Is anyone else having slow WiFi after the update? I did a speed test with my wife's S4 and had over 20 Mbits. But when I do the speed test on my S6 with M I barely get 1 Mbits. Is there a quick fix or is this an issue that we have to wait for an update.
WiFi still works perfectly fine for me. Have you tried resetting your connection to the WiFi?
Yes. Reset the settings on the phone and rebooted the router. Still acting slower than the phone running lollipop.
My wifi became very slow after MM - no resolution yet
I'm also having this issue. My router also has a 5g band however that works fine. But the normal wifi is very slow.

Well I removed my network from my phone and reset the router. Set back up my WiFi and now it seems to be better now. Will keep checking.
I had a network extender (slower than my wifi connection point), after MM installation, MM always connected to the slower extender. I deleted the extender definition, reset my connection point setting. Wifi performance improved close to what it was before MM.
This happened when I updated my wife's phone, I did a factory reset and started like new and fixed the issue... I didn't have this issue when I updated mine tho.
I still having issues with slow WiFi. Almost as slow as dial up sometimes.
Trying turning on bluetooth, it improves wifi speeds for some reason.

I finally gave in to doing a factory reset, that appears to have solved the slow wifi problem.

After performing I found out that the Retailmenot app was having an adverse on my wifi performance. I turned of the notifications for it and the problem went away. My son received the Marshmellow update and had bad wifi performance. Also his mobile hotspot wouldn't work. He uninstalled Retailmenot, wifi problem went away and hotspot began working.

Today I found out that if I have the Bluetooth on my WiFi crawls very slowly. If I turn off my Bluetooth my WiFi is full speed. So now I know it is the Bluetooth affecting WiFi. Any suggestion on how to fix this. I have a GearS watch and need to keep my Bluetooth on all the time.

I was having issues with my WIFI also. It wouldn't connect on 2.4 GHz but would on 5 GHz. The performance wasn't great and I would get the connection isn't stable message a lot. I tried a bunch of things on my router and finally just did a factory reset on the router. I can now connect of both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. My connection speed has also improved dramatically. I didn't think it was a router issue since the Note 3 WIFI issues are pretty well known to be a problem. In my case, doing a factory reset on the router helped my problem a lot. For reference it is an ASUS RT-AC66R
I used the app WIFI Analyzer from the play store to monitor the signal strengths. Since doing the factory reset on the router, I only see the connection is unstable message very rarely.

I had same issues I thought phone was junk but it was my router. So I upgraded and set my Wi-Fi channel manually and not I am without Wi-Fi issues

You can turn off the option in the wifi settings that lets the phone auto disconnect from wifi if it thinks the wifi signal is weak or unstable. I sit 10 feet from my wifi router and it used to go back to the cell signal randomly. I disabled the auto switch option and no issue since. My wifi at home is very strong so I think its a bugged setting or something.
"Your network connection is unstable, so we in our smart thoughts have decided to disable it. Kiss my Gritts ". Ho Hummmmm
click dont show this option again

If you are sure your WiFi is good, then go to WiFi settings,
1) Switch OFF Auto network switch
2) Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep: Always

Man, wish I had known about this... My Nexus 5 and 7 (and office iPhone 5S) all have excellent Wifi connection at my home.
I bought Note 3 to use the Wi-Fi calling feature and this caused me to missed multiple phone calls. Apparently, when the Note 3 is on Wi-Fi calling, it sorts of "disable" or reduce the cellular radio signal - zero bar shown on my Note 3 - all calls and SMS go through Wi-Fi. When the Wi-fi drop, it takes sometimes for the Note to establish cellular connection and that's when I missed the call.
Not to mention I am browsing happily or streaming Netflix and BAM.. wi-fi dropped and everything stopped.
If the Kit Kat upgrade fixes this issue AND not bring anymore problem (as evident from numerous threads), I would have upgraded to Kit Kat already.
Dammit, over the course of browsing for an hour, the wi-fi disconnect over 5 times.
What the hell!?
Is anyone else having this problem? My phone keeps dropping the WiFi signal even if I'm next to the WiFi router. The WiFi indicater shows good signal with all bars lit at all times and I don't get any notifications of signal being low but it still doesn't load/connect to anything. It's very sporadic, but regular.. once singal is lost it won't load anything for a minute or 2 even if the WiFi on the phone is turned off and on. I've tried resetting the router but the problem still persists. All other devices connected to the same WiFi don't have any problems. I'm using the virgin super hub by netgear.

