Hey Guys! It's me again with another creation.... well sort of! This is Hydra Remix! Why Remix you ask??? Well for over a year I have been constantly tinkering with my CM Theme "Blue Hydra" which is probably one of the craziest themes out there. I was thinking that I should port it over to our LG UI but after consideration I thought perhaps I'd tone it down drastically and try to make it clean and somewhat minimal. Anyone who knows me or follows me on Google plus should know that this is the complete opposite of anything I've done. I'm usually an in your face type of designer with eye pleasing animations and other fun stuff. So this was a challenge in a sense! Anyway so basically what this is, is an overlay theme. Meaning it utilizes the Runtime Resource Overlay system which LG devices support out of box ....ish
So to those not familiar with Overlay themes (aka RRO aka layers) you will need root to use this for now. For those who may not know, Sony implemented this into AOSP a while back but it's actually turned off by default. So what we are going to do is use an app to apply the theme developed by good old Syko called Layers Manager and you will need to install it! This is how we apply the theme. Please read the app description if you are not familiar with it. Please note I am not your tech support for this app either. There is a wonderful and helpful google plus community for that. Once you install the theme (which installs like an apk!) it will show up in the Layers Manager app. The rest is self explanatory.
For now you only have a few overlays included in the theme. I may add a few more and release here, but if I do, it will not be any third party applications. I will however ensure this is bug free. So if you find something that has readability issues ie: white text on white background (wow) or black text on black background (bob) let me know and I will correct it as soon as possible.
There will be a "Prime" version on Play store which will also include the light version, and also a dark version which will be included in the same apk so you can mix and match overlays or choose from light or dark mode. Google apps like play store, hangouts, google plus, etc will be done for sure so look for it shortly on play.
Ok so one last thing. Sadly LG has done something unique with their framework-res and LGE-Res.apk. These two apks are not supported by the Overlays. This is due to issues with the idmap files and possibly the resources arsc and possibly the apktool.yml file within each apk. (I could be wrong on the reasons). So as much as I wanted to avoid this next part I had to make those into a flashable zip which you will need to flash to truly enjoy the theme. I suppose it's not 100% mandatory but if you don't some elements will not look proper.
This next part is important. My flashable framework-res.apk and lge-res.apk are from my stock rom. They are not deodexed and have zero mods done to them so it should be safe to flash if you're on another rom but that's up to you. I haven't tried any rom out here and I probably never will. But from reading the changelogs it doesn't appear as though any of them have really done anything to their framework-res or lge-res that would cause you issues. Feel free to ask them but I'm sure it's fine to flash this. (Make a backup to be safe!). To uninstall the theme simply use the Layers Manager app to uninstall. If you flashed the Frameworks package you will need to reflash your rom to completely revert all changes made.
So again to be clear, flash the zip, install layers manager and then install the theme apk and apply from the Layers Manager app!
Also please do not complain about conflicts if you are using xposed. I do not support it nor will I offer solutions to people who use it.

Did you flash the framework zip as well? I figured the overlays would work on the G3 and G4 but I'm not so sure about the zip?
Damn it your going to make me have to buy another theme. //Sarcasm
Looks great:silly:
Oh baby, I love flashing.. I am more of a dark kinda guy also.. will have to keep checking this out.

Me too! But I wanted to do a light theme so I could get the hang of the LG UI. Now that I am familiar with how they do things a dark theme should be fairly straight forward

Well that's not a huge surprise given its a different device. If you want you can send me your framework-res and lge-res and I'll make a g3 flashable.
And if anyone has or knows someone with a g4 and can get them to send me those files too I'll do the same for them. The theme is much better with the fw zip.
Great job on the theme. something different that looks great. I noticed that the notification hangs down a bit more when I have sound control disabled, as if it never was disabled. It leaves a bigger block than intended. If its possible to fix it and if you need my help with what ever i can than i would gladly comply.

It's been designed this way intentionally. I like it as such and is not a bug. Not sure what you're offering to help with though? I have not run into anything troublesome.
Theme is live on Play store as well people. That's where you can get your updates! Probably gonna update it with a couple more apps either tonight or tomorrow!

