"Look" of the device (aesthetics) - Samsung Galaxy S7 Real Life Review

Is the Samsung Galaxy S7 as good-looking as you are (despite your receding hairline, adult-onset acne, and massive weight gain)? Rate this thread to express whether you think the Samsung Galaxy S7 is attractive. A higher rating indicates that you would even go as far to say that the Samsung Galaxy S7 is a beautiful phone.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!

Looks great, feels great, excellent speed and stamina. What more could you ask for?

Agreed, mine just got here. Lovin it!!

I'm about 36 hours in to having mine. Loving it. The size is a welcome change.

Going from a Nexus 6P to this, sort of I am still carrying both right now.. work and personal but I love the look and feel of this phone.. So much more manageable and really the screen size difference is not big enough for me to care.

I traded in a Note 4 for this (which I loved) and I'm thrilled with the smaller size. It's the perfect middle ground for me - not too big for my pockets. As a tall guy, I could carry the Note 4 just fine in my pocket and in my hand it was great, but I absolutely love the downsized goodness that is the S7. My note was always rubbing holes in my pants pockets because it's just slightly too big.

Came from the Note 4 as well. For a 5'0" tall, 100-pound girl like me the Note 4 was seriously huge!! I loved it to bits but it came to the point where it was impractical to carry and hold. I love the size of the S7 and generally the device looks so sleek and classy! I guess what the Note 4 lacked was that "premium feel" devices released afterwards have.

I'd prefer the phone be a bit shorter and wider (like the LG G2 I'm coming from). Otherwise, the size is nearly perfect for me.

The pearlescent finish and curved back are pretty nice to look at.

honestly, I paid for the ad free version of the couple apps and games I use a lot, I have ad block plus for the samsung browser which is arguably as good as or better than chrome. So for me, that takes care of the second biggest reason I root. The top reason, is bloatware and with gatesjunior's debloater, I've blocked all the apps I can't uninstall and the phone runs great. I personally have really no need for root at this point. After doing these things this is hands down the best device I've had yet.

I actually just mentioned this in another thread. I have the Gold Platinum Galaxy S7 (not Edge). It is THE sexiest phone I have ever owned. Ever. I was very leery about buying it since it can't be rooted and I've rooted every single Android phone since the Droid, rocking Android 2.0.1, which I bought the day it was released. Though root didn't exist, and I had no idea what root even was for probably a couple months. Basically I screwed with the phone and set everything up that could be possibly customized on my own. At which point I was bored at work and discovered root while looking up what else could be customized that I didn't discover on my own playing with the phone. I was one of the 2% on VZW who had their 3G data throttled back by 90%. So I was also one of the first with 4G, getting a Thunderbolt, rather than waiting for the Bionic (luckily because that was delayed for so long, I was almost due for a new upgrade). But back to the point from my ADDetour, I barely mind not having root. I do wish I could customize the statusbar icons/text/clock colors/fonts. But otherwise loving marshmallow. And I've always liked touchwiz. And love this one. But that's only half of it. This is the first time I can say in terms of hardware that Android crushes Apple. It is one drop dead sexy phone. Though damn near every flagship Android looks better than the iPhone now. I even owned a few iPhones over the years, trying to accept them because I've always thought they were great devices, but none lasted more than a couple weeks before I sold em off and got a new Android. Even though I thought it looked better physically, and I always jailbroke them and tried to make myself like it, I always came right back to Android. As I said in my thread about getting a case for it. I want as little as possible. I have always just slapped a case on my Androids without a second thought. But I don't wanna cover this beauty up. On a scale of 1-10, I give it an 11. I just couldn't be happier with this phone. Well, once somebody finds the exploit to root it. But as a stock device. Never had one like this

I love the way the camera and flash is lined up. Screen is amazing!

Definitely the best looking phone I've ever had.

Just look slick and stylish. The glass texture feels great too!

Love the way it looks and feels in my hand. If i had 1 negative thing to say it would be the glass gets slippery when you hand starts to sweat a bit.

Love this phone, build quality, aesthetics and everything, its one of the best looking smartphones, sleek, stylish, premium even better.

