[Easy ROOT] S6 edge plus Marshmallow 6.0.1 - Galaxy S6 Edge+ General

Here is the easy way to ROOT your Galaxy S6 edge plus with Marshmallow:
Download TWRP for S6 edge plus: (I mean Compatible)
https://dl.twrp.me/zenlte/
Download SuperSU V2.68 BETA or latest (2.78 Stable its OK)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/supersu
Copy SuperSU to your phone
Remember to enable debugging mode and unlock device
Now flash TWRP via Odin (AP), remeber to unmark "auto reboot" in option tab
Restart to Recovery (Vol Up + Home + Pwr)
Flash SuperSu from TWRP (latest version, 2.68 was latest at the time of the post not now)
If You have tried other options could be posible that You have to re flash Marshmallow again and repeat the procedure.
I can conffirm It works
ROOT - 100%
SELINUX - intact
Battery - Testing but looking good. (Depends of your ROM and Kernel if You go beyond Stock )

I flashed TWRP but i have bootlop,. But TWRP from note 5 dr.ketan thread is fine..

You can't flash the S6 Edge Plus recovery with the marshmallow bootloader. I think you need to flash a old bootloader first.

UPDATE: PHONE GET "Unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped." WITH NOTE 5 RECOVERY. DON'T TRY THIS WITH NOTE 5 RECOVERY.

Yup..root works perfect mate .. strange [emoji1] .maybe a different way, first i flash Cf-autoroot for my Sm-G928k and then flash note 5 TWRP revovery,

I still recommend Auto-Root by CF.

uninstall supersu apk from your device
All the problems supersu 2.65 app in the markets
install beta super su with twrp
good root
no lag
there is no supersu apk icon, but no problem

Auto Root includes 2.68 apk.

No need for old BootLoader

yes I can confirm. You don't need to flash the old boot loader. I also flashed CF-Autoroot first, boot it up once and then straight to flashing TWRP (via Odin).
Phone rooted and appears smooth. Battery life yet to be determined but at least my phone isn't overheating as it was with SuperSu v2.65.

If you do it correclty you will have full functional SuperSu, phone isnt getting hot and battery is ok (Still cycling to see, and I think that a custom kernel will help but is ok)
If you dont have a SuperSu icon or is showing a old version maybe You had tried other solutions, in that case could be possible that You need to reflash MM to stock re try my way
I confirm full root access, other method gave me root access to apps but could not moddify system files; This way give You full root.

Can't load custom Recovery

Hi, I have the optimus g pro E980 and im having the following problem:
So i have a dillema with my custom recovery. I am trying to flash Beanstalk, but i had a problem with installing cwm. Rom manager's cwm an twrp wont work, it just has the android with his chest open and a red "!" triangle on him. goo manager's open recovery script says there is no recoveries found. I tried freeGee but the app wont load properly to use it. I have downloaded the madmack's updated TWRP and the modem to go with it but Idk how to install the zip on it without the custom recovery.
My root is successful as I followed the guide for the chinese root program since I had the 4.1.2 version of android. Sorry I sound nubbish, im just having trouble doing this since the rom manager failed me

How did you return to stock, via KDZ? if so you are unrooted and have to root again. Installing freegee without root will give errors.

I don't think ftm mode can be entered into with cwm present. I tried just now, with twrp, and could not enter into ftm.
Have you looked into using flashtools to flash stock image files? I don't know the ins and outs of that specific to this device, just an idea.

The only way to install a custom recovery on the e980 is by installing FreeGee, our boot loader is locked and the only way to bypass that is by installing FreeGee after you are rooted. You need to return back to stock using LG flashtools and start over again, once you are done with the restore, then you root and finally FreeGee, and you should be able to flash anything you like.
Hope it helps.

Does towelroot trip the knox counter?
I saw someone say it does not. It preserves the stock recovery so it makes sense that it wouldn't. But if you plan on using a custom recovery or kernel it won't matter as that would trip it anyway.

Towelroot installed with No problems on my AT&T SGH-i747 Galaxy S3 with the new 4.4.2 update. See screenshots below.
Does not affect Knox Warranty Bit! I am staying with factory recovery mode.
so i've tripped my knox, and towelroot says it's incompatible. any suggestions?
Towelroot will only work for NE6 firmware on the I747M. The exploit it uses was patched in NF1/NF2.
you can try cf autoroot, or just flash recovery then flash SuperSU.
I have tried to root my phone, I747M, Canadian, 4.4.2 version, with SRSRoot, it says that process is complete and that everything is OK but root checker says that phone isn't rooted and Superuser icon can't be found anywhere. I tried Towelroot few minutes ago, it says that my phone isn't currently supported. Dunno what to do any more...
No idea what srsroot is... Just flash a supersu update package from my sig. Flash in recovery.