I can send you my wife's G4 framework, etc when I get home this weekend.
In all of my experiences in using layers themes on lg g4 and v10, it removes the calendar page from smart bulletin. It does here as well. Also this seems to cause conflicts with G4 twbx, at least it did for me.. Thanks though, I appreciate the contribution.

so far looks good, currently no found issues but i just installed it.
edit: ok, the bloatware needs to go!!! (news program and the tips widget). calendar widget, GV look like stock, im not sure if there was intention on your part to keep it that way or if it should be themed somehow because facebook looks themed somehow but cannot be read since the text color is too dark with the background, (cant speak for twitter as i dont use it or even have twitter on my phone)
gmail, market, fm radio, email, icons could use the blue color to match.
not sure how to install the zips for battery and lockscreen posted above....
overall it has great potential, i love the sharp looking icons in ADW launcher when long pressing an app on home screen and the options box pops up!
On landscape, the unlock buttons for the scrolling lock are not all themed.

First off this is a very informative comment, Thank you. As far as the "bloatware" those are Gapps and can be uninstalled. I do not plan much for Gapps as there are themers that specialize in this and it would be double work.

I had not heard this issue before as the other devices running this theme do not have a keyboard and so the lockscreen is in portrait only. I will fix this for sure.
No prob, I removed the apps asap anyways. I didn't know they were stuck there. Glad I could help, so far I like it. I haven't wanted to remove it asap or anything.
Maybe a little bit of background on the top of the pull down so the wallpaper does not show thru its hard to read and see the icons as its too transparent.

Updated with #54
After much consideration I have decided not to make flashable themes anymore. The apk for the T-mobile theme engine will be used from now on. It has been a concern by some people how this will affect the lock screen theme as well as other things. I will include a metamorph theme to apply to fix this too.
The advantage to using this method is that I can include things like inclusive skins for paid apps such as Fancy Widgets, Launcher Pro Plus.
The other advantage is that from now on if you update CM7 you do not have to wait for me to update the theme since you already have it, the only extra effort on your part is to re-apply the MM theme.
I hope this will be good foe everyone. At this time I have a few issues I am trying to work out. The main one being the dialer. The theme engine doesn't like to resize the images so it looks bad. My proposition is to add a poll for now to get your ideas. Please vote HERE so I can know what you would like best. For now try the apk and let me know what you think.
Looks nice. Will try it soon!

Yeah the problem with that is the edit I made to get the black text was in the services.jar in the flashable version. I cannot add that to the apk. How would you feel about an inverted Carbon lock screen? If not I will remove that image and leave it stock.

Here is how to gain a new battery using UOT kitchen:
Get your "framework-res.apk", there are many methods to do this, i'll let you pick one.
Go HERE and click the "file upload" tab, select "system files" and upload your framework-res.apk. To avoid problems please us a CLEAN framework-res.apk
Now click the "battery" tab, check "use this mod", click "Custom battery", any of these styles will modify your framework to give you 100 charging and 100 discharging images.
Scroll down to the bottom and select a charging animation style, I would reccomend hybrid.
Click the "summary" tab and "submit work to kitchen"
Wait for the kitchen to cook your files then flash your new framework from CWM
Once flashed you can then flash the Universal theme on top.

Cheers m8, I'm definitely up for a joint effort
Metamorph just changes the images you want instead of the whole apk, helps keep the file size down and can be applied across multiple platforms also.

Very nice theme!!!A battery %??

Will this work for litening rom v1.5?
It should work on all ginger bread roms as its only images being changed so it shouldn't cause any conflicts, backup though just in case and please report back if it works.
I haven't changed the battery as I've noticed different roms are using different steps so some original images would show.
I'll have a look inside some roms and make a separate battery morph.
Hope this helps.
Thanks!! Works Perfectly for litening rom

Please visit both to see all the great people involved in helping us make this great rom.
Many of you know I started sourcery back in 2010 and gflam joined me shortly after and has been part of team sourcery since than through version 2.0.
Gflam and init2winitapps, were gracious enough to give us their source for sourcery tools which helped the rebuild process, Devortex took over that project and has rebuilt much of it, and made some changes that help us greatly.
I want to thank Gflam for the years we worked together, and wish him and init2winitapps the best.
But did want people to know that they are no longer involved in ICSourcery.
They also allowed us to stay on their server through V3.0 which was great and gave us time to do things right rather than rush to change everything.
Version 3 is totally now on our new and faster server.
So 1 of the things that DevorteX has done is tools will now work with any theme built by anyone, I no longer have to build framework and system ui to enable our tools to continue to work. (do need to keep my signiture on apk)
So themers please help us and the other users out theme it and get it to us to put up in the first theme engine for ICS that continues on in Version 3.
ICSourcery is the most themable rom available.