A Informal Review of the Note 3

Review
Ok, so I got New Note 3 T-Mobile version SM-N900T which is the latest version of the note. As one of the forum moderators I have always been a pretty big fan of the Samsung phones owning the Galaxy Vibrant, the Nexus, S2, S3, S4, Note 1, Note 2 various tablets and now the Note 3. That said, this is just a 1st blush review for people who might find my views helpful.
The Note 3 compared to the Note 2 is close to an ounce lighter , it is 1/16 inch narrower @ 3-1/16" versus 3-1/8" Both are just under 5 inches. My Hands are big and I am used to the size, the fact that it is lighter really makes it way easier to manipulate
The 1st impression is its lighter weight does not give the impression of feeling cheap. Gotta say I kinda like the back texture. Didn't think that I actually would but it has a nice secure feel.
The screen is remarkable, booting up faster than the Note 2 the Color is much richer than anything else I have experienced shy of a BluRay on my computer (which is a top end setup). Some new stock adjustments allow you to set the standard screen color setting e.g. dynamic, movie...etc.. Also it has a USB 3 socket on the phone for higher transfer rates and of course, it works with a USB 2 as well.
There is a on phone a search feature that is kinda novel phone though I am not sure how useful it is provides features as search last week, last 30 days.... etc
The Camera that is stock does have some nice on-board custom shooting and editing features. The Still Camera is noticeably better than the S4 camera, and the Video like most of the latest phones is excellent. One improvement on the still camera is its Infinity camera shooting. Much Much Sharper now, which was one of my common gripes the phone cameras all seem to suffer from. So this a real plus ! Like All the latest phones the Video is excellent tracks movement pretty well. Better than my Canon in fact.
The phone is pretty responsive and the new software provides custom touch sensitivity and a host of other interactive adjustments that let you make just about every custom tweak you can think of......... Remember this is a stock Rom only rooted...........
Most of the other things on it are incremental improvements compared to the Note 2. FYI the Note became the longest phone I ever have owned and consistently used--- The Note 3 Blew it off the top spot without doubt ....
For those who care Antutu got a 30394 and Quadrant was a 22580.. one thing I did notice is the fps are very consistent @ 60-65 at all vdo benches.
The Things I found I do not like that much are NO Custom Roms ...YET ☺ Battery life is not as good as the note 2 but that was a custom Rom so really not a fair comparison.
The HTC does have the 2 speakers the Note... still 1 speaker. Music on speaker the quality is a bit thin and a bit on the 2 dimensional side, but, For speakerphone calls it is just fine. With the Head phones/buds or Bluetooth speakers it really excellent. That said, if you are a headbanger for over driven bass then use Beats or something like that with this thing that would allow you to over boost the bass in a way some ppl like. This phone is really something it really rocks !
In closing, I am really glad I got this new note 3 if you need a business phones there really is not anything better than this phone.
I have included some photos to show how it takes a shot that is a long distance focal point... This was a rainbow tonight Around 7:10 pm the trees are 45-55 feet away .....
Comments welcome........
How did/do you like the S4? I love the Note 2 on 4.1.2, it's smooth and basically lag free. However I found the S4 a bit clunky and laggy. Could you perhaps comment on how they did with the Note 3? Mainly I remember on the S4 there being some stutter in the UI, and lag in the gallery and Touchwiz browser.
Thanks for any thoughts!

Note 3 has enough CPU power and RAM to handle even all those additional features Samsung added to the TW without any delay or lag.
It's a super fast smartphone. :good:

Very true, but that's what I thought about the S4, lol! Although the S4 has perhaps even more fluff and fancy features.
I'm glad to hear it runs well tho, thanks

So many of the early hands-on reviews have spoken ill about the new textured plastic back saying that it "doesn't feel like real leather". I've failed to understand the point they were trying to make in that statement. I don't think Samsung intended to fool a single person into thinking that the back was made of leather. They went for a new unique aesthetic that had a functionality benefit as well. In that regard, I think they succeeded greatly.
After getting my hands on one of these in store, I can say that my initial impressions from pictures and videos was reaffirmed. Aesthetically, it's great. I like the looks of the textured back a lot. The feel, however, is far better than I imagined. I expected it would feel like a cheap plastic cover. It is a cheap plastic cover, but it has a unique feel to it. It doesn't feel like leather, and I never once expected it to. It does, however, feel unbelievably better than the previous galaxy line back covers.