Same over here. I have 3 other devices on the same router and none have a problem. Restarting the router does not solve the problem.

I have a similar issue at my partner's house. When I first got the phone I had no issues connecting to the 5 Ghz wi-fi connection, but lately I have issues with the 5Ghz, but connecting to his 2.4 Ghz connection works well. His device and other household devices work well on the 5 Ghz connection. It is annoying, but since the 2.4 Ghz seems quick, I am not going to worry too much about it right now. Hope there is a solution though.
I remember my z1 having similar problems...it was fixed by changing the security mode I think...wep..wpk...or something...just fool around with it...no harm in trying
I have a NetGear accesspoint that the G3 refuses to connect to regardless of the G or A bands. So frustrating.
Stard having this issue this weekend, thought it was the router location and I repositioned and still no help.
Hoping and update fixes it
I too have experienced issues with WiFi during my last 4 days of ownership. Perfect WiFi signal (I was sitting within feet of the router) yet no Internet connection. Cycling WiFi off and on fixed the issue. This occurred on two different networks using different hardware. Both were using WPA2-PSK authentication. No other devices on the network experienced any issues.

That option was already enabled on my device. I never enabled it, so it must have been on by default.
Also, when this happened, my G3 still had a valid IP address
Have same problem since day 1. Cycling between 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz and vice versa seems to fix for the short term.
But seems to happen on a daily basis.....!
I have the issue has well. In fact, mine will sit at obtaining IP address.
i have same isuee
i have same isuue here with my lg g3 16 gigs model
wifi sigal drops all the time i did factory seetings and did not help
plzzzz help as am start to hate my device
add static ip address to resolve the issue
I added static ip address and it was able to connect to the wifi but it will
be the same problem when you connect to another wifi at a different location.
Do not change network prefix length/DNS1/DNS2. Keep these the same.
You could use this as temporary fix at home atleast and connect to wifi.
Disconnect completely from your WiFi, switch off WiFi on the phone, turn back on and go to advanced settings, uncheck the Google auto scan thing, then connect back to your WiFi.

Still have same problem
It worked on mine. Much more stable.
I am also experiencing this and it is really annoying. Toggling WiFi off and back on always fixes it, but that is not an actual solution because the problem happens so frequently.
I have tried:
Disabling Sprint connection optimizer
'Keep WiFi on when screen is off' is enabled
'Allow WiFi scanning' is disabled
'WiFi signal weak' is disabled (set so that it does not disconnect from WiFi when signal is weak)
'Battery saving for WiFi' is disabled
Using a static IP address
Factory Reset
Forget network
I still have had no luck. Does anybody else have any suggestions? I have about a dozen devices on my network and they play nicely; this is the only device giving me trouble. I am starting to wonder if it is time to RMA?
EDIT: It doesn't seem to happen when I connect to the WiFi at my work. Hopefully flashing a newer build of DD-WRT will remedy this. I love this phone except for that one issue; unfortunately though, this issue would be pretty hard to live with....
Same thing here. Before G3 I had G2 and Flex, both had the same wifi problem. Funny thing is that some $150 Chinese almost noname generic phones never have this problem on my home wifi. It's exclusive to LG.
Same Problem here. I am having a Nexus 5 sitting next to it. No problem with the N5 but constantly interruptions with the G3. This phone is starting to annoy the hell out of me.
I have the VZW G3 rooted, have no issues with WiFi on either antenna using an Asus dual band router.
I did have issues with a dlink, but it had issues with all phones not just the g3 so I replaced it.
I just took the 6.0.1 update for the Sprint S6, and I am having some interesting wifi issues. I can't get any sort of Internet connection at home, even though it is connected to the network. However, I went to Starbucks and I was able to get a connection there. Then I come to work, and I get no connection here. I had read that the Verizon S6 had similar issues with the update, and it had to do with MM having issues with tkip encryption. Can anyone confirm that this could be the problem with the Sprint update?

