I would like to root the at&t xperia play if some one can help.

Can't unlock AT&T Play
Just go the AT&T play, and can't unlock the bootloader using the instructions on here nor on the official sonyericson instructions. Basically, can't get into fastboot mode at all, using search button and usb plugin as instructed.
There are two dudes on there forums that can do the bootloader unlock. I think its like $24usd. I'm gonna do mine payday (Friday). Pretty sure once you unlock the bootloader, the root should be easy. Look in the general section those dudes are in there.

Can he also do AT&T?
yes he can, he just did it for me last night. Was fast and easy, he even helped root it and answered any other questions i had.
Do i have to physically send the phone?
I am new to android (jumping off the iphone train) but i was under the impression that it wouldn't be hard to root the device myself.
I'm hoping to be quickly corrected here.

You don't have to send your phone. You install a few software needed for him to remotely do all the stuff in front of your eyes. And you open the back cover of the phone, link two points with a paper clip or something like that. A lot of people have done it and I haven't seen a single complaint (except for some people who think this is a ripoff and want it free).
The problem is that there are a few versions of "lock", carrier sim-lock, locked bootloader, not being able to use fastboot. But this method unlocks everything in a few minutes.
Jinx13 also does bootloader unlocking for like 15 bucks

I plan on picking up my phone tomorrow.
Thanks for all the suggestions guys
I have PMed Alejandrissimo and I am hoping this phones bootloader can be unlocked. I have AT&T Xperia Play(R800At) and the bloatware is killing me(and lack of freedom). Phone is brand new & it will be a shame to have to return for Atrix. I will pay the money as long as future updates dont re-lock bootloader, sim, & take root from me & I dont have to keep paying.

I have an R800at that he unlocked yesterday. Also got root going and will remove bloat this weekend. He can certainly help you out.
Hi, as the title already says, can anybody tell me how to remove the simlock, so that I can use every simcard with my Wildfire S?
thx
Read the stickies before you post. Questions don't go here.

Numero Uno........questions in the general section.....
Second......... to remove sim-lock use an XTC-CLIP..... if you don't know, its a hardware used to remove the NAND lock as well as removes the sim-lock
there is no other option, which can done by myself?
(I dont have such a clip...)
Sorry i dont know of any other way........and please remember to post questions in the genereal section
Sim-lock can be disabled by changing CID to all 1's [can't remember if its six or eight of them]. Then just put in an alien sim . Radio S-off can be achieved with xtc clip; which enables you to change CID [if you know what you're doing] but lets say you wanted to see if the tmo would work on at&t sim... You'd need to either make the mod, be in good-standing with your carrier [call in and request code], or pay for code off the internet.
Hope that helps, and these guys are right.. questions start in general

are you 100% sure about this??? i am aware that unlock codes change the cid to htc__01 but is changing the cid to supercid removes all simlock?? just that easy??
Shall I prove this by sim unlocking to a prepaid at&t sim on a tmo wildfire s? I am sure unless something has changed. But just bc I've done it with a different phone, don't take my word for it... Read it for yourself. Fairly common knowledge; wikipedia has even published the method

I am Confused by this logic, if this was the case then why after gaining s-off and super cid would the guys over at the sensation forums then post up methods to remove sim lock as well......
Afaik the cid only controls firmware locks and not sim locks. I don't mean to question your logic, I just want to be sure, as I have been trying to remove sim lock from a different device for quite some time and if it was this easy I would kick myself

A sim lock is a firmware lock in my twisted logic world. It is sim interface locked down to carrier. SuperCarrierID makes sense to my twisted logic in attempting to unlock carrier locked firmware, but I may be wrong. Radio s-off.. that one I have trouble with classifying [firmware or soft lock; the radio itself is firmware controlled (and typically unlocked) by software].. bootloader [i'd consider a soft lock]. Now, that is probably wrong; just what's in my head.
I'll test the logic with [my tmo/gsm] wildfire s come the 25th and report back. [currently using marvelc/vm usa with no sim].

with cdma, I have a development ruu which has supercid. Also, if you needed to go long way.. you'd get your aaa & ha keys through dumps, and rewrite supercid.
with gsm, the old xtc clip can unlock it.. or perhaps pursue similar info for long way.

will you accept me deepest apologies ?
No apologies necessary but you need to understand that every phone is different and they all have their own methods of doing things.. If you don't want a worthless brick in your hands then you should stick to your own device forums.
Continuing to post here asking for help doesn't do any good

Same here. Love the phone, BTW.
Why so slow on this phone?? usually other high end phones have their own forum before the phone even gets released

Looks like we have a thread to discuss it now. Thanks OP
I cant wait for some development on this awesome new phone, I love it.
I've asked some mod to make a section, he answered that has put it on the pending list for other mods to oversee. Me think we must create a topic in http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=240 section for our demand to be seen faster
They say if you bring to AT&T your old phone and buy G Pro with contract they'll sell it for only $100 instead of $200
Rooted G Pro
I was able to root my AT&T G pro using the same method for the Optimus G. Although I haven't been able to unlock the bootloader through FreeGee yet.

After you root you can install the ClockWorks Mod recovery from an apk app from the international version at the following link;
http://optimusforums.com/threads/optimus-g-pro-how-to-get-clockworkmod-cwm-and-make-a-backup.7666/
I installed it and did a backup already
I assume there will be more like "TWRP" for our phone in the near future
Stll waiting for bootloader unlock, uploaded image to Freegee.
Thanks again for the root info. I can confirm it is working for me as well as the Xposed framework. I've been playing around with the dpi settings and I can't believe how sharp everything is even after lowing down the dpi. One thing I don't like about the screen is that I have some light bleeding near the edge of the display. Nothing major but just a little annoying when the screen is showing a black image.
I can confirm as well that the Optimus G root method worked without any problems on my OG Pro.

I am considering jumping from the Samsung Galaxy Note to the Optimus G Pro and have been looking for the forums myself. Wanted to read what I could about the device before making the jump. I really want this device. See that Root is already confirmed to be working so that is a start. Don't need much else after that as I can figure it out from there.

It's been three months since the G3 has been released and we still don't have a unlocked boot loader. I'm new to this device and not all familiar with previous LG models so my question basically, is this normal for a LG device to take this long to get a unlocked boot loader?
I've had many Samsung/HTC devices and don't recall waiting this long for the phone to take off on development. I do really like the phone and it is a very nice phone but for me not being able to flash kernals, rooms, etc is disappointing. Would like to hang on to the phone but I'm just not sure of how future development will turn out. Just my 2 cents.

The G2s bootloader was never unlocked but an exploit to install custom Roms and kernels was found. HTC and Sony allow bootloader unlocking from their own website. Will there be a G3 boootloader unlock? Who knows but I wouldn't hold my breath.