The S4 stock was not that good but the S4 with Carbon or any other custom was equal or better than the note 2 but not enough to want to change so I gave it to one of the other employees.... I am kinda lucky I buy all the phones for the company so I get to pick which one I want and try them all out.....
Like I said the Note 3 is such an awesome phone especially for business there is nothing else like it

Yeah, I would have run Carbon or Slim on the S4 all day, except for some audio issues that I don't think they have ever solved (it worked but not as well as on TW)... in the end I couldn't get happy with the S4 lol(well I also like the biggest screens now).
The Note 2 I am still using, and still love, and am glad to hear they got the Note 3 running nice and smooth. Will probably pick it up once I figure out the logistics thanks
Just traded my Tmo S4 for a Tmo Note 3 and wow, this thing is a Beauty and the Beast. It's a bit larger than my S4 but after 10 mins of setting it up, it feels like the size of my S4 and not big at all. Doing some reading tonight on the Note 3 and playing w settings tomorrow. My movies look incredible on this phone. The only thing that I have issue with, is the tiny speaker and low volume at max.
Ian B
Sounds funny but when I pick up and use the Note 3 I handle it just like all my previous phones with one hand unless using the pen of course, only when I look at it do I say holy crap this is big lol. I have regular non gargantuan hands but no struggling to reach a button as on the Htc One or mistakenly hitting power trying to lower volume on the G2. I had an S4 as well and the first thing to go was the stock launcher in favor of Nova Prime, glad to say I haven't even thought of using it with the Note 3, its just so fast and no lag whatsoever. I've even played around opening windows of other apps inside some games I play, writing a document out with the S-pen while inside Total Conquest plundering a village is mighty cool to me.
Today I flashed Darthstalker not because anything in particular was bothering me but I like the little changes he implements and some tweaks plus removing bloat is always a good thing. About that back cover, I love the way it looks and imo this phone does not look cheap at all. I never saw it in black but the white is quite elegant, my daughter thinks its not manly enough but I love my first white phone. I really liked the grip and feel of the back cover, it doesn't feel like plastic, I feel bad hiding it in a case but a phone this size is easy to lose hold of during the hand to pocket transition if you get distracted.
Flashed Darthstalker as well
This did improve the sound, and of course got rid of the bloat..... lame tmo sounds etc......
After using it a day ... I noticed battery about the same, volume is more, and there are some custom screen functions that are cool.
This phone is sizing up to be a real Rock Star

How do you guys like your M8?

So I'm turning in my work phone (S5) as I move to a new job and am buying my own phone for the first time in a LONG time, so I'm trying to keep the price down. I found the M8 for $99 on contract and am thinking I will go with that, just wondering how you guys feel about yours still?
Any input would be greatly appreciated
I still love my phone. I paid off contract the first day it was available for Verizon. I'm stock with root. I use xposed for what I do want and the phones still fast as ever. This is the smoothest, snappiest phone I've come into contact with. And what's dope about it is it isn't bogged down with bloat. It feels like a stock android phone. Camera is still okay.. But I'm used to it. I've had people question what android phone this is and be shocked that it's HTC. Most of my friends went to iPhone after the Evo. This is leaps and bounds better. I have a tempered glass screen protector and a slick wraps skin on it just to keep the form factor. I would buy it all over again.
But FYI.. There's a few different screens going around on the M8. My original had more warm colors. This random one I received as a replacement a while ago because something I did has cooler colors and a screen that's way brighter.

thanks man! I look forward to it.
Still love it as much as day 1. Definitely my favorite phone all around.
Only complaint:
No RGB notification led, only green/red(would be nice considering it is a top tier phone)

