Hi
I want to replace the default wallpaper and lockscreen wallpaper, in custom rom that I'm make.
But I don't find the location of those files.
Anyone can help please?
framework-res.apk in folder framework ...
No other location
The wallpaper doesnt change the Picture when you not flash the Rom again with the framework-res.apk
This mean:
Put the modifyed framework-res.apk into the Rom and wipe your phone and then Flash the Rom ...after first start you will see the Wallpaper
Or method 2:
Wipe your data partition without touch our own userdata ( pictures ect...) and then restart the phone.
Attention: you will lose all your Apps and Games in your Phone ......
Thank you for reply.
Now I managed to replace the image inside the system/framework/framework-res.apk.
Id did work, but it made the picture scrollable for 3 homescreens and I need the normal option which the whole picture didplayed in each home screen. (the two options are avilable when I do it mannualy from the device, but as default he choose the wrong option)
Also I need to modify the default lockscreen wallpaper, which is not in theframework-res.apk file, I don't know where it is.
Very appriciate the help, Avi.
p.s. Anyboudy know how to modify the default homescreens? (number of homescreens and the items inside them)
I hope i understand you....
Show on the Original Wallpaper what a (xxxx-xxxx Pixel) it have...

The screen is 720x1280 (G3 Beat).
This is not the issue.
First I set the wallpaper via the device itself, then I pulled the walpaper from /data/system/users/0/wallpaper which is 720x1280 like the original (xhdpi) , and put it in the framework-res.apk file.
The problem is that there are two option to set wallpaper from the device.
For example for this wallpaper (720x1280)
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Option 1.
The picture will fill the screen, and if I have for example 3 homescreens the whole picture will displayed on each one.
Option 2.
It will take only the middle part of the image to make it landsacpe , and make the wallpaper scrollable. (along with the homescreens)
And then in homescreen number 2 for example, it will show only part of the image.
The problem is that I want the wallpaper to be like option 1, but as default is like option 2.
I hope you're understand now.
I'm also need the location of the default lockscreen wallpaper.
Edit:
I found the it, It's in the LGLockScreenSettings.apk/res/deawable/drawable-xxxx/walpaper_01.jpg
Still need solution to the problem above.
Thanks for the help.
Avi.

Limitations: A custom wallpaper must be used, the background of the wallpaper must be a solid color (white/black)
Find a wallpaper on Google images with a black or white background.
Save it to a safe place you remember
Right click Desktop>Personalize>Desktop Background
In "Picture Location" choose Solid colors
If your custom wp background is black choose a white color, if it is white choose black (Windows knows what color the background is of a set color and will try to counterbalance it by changing the font color)
Now find the location of the custom wallpaper and set it.
The text should be hidden now
How to remove/change the Windows branding from the login screen
tl;dr file you want to edit is in "C:\windows\branding\basebrd\basebrd.dll"
Get Resource Hacker
Download "Take Ownership" This will allow you to unlock files so you can replace them without Windows getting protective
Right click on TakeOwnership.reg and click "Merge"
Install ResourceHacker
Navigate to "C:\windows\branding\basebrd\" in Windows Explorer
Right click on basebrd.dll and click "Take Ownership"
Open ResourceHacker and navigate to "C:\windows\branding\basebrd\"
Open basebrd.dll
Expand the "BITMAPS" section
Take note of the file format, they are Bitmaps
AFAIK 120 and 121 control the LoginScreen text
right click and Save the resource as a .bmp file
edit the image and modify it to your needs
Right click on the 1033 of either 120 or 121, click "Replace Resource" and choose the corresponding image you want
Save the new basebrd.dll file to a new location
Open "C:\Windows\Branding\Basebrd" and move new basebrd.dll to the folder with old basebrd.dll in it.

Hi All,
First of all I would like to thank to this tread for the great update for our SGS
I was keep my eyes open in almost every day for the update on our SGS
and if this tread is in the wrong section / room please accept my apologize since I am a new here
This was inspired by my love to the knight rider movie ... and after several days searching everywhere I couldn't find the site or link which is related to this, so I am start to learn how to create the own boot animation
and after some trial and error I found the way to make it .. and this the result
okey ... now we move to the point
This boot animation is based to the knight rider movie 2008 (mustang shelby GT500R)
there is three different images and loop for the sequence.
and these bootanimation is rotated due to the source images orientation.
First sequence will shown the intro (looped 1 time)
the images is shown bellow
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
second one will shown the KITT attack mode transformation (looped twice)
the images is shown bellow
and the last sequence is just the KNIGHT RIDER wording (looped 3 times)
the images is shown bellow
to instal it is easy ;
- make sure your phone is root (I am sure most of the custom rom user will rooted by default)
- using root explorer (you can get this for free in the market)
- navigate to \system\media
- do a backup on the current bootanimation.zip (you can simply rename this file to another) just incase you not like mine so you can revert to the one that you already have
- afterwards paste the file to this directory
- do a reboot and see the KITT in action
if you need a custom bootanimation, I can make it for you
just give me the movie / images sequence and let me know your device type
note : make sure you rename the attached file first to bootanimation.zip
please give a try and hit me with your feedback

Rom and Kernal aren't Important but I am running Paranoid Android JB 4.1.1 found Here for the lock screen and notification bar customization
Thanks to Armando Ferreira and Colorfulvisuals for the files and tutorials
You need Nova Launcher, MultiPicture Live Wallpaper, Simple Calendar Widget, & Aix Weather Widget
HOW TO INSTALL
Download zip here
Move Files in "For SD card" folder onto sd card
Using a file Manger, go onto sd card, find MultiPicture Live Wallpaper, Install apk
(i include this apk because you can't download it from the Play Store when running JB due to compatibility issues, if you are not running JB feel free to download from the Play Store)
*I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF THIS CAUSES PROBLEMS ON YOUR PHONE*
Go into Nova Launcher Settings>Backup and Import>Restore>Ghost Backup
Place Simple Calendar Widget and Go to Backup/Restore and click Ghost
Place Aix weather widget
Place any other widgets you'd like
Hint: Click the Android to open App drawer
HOW TO CUSTOMIZE
Use the PSD files and edit in Photoshop to your liking, if you do not have Photoshop i believe you can do some editing on GIMP
To place invisible folders and icons, simply place, edit and choose the invisible icon from gallery(included in zip)
That's it!

You are welcome
Some instruction to flash these will be appreciated...
some ppl may wonder if these are flashables or if we need to copy/paste/rename em...
Like this in iElvie's thread:
How to Install
These are not flashable in recovery.
You need a file explorer with root access. I use ES File Explorer, which is free and easy to use. Make sure that /system is mounted r/w.
Navigate to /system/customize/resource and look for zip files with "animation" or "boot" in the name. Those are your animations. They should be bootanimation.zip and downanimation.zip in ARHD.
Rename each file by adding .bak to the filename. This will preserve your originals.
Copy the new animations to this folder and rename with the correct filenames per the third step.
Change permissions on each file to rw-r-r. In ES File Explorer, you do this by selecting the file, then More>Properties and tapping Change in the permissions line. This will bring up a dialog. Uncheck the Execute column and Group and Other in the Write column. Then click OK and Cancel in the previous window (this won't cancel what you just did).
I'd like to try these out but it seems the preview gifs aren't showing up.
Can you upload the previews again?
Thanks!
please preview.....
it's almost been a year but could we see the previews?
Hi guys
Please, someone can help me to find a splash screen LL "white" background?