I was experiencing extremely bad/slow wifi connectivity after installing MM. I deleted my my wifi extension configuaration (MM kept connecting to my wifi extender difinition - slower speed). That improved wifi performance close to pre-MM. Also turned of smart network switch (settings - more - smart network switch) witch seemed to improve the reliability of my wifi connection.

I am having this same problem too. I am also having issues with text messages not sending.
My network connection, both at home and traveling, has been flawless. My suggestion to you would be to switch your home router at AES, see if that resolves the issue and then switch back and see what happens.
There is at least one ticket open on Google's Android site regarding the TKIP issue. Open since May, I might add.
Hi, I have the nexus 5x since Oct 2016.
With wifi, BT or poor coverage, y consumption is high. Minimum of 1,5%/hour. With mobile data 0,2%/hour. Perhaps with poor coverage is normal, but I don't understand why it happens with Wifi (At home (2.4Ghz and 5 Ghz) and at work (5Ghz)). I have tested multiples cases.
I have had 7.0 (stock), 7.1(stock), 7.1.2 (Dev), without root and with root + (Franco kernel or ElementalX kernel) + naptime. I have desactivate Wifi scaning on location. I never see the flat line in battery graph with Wifi.
I use the app "gsam battery" to see the battery graph. The kernel and Android system are the first app suckers, I think it's normal. I don't see anthing unusual in battery graph. The mobile go to sleep mode correctly.
What would be the problem? What new tests I can do?
Thanks
Question: Are you using Project Fi, or any other carrier that allows for WiFi calling/texting?
To clarify: I don't think Project Fi is the culprit, but I may have a solution that I've been testing.
A common complaint that goes back to my N5 running Kit Kat. The fix was to force the device to only use 2.4Ghz Wifi, however since 7.0 Google has removed that option.
Changing router's or updating the router firmware has helped some in the past but not for me.
Does your device Doze properly on a mobile data connection also? And does wifi occasionally idle properly, say when switching back and forth between wifi and cell data? That's the case for me currently, and you know something's wrong when a 3G connection idles better than Wifi.
I'm not using Project Fi, or any other carrier that allows for WiFi calling. My carrier is vodafone, a normal carrier.
I have tested a router with 2.4Ghz only, but the problem persists.
Doze works correctly with mobile data connection and Wifi. I can see the mobile go to sleep mode correctly in both cases.
But in idle mode, wifi use a 1.5%/hour and mobile data 0.2%/hour, but I don't see nothings strange in the graphs or stadistics.
What I can I try?

Ya sounds exactly like the issue I was describing. The fix used to be to force the device to only pick up 2.4Ghz connections but Google took the option away ever since 7.0. Being on a network they only transmits 2.4Ghz doesn't help as the device is still listening to and picking up 5Ghz signals.
There is no known fix that I'm aware of. I don't think Google considers it their problem, they would likely say it's a router compatibility issue and tell us to upgrade our router firmware.
I just got this phone yesterday and so far I just cannot get it to stay connected to my network. No other devices are having this problem. It basically just seems to constantly connect and disconnect from the wifi and also seems to constantly search for other connections as well. I've tried factory reset, cache clearing(which never works as it just red triangle error's me), reset the router, tried to change settings in phone itself but nothing seems to fix it and it's making it impossible to use at home. Anyone have any suggestions?
Same thing here. I went in and turned off all the wifi in battery power saving exclusions. Ain't been home long enough to try though.
I'm having this same issue! My prior daily (S9+) didn't have this issue, and my Pixel 2XL doesn't have this issue. I could be right next to the router and it still does this. Doesn't seem to matter if I'm at home, work, parents house, or a cafe, it still randomly loses connection. Same with my Gear S3. Just randomly loses connection. It's pretty annoying, and I hope they offer a software fix. Yes, I factory reset the phone and it still occurs.
I noticed this only with the 5 GHz band... I will contact LG about it today...
Yeah, I'm having the same issue. My router broadcasts both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz on the same SSID. Last I'd heard, Android wouldn't connect to 5 GHz in that circumstance, and my G7 appears to continue that trend.
But it still disconnects from the network all the time.
Sadly I have the same issue. I have different SSID for 2.4 and 5Ghz band, and as devil_tear says it's fails only with the 5ghz band. I did a factory reset but issue stills there.
Did you found a fix for this issue?
Had the same problem. Solved by enabling wifi on the battery saving power exclusions in the battery menu.