I'm only on my second day with the phone, I immediately rooted and installed viperoneM8. Since I only have 2 days experience and my last smart phone was an old piece of crap nexus I don't really have anything else to compare it to. My first impressions are that I am very impressed with the sound and with the battery life, my last phone wouldn't even make it to noon with light usage, since this phone is still new I been using it really heavy and playing videos, using gps, playing some newer games and it makes it through the whole day without getting low. Build quality is the best, camera is decent, it is responsive and works well without issues what more can I say about it.
I had my phone since the 30th of June.
I had an ATT iPhone 5s. I was liking the 5s bus I've always had the iPhone and knew nothing of android. I always thought iPhones were the best and never paid any attention to ugly android phones which were often sold for a new one
Well, I was tired of Apple and ATT. ATT made me upset so I researched the S5 and the M8.
After seeing many people return the s5 I went with the m8. I hope it can last about 3 years minimum like iPhones easily do.
I played Zelda ocarina of time on mine. I also noticed the keyboard does not like my fingers my iPhone keyboard was good. Swift key is amazing but I worry putting to many apps will slow my phone so I am getting used to the stock keyboard.
Camera is nearly as good as my 5s with the hdr. Sound from speaker phone is better on my m8 and its faster.(feels faster).
I had to return my first phone due to a dead part of the touch screen, second phone had a bad.WiFi receiver but was.snappy, 3rd phone works well but it feels slower and the screen seems warmer rather then cooler. My phone also shows glue on the lenses but does not effect camera and is bareley noticeable.
I like the phone. My iPhone is made solid I dropped it constantly with no case it's been good. I hope that htc uses the high quality ic's like Apple.
I got mine off Amazon for 100 and it was definitely worth it. Speakers are great, it's a good size, and it works. My old phone was a galaxy s3 and it was plenty fast still, but it fell apart. Battery life on the m8 is great too. I'm actually very happy with it.

I'm only just over a week into owning mine. Quality build and materials but I'm not sure if I will keep it as I moved to windows last year and I prefer the windows os.
The unlock gestures on the htc are not very well thought out compared to Nokia plus I miss having glance screen. I will give it another week or so to see if I'm going to hold onto it.
The phone itself is great but it is more the os that I have a problem with but if you want android then I think the M8 is the best option.
Had mine for almost a couple of months.
Love it, just a couple little niggles like no multicolour led and the pesky speaker grills get crap stuck in them.
I'd recommend a spidgen case too.
My partner has the S5 it feels like a toy, touchwiz is annoying and I really prefer my M8 in every way.
I was a Samsung S3 user before hand , had the S5 taken the same design (the pebble didn't look and feel so cheap) I would of considered it.
Not a HTC fanboy by any means (I've had quiet a few HTC phones back in the day) but truth be told they were garbage.
The M8 is a different story, HTC truly upped their game.

Camera was the only thing that almost held me back from getting this phone. However, after reading this, nothing was holding me back anymore from getting it.
It is the best phone I've had so far!
No buyer remorse at all!
Oh yeah... In light of my essay earlier in the thread I'd like to note that I was sworn off htc since my rezound. Went to the s3. Coming back to htc feels awesome. After they picked up the pieces.

Phone is fast. It's usually waiting for me to catch up to it.
Xposed with Side Control module makes up for how tall the phone is to drop down the quick settings with a side swipe.
Double tap to sleep on the Side Control is great also. This one module makes this phone for me.
Bought this phone unlocked in Belgium for 669€ and it was totally worth it. The battery life is good, speakers are amazing, screen looks beautiful and so on , definitely a big win!

Anyone else moving to Nexus 6?

First of all.. I LOVE this phone. Sooooooooo much better than any Samsung on the market. BUT I am sooooo tired if the bad battery life and the lag.
I've been playing with the nexus 6 a lot at work ( Tmobile) and I LOVE how fast, smooth and beautiful it is. And the nexus 6 with the bigger battery and optimized for android 5.0 is supposed to get much better battery
The nexus won't be much bigger than my current setup. Going to go with a cruzerlite tpu case on it... It will be about the same size as my g3 with an otter box on it.
Anyone else switching? And why
Oh.. I'm actually going to miss the back buttons. I fell in love with them. But I like how all nexus buttons are in thumb reach like the Sony.. buttons on top of phone and/or on both sides of the phone is a horrible idea

