I also would like to know...
You mean 3.5" audio jack? Yes it was working with myremoconx app and a selfmade jack to IR adapter. But sadly after I updated to cm13 it s no more working, and I don't know why. I can see the led blinking when I try to press a button (using a camera...I can see infrared,I m not a superhuman),but my TV doesn't react as when I had cm12.1. It could be something caused by audio latency? Or something else? I tried many times but can't find an answer. I only know that it was working great,I even build my own ultra small jack to ir adapter ,big no more than 3 mm over the plug ( I used smd ir LEDs) . And one month ago I received from China a device that is made for iPhone and it s small like the one I build but with on and off function,so you can keep it connected every time, led light power is even stronger than my diy project. Now to bypass the problem I ordered from China a zazaremote microusb to ir ,but I don't t know if it could work on nexus 5 (almost sure it will work) ,and sadly it s bigger than the other options...
Are there anyone interested in investigation about the problem

Let me know something, I m interested, because it was very useful to me,and maybe to someone else. The USB device can even clone a remote from what I understand, but the last one I bought or the one made by myself are more portable, you can leave it attached to the headphones socket. As you can see in the picture if you rotate the device inside the socket,it turns off or on

I bought one of this, and I can see the ir leds working trough a camera (cm13 + my remoconx app) , like on the one I build. But for some strange reason before the update from cm12 to cm13 ,the two devices are no more switching channels

Myremoconx is the best I found
Zazaremote app and his micro USB device are working great... You can even clone a remote from the original, and create a mixed one. You can find it in aliexpress for cheap. This is the best devide I could find, forget about the audio to IR devices , you will not regret

i would but in the current political-economical situation of my country(Brazil) i can only buy from local sellers, and those only have the 3.5mm one(which was already hard to find).
zazaremote i found for about 10 bucks on aliexpress, however due to inflantion ,taxes, import taxes and conversion $-R$ i would literally pay more than 50 USD, in comparsion the p2 one i bought is 8 USD with 1 week shipping, currently awaiting it (there has been some holidays, i expect to get it next monday)
there is also the 3+ month waiting from aliexpress

I paid only 10$ for 2 pieces, one for me and one for my brother. We bought many jack to ir receivers and the best ones are the self made mine, and the iPhone one. Please let me know if you can make it work. With cm12 and nexus 5 was working great but after cm13 it doesn't work no more. The or one lack the clone features but it s more portable, and you can leave it inserted every time.

Now, besides the (...) option on the diy, how can you fit so many buttons for so many things on the screen? Or do you only create a power button?

I have it and I wouldn't carry the Nex with the remote attached as you could potentially damage the charging port. The remote itself doesn't fit properly with my spigen case on it, I'm sure the same applies to other cases. Love the diy remote learning feature though.

Hi guys,
I'm hoping to use my P3600 as an mp3 player, but what I'm wondering is which miniUSB to 3.5mm adapter is the best?

there ya go
just ordered from Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000RU8YMY
the one on ebay have the key chain hole , which is pretty cool .
Javoedge one is reliable ( well, the brand ) but the shape is kinda bulky. with a lil mod , I can make it stick to a key chain.
In the end, I think both of them are from China anyway. So I properly go for the one on ebay.
Luckily I didn't bought the USB adapter with the lead from the German Amazon recently,
the small USB adapter is exactly what I was looking for.
Thanks for the heads up.
Does the lead-less adapter work with the HTC Touch?
I ordered the one with lead with my HTC touch cruise. It's amazing how someone could come up with such a stupid design. The bend on the connector only has a slight purpose if you use a a belt-clip holster or something. I use the sleeve that came with the phone and have it in my pocket. I obviously got a bad connection just beside the usb plug, due to the ridiculous stress on the cord. The cord is even thinner than usual just to ensure that it goes straight to ****s upon first use. In addition it causes unnecessary strain on the usb-connector in the phone. I see that's also the case with the one without lead.
The reason for me to bump this thread, other than venting my frustration, is to ask if anyone have tried to solder on a mini-jack-plug to the headset that came with your phone? The earplugs are so ****ty than that even my grandmother would complain, and she's deaf. In other words I have no problem in experimenting with them. What I'm worried about is that someone told me that if the head set I'm going to use pulls more power than the old ear plugs, that may cause the usb-connector to malfunction. Or worse, the phone. Now that's something I'm not willing to experiment with, so I'm wondering if this is something that others have tried, or if someone can give me a 110% assurance that my phone won't suffer if I try?
headphones
Hello,
of course I can not give you a guarantee your phone won't suffer, but I don't see one reason why it should do: You can buy original HTC adapters for plugging in whatever earphones, so why shouldn't you be able to use the original cord for that purpose? I did this with my original wallaby headphones, only I didn't solder a 3.5mm jack but the "speakers" of other earphones. It worked well. At my Orbit I use the W100 remote together with Sennheiser MX 550 earphones, which sound great!
Matzix
PS: If you need some earphones to experiment, I can give my apple-earphones to you, which came with my 4G-ipod! It's incomprehensible, why an audio device comes with such rubbish...
Can I have your headphones to experiment? I'd love to deprive open those suckers and expermient lol.

Anyways I have been making these for awhile now and sold quite a few to people I know, Craigs List and forums. I actually bought quantities and Im starting to Ebay them. I'll also have different brands of buds offered. The current headset is very capable and in fact looks very stylish.
Anyways so yes you can solder other buds to the original headset though you can destroy both if you dont know what are you doing.
Later.
i got one off ebay last week. it works great. cant wait to use it on the airplane and watch some movies!!!

Yeah, I'm thinking that too. If anything is going to suffer it would be the amplifier in the remote. I'm definately going to try now. Not going to mess up my headset in any case, I'll just attach the mini-jack plug.

Hehe, thanks a lot, but I've got more crappy earphones bundled with whatever device than I've got fingers. I just don't get why HTC or whoever could just add that extra 30$ for halfway decent earphones. If anything they just lower the overall impression of their device.

I have no doubt they do, but I think I'll still prefer my bose noise canceling headset over them.
Also the option to switch to ear-buds at times when that's necessary. How about adding one with a mini-jack plug to your inventory? I think that could be a potential winner.
Anyways so yes you can solder other buds to the original headset though you can destroy both if you dont know what are you doing.

Hehe, I don't have a degree or anything, but I think I can manage to solder left to left and right to right. Not exactly rocket science that. I'll leave enough cord to have a couple of trial and errors even. And as I mentioned above, I won't touch the headset. The mini-jack adapter is messed up anyway (It lasted for a full three hours. )and I really couldn't care less for the bundled ear-buds.
haha i wasnt saying its a rocket science but it could indeed be a pain. i like you plan about leaving the extra cord anyways the Skullcandy headphones i work with are also noice canceling and sound mindblowing when paired with decent player and eqalizer. of course i prefer my Vmodas but this headset gives me the comfort of caring something not that expencive that sounds great and allows me not to carry an arsenal of headphones, headsets, adapters and etc. its nice to be able to pick up the phone while enjoying some music and dont have to disconect everything.
good luck.
does anyone know if this works on a 6700? My headphone jack broke and if this could be an alternative it would be alot cheaper then having the headphone jack repaired
Actually kinda thinking this might work good in my truck. Using the phone to stream some of the hard to find ol' school funk from various websites while being able to keep my phone charged. Since I already have the bluetooth unit in my stereo system (Pioneer AVIC-Z2) it would mute the music and apply the phone call through the truck's stereo system. Which would alleviate having to unplug the adapter and fumble to answer the phone all while adhering to the new California cell phone laws that are coming into effect on July 1st. Has anyone tried this?
re: USB to 3.5mm adapter
Hi guys i got this from ebay, it's not listed as working with Niki /touch plus but it works fine and has a hands free built in too. Will probably work with most 11 pin mini USB ports, MDA etc.... Only £4.90 inc postage, great device!!
Oh i forgot, has the answer/end call button built in too and you can use any 3.5mm headphones so you can dump the rubbish ones that HTC ship.