So far, adding wifi to the power saving exclusion has seemed to fix the issue. Thank you!

Great suggestion
Tried the suggestion here for adding WiFi to exclusion. WiFi on 5ghz still disconnects and reconnects every few seconds. Only way to keep it connected is putting it on 2.4ghz.
Tried the suggestion with reboots, factory reset, adding WiFi to exclusion and then connecting to the network. My g7 will just not work with it.

Have seen this also, in my case it happens when I am a bit far from the router, it may be the router not having a strong stable connection so the phone see it doesn't have internet. In the points I experience that I have a 5Ghz connection of 0-2Mb but I have maybe 2 bars of connection. Share your opinions to try to understand the problems.

For me I would say it happens more if I have 2-3 bars but nonetheless it happens even 3ft away from the router eventually. what's odd is my note 5 stays connected, my computer, and other phone stay connected on the 5ghz band. All these devices are in the same location so I'm pretty dumbfounded especially considering this is a newer phone than the note 5 lol. I hope it can be fixed with an ota update

I have the same issues. I sent back the first phone for a replacement thinking it was the issue. When the second phone arrived it was working perfectly and then it happened again.
I noticed this happened after I took whatever software update was offered. I went as far to switch providers with different equipment (fibe to cable) but same result.
Made specific 2.4ghz SSID for LG G7 and no issues.
I've never seen this happen. And my laptop and LG are using the same 5 ghz signal.
I think I remember the G6 doing this though

Just came back from my dad's house and I know it's a short test, however he has an Archer a7 connected after his dedicated provided box. I wonder if that can fix the issue?
I have the same issue.
it connects to 2.4Ghz networks fine but the range is very limited when I move to another room wifi reception decreases a lot. However my wife`s S9+ and my oneplus 6 works fine.
Main problem is when I connect to 5Ghz network it starts disconnecting and reception is even worse than 2.4Ghz. S9 and Oneplus connection is still fine at 5Ghz
I tried to change the 5ghz channels on the router but no luck and I exclude the WIFI from battery saving apps still didn`t work.
I have to use 2.4Ghz and the reception is not as good as other phones
Wifi seems stable for me, except wifi calling. That would crash at connection or even mid-call sometimes. I'd have to reboot to make or receive another call. Some sort of server error. Turned off wifi calling and no issues yet. Didn't notice Ed it anyway since 4g is really strong here.
After the newest update on my phone, taken today Oct 4th, 2018/my random WiFi disconnects haven't been happening at all on 5ghz. Also, the signal is about 3 bars larger now in the same location it used to be dropping out constantly. Hopefully it stays this way.

I was coming in to report something similar. I've got the US T-Mo version and just got the G710TM10K update yesterday.
WiFi stability has massively improved. Disconnects are almost completely nonexistent now. I haven't noticed that the signal bar is behaving any differently, but that doesn't mean a whole lot. The update was fairly large (over 400 MB), so I could see new firmware playing a role.
Could anyone still on G710TM10G post their data from Software Info to check if the baseband has been updated? Here's mine from 10K:
