Hey everyone,
So, i've taken the plunge and have purchased a Moto 360 (first gen) instead of the Apple Watch. I just preferred the look of it TBH.
Now that i've been able to finally upgrade the OS on the watch in order to pair it with my iPhone, I've run into some issues with a few things.
1) How can I download music for OFFLINE playback via bluetooth? I have Google Play music on my iPhone, but I don't seen an option for downloading anything to the Wear app.
2) I've read that the FACER app CAN be used w/o an Android phone, but i'm not sure how to do it?
The music functionality is the main thing i'm looking for. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated

1. Doesn't work with iOS. You can only sync music for offline with an Android phone, not an iPhone
2. Works only with iOS if the watch have a USB connection for side loading. Moto 360 does not have a USB port thus it will not work when paired with iOS need an Android Phone again.

I find it hard to believe I'm the only one who likes my M360 syncing with my tablet when I'm home, and with my smartphone when I'm out. There is actually no official way to pair the M360 with multiple Android devices at the same time, but I have, however, figured out an alternative. I am going to assume that you already have it paired to one device. If not I believe there are other threads out there to help you with that!
Steps:
In the Android Wear official app, tap the watch icon on the translucent black bar atop the screen to disconnect the M360 first
Check to make sure that underneath the name of your device, the status reads "Not connected"
Go to the watch settings, and reset the device, yes unfortunately there is no way around except factory resetting first
Now go through the original instructions upon boot making sure that this time you pair it with your OTHER Android device
Follow the first two steps again after the device has been paired successfully and booted up
Congratulations! The M360 should now pair with the two devices one at a time after being disconnected from one another!
Hope this helped you guys, as this method definitely works for me with my Nexus 7 (flo) and Galaxy SIII (SGH-I747)!
Doesn't work as of now, using a Google Nexus 10 tablet and Sony Xperia Z2 smartphone. Whichever device is paired last works fine. The other device will manage a pairing request just fine after disconnecting the first one, but once that pairing request is approved, it will sit forever on the "Connecting..." status, and never actually connect.
Is this every watch? I use 2 phones every day because my work does not allow camera phones. I think not being to connect to 2 devices at this junction of tech should not be a handicap.
is it possible to install RunKeeper on moto 360 and upload all activity to my profile?

Yes this is an Android Wear limitation, not a Moto 360 one.

I second that opinion. I just learned of this yesterday when I got my Moto 360. I have been using SmartWatch 2 before and figured that Android Wear being so much newer and with more features it would allow me to connect it to multiple devices... well, crap.
Is the situation same even with the new 5.1.1 version of Android Wear? Google *still* doesn't let us connect to multiple devices?
(And iOS doesn't even have the Android Wear app.. you'd think we live 15 years in the past with these stupid limitations...)
No this limitation has not changed.
so do i have to connnect everytime that i leave one device behind within the app? Bc they both wont stay connected its one or the other??
Hey Everyone!
I just bought a Moto 360 even though I have an iPhone. Through the use of a trusty old Xperia U I managed to do the first configuration and update to the latest O.S. on the watch, adding the Wi-Fi standalone connectivity.
The use I want to do of the device is the following:
Occasionaly, through the Android phone, add watch faces
Siply use the watch standalone for Steps, Heart Rate, and notifications maybe with Aerlink
At this point I would like to set the watch to connect to my home wifi network, and simply upload the fitness data to Google fit in the cloud, without ever using my old android phone (except for new watch faces or changing configuration or updates). Can anyone help me out in achieving this??
Thanks to all!!
Hi!
Someone tried to connect SW3, or another smartwatch with android wear OS, with an blackberry phone?!
I would like to return at BB, but at the same time i don't want to lose my Sony SW3.
Thanks!
P.s. I am sorry for my English! :crying:
If this is a relatively new BlackBerry, I think someone got android apps to run on the OS. I would start by trying to sideload the wear app.
Edit: here is a link.
https://supportforums.blackberry.c...want-to-run-Android-Apps-on-Your/td-p/2784957
I searched and i found that , for now, problem is that google play service isn't supported by BB os, so Android wear not work...
Yeah, I was worried about that. I do not know much about BlackBerry, but on locked devices, people have found a way to add Google play services, but it is a pain. What would be more likely is either a native port, or android port of the Apple apps. That is much more doable. Does your phone support bluetooth low energy? If not, it won't happen at all. Sorry.

I have a Blackberry Passport and a SW3, and while the Passport can pair with the watch, I haven't been able to get the Android Wear app to run on the phone (requires Google Play Services). Keep in mind, I haven't spent much time trying - user Cobalt on Crackberry has a patch that might work (http://forums.crackberry.com/androi...lts-official-google-apps-landing-page-965257/)
As a workaround, I leave an old Android phone sitting at home on Wifi and the watch is able to connect to Wifi hotspots and get notifications. Doesn't work with calls or texts, but I am happy enough to keep the watch.