I moved to the Nexus 6 and returned it within the buyers remorse period was over.
Cons
Battery
Pink-ish tint on low brightnes
Camera
Finger print magnet
Pros
Screen size
Speakers
In hand feel
Camera
Lollipop
Speed
I do not have a opinion on the nexus but I also think the back buttons are amazing. I do differ on the top/bottom button though, right side power button is the next best thing imo.
I saw it the T-Mobiles store. Speakers were amazing. Loved the screen size. Pretty much all.
The screen is just horrible. Isn’t just because is crapmoled, is just a really bad screen. There is no mode to reduce the over saturation as Samsung has. It is something really wrong with that screen; you can see a rainbow effect with the blue-greyish color of the interface, especially when pulling down the notifications bar. That bezel is just gigantic on the sides; bigger than my ex-nexus 4. Screen is way dimmer than the LG G3. I don’t remember what kind of tint but white colors were not whites at all.
Doesn’t have a functional notification light. Seriously?
Non removable battery. No thanks, had enough of that already.
This is personal taste but I think the Motorola curved design is ultra-ugly. Not to mention the huge nexus stamp on the back that looks so ghetto.
Had a 64gb Nexus 6 for about 5 days and returned it during the buyers remorse period.
I'm now using a Moto X 2014 pure edition with lollipop as my daily. My G3 is back in the box, I will take it out and start using it again once official lollipop gets pushed for it.
What I liked about the Nexus 6.
Design, very nice looking device, feels solid and well made. Speakers were nice and loud but lacked "fullness" like the HTC M8. Camera is very nice also, I think the pictures look better in low-mid light compared to the G3. Outdoors it's a tie.
What I did not like..
I admit, I like AMOLED screens but Motorola took the oversaturation to the next level. Same like my Moto X, everything just looks weird to my eyes. Samsung is getting much better with toning down their AMOLEDs and Motorola seems to be picking up where Samsung left off.
Stutters, there are still some micro-stutters present. Sometimes swiping fast to the right to access the Google Now page will cause the phone to stutter. I thought pure Android Lollipop on top end specs with ART runtime as default would provide the fastest and smoothest Android experience... nope.
My Moto X on Lollipop is smoother, believe it or not. Might be the software encryption on the Nexus 6 slowing things down. Games don't seem to run as smoothly either.
Size, I like my phones big but even with my Ringke slim case on, this phone is borderline comical in size.
So after using it for a few days, I found that I liked my Moto X 2014 edition better plus with the Cyber Monday coupon deal, I got it for basically half the price of the Nexus 6. Heck I even think my One Plus One was an overall better device with better battery life, smoother performance and much nicer screen.
It's nice that the Nexus 6 came first with Lollipop and all but now many devices are running Lollipop also so I don't see the appeal anymore, frankly I think it was massively overpriced. $784 here after tax and overnight shipping, definitely not worth the price so back it went.
I thought about it, but the phone is just too big and it feels awkward to hold. My G3 with the Cruzerlite case on is a lot easier to manage in hand than a Nexus 6 with no case on. I can easily use the G3 one handed and that just won’t be possible with the Nexus 6. Tried fooling around with my friend’s phone and it’s just doing nothing for me.
Development scene has picked up enough for the G3 that I’d call the G3 a better Nexus than the Nexus 6 is if both devices are running stock or stockish Lollopop. It’s big for no reason and with Google making no effort at all to design apps for large devices or even OS features to take advantage of the screen real estate, I just can’t hand over my money that easily to them. After the 4, 5, and 7, it looks like I’m done with the Nexus brand while I patiently await the G4.
I agree.
I tried every way possible to justify getting rid of my G3 for a N6. The more I tried, the more I found ways to tweak what I didn't like. Now, with it all customized, it is the best phone I have ever owned.
The only phone I am waiting on now is the G4.

I got in on the black friday deal for the N6 64 gigs $50.00 off. Few days later (when it was supposed to be shipping) got a notice of back order. Waited 2 more weeks to be told It would be Feb before i got it. Cancelled the orders and kept the 2 G3s

Buyer's Remorse, is Droid Turbo 2 worth it???

