I charge my Nexus 5X with the official charger, and usually takes less than 2 hours to charge (not sure if 1h30m or 1h40m I don't pay attention tbh), and normally it charges this fast. Except in one situation: When the phone is turned on charging after turning itselff off reaching 0 battery (I was just doing a full charge 1 time).
In this situation, the N5X still says "charging rápidly" but it charges 1 battery every 2-3 minutes, and says "4h left to full charge". I let it charging turned on like this, and this slow charging continues on and on... and it really takes that time to charge.
However, if at any point I turn off the N5X and I let it charge for a little turned off, it charges normally (1 percent per minute or more) and after turning it back on again, it continues charging normally.
This is strange, and didn't happen with the N5.
Any of you noticed this?

I had my new HTC Desire 3 weeks ago. Those last days I plug my HTC to the charger overnight and when I take it back in the morning the battery is only up to 92-93% and the led is green, like it had a full charge. If I unplug-plug the device, it will resume charging, this time up to 100%.
Is this a normal behaviour for a battery 3 weeks old?
How can I fix this?
This is normal behavior of the phone. It charges up to 100% and then stops until the charge drops down to 90%, at that point it starts charging again up to 100%. This is what you have noticed, there is nothing wrong with your phone or the battery
This worked, even though I am no longer worried about it.
1) After green light unplug phone and wait 10 minutes
2) Shut phone off
3) Plug back in till light green
4) Turn back on
Poof, 100% but other than that the above post is correct, not a problem. I bought an extended battery for mine. 3,000 mAh and have no problems.
So I've noticed for a while now that when I disconnect my dInc after charging, the battery will drain almost 20% within the first couple hours (almost no use at all). I suspect that the battery isn't being fully charged when the green light first goes off. After I plug/unplug the cable and charge a couple more times, it holds a higher charge more consistently. I've read this is due to the phone not wanting to over-charge the battery, however in the case of my battery (Seido 1750), it doesn't even fully charge.
Is there any way (aside from the plug/unplug scenario) to fully charge the battery in one go? An app maybe?
My phone is rooted.

The battery could be losing its ability to hit its capacity. In other words its wearing down.
Nothing will fix it. There are no apps to bump charge.

Get an external charger for your battery and couple of extra batteries. I get best result not charging in the phone and rotating batteries.

Charge the phone powered on until the light turns green. Leave it plugged in but turn it off. Leave it plugged in, off for about 20 minutes, you will notice the light is still orange even though its already "charged." Once the light goes green again, unplug it and power it up. When I do this, my battery will go for 3 or 4 hours before it hits 90 percent with my regular use.

Just be aware that bump charging as it's called, can reduce the life of your battery over time.
I have a sprint galaxy nexus. I went to camp for a week after turning it off on a half charge. When I came back I tried to turn it on but it immediately shut back off. I plugged it in for a couple hours and it did kind of charge, but the charge icon came on then it displayed the charging animation/battery percent for a second or so at most then rebooted into the icon, then charge animation. It keep cycling and does NOT hold a charge. When I turn it on after a little bit of charging, it says 50 or so percent battery but EVEN IF I KEEP IT PLUGGED IN it still goes down very rapidly. A charge like that goes back to 0 and shuts off within 5 minutes. I'm wondering if I actually killed the battery, or if it can be saved, or if it isn't even a battery issue but a software issue or something. Any help is greatly appreciated.:fingers-crossed:
running the 2/16 release of CM11, battery meter is acting funky, but battery life seems normal. I have no idea if it started with CM11 install or just out of the blue. couple week ago after 13 hours of running on battery I noticed the meter still said 100%, then about an hour later it said 52%, and 30 seconds later 12%, battery low warning, and 15 seconds later it did a clean power off. plugged in, powered off charging said 9%, and was 52% again in about 30 seconds.
battery still lasts all day, but I have no idea how drained it is until about an hour before it's dead. it also won't actually charge unless the meter says it's below 100%, but plugged in it also doesn't drain it more. using an app to monitor the battery, it rarely shows above 3850mv, and will hover there all day long going up and down 300mV or so, but then late in the day it'll break from 100% around 3700mv and the % starts dropping.
so, what's going on here?
so, left on charger overnight (as I do every night), status app said USB power on but discharging. came to work, plugged it in (as I sometimes do), battery said 100%, again USB power and discharging.
unplugged to go to lunch, 54%. sat down to eat, 65%. few minutes later, 70%. from there it started dropping at a normal rate. used it heavily all through lunch, only went to 58%, and seems to be charging normally now as well. I'm so confused... it's been wrong for at least 2 weeks strait through multiple charges and reboots.
What about 'calibrating' the battery?
if it does it again I'll to find time to drain it and then fully charge it powered off, but with an inaccurate reading of what the charge is it was very difficult to fit that into my schedule.
it seems to have calibrated itself now, as it's been fine all weekend.
so the questions is now: what caused it, and why did it fix itself some weeks later? I certainly didn't do anything anywhere near a calibration cycle.

I'd say it takes less than an hour to drop from 100 to 90% without basically any use. Often I can't even hit 100% when charging. More like 99/98% max. If it does charge to 100%, it stays there for a couple minutes tops, even if just on standby. Which leads me to my next issue...

What is shown is just what "looks like" a full battery charged icon at all times, and the screen does not dim at any point during charge. I actually have two Pixel 2 XLs in front of me and they both do this! Is this a known issue?

It may be that the battery is not fully charged when the phone is telling you it is 100%. When using Accubattery to manually benchmark the battery, I found that my phones were still taking a low charge current (as measured by AB) for 45 minutes to sometimes even one hour after the phone was reading 100%. AB will register 100% when the phone's charging circuit cuts off to zero (and notify you). Using AB for a while will also give you a very close approximation of the remaining capacity of your battery relative to a new battery. When my 2XL was new, I was getting just over 100% (~103%). A year later, it is in the high 90's.
Thanks for the tip on Accubattery. I am going to give that a try for a while. So have you been charging up to 100% regularly in spite of what's recommended by this app?

Yes, I turn the 80% alarm crap off and leave it on the charger all night. It is fully charged before I go to bed but I leave it on the charger all night. I use AB for bench marking my battery's capacity and it's real good at that... if you start from when AB says your battery is full. You will see it converge to a % capacity after only 2-3 full discharges. I'm just guessing but I think you are not completely filling the battery to it's full capacity. At least using AB for a while will a) provide you with your battery's true capacity wrt a new battery, and b) will rule out you not charging up fully as your mystery 100-90% quick-drop. Please do report back. :good:
