Hi guys/gals,
I own a Pebble Steel, and although it's nice I would like a colour touchscreen.
I've seen a Sony Smartwatch 2 that I could literally swap for my Pebble Steel, but I'm just wondering is the app support still there?
I have a Nexus 5x, all I want the watch to do is receive notifications such as messages, whatsapp, facebook & email to the watch and also be able to control my music (Deezer or Google Play Music).
Is it still possible to do??
Thanks in advance!
Hey,
I still have it in year 2016. It's work fine with my LG G3 stock mm 6.0. You have lot's of third part app on google play store for all notifications ( i use informer, it's supporting long list of must have app on phone). For music i use app SmartMote, so when i press play on watch it automatic start playing music(stock LG player and it is working also with google play music, tested). I am very happy with watch, battery is great, screen is great, use most third part apps like "smart herenavi", "officesuite", "send sms", "calendar",... Will continue use in future. Have a nice day.
I just published my new app for Sony SmartWatch, I claim it to be the coolest app for this device, yet. Check it out:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eir.replier
Not only you can receive messages, but you can also reply to them. How cool is that?
So, I guess that says something about the app support.
I have used quite a few smart watch devices (SmartWatch 1 and some other Sony smart accessories, Samsung Gear, Pebble, Garmin Vivoactive, SmartWatch3 aka Android Wear...) and the SmartWatch 2 proved to be the best of them all.
I have few smartwatch :

Wanted to ask it too as I can have it for $50 (or even $25 if everything end fine). Tried one in shop and it worked fine (updated it for them ).
But is there a way to get endomondo app back? Its not in the store and I would love to use it

Endomondo still in PlayStore.
Battery life is good as well it beats all the android wear and apple watches , also always on looks great in full sunlight as the more light the easier it is to see the time , plenty of watch faces plus make your own , a good smartwatch that works
for the price and its functionality, i'd say yes
i have the Moto 360 now which does look a lot better
also the watchfaces look a lot better, but both are my taste of course
but android wears menus are awkward to say the least
i still don't know how to read back old notifications
then again, i didn't do that a lot on my SW2 anyway
battery life is pretty good actually, i put my watch in theatre mode at night
then it lasts 2 days, compared to 3 for the sw2
i'd love a round Sony watch with updated screen and their own OS
but i don't see that happen, so..

Guys how we missed this?
Since 9th of December this app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ifit.android.app&hl=es
Added standalone support for GPS running with our SW3.
We have to try it.

but can we export the training to other app? like runkeeper?
I don't think so. But it's a nice way to try a new service and website.
Tried this today... Only good thing over ghostracer is looks, but that's it. More functionality and ambient with ghostracer.
Actually I find this app more than enough. It just works. Settings are easy to use and all tipical info is displayed.
I know ghostracer is great having the developer here, but ifit is the best other choice.
It's possible to see at the same time four fields of information.
And also when the app starts it waits for proper gps signal.
It's the closed ecosystem that is a non starter for me. Their website stinks and for serious runners, strava, runkeeper, etc are 100x better
I know, it depends how serious you're.
I just run for fun and I have enough with proper data in my wrist, basic cloud storage and web service.
At the moment it's the only decent alternative to Ghostracer beta...
I see now they even are promoting the SW3
https://www.ifit.com/sonywatch
I think they deserve a little more attention. They are the first of the professional running web services to develope serously for our watches.
Most serious runners or bikers have never heard of ifit. They cater more to the gym treadmill crowd with their built in software. Not saying it's bad, but most serious runners have garmin, polar, or sunutoo, or tomtom. Which have their own services and many sync to strava and runtastic.
With ghostracer hrm support, lapping, and future alerts, it smokes ifit
Sure, I also think ghostracer is the most serious project with our watch.
Just saying this is the best other (not beta) choice right now.
I just got a new SSW3 today and it has a iFit logo on the box.

gps accuracy?
Just wondering how is the gps accuracy for this app?
I have tried runkeeper, and I have no way knowing if the gps is connected or not.
Just tried ifit, only run for around 1.6km and it reported too short to save to the phone and just deleted the record.
I don't usually run a long distance, and this isn't a app for me if can't record short distances. :crying:
Otherwise, the GPS seems to be better than runkeeper. At least it keeps track of my run even I am under a sheltered walkway.
Hey all
here is my watchface for sw2, hope you guys like it.
and thanks to naheel and all in the xda foruns.

What I was looking for
Your design is what I was looking for exactly - too bad it doesn't work on my watch for some reason but that's ok I just wanted to say what a good design it is.
Cheers.

Thanks for the help, but I did that. I built a new watchface using the 2nd design (the one on the Right in the pics above) which leaves the bottom row free for standard widgets. Sadly, only the widgets appear but not the watch.