Recovery won't stay flashed after reboot. Twrp 2.6.3.0 and 2.8 if I don't let phone finish booting into ROM after flashing I can access twrp but there's no storage. Won't mount any partitions, data/system/cache or external/internal SD. If I do let it finish reboot into ROM, then shut down and boot into recovery it reverts back to stock recovery. Towel root and cf auto root both are unsuccessful as well as Kingo. Any help please?
Also tried cwm recovery. Same deal as twrp
Flash recovery again. Use its built in file manager to delete or rename these files and recovery will stay after rebooting.
/system/recovery-from-boot.p
/system/etc/indtall-recovery.sh
Try to mount partitions again. If it fails, go to advanced and copy log to sd. Then attach it here. Do the same if flashing the rom fails.
You may want to try cwm or philz recoveries too.

Ok, thanks. I'm heading home from work n I'll try what u suggested, altho I don't think I'll be able to modify and files, since nothing mounts but I will try. Also definitely won't be copy the log to SD if it won't mount, but could still probably pull it thru adb. Have tried twrp and cwm neither will mount. Will update this post after I try. Thanks
Good point! Sorry bout that! Have you tried philz recovery?

Wrong title. I meant I747M not I747. Anyways, is it possible to just downgrade the NF1 or NF2 kernel to the NE6 kernel then root via towel root then put back the NF1 or NF2 kernel after its rooted?

I think that this is the link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/supersu/wip-android-6-0-marshmellow-t3219344
If I read Chainfire's notes correctly, this is only for systems running Marshmallow, which would let us out for a while. But....
Once Samsung updates our OS to Marshmallow or they get CM 13 working on our phones (currently a work in progress) this could allow us to use Android Pay on a rooted phone.

That is the key question. Also, would Google detect the phone as being rooted.
For the Knox part, someone with a "virgin" phone would need to test. Both Joe and I have already rooted using the current method, so Knox is already tripped.

Has anyone tried rooting with this method and trying samsumg pay?
Decided to give this a try. Odin flashed OL1. Booted OL1 with no problem. Odin flashed TWRP, without reboot. Rebooted directly into TWRP and flashed SU beta 2.65. It booted without problem with root access. When I go into SU, it says there is an update available, but I just cancel out.
I was hoping android pay would work as I could never get it to work except stock unrooted. I started android pay and got the message "android pay cannot be used." I realized I needed to unroot in SU. I did that and still get the same message.
EDIT: Tried it again. Odined OL1, rebooted and android pay worked fine. Odined TWRP, booted into TWRP, fine. Rebooted into rom, bootlooped at Samsung logo, over and over. Rebooted into recovery and flashed SU 2.65. Rebooted into rom with no problem. Android Pay no longer works.

For those asking about whether this root method trips knox or not. Yes this will trip knox. Anytime you use odin to flash non official Samsung firmware/software then it forever trips knox. Therefore flashing any custom recovery will absolutely trip knox... forever.
Samsung and Android pay apps will not work on rooted devices. Period. The pay apps are intended for official factory software for obvious reasons. Security is the main focus with these types of apps that deal with your personal banking/credit card information. Hence a rooted device is not considered "secure".
using this method and my S6 is rooted without custom kernel which i prefer.
however, it seems like i cant use titanium backup to restore any backed up apps. Titanium app just runs endlessly.

This may be a weird question, but we don't have a stock kernel to flash. Would there be a way to make a zip of a stock kernel and then use this to get root? I'd like to have a custom ROM but with the stability of a stock Kernel. This is the first phone I can think of that I've owned that didn't have a stock kernel with root.

OP3 cannot boot - only black screen

Hi,
I have rooted OP3 and trying to update to OOS 3.2 from 3.1.3
i download flashable signed zip package 3.2.0 from this thread.

After updating to OOS 3.2 i am trying to root again the device. I flashedTWRP and it was successful.
But i think my mistake is that i didnt check if the bootloader become locked again or not. after flashing TWRP, i reboot the phone using volume down + power button. It didnt start up at all, only black screen ?
can somebody suggest what should i do for this problem.

If you've lost your custom recovery after flashing a ROM, I'm assuming that you didn't root immediately afterwards?
In that case, you won't be able to use Flashify and your only option is to wait until you have access to a PC.
You should flash twrp after flashing any rom. Then reboot to recovery to check if it works. Official roms flash official recovery...

Actually it requre root access. Do you know how to get root access without pc
You could give Kingroot (not Kingoroot) a try. I used to use it on old devices and it does work from time to time. Beware that it does contain a lot of bloat and is suspected to datamine its users. If it successfully roots your phone, I would advise you to clean flash your ROM again after flashing a custom recovery just to make sure it doesn't linger. It it fails to root, then just delete the app (it shouldn't be able to install anything malicious without root access).

Not working..bro
I would suggest not to take too much risk with rooting without the access to PC. If by chance, something goes wrong, like bootloop or something, you'll be screwed big time.
