As the title says i need a player that plays hi10p mkv files without lags...i user mx plaher till yesterday with no problem but today it did have a lot of lags and i dont know the reason

MX Player is still the best choice. Are you using software decoder?
Sent from my ASUS_Z00AD
No system can handle 10bit in Hardware decode right now except Tegra. But a few device running on that.
So, please use Software decoding
MX Player has been fine for me, I just have to clear out background processes or it will lag. It's really the best choice in this matter based off of my experience.

which video player are you guys using?
i'm trying to play .mkv and .avi files with rock player and mx player
but i can't seem to get it to work.

MX Video Player has dual core support, plays everything I throw at it. Be sure to download the codec addon in the market too.
Avi should work but mine is little laggy when playing avi. Mkv is hit or miss. The best video player should be the mx video.

which codec addon did you install?
There is only one and it should point you to the correct one the first time you start mx video player. If in doubt uninstall mx video player and reinstall. It should send you to the correct codec link once again.
i found mobo to work better than mx and rock player.

+1 on mobo

Just did some comparisons and Mobo does seem to have better playback. Smoother and less buggy. Switched from MX to Mobo Player!
i just need to find one that can play .mkv files.

I using Vplayer. Work fine with almost type of movies. And also support SRT to view subtitles.
QQ Player, search it on the web market.
Is optimized and very fast on my HTC Magic and Acer A100 and play .mkv
+1 for MX Player.
I haven't tried MX Player yet , but everywhere I search Mobo seems to be the player everyone recommends and it boggles my mind. As an app itself its pretty good, however, it lasted a total of 30 seconds on my phone after I realized that it's spamming me to no end with its bull suggestions for battery savers, task killers and a plethora of other apps I couldn't care less for.
It's too bad because the app definitely has potential.
I'm gonna give MX a shot. Hopefully that's smooth in playing back HD content on my S2.

Hi, can I watch movies with subtitles on Acer Iconia A100? Witch player support that? Does it works fine?
Thanks!
If you want to watch videos n do other stuff at the same time, you could give Super Video a try, otherwise I recommend DICE Player
Sent from Iconia A100 rocking CM9 with OC'd kernel currently @1. 5GHz
I use dice for my HD mkvs mp4s and stuff like that, mx for SD and net streaming. Dice and Mx both support subs. I used to use mobo but honestly dice and mx both play better with and seem to force HW more often, dice in particular.

Impressive Video Player
I highly recommend the free Pop Player app. I recently made a couple of reviews on it on YouTube.
This new video player allows the user to utilize speed-control. The slow-motion
and speeded-motion are extremely smooth too and audio syncs perfectly with
the video at any speed. It can definitely be useful for athletes and students.
Some people I know even use it to replay their golf swings in slow-motion
in order to improve their form.
This player plays MP4 files that contain H264 and AC codecs.
Check out my review of this app on youtube by searching "Pop Player Free Android App"
which is the best free media player for the galaxy nexus ?
that plays avi mpeg divx etc?
I use mx video player and it's working great even with 1080p from my camera.

I'll double that! Dual core CPU support, HW/Software/QuickSoftware decoding modes, gestures and most importantly - it's free!
so mx player it is then ?
If you'll find something better and free - let me know, please
I use moboplayer. (free and no ads)
mx player is better for now as it uses the whole screen. Hopefully moboplayer will update it to use the full screen as well.
I've had problems with mx player. some mkv's were stuttering a lot (of course hw decoding was turned on), others worked.
now I'm using DICE player. it's free but has ads. so far I didn't come across any mkv that didn't play smoothly.
+1 for moboplayer. Havent had any problems with it.
I have MX, Mobo, and Dice. MX is my go to app for video as it seems to work the best for me. If I run across a file that won't play I try one of the other two.

Do the MKVs stutter ont he stock video player?
My experience is that all MKVs stutter, even if the video is easily decodable.
I think the demuxers in Android 4 are somewhat broken/buggy.
I've used dice, mx, mobo, and dice is the only one that plays audio with mkv files. Unfortunately its riddled with ads and the paid version is unavailable for purchase. Anyone run into this issue?

There was a setting that I had to change and my mkv audio started working in MX. I don't remember what it was though

Try BS Player Free from the market. I also use MX player because I feel it outputs better sound but BS plays everything I throw at it Including 1080p mkv's and I even have a couple of very high bit rate 1080p m2ts files that play on it just fine.I'm on Trinity kernel (1536/384). Let me know how it goes.
I have had a lot of problems with the smoothness on Mx player lately. It used to play HD files fine in software mode but lately has not.

+1 BS Player free , good for HW decoding and also those mkv movies that don't appear to have sound with other players
I've tried MX player and Dice and they are very laggy, was actually surprised about this considering the same video's play very smooth on an ipad2 using AVplayerHD.
Try BSPlayer plays everything I throw at it.

+1 for BSPlayer. I tried MX, it was laggy. BS played the video smoothly. It's software decoding, though, so might take a significant chunk of battery.
EDIT: The video was Hi10p
Try disableing H/W+ in MX Player or check out Archos Video Player . I find it has much smoother playback than MX Player
Anybody else having problems with playing mkv videos skipping when using stock video player since lollipop update? I can play them using vlc by turning of hardware acceleration, but they played fine on kk with stock player, anybody know why this is happening or have a fix?
Stock rom rooted on t800 btw
Sent from my LG-D855
maybe you can try mx player at this moment if there's no fix out there.
+1 for MX player. There is no better player out there and wipes the floor with crappy limited functionality stock players. Make sure you install the XDA armv7 neon custom codec for full ac3 dts support.
The link is in the support section of the app.
More reason for me not to upgrade to lollipop on my T800
I only want lollipop so i can write to the microsd, so is it worth me upgrading.
John.