I have not received mine yet. I am going to make one of them work in my car. I like the idea of sliding it into a cradel instead of having to hook power and the 3.5mm audio out to my car. Seems like the best option currently. Not sure what the three contacts on the side do. Do they would do audio and power?

Na the 3 prong on the side is just for power but it does relieve a lot of wear and tear on your usb slot. I saw the modded one of the original tmobile one and it looks pretty good.

Sure would be nice if someone made a car dock that used the side pins for charging.
Carrrrrnut. Thats the same one I bought. It works great for audio streaming.
I've never used a dock that was SO FREAKING HARD to get the phone in. I've gotten used to it, but it's virtually impossible to put the phone in without the power button getting pressed and bringing up the power options menu. It's kind of annoying. It's also kind of a pain to get out of the dock. Since you can't grab the sides you sort of have to squeeze the top edge of the phone to pull it out. Sometimes I'm afraid I'm going to damage the screen. I think the dock played a part in breaking my power button, even though I know it's an issue with these phones in general. It's just a really poorly designed dock. I don't know what they were thinking. Nevertheless, I have two of them and mounted one in the car to charge, use Navigation, and bluetooth audio. Wish there were some more choices though...

Correct. It is a real POS, and I don't recommend that anyone use it. I jacked up my first phone pretty badly, using this dock. It killed my power button after a month of docking, and the added pressure to the seams caused dust particles to pour into the top left-hand corner of the LCD layer.
Absolutely miserable piece of hardware. Shame on T-Mo for the design. What's the point of creating a phone with docking pins, and never using them? It's the whole reason I kept this phone over the Nexus S. I still can't believe no solutions have come along.
The lady the store literally told me they were pointless.

They do/did!
http://www.skinandcase.com/products/T%2dMobile-My-Touch-4G-Docking-Station.html
On the T-Mo forums some have purchased this before it was withdrawn from the market and apparently it had quality control problems, some didn't work, some worked perfectly and some worked only after disassembly and re-soldering.
Too bad, it's the perfect dock with a perfect price. Who knows if it'll ever be available again.... <sigh>
I wish I'd bought one, soldering a wire that came off in shipping wouldn't be a problem but I didn't and now they're gone. Oh, well......

Bought and tested and can confirm it works on my galaxy note10.1, ive tested the usb an sd card, still have to test microsd, will update with a nay or yay on micro sd if i get round to it
Just a note, i originally thought id bought a non functional chinese knock, or incompatiible unit, as nothing happened when i initially tried testing my usb and sd, turns out, i had'nt pushed the adapter all the way in, had to put just a tiny bit of pressure for it to go all the way in, and yes as im writing this, i DO see the sexual implication i may have just made
Edit: Reevaluating my comment, i think i may just have a dirty mind .

Just a heads up guys for those who are interested,
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B008CT83H8/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00
Bought and tested and can confirm it works on my galaxy note10.1, ive tested the usb an sd card, still have to test microsd, will update with a nay or yay on micro sd if i get round to it
Just a note, i originally thought id bought a non functional chinese knock, or incompatiible unit, as nothing happened when i initially tried testing my usb and sd, turns out, i had'nt pushed the adapter all the way in, had to put just a tiny bit of pressure for it to go all the way in, and yes as im writing this, i DO see the sexual implication i may have just made
Edit: Reevaluating my comment, i think i may just have a dirty mind .

Just followed your link and there's one for half the price ( http://www.amazon.co.uk/SAMSUNG-GALAXY-P7500-Card-Reader/dp/B0073P32X2/ref=pd_sim_sbs_ce_3) , how is the quality of these things?

