modifies how your phone works, you might try turning them off or uninstalling them to see if they are the cause of your problems.

u could try booting in safe mode and test if theres any app or tweak that is causing it. or u could enter Service / Test / Hidden functions by dialing *#0*# on your phone dialer and u gonna get to the service mode and check camera itself. also theres another one of those USSD codes that brings u to check the phone gadgets hardware /firmware version to see if it same as the camera app... u could also do a full factory restore from recovery screen if nothing else works remember to do a backup first @ titanium backup.. or if you have fair tech skills u could remove the back cover and remove the battery plate and check if tje battery connectors are in place im sure u could find a note 3 tear down video around.. i had the same problem but with the frontal camera and ended up been the camera was defective and replaced it and worked like charm
I know this thread is kinda old, but since it is on the first page on google's query, I'll post a solution here (found on another site).
The solution is to turn off the phone and remove battery for 10-20 seconds. This should resolve the issue.
Some users report that the issue occurs when you charge your phone via PC or laptop USB port. So, to avoid this, prefer original charger.
thanks
thank you for replying even if the post is old! it simply worked while i was about to sell my phone ! good thing i saw your reply first!
Did you ever find a fix?
Hello everyone
My problem is, I think hard to repair, because my rear camera in HTC Desire 820 doesn't focusing. Every photo taken by this phone is fuzzy
This phone is new because i have it one month.
What i did to solve this problem:
1. Hard reset
2. Clearing lens
3. Uninstalling camera application and clearing any cache
If anyone have idea how to solve this problem, please help me with this, thanks.
Sorry for my bad English ^^

Yep same problem, you can solve it by tapping to focus before pressing shutter, and also night mode during the day seems to work too
When I manually updated my phone I had the same issue. Try to wipe cache partition in the recovery. It worked for me.

Tried that, didn't help, it's trying to focus which is why tapping to focus first fixes it, hopefully fixed in another update
I'm also facing this issue, I'll try the tap to focus and see if this helps until they fix it
Maybe try to clear data for camera app? I've read somewhere that it helps.

Tryed but doesn't help.
I have the same problem. I tried all your suggestions and still takes at least 5 seconds to take the picture. In Live focus is even worse rejecting completely to take the picture. Any other suggestion, please ?

Yes, hence this thread
Tap to focus before hitting shutter fixes it, then wait for an update from Samsung for a real fix