I got to be honest, I may suck up the $35 and return this puppy. So far it just hasn't wowed me enough to be worth the $720 (for the 64GB). It doesn't seem faster than my Droid Turbo 1, and the camera is faster at taking pics, but the pics aren't better. The battery life seems about the same. I am not a fan of the size of it. Octa-Core SchMocta-Core is what I say..lol. I do like the design, but again the additional size takes away from that IMO. I went to the DT1 bc of the smaller size coming from a Note 3. I feel like I've gone back up to a Note 3 in size and that is not what I wanted. And it's loaded with games I don't want with additional apps I don't want either. smh. great 5MP front facing camera, though I don't often take selfies...
Also I'm getting complaints of people not hearing me or I sound like I'm breaking up. I'm not sure if it's the phone or the weather. We're having bad weather right now so I've been waiting to see if it clears up.
Can anyone convince me to keep this Turbo 2? It's not bad, but it's also not "much" better than the DT1.
The screen is better, has better white balance and slightly brighter. Battery is definitely longer lasting than DT1 (even though spec-wise it's smaller). Speakers are much louder and crisper sounding. Camera is much sharper, better white balance and the lens is better because corners are not as blurry as DT1. There is MicroSD slot. Front has 5mp with Flash. Screen has a user-replaceable top layer so when you decide to sell 1-2 years from now you can replace your scratched up screen with brand new layer from moto for $29 turning it into almost new phone. Overall design - much stronger casing, no more cracking noise when squeezing the phone. Charging is 13hrs in 15 mins vs 8hrs in 15mins, using 25W charger vs 15W. I had both phones side by side for several days. So I'm not sure in what respect DT2 is worse than DT1, it's basically better in every single aspect I can think of.
First it definitely takes better pics then the t1. It's faster taking pics as well my wife and daughter both have the t1. Now is it worth upgrading from the t1 no absolutely not. I don't know why you would waste your money. I didn't feel upgrading from the Maxx to the turbo was worth it. And that was a bigger upgrade in every way. It's only been a year take it back and wait until next year. I also don't understand you issue with size it is a hair larger that's all.

I love this phone but I'm coming from a lgg2. I'm my experience if you ain't happy now with it you won't be later. spend the 35 and get ya something that you will be happy with. When you spend that kind of money for something you need to completely happy.

I didn't say it was a worse phone at all. I simply said it didn't WOW me out of the box, and a couple days later, I'm still not wowed sadly. I disagree with the battery lasting longer though. My DT1 lasts quite awhile with the same type of usage as my DT2.
As for another phone, there is nothing out there that impresses me. I guess it goes to show how great a job Moto did with the DT1??

First it definitely takes better pics then the t1. It's faster taking pics as well my wife and daughter both have the t1. Now is it worth upgrading from the t1 no absolutely not. I don't know why you would waste your money. I didn't feel upgrading from the Maxx to the turbo was worth it. And that was a bigger upgrade in every way. It's only been a year take it back and wait until next year. I also don't understand you issue with size it is a hair larger that's all.

Umm, let's just say I have small hands and leave it at that...lol
no buyers remorse here, cause i got mine for FREE !!! and IMHO, it's wayyyyyy better than the first turbo. i had one and couldn't stand it
Is the Droid Turbo 2, Moto X Force in my case (i live in Europe) worth upgrading from the Nexus 5 (2013)?

Well, you're correct. It's a lot larger and that won't change. It was a real turn off for me. However, I find that since I can use this phone without a case, it is the same size in my front pocket as my Turbo 1 with a case. And, that was the real test for me. In the end, the rest of the spec improvements, including the SD card, are undeniable. So, I am satisfied with it. If it's too large for you, then you are probably smart to return it before your return window closes. Do I wish it was a 5" phone instead? Yes.
You can uninstall all those preloaded games. You can also go to settings-apps-all and disable all of the vzw bloatware so it is never run and you will never see it.
Have you turned off keep WiFi on when screen is off. Also have you switched to LTE/CDMA in settings? These two changes alone have tripled my battery life.

Can anyone tell me if the Droid Turbo 2 is worth upgrading from the Nexus 5 of 2013?

After several days of playing with the Turbo2 non-stop, I'm being hit with buyers remorse. Very close to sending it back
No doubt its performance is superb. The camera is great, the turbo charging and battery life are awesome, and there is so so much to love about this phone.
But I cant get over the following issues:
1) Bezels... too big, but the bottom bezel is a disaster. It's huge. It makes holding the phone awkward for me. And I find myself constantly hitting the check-mark to try and go home.
2) Display. Its not horrible by any means. But it definitely does look "sunk-in" due to all the layers. This wouldn't be a deal-breaker on its own, but its still something that has managed to irk me since I got the phone.
3) I already have the Original Turbo... and that still performs great. Outside of the improved camera, this just isnt turning out to be as big of an upgrade as I had hoped. Testing the phones side by side on nearly ever app I use (note: I do NOT use my phone for gaming), I just dont see any meaningful increase in speed or responsiveness.
I think if I was coming from any 2013-generation phone, I would be have a very different point of reference. But having last years Turbo, I think I will end up being content to hold onto it longer, until something which is a more significant upgrade comes along.