Sometimes it takes a bit to load the watch face,
here it is a picture of the watch face working today:
It Works
Thanks to all for the help... it turns out I needed to reset my watch which I did yesterday for a different reason and suddenly this watchface is working as expected
Really happy with it.
BTW, I was about to upgrade to the latest software but saw in the user reviews that it might break 3rd party watchfaces... did any of you upgrade yet and if so, is this watchface still working after the update?
Cheers

That's good news.
It's really lovely how Sony is still supporting this watch.
Cheers
Simple to set up and works like a charm, thank you.
If you have troubles getting the watchface to load try uninstalling the Sony Smart Connect app and reinstalling it. It's the most common problem my users have and it generally fixes the issue.
Hi all,
I recently changed the following settings in My Tracks on my phone and it had translated into a very accurate GPS reading on my Sony Smartwatch 3 while running (without phone):
'Recording Distance Interval' = 1m
'GPS accuracy' = 10m (excellent GPS)
I should also note that prior to changing these settings my GPS accuracy was very erratic. The map at the end of my run would be all over the place. Now it looks bang on!
Mind you, I recently received an update to the latest Android Wear version so that may have done it too, as it said drivers were updated (didn't specify the devices or drivers updated).
Cheers!
Which update did you get? 5.1?

Hi! I have Sony smartwatch 3 from a few days. I can't be able to use my tracks in smartwatch stand alone mode. I have GPS on, start to record and I have always 0km/h. When I finish to record I don't see my trip but only time without others informations. Where I am doing wrong thing? How can I use it in right way? Whit endomondo it works, but in a bad way, a point every many minutes.
sorry for my bad English.
Thanks to all
Endomondo
I am using Endomondo and watches as stand alone device for skating and riding bike and works great (20-25% battery useage per hour). Tracking is more better than on my mobile phone.
Android wear OS: 5.1.1
Android on phone: 4.4.2

How you did it? I received my SW3 today, with the ultimate Wear update; and I'm not able to show the GPS options on Endomondo app.
I have Endomondo 11.2.1 And setting is in 3 points menu on home Endomondo screen: 3 points->Settings->Smart watches->Android Wear where is last down line GPS and could be switched between phone and watches.

Hello to all Moto 360 users!
I've acquired a Moto 360 a few weeks ago, and I've decided to challenge myself a bit and port my latest game on it. I know smart watches aren't the best devices for games, but I'm quite happy with my current progress, and I decided to upload it on the Play Store and share the development with the forum members.
There's still room for progress, and I'm still actively working on Cyber Runner to improve the user experience and performance, so feel free to share any remarks, suggestions or thoughts. Oh, it's supposed to work on any smart watch, if anyone else has any other watch devices, feedback will also be welcome.
Instructions: swipe up on left side of watch screen to jump, swipe down to get off a platform and tap on right side of watch screen to shoot.

Hello!
I've updated the game to version 1.2, with a few enhancements and changes for Android Wear. Has anyone had the occasion to try it on Moto 360 or any other Wear device? All feedback is welcome.
Hello to all!
Version 1.2.1 is out, with several improvements and enhancements for Android Wear. I'm quite happy with the progress I have made since the first version supporting Android Wear, and the game works quite neatly on my Moto 360 now.
Feel free to give the game a try and share your thoughts with me.
Looks amazing!
Can you add some video to the Google Play to see the game process on phone and Moto 360?

Hello,
Sorry for the late response, I've really been busy in the past couple of months and had a few health issues. Thank you for your interest in the game. I haven't got a good camera so it's going to be difficult to film for the Moto 360 (unless somebody knows how to make video captures on wearables), but I'll see what I can do for phones.
By the way, version 1.2.2 is on its way, with various enhancements and optimisations. Enjoy!
Just noticed today that the Google Fit - Fit Activity App run tracker works on standalone gps on the sw3!
Seemed to work pretty well for me. Ghostracer has not been working so well for me last week or two so it came at a good time.
It does work very well indeed. The fit challenge is now in the fit activity app, but they should really combine all the functions in one app.
I think it's brilliant, saves having a whole load of other fitness trackers to sort through - finally all in one place with one app.
Just one fault/question - it is supposed to be able to track your heart rate if you have it on a Smartwatch, which the SW3 doesn't have. Instead I have the Jabra Pulse Sport for heart rate tracking, which has smart Bluetooth, but I can't for the life of me get it to connect to Google Fit.
Does it map your run for you on a map? Or just calculating distance, etc.

It maps it for you.
I found this out recently as well and have since uninstalled other run tracking apps
I use now endomondo, because of gps... however it doesn't pre-plot a route for you to follow, only plots where you've been. gtdRR, so you're saying fit does provide a plotted route? Wow, then I will install fit and try it.
update: The app was already on the watch, tried it but I never saw a map? Endomondo lets you see a map

you just start a Fit activity and it connects to gps automatically even when not connected to the phone.
I just find it strange the it always shows me a slower pace than ghostracer
How does it sync the GPS data after the run? In my case it seems to stay in the watch forever unlike Ghostracer, which syncs very nicely.
You are right, a 5km run can take more than 1 hour to be visible on the phone.
During this time, the run disappear from the watch, and you won't have any idea if the data is lost or not.
The experience is horrible.
But at the end, that's fine, after the frustration
Yeah have the same experience, has anyone find a easy way to export from google fit to endomondo as I have a challenge going on there? right now im using takeout.google.com but that takes for ever.
My Endomondo smartwatch app keeps uninstalling (non english setup). so I use google fit.
And lost a workout do to Endomondos faling sync.

I just did 'Start Activity' on the phone.
It did track my distance, not sure what happened to GPS.

I can't find the "start activity " option on the watch. There is only open on phone option. Anyone else with similar problem?
Fit doesn't have one on the watch
Fit has a "start activity" button on the watch Otherwise there are also another app called "start activity" in the app list on the watch.