1) Led--installing light flow even 1 time will cause our new LED features to break. And lightFlow wont work either.
Please do not install light flow on this rom.
2) Random Bug- when on a Tmobile theme engine theme installing a pull down may cause crashing of systemui.
This is not consistant so hard to track still working on it.
If this happens power button will cause phone to reboot.

I checked and our id is exact as 4.0.4 ota from verizon so not sure why this is.
FIX- goto mods and install verizon login fix.--all good after.
4) Navbar widgets--While adding some widgets it will force close first time re-add widget again and will install the widget.

We are far from done.......But with 2 months of hard work we believe we have something special to offer.
This is not built with Linaro. as usual jsut as we are ready to release something new comes along. We will look at the results and determine if this is a benefit.. If it is it will be done.

THe tmobile theme engine is installed in the rom... go into System settings > ICSourcery Tools > slide 4 3 pages to the right... select theme engine and it will show any themes you already have loaded... if you dont have any then go to the Theme engine Themes option and download any of them... I have not seen any issue with it thus far...

Wow....dropped to halfway down page two in a matter of hours. This device needs a separate forum for themes. There's just way too many "app" threads. I've never understood why we need app threads for a specific device anyway.
At any rate, this is my one and only bump. I'm not desperate for attention, just figured it dropped out of sight so quick, hardly anyone even got to see it
Looks good, thanks!
Any chance for a CM10 variant?
Is Jr5 and EOS close enough to stock for this to work?
n00b here, lol.
A.) this won't cause any issues with an un-themed launcher will it?
B.) you have to be rooted for this, right?
Sorry, i'm a PC themer, so i'm kind of new to the smartphone/tablet themeing thing.

A. Nope. Only way you should have the possibility of issues is if you've flashed something else over stock (different rom, mods, possibly a theme). A launcher, or any other app should never affect the theme or vice versa.
You'll notice I used the word "should" a lot there. That's because I make no guarantees. You should ALWAYS make a backup before flashing anything. Flukes happen and you don't want to be the guy having to scramble to find a way to fix their unresponsive phone.
B. Yup, have to be rooted and have CWM or some other custom recovery to flash anything. Rooting really isn't a big deal and can be easily reversed if you need to.

I'll say keeping even one custom rom up to date can be a pain, depending on how often the maintainer updates it. It's very likely I'll be switching from stock pretty soon, I just haven't seen much from the custom roms yet to give me a good reason (my tablet is already "buttery smooth" ). CM10 will be my most likely choice, but from looking from the commits, it's more AOSP and less CM right now.
As for i working on the other roms, this is an Odexed theme for not. I believe Jr5 allows you to reOdex using an app, so possibly for that one, but if the other one isn't Odexed it definitively won't work.

Thanks, and I appreciate you making a theme compilation thread. Seems like we're definitively going to need it for this device.
Transparent & blue.....
Definitely going to flash this! Thanks OP.
Wow, very nice! I noticed when downloading apps, instead of an arrow or something in the upper left corner, it bounces between some weird icon and the voice mail notification icon. Just an FYI, but the theme rocks! Very subtle and clean....great job!

I'd definitely like to fix this, but I'm not sure what you're describing and I don't see it myself. It sounds like this may be the voicemail notification, and since I use youmail I haven't seen it myself. I'll take a look at this possibility, but in the meantime if you could give me a screenshot or something, I'd appreciate it.
So I cant flash this over SGT7?

I'll probably make a deodexed version soon. SGT7 would probably be able to use that until he decides to make the UI selectable in Settings.apk. Then I'd have to make a special version for that rom.
The way I see it we have 3 basic rom types right now. CM10 based, stock odexed, and stock deodexed based. I may try to accommodate all three, but don't be disappointed if I can't support any further branching. Right now I have a few more things I'm looking to tweak before I start to support more roms.

