How to disable Application Name on small tiles

Hello! I was looking for a method, which can disappear Application Name in small tiles.
Before:

After:
It is very easy.
Instruction:
1. Unpack your XAP file. (Use winRar)
2. Find WMAppManifest.xml
3. Open it in text editor.
4. Look for this line: <Title>[APP NAME HERE]</Title>
5. Replace it with <Title> </Title>.
6. Go to winRar, replace the old WMAppManifest.xml with the new one.
7. Install Application.
Done!

This would solve something that's been annoying me for a while.
But, I have no idea how to remove a xap from my phone, and a search doesn't show me anything. So how do I remove/copy a xap from my phone to my PC? And is it even possible with parts of the ROM? Such as music and video?

how does one get to the Xap to edit it?

It is pretty obvious by now that you need to be a developer and have the source code to do so...
You can't get to the XAP, and even if you did, you would have to decompile it, then recompile after you've done the changes.

right. i too have an 7.0.8858 rom (RTM) which has this no more, this was just an bug so everything is like it should be.

this app can do it! it can extract xap from phone and u can copy it from phone to PC using Windows Phone Device Manager!

This is only for those who don't have 7.8 RTM Rom.........
But I think everyone have this rom......

Reports have been flooding in detailing an update for Windows Phone 7.5, which can only mean one thing - Microsoft has begun rolling out Windows Phone 7.8 for those who own previous generation hardware. you do know that's nothing to do with 7.8?
its probably firmware update and other OEM changes

It is only Oem app and drivers not Sys 8858

It's worth mentioning that it's for RM-803 (710) and not RM-801 (800) before someone jumps on it and breaks his phone.
Oh, and it's dated may 2012.

Following OEM marketplace hysteria, I decided to take this old but not published app from archieves and publish it.
Enjoy.
Main purpose: changes OEM marketplace WITHOUT reboot.
In ROM usage will be allowed after Dynamics 2.2 release.

I guess Interop would be enough. Though, not sure if I compiled it correctly since I compiled it in February.

It is possible, but it is quite complicated. Also in some tests I had Nokia and HTC marketplaces working simultaneously, but second marketplace was usually a bit buggy, so I haven't implemented it.

How to install buddy???? Will it work on win 8.1???

Hi friends... iam replying U for the feed back by our wp7 devs.
Some asking me how to install, you can use xapdeploy app or via pc with windows phone deploy tools.
And some for update, ya I will update it soon I have some trouble of policy allow problem on some native codes. Wait for update soon coming up.
And some for next platform like wp8 and 10, please have a try if any one has a better device and reply in this form now.
I think you need a wproot tool app first for policy trust

Where are the updates located on disk?

Hi Does anyone know where the updates are located on the disk?
My phone is rooted.
I.e. when the system, phone updates download.

C:\Data\SharedData\DuShared

Just checked that location and there are very little files in there. My phone is trying to schedule a reboot so I expected it to have a gig or so of files

Before preparing for install are there.....then, i realy dont know .... inside \windows\imageupdate? you may try to search for spkg files.

ahh interesting, I'll have a poke around. Yes this has gone past the downloading stage and past the preparing so I guess they are now elsewhere

are you looking for Ndtk ?
It's firmware package come from Nokia "OEM" not MSFT.
I guess they will not block ndtk on older device such as wp8-8.1 series.
so collect all necessary packages when oem releases their firmware updates.
One More thing, stay ready to catch device specific firmware packages for W10M (as they will be retail cab's)
Possibilities of the cooking fresh retail ROM, I've trick to resign modded ffu.
Production images can be flash on any retail device.(production images accepts msft test cabs, like including tshell)
