Has anyone else had to try and deal with LG uk support..? As my phone just died last wednesday (no power nothing only 7 months old!!) so I went onto there website to log the fault and request a repair. Thursday afternoon having not heard anything I rang them and again booked it for collection and repair. Will be picked up friday... Nope rang again friday afternoon to find out what was going on and oh dear they messed up and won't be collected until monday... Monday afternoon rang again as heard nothing, and guess what they had messed up again and won't be collected until tomorrow..?? Expected repair time 7 to 10 working days so by the end of this I would have been without my phone for the best part of 2 weeks..!! if they even pick it up tomorrow..!!
What makes it worse is if you goto LG uk website and do a search for LG local repair the nearest one to myself is 10 minutes down the road from me or is meant to be as I rang the place and was told that they haven't done LG repairs for over 3 and a half YEARS..!!
What does this say about a companys support network when they don't even update there own website for over 3 years..??
Anyone else has simliar problems and what was the end result for you..?
I agree with you completely, apparently the closest repair shop is over 100 miles according to the LG UK website. Seems stupid if you ask me.
My 815 was manufactured 04\15 so maybe I'm lucky but as buying mine off eBay I don't know if I would be covered for a repair anyway....

Hi!
last summer I bought new XDA 3 and 1 month later it fall down and the screen is crashed.
Is there any place, where I can get a spare screen cheap?
Or is anybody there, who has a broken Blueangel, which as an intact screen, which I can buy?
there are a few places on the net, search google or do a search on these blueangel forums, there are a few threads on this subject, BUT BE REALLY CAREFULL, YOU NEED THE RIGHT SCREEN FOR YOUR MOTHERBOARD.
BUY THE WRONG ONE AND YOU HAVE AN EXPENSIVE SCREEN THAT DOES NOT WORK...... BE CAREFUL.
my mate had his insured, after he cracked his screen, they didnt even ask to view the handset first, just asked what make/model and IMEI number. he waited 2 months and claimed, he got a new handset, lost all data, he saved most of it anyway, it was still functional apart from the touch screen, its amazing what actually does work without the screen tho.

Thx for all the help!
I think, I will go to the official service company and have it repaired there. BUt there it costs about 300 Euro
When I smashed mine in, I sent it to SBE Ltd in Kent.
They were very good. I sent it in to them in August of 2005, but then I went and lost my job and could't pay for it to be fixed. (I was told it would cost £100). I paid last week, and it cost £40 in the end. They even shipped it out to me to a new address, and between payment and me recieving it, took 3 days.

Wow. I've only had bad dealings with SBE but that is really cheap considering HTCeurope want £112 for a screen and digitiser!
What flavour blueangel was it? SBE are only agents for Imate IIRC and won't touch other stuff from experience, just as HTCe won't repair Imate or o2 devices :-(

Had my MDA Pro for only a week and a half and broke my screen.. Long story..
Anyway, I was crushed, I figured I wouldn't find anyone in the US to do the job. Found a few UK Companies, then I found PocketPCTEchs.com in California. For $249 they replaced my screen. The price seemed on par if not lower than the UK repair services..
Not only that I overnighted it to them Monday it will be on my doorstep tonight (Thursday) when I get home. Hows that for service.. ? I live in Virginia on the other side of the country.
I will let you know how the repairs went, I can only say if thier repairs are half as good as the customer service (I got emails when they got it, when it went into repair, and when it shipped with tracking number) I will be estatic.
They also warranty thier repairs..

Well I got it back and its awesome. Cant tell anyone worked on it.. other than the fact the screen is new.
I should mention, I have no affliation with them, other than being an extremely happy customerr.
I purchased Galaxy Nexus in dailysteals.com a month and a half ago when it was on sale for $460 (prior to google play availability) and yesterday it refused to power on from power off mode.
I did standard steps (recharge, battery out, sim card out, press and hold power, etc) countless times but the phone does not respond.
It only responds to charger in a sense that it shows charging signal but the phone still not powering on.
The phone might have gotten wet 2 days ago from rain when it was in my shorts, otherwise I have no explanation for this breakdown.
So I called Samsumg USA where I live and they asked for IMEI and they said this IMEI does not show in their system and advised to call Poland Samsung.
I called Poland Samsung (appears that dailysteals had Polish region version) but they have menuy on Polish and I cannot navigate it.
I called UK Samsung which is supposed to serve EU but they said since I reside in US and bought it from US reetailer Samsung USA should serve me (I explained I have been through it but this was no good).
I called dailysteals but they obviously do not respond, their reputation on Web reviews is not giving me any hope.
I feel going full circle for warranty and stuck. Did anyone succeed getting warranty service for international phone imported by apparently non-authorized reseller? What about non warranty service, I assume repairing it is cheaper than buying a new one, since screen and everything is supposed to work...
Any option for repair before selling it for parts like screen on ebay which I presume works OK?

How wet did it get? If it is moisture or water damage, then i would say sell it for parts but you might still have hope. I would suggest taking it down to a local cell phone store and ask them to run some diagnostics or open the device and check for burnt or damaged areas from the water.
Good luck to you.
Spent hours with Samsung on the phone today. They have assured me there is no place that would service it in the US on warranty and off warranty, Not a good situation as European Samsung also flatly rejected my request.
I gave up on repair and will try to file Purchase protection water damage with Amex. If this does not work will sell for parts to someone who needs screen and other staff, amazing that one cannot get it serviced anywhere in the world except maybe Poland and I do not speak Polish to navigate their voice menus (called there too).