Hi spoky27, would you kindly tell me the method you found to connect the wear directly to the blackberry?
I appreciate it even with some limitation.
Thank you.
I just realized that the pairing the moto360 with iOS does not support 3rd party custom faces!
It is very frustrating to use moto 360 without custom watch faces.
In this case, if I root the moto360, is there any possibility to put the custom faces with PC directly?
Good question, i want to know this too.
Found this, trying this today. If it works I'll write up a detailed list of steps unless someone beats me to it
First I found one to try LCARS Android Wear Watch Face
Then I used the Evozi APK downloader to get the phone APK
Extracted the APK (like a zip file)
Found the APK meant for the watch (android_wear_micro_apk.apk) in the extractedapk > res > raw folder
Enabled ADB on the watch (Settings > About > tap Build Number I think 7 times which enabled Developer Options)
Swipe back to previous page, Open Developer Options
Tap ADB debugging to enable
Tap Check icon to enable it
You can now type adb shell on your computer which will give you a card on your watch to allow it
Once you have a prompt you can type exit and hit enter to get back to your computers prompt
From there you just type:
adb install /location/of/android_wear_micro_apk.apk
Once it is installed it will say so on the watch and will be available in the watch face selection carousel

This will work for other Smart Watches that support a USB connection. This will not work for the Moto 360 over Blue Tooth. It may work for the Moto 360 if you made a custom USB Cable but I have not seen any posts that has been the case.
Just leave the moto360 paired with your android phone - thus having all custom watchfaces, and install aerlink and lightblue BLE, and you can have the connection to iphone, and what is more cool, you can keep the connection to your android phone (Yes, both can be connected at the same time!). watch the video on howto:

So I've been running my Moto 360 with an Iphone 6 plus for about a week now with no issues of disconnect. Iphone 6 plus is at IOS 9.1 and my moto 360 is at the newest firmware. My moto 360 is a first gen I just bought it about a month ago. To use with an iphone the first thing you need to do is install android wear on an android device and sync the moto 360 with that device. Update the firmware on the moto 360 to the newest version. After everything is good to go on the watch, go into the play store on the android device and download aerlink. Make sure aerlink installs on the watch. Grab a few sweet watch faces from the playstore. Turn bluetooth off on the android device/ tablet or phone you synced your watch with NOT Bluetooth on the watch.
Now on the iphone download aerlink from the app store. Yes its a few bucks but its worth it. It works really good. Launch aerlink on the iphone. On the watch launch aerlink and enable the ios service. The watch connects to the iphone, type in the code from the flag on the watch. After you type in the code the watch will disconnect. Click the flag on the watch it will reconnect and tell you everything is good.
To add watch faces just enable bluetooth on the android tablet and launch android wear after it connects you can download watch faces from the apps store. To reconnect the watch follow the steps above.
Also aerlink has a background service on the iphone. I leave the app aerlink on the iphone running int he background. Meaning if you double tap the home screen dont swipe the app up to close it out.
If the watch restarts or iphone restarts you'll have to go threw the process of turning the IOS service back on and connecting with the iphone. Its easier to just delete the bluetooth connection on the watch and reconnect. Other than that the connection is real stable between the two.
I was having some battery issues using the Auto brightness. I set the brightness level on the watch to 2 all the time and am getting better battery life.
What? "Aerlink works really good"? Have you ever used a nice app? You are probably the developer of that app.. It is the most ****ty app i have ever seen.. Here you can see the current problems:
I think i will just uninstall this app and live with the default watch faces.
Sorry to harp on about this subject, but what is currently the best app to use to pair my 360 with my iPhone running iOS9, when it has already been paired with an android phone. The reason for this is so I can use Custom Watch faces. I will pair it with my other android phone to get the watch faces, but will leave that at home in a box under my bed. I then would like to pair the watch with my iPhone to get notifications, as that's all I really want. There have been a few apps branded around to do this, but wonder if anyone knows what works best?

I am also looking for an answer for this. Ill have my moto 360 on thursday and i know that the app store has Android Wear and pairs up with no issues but was wondering the easiest way to add watch faces without an android phone.
Is there an updated thread pertaining to using custom watch faces with a Moto 360 and iphone user?
Moto 360 and Android
I have the 6s and a first get 360, what a nightmare....these were never meant to work side by side. I am springing for a Apple watch and just use the 360 as a regular watch as it is useless. Always disconnects and then you have to go through a long process of re-establising a connection. Maybe someday
So I just pickup a Moto 360 2nd Gen smartwatch 2 days ago. I am currently using an Iphone 5. I was able to get the watch and phone connected through bluetooth perfectly fine as Motorola promise it does work with Apple Phones. However I spent the next day or so trying to look for wifi connectivity on the watch as well as the phone. it is no where to be found. The wifi setting on the Moto 360 is just not there. I try searching online for answers and all comes back to say the watch have a wifi feature which can be set at the setting area within the Moto 360. But regardless of what I did. turning off and on the watch number of times. Factory reset the watch number of times. updated to the latest Android wear OS 5.1.1. it still does not show up. I called Motorola tech support. the rep had a watch on his hand and said there should be a wifi setting in the Moto 360. However I'm certain he is not pair to an iphone. so he ask me to go and return the phone and said there could be a software issue with the watch I have.
I realize with Android wear connecting to an iphone, I will never get the full functionality as connecting to an Android phone. And I'm sure the wifi is one of the feature that will not work, simply because within Android wear app itself, in order for the wifi feature to work with the phone, inside Android wear, you have to turn on CLOUD sync. and Android ware for Iphone does not have the CLOUD sync feature in it. so I figure even if the wifi feature on the Moto 360 2nd gen is there, it won't do any good because of lack of CLOUD sync.
Just to answer some of you ask why I would buy a Android Wear watch instead of an Apple watch since I'm using a Iphone. well, the iphone is just my temporary phone. I have a Sony Xperia Z3 Compact, it was sent in for repair. until it come back. i'm using an old Iphone for my Spare.
Hope this help some people when they run into this issue. If you found something I don't know. please let me know. I like to know. thanks
WiFi and Bluetooth settings are disabled/hidden on all Android Wear devices when they connect to and iOS device.