I cant atest to how long they'll last, hopefully a while, time will tell, but overall im happy with it, as it gives the tab a few more extra ports and storage options, something all android tablets should have to begin with as far as im concerned,
Pro
It fits its purpose
Con
The adapter disconnects if you fiddle with it, to much
Theres a side button to switch between usb and card mode, which can be tricky bugger, trying not to accidently disconect the thing
Usb doesnt work with my portable harddrive, i think its to do with the power draw, im assuming this can be fixed with a software update on the samsung side of things, as the tf200 was able to, and perhaps samsung or a dev can do the the same in future, if their so inlined, otherwise, youll probably gonna need external power for harddrives, usb sticks work fine, at least the two different makes that ive tried, freecom and bytestor.
My ethernet to usb adapter doesnt work either, whereas it did on my prime, pretty sure thats a software fix too, whether that happens, is anyones guess

As someone who has bought it, i can totally agree with some the negative reviews, on the thing being flimsy, its what i was trying to describe on my above post with "fiddly".
My take on it, if you want a multiport this will do for the price, budget adapter if you will, you just have to be delicate. If you strapped for cash go for it, if you want an adapter that will last the long run, find another, likely more cash
There was one review on there that said that his didnt work at all, which initially i thought the same with mine, until i realised i hadent pushed the adapter all the way in, you gotta put a deceptive amount of pressure, for it to go all the way in,. Just a heads up to those who end up buying and face a similar situation.
It bugs me that all these adapters seem to come in two flavors: one solid piece so you have 2" of a plastic tab sticking out when its plunged in or if its connected to an adapter the cord coming out from it is straight out the back. Why doesn't someone come with a simple low profile connector with the cord routed on the side (no sticking out the back) minimal profile when plunged into the tablet and a short cord going into a slim USB or HDMI or Card reader? Would work perfect while the tablet is in a case and not pose a possible breakage risk like the all-in-one types do.
Rpmbnsf I agree completely.

As you say, the only way i can see myself buying a premium accessory is, if its a prime like keyboard
Keyboard spec
Usb, the more the merrier
Hdmi out
Sd card slot
Battery extender
Keyboard doubles up as a stand
That would be my ultimate accessory, and id be willing to pay a "fair" price for it, but if one should come out that meets a certain criteria (usb, hdmi, keyboard) and cheap, id go for it, if user reviews are positive

I had been using this one: http://http://www.amazon.com/GrayBean-Connection-Compatible-Capacitive-TouchScreen/dp/B0072FJEA8/ref=sr_1_5?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1347172206&sr=1-5&keywords=samsung+galaxy+tab+connection+kit
It'a little bulky but I can connect 3 USB flash drives(Fat32) at the same time and 1 memory card.
The memory card reader can't support 2 different memory cards at the same time but that's not a big thing.
I have working at the same time with no additional power supply a 128GB Lexar memory card, 64GB compact flash drive,
32Gb Microsdhc on a compact usb adapter or a USB transmitter for my Logitec wireless Gamepad.
On the Amazon reviews there is a post about working external hard drives(FAT32) with an additional power supply.

Very nice find :good:
Im tempted to try that one out too. Is the port connector secure, as in, does it come of easily with normal use, or does the tab have to more or less stay stationary while using it?
Thanks for posting that,.

Port connector good so far, treating it with care, been using it for a week. I don't move around with the connection kit dangling from the tablet,
that may reduce the life of the connector.
Hub usb + charger is useful?
Hi, I will receive my G.Note10.1 tomorow and I'm looking for an usb adapter that would be able to charge the device as well, because I plan to use it long hours at my university and I love to use pendrives.
I've found this one, and as I can't post links yet, here is the name for those curious:
"30Pin to USB 3 Port Hub Charger Kit fr Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1" - it's in Amazon.com and it's not rated yet.
Has anyone tested it yet? Do you think it's safe to use something like this?
Thanks in advance,
Nimel

Hi,
is there an adapter that could plug into the 20 pins port and receive charging (micro USB) and music (AUX) at the same time?
There's probably a reason to put 20 pins rather than regular 5 pins on micro USB port, so I could use data sync and also listening to music from the same port..
I work alot with the tablet on my studying and listening to music while.. but after long day the battery run out and I need to plug it.. if I want to continue working on it I need to flip it 180 degree to the charging port side but then the AUX is on the bottom and I can't listen to music at the same time..
I tried to google it but I can't find the proper technical words to search for it.. perhaps you know what it called and you can help me..
Thanks.
Try Bluetooth stereo handsfree.
No....