Although I do not have the same issues you have with the device, I do agree on most points. My DT1 still does awesome. That was such a groundbreaking device for motorola to put out, unfortunately I don't think they did nearly as good a job marketing it as they are doing the the shatterproof shield DT2. I went to the V store today and saw like 4 people picking up the DT2. Made me clutch mine a little closer to my body..lol and it made me feel awesome bc I got mine thru design your own and I get a free refresh cause I got the 64GB phone
try doing this to a first gen turbo.....

I think they could have made some incremental improvements to the DT1, and been successful without the shatter proof screen. The only problems I had with the DT1 were the capacitive buttons, poor speaker volume, lack of SD card, and the chin portion of the plastic housing. It is otherwise an excellent device.

I think everyone is aware of the shatter proof screen. The commercials are on TV ad infinitum. There's more to buying a phone then how difficult it is to break the screen.

Two things that are most annoying about this device are
1. People constantly complaining about the V logo..lol I wish it weren't there either, but it's not going away
2. People continuous posting or re-linking the shatterproof test video.... we've all seen it.

"Look" of the device (aesthetics)

Is the LG G5 as good-looking as you are (despite your receding hairline, adult-onset acne, and massive weight gain)? Rate this thread to express whether you think the LG G5 is attractive. A higher rating indicates that you would even go as far to say that the LG G5 is a beautiful phone.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Not bad concept at all
Kind of awkward looking, but have to case it up anyway
not the best but it's been a while I haven't wanted a case to change the look of it.
What's driving me nuts about the hate of this device is how many think the G5 sucks solely based on looks. Has the mobile tech sphere really become this superficial and shallow? It's a phone (not a purse) that has its form follow its function. I'll take practicality over useless 'good looks' any day.

Yeah. It is unbelievable how people choose looking over effectiveness and functionality. LOL If no one likes the G5 im open to receive all your phones. Just send me a message and i will give the address hahaha. And my phone will arrive soon, but by seeing the reviews on youtube it seems to me like a very interesting design though. Not too sophisticated but also not too Simplistic. It looks smooth.
If you slap a bulky Otterbox case on your phone, why would "looks" ever really matter? lol with that said, I like the look of the G5. The metallic body isn't HTC awesome, but it's far from ugly.
I think it looks great/fine. I have a clear case (Poetic Affinity) to show off the phone a bit more, and a kickstand non-clear case (Spigen Thin Armor) for when I don't care as much. Honestly I'm starting to prefer the Poetic just because I like looking at the phone itself.
That said, I've found that I stop caring about looks about a week after I get it. Maybe that's just me.
I actually really like the lok of the g5.. I do always run a case though. I have my silver g5 in a spigen neo hybrid case I really dig the appearance with the case even more then the phone alone.
Okay the phone is understated, but its ergonomically great. It doesn't scream for attention like S7 nor is it super thin and slippery like iPhone. Since i don't like using cases, this phone is perfect for me.
Though I have to admit, when you buy a premium segment phone, looks do matter. And LG tbh does disappoint there. Its just an average looking phone. Nothing to go ga-ga over , but nothing to hate nonetheless. Its simply a boring looking phone.
It looks good ;D
Gonna be my next phone after the Galaxy S6
Dunno...it's like a renewed copy of the Lg G2...is not that bad...i like it.
Well you can't deny it's a huge improvement from the G4 and its horribly shaped back. I do wish the whole front panel was glass though. After the 6P I think it's the best looking droid so all in all, can't complain.
Love it
I don't see why people think its ugly.....to each his own.
I think it's not that pretty... The back is ugly with the camera bump (camera bumps should just not happen, put bigger battery to fill the gap). I hate the curved glass. I hate any curved glass on a phone, it makes it impossible to put a simple tempered glass protector which I think is a must.
But.... the phone is great. Not my choice for design but it's a solid performer! From performance to sound and camera. Everything is rocking solid. I like it a lot!
