The app doesn't work on marshmallow or apps like multi window toggle.apk doesn't work too. i could only restore it with root. If you have rooted Your device you can download csc features experts for samsung. Open the app and scroll down till you find "Config def quick serting item" add a comma and "MobileData"
Click save and reset setting from phone settings (not factory reset). I wish it works for you

So I want to use the wireless tethering in the stock ROM, but i'm not sure how to remove the subscription check. FoxFi doesn't seem to work, nor does Wifi Tether for Root Users. Is it like Moto phones in where you find the carrier information and modify it with an SQL editor? I'm kind of confused.

I installed Foxfi from the store ...opened it...left it as an open network...set the pin lock...accepted the credential. ..it asks to go to my settings to start up wifi hotspot...

Foxfi works perfectly fine on my retail note. My ps4, laptop and iPad all connect without an issue. I do have the paid key
For those of you that have the paid version, are you missing the menu button? I also downloaded the add on and somehow the extra options including the proxy settings are missing. Doesn't the proxy settings allow you to conceal the data usage from Verizon?

Foxfi works great also use app called Dislock. That apps make it so I can still just swipe screen to open phone. No pattern or pin. Retail note 4

not sure i am on stock ANI1. should though its just simple changes
I tested the demo version first to make sure it worked, then bought the app. Never had any problems.. The enhanced LTE in the Detroit area is FAST!

Long press the recents button for the menu. Same goes for any app missing the menu button.

I just bought Galaxy A5 (2017) and I can't find the mobile toggle button in the notifications area. Other phones have a menu or mode in which one can add or take away toggle buttons. I can enable and disable the mobile data by crawling through settings menus, but that's inconvenient. The Android version is Nougat.
Does anybody know how to get the mobile data button in the notifications area?

Pull down your notification bar once again when it's pulled, and you should have it, if you want it at first pull, hold your finger on any toggle buttons and drag it where you want

Are you sure you're on Nougat? I don't think Nougat's been out for A5 2017. What region do you/ does your firmware come from?

1. Press one of the toggles longer, then you'll get into another setting for your notification toggle, where you can choose what to put there, including Mobile Data. Bear in mind that you can't switch network through that toggle, only to turn it on and off. To switch networks (2G/3G/4G) you still have to go to Setting >> Connections
2. It's even written there: 'Tap and hold a quick setting button to bla bla...'
3. Android 6 is called Marshmallow. Nougat is 7. We would have heard if Nougat has come to A5 2017!
Hmmmm, I don't see the Mobile button there. I suspect that the carrier asked Samsung to remove it, so that we'd use more data by accident.
My videotron a5 has the same issue. These are the options I have.

Tabarnac! Stupid Canadian carriers!!!
I found a webpage with instructions that allowed me to set up a data toggle on my Canadian A5 2017. You don't need to root your phone. You will need to buy the Tasker app (~$5 at the Google play store).
I'm not allowed to post links because I don't have enough posts. If you google 'project_share_toggle_settings_eg_location' the first link listed should be to the reddit page.

Just remember every time you update your firmware or factory reset, it will disappear. I just finished doing it again from the August patch.

Does the UI still limit the amount of apps you can autostart? And you probably still have to log in to a vivo account to change launcher too?

i've logged-in to Vivo Account but for curiosity and not for other things. Still don't tried to change launcher because the stock here is pretty perfect and customizable .
I can receive notifications from all apps here and never had locked them in multitasking. Only need to grant all authorizations under settings

That's good to know about notifications, I just hate not having a app drawer lol
Thing that i don't like is that Google Pay it seems to not be supported.
I have an error when i try to finalize the registration. So no contactless options out there.
Maybe depends from Google License missed here ?

Ive never bought anything from Giztop before. Do you recommend? Also, do they open up the phones to inspect them? I know you said it was the Chinese version and it didnt come with playstore, so I assume it was preopened. I prefer that my phones arent opened by someone else.
