Hi Guys,
I tried rooting my Marhsmallow LG G4 now and I couldn't get passed the step where you type in "ID" in accordance with this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/orig-development/root-tmo-vzw-intl-variants-soon-root-lg-t3164765.
I read somewhere that it was because I upgraded to MarshMallow.
Now - I want to know - If I downgrade to Lollipop can I follow the above root again and it will work?
Thanks!
Yeah.its possible. I returned lollipop from mm using LG up. Used to inject root and I'm using currently my g4 with root access.my recommend try to inject root. You don't need to open bootloader lock.

I tried to load kdz which download lg-phone-firmware.com with LG flash tool but it did not helped.I tried load lg up then I returned to LL.I didn't get any problem.when you back to LL from MM and root LL.you will continue to get OTA update if you dont install a custom recovery But you cant install OTA update.you will get OTA but you can not install.it warn you that 'your device has root access' etc.you can not root MM KDZ right now without unlocking bootloader

You can just downgrade to kitkat, root and install TWRP
Download the KDZ File You need
Flash using LG Flash Tool and follow the tutorial
Then root using purpledrake
How to downgrade to kitkat?

do i have to unroot in order to update ?
what about updating my rooted g3 through lg pc suite? would that work?
would this method work : http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/guide-unroot-ota-using-lg-pc-suite-pc-t2802286
or is there any other way to do it without having to unroot?
What model of G3 do you have, and do you have TWRP installed?
d855 .. international 32 gb model
no TWRP.. only supersu which i just uninstalled
Same question.Do i need to unroot my device ?
And what about custom rom ? Cloudy cant be updated to Marshmallow right ?
that moment when even xda forum can't give u a clear answer !!
Sometimes using an OTA works. If not, flash KDZ to stock and update via PC Suite.

You have to flash stock TOT or KDZ to get official update. please do follow this post to update your phone http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2785089
no need to flash anything...
update through lg pc suite worked just fine.
and i also found that it includes "fix upgrade errors".. which should get ur phone to perfect stock shape, without having to delete any files.

well theres bootloader locked G4 that cant be unlocked and the ones the can...
so youll need to know wich one you got.
you can root MM 6.0 only with unlocked bootloader....
you can root and install xposed with locked bootloader but on LP.. and you need to push a rooted system image...
but youll also need to know if you can downgrade to lollipop.. on mine thers antirollback V2 and V3. so going into latest firmware 20o tmobile will get me V3 and i cant no longer downgrade as LP is V2 this will brick phone..

Ah yes about that. Here is the guide i used to root without system flash. http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-g4/development/stock-h811-20i-images-kdz-flashable-t3308227
Alright so i got me a LG G3 and decided i wanted to root it but realized i was on software verison D85130e so there was no root so i found a thread that said downgrade using KDZ well i follwed the insructions to downgrade to D851020E 00 and when i use LG flash tool 2014 it does bot recognize my phone also it will start doing the upgrade stop at 3% pop a error up and try to restart . Now my question is there a way too root or downgrade D85130e ?
thanks in advance
The only way your going to downgrade from 30E is by using LG UP to flash official TOT file. Then from there you will be on KitKat 4.4.2 Google search for the Official build from this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-lg-g3/general/firmware-t-mobile-lg-g3-t2818667
Yes thank you i actually figured it out
I did the same as you, I cannot root 30e, I downgrade to 30d with lg flash tool 2014 and the kdz. then temp root, then twrp, then root.
Downgrade LG G3 from D85130e to D85130d flashing KDZ with LGUP

I managed to successfully downgrade D85130e to D85130d flashing KDZ with LGUP and I'm still on MM 6.0. I've attached a screenshot of the Software info after flashing kdz.
I haven't yet attempted root, so for the time being I disabled OTA Updates by entering 277634#*# into the dialer. From there select Wifi Test, OTA then Disable.
For those that would like the links to the files I downloaded, I will update with those later tonight.
Have u guys tried using kingoroot to temporarily root it?

I used NewKingroot ver. 4.9.6. It got me initially got me temp root, then Full root after flashing TWRP, installing LG-D85130D-Flashable.Boot -AUTOREPACK.zip & SuperSu.
Why? If you flash supersu in twrp then you'd have a rooted 30e!

Based upon what I read on other threads, I had the impression it was not currently possible to root 30e. I saw several posts advising to downgrade to 30d because root was only temp with 30e.
I am now on 30d but I suppose could always return to 30e and root again if I feel the need.
The main reason I rooted is so i could remap my MOGA Gamepad to play touch only games with Tincore Keymapper or BT/USB Joystick Center but now I need to find a compatible ROM and Kernel.
Refer to my thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmo...ck-d851-30e-kdz-flashable-zips-t3478560/page1
Yea when i first tryed it i could not get the flash tool to work with 30e and i realized you can only go back so far so i used lg flash tool 2014 and flashed to 30d and temp rooted with kingroot downloaded flashify and flashed TWRP then went into TWRP flashed the Autorepack theb SU cause going throough ADB shell would not flash TWRP correctly for some reason. But i think it is because i did not flash the AUTOREPACK in twrp only SuperSu and that was messing me up cause i thoigh adb shell was installing the repack but i figured it out .
Friends, i'm trying to downgrade my g3 to 30D and when I try to flash through LG Flash tool 2014, nothing happens. I don't see any update progress in my phone and in the tool, it is stuck at 10%. appreciate your help here.

Hello first of all I have never tried rooting/downgrading a device before. AFAIK there is no way to root my h818p v20h device running android 6.0 but is there any chance to downgrade it to lollipop and root?
of course, you can downgrade and flash a .img rooted.