You mean something like this - http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B007UOXV3W
Yes, kind of.. But not as a cradle.. I need it for study and I'll put it on my bag.. Something more portable and easy to care..
Also no need for mounting.. I already have a case with ability to stand it up

Why not...?
I'm using Sony stereo bluetooth for a long time now & it's great.
The bluetooth battery lasts about 2 days (5 - 7 hrs/day) of intensive use.
For standby (turned on but no incoming calls/music) it lasts around 5 - 6 days.
The great thing is I am able to listen to my music while away from my SGN10.1 (5 - 10 meters)

Ah ic, so price is the problem.
I found this one on eBay.
I don't know the quality, but the price is tempting for someone in a tight budget.
Other option is more expensive one with great quality & build like motorola (+USD 25-30), Sony (MW600 +USD 30-40)
If you don't mind listening out loud, try bluetooth speakers.
The cheap one starts at around USD 7
Better quality one like DIVOOM iTour Boom costs around USD 30
I got a great deal buying +USD 90 worth speaker with only USD 40 : Creative D100 portable Bluetooth speaker with replaceable battery+alternative AC power source
Why I give you this long explanation?
I just want to help because what you seek doesn't exists unless you make it yourself or use a docking station.
I hope I can help

the red marked is the only good info you brought ..
Thanks for your efforts but you should have stopped right after the first NO..
This is probably the nearest to what you are after - http://www.amazon.com/iTeck-Charge-Samsung-Galaxy-Tablet/dp/B0054MV84Q - but it may be a risk as I am not sure if the Tab P1000 is exactly the same pinout as the Note 10.1.
Otherwise, the comments above are realistic as I have not seen anything like the device you have in mind. Also the folks here are just trying to be helpful and some of your responses have been a bit abrupt and discourteous.

Be careful if you gonna use P1000 products on our SGN GT-N80XX.
Most doesn't work.
Better look at the reviews on the site or Google for potential problems that may exists.
Ask the seller if necessary.
Edit:
Try this if you decide to buy those : 3.5mm Female to Female F/F Audio Stereo Adapter Connector Coupler Extension MC21

Thanks but thats a crappy cable faults.. or software incompatible..
The plug as 30 pin is the same one for all Samsung's products you can be sure.. perhaps the Note 10.1 doesn't supports the same operations like the tab such as connecting to TV, but the ports are the same for sure..
AUX is supported by the note and charging is supported.. I'm pretty sure that both is supported as well, but I'll be smarter when I'll have one in my hand..
I would appreciate if you could help me find that cable on worldwide shipping website (such as eBay), I couldn't find any.
The name for that is pretty much Galaxy tab to AUX and USB or 30 pin (not iphone!) to AUX + USB ..

Your fingers cover half the display, you tap the screen but nothing happens, and after playing, you're left with countless annoying fingerprints all over your device. We've all suffered the pain of having to play a fast-paced game on a small touchscreen. There are controllers that you can buy to alleviate these issues, but they're expensive—ranging anywhere from $50 to over $100.

