Why won't adb work? - Galaxy S 4 Mini Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My phone is rooted and under control of SuperSu. I have write powers under RootExplorer and other apps. However, I cannot execute any adb commands, I get "device not found".

your phone drivers must be the problem

You are inside of the device shell. Adb won't work like that[emoji14]

As it turns out, the problem was a "secure" bootloader (?) due to having a stock rom. I used an app to induce root, but I'm still having problems push/pull.
Here's what it should look like:

Wtf

OK this is really odd, I am rooted an i have an unlocked bootloader, it seems that superuser, gives access to shell.. like 1.5 times per second,

And sometimes I get this
out of nowhere
Temp unrooting does fix this but comes back after a while.. so what's wrong ?

That happened to me too. I think it was an app trying to upload a log. I could be wrong though. I just selected google drive always and it went away.

Reflash the su binaries for JB. They're laying around here somewhere.

install supersu from play store and manually uninstall superuser.

Shell repeatedly requesting root, what does it mean?

The shell is repeatedly requesting root, like every second. What does that mean and is it normal. The only root apps installed are adfree and titanium backup, and they both show up by name in the su app log.

You should be able to set SU to automatically respond and give root access. It is under settings, automatic response. You can also turn off the logging so it does not fill up with a whole bunch of accepts for the shell. I am not sure if this would cause security issues or not. As long as you do not run or do anything sketchy then you should be ok with auto allow.
There is the superSU flash able zip. That will fix the shell access issues. Its in the android development section. It works better than super user.

You've answered it by yourself. Do your own research for rooting, it's easy if you follow literally steps by steps
Funny that this root method was published 8 months before the phone even came out.

Will people STOP posting/asking/inquiring about a one-click root method? Unless it's released on HERE (which the devs said they aren't going to do) then STOP worrying about it.

Make a backup first. Then try it to see if it works. If it don't work, you could always restore your backup.

This didn't work for me. I edited the apk with a .png per the intructions TWRP read flash was succuessful. Booted up fine but when I pulled my pen out it was exactly the same old note 4 air command as it's always been. I am on Hyperdrive RC3 if that helps.

How do I remove all the "hi" crap off of this phone?

Only thing I find useful is the hiboard. The rest I'd like gone. Especially any ties to hicloud. I think hicloud, might actually be what's causing my work WiFi log in problem. It comes up in the address for some reason.

It wouldn't let me add the image in the original post

Google works best. But. You'll need ADB and knowledge of how to uninstall via adb. Unless your rooted, then it's much easier.
There is a spread sheet to go off, to remove "hi" stuff.
