Upgrading MCU..

HI ,
Looking at upgrading MCU My unit is GS so I was going to flash this..
FOR GS
GS v.2.55 with sleep and redesigned sound processor from darkleo - MCU_GS_2.55_Sleep_Musik.rar
Im just a little confused about the following instructions as they talk about resolution, does this apply only when flashing the rom and not the MCU?
BEFORE UPGRADING YOUR UNIT YOU MUST KNOW
MCU your unit, there are many (KGL, KGL1, KGL2, KGL3, KGL4, KGL5, KLD, KLD1, KLD2, JY, GS, KYD, MD, BN, HA, MX), If you install the wrong MCU, you will brick your unit.
To know which one you have. Go to Settings -->About
If still not clear, see: here or here.
If you cannot find it here, it probably means that you are in the wrong thread.
Resolution of your unit. 800x480 or 1024x600. If you install the wrong ROM, you will brick your unit.
Chip of your unit RK3066 or RK3188. It does not really matter, ROMs and MCU are compatible between chips.

Does not matter for mcu. Just make sure you use the correct mcu (same letter combo) and you may need to change settings in your factory settings menu for radio. Make note of your old mcu so that you can go back if required

Thanks, I'll try it tomorrow. There is only one available mcu on here for the GS model.

Rom for MTCB-ZD

Hi all,
I currently have a head unit running MTCB-ZD-V2.83 Dec 02 2015 on Android 4.4.4. It is an Eonon branded head unit.
Does anyone know which ROM I can install on it? I want to expand internal storage because bigger apps fail to install but I cannot find an MCU for ZD to download!

I cannot find a download for ZD MCU. Does flashing a ROM overwrite the MCU? Can I just flash a ROM from another unit and not update MCU?

As long as you only flash update.img it's OK. MCU is updated through a separate file, mcu.img.
Anyway, take a screenshot of your factory settings. While flashing ROMs these might get changed and you may have to make sure nothing has changed.

RUL_(NOR) ROM update - help

Hi All,
I have this unit:
MCU Version
2017-03-21 11:20:39 RUL_(NOR)_90_C9_685x5009_CAN_ALL_Newlap_AMP
CPU Info
Intel Atom 4QuadCore, GPU4D Mail-450 MP4
Android 5.1.1
I would to upgrade to android 6 (or higer). I'm not sure which one choose. I do not want to make a brick. Can you post a link that rom will be ok? Which root procedure is OK for my unit? Is it possible to install the original Joying ROM? My current version radio and menu looks terrible. It's look like from app for kids

Klyde Unit What to do ?

Hello everybody,
I´ve got a Klyde Car Specific Head Unint for my Car now i want a custom Rom or a Android Update or maybe a MCU Update
I´ve readed now many Posts about it but I dont found a thread about my Headunit.
When i understood all in the other Threads is the MCU the Chip that Control everything, is it possible that my System will
boot faster when i do a MCU Update ? My MCU Version is : MTCD_KLD_V254e_1
The next question is about the DAB APP ive got the Version 1.0 sometimes when i start my Car i dont find the Channel i have than to close the App
and restart again is there a fix ?
My Build Number is px5.userdebug 6.0.1 MXC89L maybe somebody got the same Device and can help me.

All Klyde MTCD/E headunits are the same inside, they only differ outside, therefore the only thing that is important is the make (KLD), the platform (MTCD/E) and the processor (RK3188 (PX3) or RK3368 (PX5) ), so you dot need to look for your specific unit, you need any Klyde MTCD/E MCU and for the ROM any MTCD/E ROM for your processor type - because all PX3 and PX5 MTCD/E units use the same board, you dont have to use a Klyde ROM, you can use ROMs from other MTCD/E manufacturers (a long as they match your processor type).
So, in summary, find the latest KLD MTCE MCU and use that and you can use any MTCD/E RK3368/PX5 Android 6 or Android 8 ROM.
BTW youve posted i the MTCB/C forum and you have an MTCD/E unit, I ll get the thread moved.

Update MCU (PX3)

Hello! I currently have this version of MCU: MTCE_LM_V2.75_1
Is it important to update MCU? Are there risks? After the installation should I configure something?
From the radio I can not update MCU, it does not find any update. But in a post of this forum (Dasaita) I have seen an update is it compatible with my radio unit? MTCE_HA_V3.06.zip
I have a PX3 of 2Gb.

I just found this MCU file: MTCE_LM_V3.01c20190111 better this update? I do not know what is the latest MCU version of MTCE_LM_V2.75_1

It's better to keep it up to date, even when you dont experience issues with the device.
The updates are normally not that hard to install and version 3 has the function of teleconference within.
I noticed with my upgrade that the device doesnt freeze anymore during boot. But i had 1.9 installed and now 3.00

Could you tell me what is the most updated version of this MTCE_LM_V2.75_1? PX3 2Gb. Thank you

I thought the rom for the MCU is 3.01 for LM, you can find those on the forum, only a good search is required.
I have the GS version but i do not recommend installing an MCU from another supplier.
The android PX3 2GB roms can be found anywhere. Search for PX3 ROM LM.

Your unit is not an MTCB/C/D/E, asking in the wrong forums. Read on.
This entire thread is a waste of space in that there are more appropriate places the OP could have posted in or at least searched first, but that's another matter.

I have a MTCE_XRC_V2.79k_1 which has the Intel Sofia cpu. What MCUs can I use?