Isn't SGT7 CM10 based?
Interesting... I went to download a ROM just to be able to take these screen shots. You can see the two icons that flash back and forth as the download progresses. I've included the full versions below just in case the 30Kb versions don't show well. Hope this helps! Either way, it's not a big deal at all!! Just thought I'd let you know =) Great job!

Thank you, I can reproduce it now, but can't explain it Seems like JB has changed something that doesn't make sense. Gives me a chance to isolate some image calls that have annoyed me anyway. This may take some time....
Nice.. Could we get the bottom nav bar icons blue too?

[ICON PACK]
After hours of work, Complete One UI icon pack have just updated to version 2.0. New version brings the interface closer to One UI look and also add more than 100 hundred app icons. Enjoy!
Changelog:
New Complete One UI app logo
Redesign interface follow One UI style
Add more app icons
[SUBSTRATUM]
[UPDATE ver 2.1]
Changelog:
Separate Mods and App Icons to two different apk
WARNING: Uninstall all the icons before install this update
I have just updated the Substratum too - add more app icon. With substratum, there are some bonus overlay, try if you like it, but not guarantee it will work on all devices. If it does not work and crash, go to overlay manager and uninstall the overlay.
Substratum cannot change all Samsung system apps (phone, messages, calendar, video, music …) because they are overwritten by Samsung Theme Store, so best way to change these system app is using [THEME STORE] version.
Note: on Pie devices, some app may crash if apply app icon overlay, it may be a bug. I contact Substratum for more information.
For now, we can workaround by install the overlay, then uninstall it, the cache of the icon still there so you can see the icon change in launcher but not system wide.
List some apps may crash on Pie:
airpay
cgv
facer
grab
spotify
discord
pinterest
smartview
soundcloud
twitch
twitter
xda feed
utorrent
[THEME STORE]
Theme store version is only support Oreo or below. Compare to [ICON PACK] and [SUBSTRATUM] version, [THEME STORE] version is the most effective and fast way to apply Complete One UI icon pack.
For Pie, the trail time limited is different with Oreo so new to find a new way to trick it.
[TIPS]
If the icons don't change after install substratum overlays, try to switch screen resolution in display setting to HD+ then re-install the Substratum overlays then switch back to your desired screen resolution.

Try this. If the icons don't change, switch the dimension in display to HD and switch back your dimension.
is it possible to release that also as a normal icon pack in play store, without the need of samsung themes or substratum?

I may need help for that. I'm not good at build icon pack app for Play Store
Sorry, i can't help with that. I'm not a developer. I have given up as i have seen that i must pay a fee to release a free app on the play store.
However I have found a way for me,to use your icons. I extracted the *.png files and use them as icons with Action Launcher. It seems to work at least for me.
Further development
Hi, really great work with these icons. I was just wondering if you were working on expanding this project into a fully fledged icon pack?

Thanks! I wish that I can turn this to an icon pack. I just good at design in it but not developing. For now just using Substratum to apply the icon, previously I use Samsung Theme, but in Pie the trail not stick so I'm finding solution for that
Hi, thanks for the quick response! I just wanted to let you know that developing an icon pack is not that difficult if you already have the design skills, which you certainly have, as there are plenty of online tutorials that are easy to follow, and an icon pack like this would generate some attention if it was on the play store. Furthermore, you would be able to use the theme.galaxy app to apply the icon pack directly as a samsung theme, removing the substratum issues on samsung. Anyway, if you could find the time to develop this project further, you could also gain some money doing so. I know I would pay for this

) Thanks for suggestion. I will do it if I have time. As I say Samsung Theme on Pie having the issue is theme outside the store will be revert after 10mins trail. Even theme.galaxy cannot make it. Oreo is working fine but not Pie. I am on the way to publish Galaxy Theme for this icon pack for Oreo
Looking forward to it! Also make sure to properly set the icon masking on the theme store release if you can so that unthemed apps remain without a white background.
I'm back!
As promise I have just made a very first build of Complete One UI - Icon pack so you can apply it to third-party launcher. Feel free to report bugs