And then I found the iPega PG-9052, a ~$22 wireless Bluetooth gamepad. Seeing the low price and relatively well-known brand (iPega has been making gamepads for years, as one can see from the long list of products on their site), I picked one up to try out for myself.
And I was pleasantly surprised. The build quality of the gamepad is very good: the construction is durable, buttons are clicky, and the telescopic stand (which should comfortably fit up to 6 inch phones) is a nice feature. Also, the gamepad has two left and two right shoulder buttons, which cheaper controllers often omit.
The iPega PG-9052 has an unwieldy name, but the device itself is anything but so.
Actually pairing the controller with my device, however, was a bit confusing. You have to press a certain button configuration to make the gamepad enter Bluetooth pairing mode, which took me a while to figure out. Though a manual was included, the instructions had been clearly translated and as a result, were quite difficult to understand. After pairing for the first time, connection was as easy as turning on the gamepad and Bluetooth on my phone.
The PG-9052 worked great for what I wanted, a solid controller for playing ROMs. I tested it extensively with three apps: PPSSPP, My Boy!, and DraStic. It was fully compatible with all three. Buttons were re-mappable in the emulator's settings. There was no distinguishable input lag when playing, from the slowest turn by turn RPGs, to the fastest racing or fighting games. The one con in terms of controls is that the dead zone of the analog sticks is a bit larger compared to some other controllers I have tried. That is, the analog sticks are not as sensitive.
The battery life of the PG-9052 has been excellent. The website that I purchased the gamepad from advertises a 300mAh battery, which sounds small, but I can usually play for about 4-5 hours before needing to plug the controller in.
Overall, the iPega PG-9052 is a fantastic controller. It is comparable to other gamepads double, or even triple its price. The cheapest price I could find was $22 USD shipped from Gearbest (free shipping took about two weeks to get to Toronto, Canada), but Amazon and DX sell it as well. Beware purchasing from small or not well-known online sellers, as there are fakes.
PROS:
- Solid controls, quick response time
- Feels nice to hold
- Phone holder is adjustable, holds up to 6" phone easily
- Long battery life
- Comes with carrying bag and micro-USB cable
- Great price
CONS:
- Analog sticks have sizable dead zone
- Pairing instructions are confusing

Depends on how fast it discharges. If the battery lasts about a month without you using it, that's fairly normal. If it's just a few days, then probably not.
Btw sorry for the late reply, I don't seem to be getting notifications of new replies to this post for some reason...

You should contact them and see if you can get a refund, or at least the replacement for free. They are usually pretty good if you explain your situation properly.
Hi, sorry to revive this thread but I am looking to buy this gamepad and I want to ask you some questions =D.
When you say analog dead zone is really very dramatic? Or are you saying like a real gamer user? I have the Ipega 9017 and the problem that I have is the lack of R2 and L2 so games Like Modern Combat 5 or Brothers in Arms 3 where R2 is mapped as the fire key I cannot really play them.
So my real question is: is the dead zone really a problem while you using it? Do you recommend to buy the Moga Hero instead of this one? Thanks in advance for all your help!
adding some info after getting one myself
very confortable, easy to repair (good design, questionable assembly) and compatible with so many games... i just love this controller. I can't seem to be able to pair it with my pc win7 64bit tho. I've so far tried everything apart from replacing my bluetooth dongle... meh. maybe later.
So far i've been very pleased with what i found inside the controller. I needed to open the controller as the L2 button pin holding it in place was not inserted all the way in. a simple push with a sharp screwdriver did the trick. everything apart from R2L2 buttons which are in the back cover are well fixed to the front cover. just be carefull with the wires not to rip them off when opening the device, disconnect those and gaze at the components inside.
The whole reason i'm annoying you with all of this is that this puppy is hackable/moddable. one could easily add buttons on the back cover to "burn"-ify the gamepad by routing wires through the speaker slits or upgrade the battery size, add leds...etc. but the best thing is that mine has unused solder pads on the motherboard with refferences to internal speakers, and vibration motors... wow! i guess there is a better model out there or optional functions prepared for a future version/model. meanwhile i will look for ways to hook this up myself id love to have rumble if it's possible...
thank you all for everything you guys contribute to this site, i find myself coming back here more and more as you keep having the best info on every query i have and there's almost no info anywhere on this precious gem of a controller. i simply love it!
P.S. i don't see the excessive dead zone some of you may experience.
Thank you thank you thank you.