Well you bought a grey market European device. Samsung USA does not have to service it because its a Euro device, and Samsung Europe doesn't have to service it because you're trying to file the claim from the USA.
Unfortunate but this was widely known when you bought the device. This is why buying from a reputable importer that is willing to help with warranty is important.
Did anyone who bought directly from them get a return box to send old N7 back yet?
Where do you live?
In the UK, at least, the UKMail driver who delivered the replacement unit took away the old one at the same time, in the bag that the new one came in.
I opted for the pickup. Received a call from a recycling company. Lady was very nice. I told her I can't schedule to pick it up until I get my new device. She understood and said she will call me back today. Good news is my replacement should be delivered today as well.
I'm in NY btw.
I'm in the US and I got my replacement yesterday. I called today and they said the boxes to return the old device would be shipped out next week.
Got a call from Stericycle to pickup my old device tomorrow.

Good to know, no refund for me until they get it back. Didn't want to wait so bought a replacement Note7 locally just as the whole process was beginning.
Got the box today but still no device yet.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using XDA-Developers mobile app

Oh really? You bought it from Samsung.com?
Shoot, I've been calling those idiots many many times since they started the #galaxynote7 recalls. Every time when I called, they always says they'll be sending me the return shipping label. And I'm still waiting. Good thing I paid through paypal. I filled dispute charges. 10 days later NO respond from Samsung.com. Now Paypal refunded me back $925.43.
Bought mine from the Verizon on-line store, and had the replacement shipped to me as well. Received a txt from VZW earlier this week that a box w/return label was being shipped to me, and it arrived this morning.
I'm quite glad that I didn't take the risk of returning it to a VZW corporate store and potentially have to give up the accessories that came with the phone. The instructions were very clear that the phone itself is all that should be returned (you can view the instruction sheet in my post over in the VZW Note 7 Q&A forum).

My credit card bill is due next week. If no box received by then, I will also call my card and hold back payment. Better to have that money on my side till they get their sh**t together.
So I got the box today. Sending back for full refund. Interesting thing is the box has no provisions to send back any included accessories, only the phone itself. seem they mean for me to the keep charger, cable etc.
I just bought a new condition Nokia 8 Sirocco for review purposes and then planned on reselling it, of course I dropped it first day I got it (luckily with the case on), but unluckily it shattered the front glass. Touch seems to work just fine however, BUT...
Nokia won't sell me the part or help me at all since I'm not in the same country as where it is available from their website.
I tried ordering parts through a cellphone repair store authorized with Nokia, and even called and emailed places in both the UK and Canada that were authorized Nokia repair stores, and they are unable to get me the part or repair it for me even if I pay shipping there and back as well as for the repair and part.
The one website I found that sells the part for a very reasonable 400 rs (5-6 usd) only ships within India.
I've wasted so much time trying to figure out how to just get the part, much less have it repaired. If anyone has any ideas, suggestions, or can help me out I'd be incredibly grateful, or if you can sell me the part directly that would work as well.
Thanks for your time !
Front Screen for Nokia 8
China is the main source of cell phone parts. So, I think you should try "Aliexpress". And they can deliver your product in the USA.

hi wiederganger,
i just bought a N8S with cracked screen, too good a price to not, i'd seen an ad via google for replacement screens for £69.99 in UK so thought id get it fixed easily, but when i got the phone i checked out the company on trust pilot, it is a scam, all bad reviews nothing good. I got in touch with nokia uk, they quoted £303GBP (about $400USD) for the repair, i can get new glass put in a samsung S8 for £70, so they are way over pricing it and withholding parts deliberately. i tweeted this info out, maybe they'll wake up as nobody would buy one if they realised the screen replacement cost. imho if they make things that break so easily they should be forced to supply replacement parts by law. or use a better screen that can be dropped, we all drop phones once in a while.
anyway i also searched around for glass only. everywhere in china i can find (aliexpress mainly) sells the whole LCD assembly for about $150USD, which is an option if all else fails. 1 place in india has screen only. again a hassle to get it sent overseas. but first ill wait a while, im sure the parts will become available. luckily this phone is usable as is, ill eventually fix it and sell it before i break the screen then buy another smasung because too much hassle to get parts for nokia. similar to apple who deliberately withhold parts also. just dont buy from these companies. i wont buy anything from nokia again. ill let you know how i get on.
Hi, I dropped my Sirocco 8 in December and the glass was toast but the screen worked okay. I bought it in the UAE and have since moved to Malaysia.
Nokia in Malaysia wouldn't touch it and told me that I'd need to send to the country of purchase for repair. I'm not keen on the idea of sending the phone back to the UAE so I too found the company in the UK (QMF) and have sent the phone to them. They've now told me that they cannot obtain the parts so I'm now scouring the web in the hope that someone can fix this phone for me. I loved this phone and if I'd known the trouble I'd have to get it repaired, I would have either not bought it or wrapped it in cotton wool!
If anyone has any luck with getting their phone repaired, I would appreciate if they could share details.
Have a good one.
I sent my N8S to the said repair shop for £69.99 to replace the screen -3 weeks ago. Today, they sent me an email wanting another £180 more for the LCD replacement. I told them to cancel the repairs and refunds will be 30 days.
