If you have a stock backup, I have a stock recovery that should work for the LRA models, PM me. Since you're S-off you might take it to Bluegrass and ask them to flash it back to stock and start over again. S-off should stay after they've flashed.
I WOULD NOT use a Verizon or other LRA carrier RUU, since the radios and radio configurations are similar, but different enough that they will likely screw up your service.

hi,
can you help me with this i've messed up with my phone, didnt know its verizon, was assuming its GSM, but was unable to flash any custom rom except SkyDragon, so i thought its a firmware issue, got s-off and updated the firmware which caused radio to stop working, then figured out its verizon, flashed firmware from verizon as well but no luck, now i am not even able to flash any ROM, only AOSP or Verizon or SkyDragon intl boots the phone but then start rebooting every few minutes, radio not working so no calls no data, i am really stuck, there is not much help about this model, if there is a way to go back to stock i would like to go with that, any help would be appreciated.

I believe you installed wrong firmware which is a modded GPE firmware. That's why you can't install most of the ROM now.
You need to put correct CID/MID or at least change the CID to SuperCID 11111111 and MID 0P6B20000
It's not easy to fix your device now as you already installed some other region rcdata.img that come with the wrong firmware.
Anyway .. try again the correct Verizon firmware after change of CID/MID
You'll be able to install any Verizon based ROM but your data connection may still have problem.
Or better to install Verizon 4.4.4 firmware then restore LRA US 3.31.512.2 nandroid backup then do OTA if there is one. Restore the backup I believe you'll get wifi working .. after OTA .. your data connection should be restored.

sorry about that MID and CID actually was planning to go GPE so changed them but then read the forum and couldn't find a single success story of wlv going GPE so changed my mind.
CID is now super and MID is my original as you mentioned 0P6B20000
the problem is that i am unable to find the correct firmware for my phone. i spent 48 hours searching for it but no luck.
and dont have nandroid as well.
btw couldn't understand the code you have sent.
can you please help me with finding the correct firmware and nandroid or whatever is needed to get this phone working regardless of the version. have no problem going to the older version as well.
Thanks

Didn't realize you were GSM since you are trying to flash verizon firmware with a phone that has the same MID and product version.
If your phone is GSM, you could try flashing WWE/International firmware (4.16.401.10). That's what I am using on a Telus phone. MID for WWE is 0P6B10000, Telus is 0P6B16000. It works great.
I didn't change the MID, just switched to superCID and flashed the firmware. Your product version may not let it install, but it might and it won't brick you. You'll just get errors if it won't work. My product version was M8_UL_CAN and it changed to M8_UL after flashing the WWE firmware, so it might be worth giving a shot.

1. Install the 4.4.4 firmware that you can find here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=52017763&postcount=2
2. Restore the LRA_001 nandroid backup that you can find here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=58438595&postcount=14
Note : this nandroid is made with CWM and CMW recovery is included in the zip.
3. After restore, boot and check for OTA. You may not have data connection but you should have wifi connection.
4. After the OTA installation, you should get your data connection back.
Good Luck

Ok so here is the update,
After about a 100 reboots the OTA was successfully downloaded. But it won't let it flash, whenever I tried to flash it just rebooted, since the firmware didn't contain boot and recovery and I was on CWM I thought its recovery issue so flashed stok firmware and boot. It still didn't work, then flashed TWRP and tried to install OTA again, got some fingerprint error, please see the attached image.
When you restored the nandroid, do you restore the stock recovery included in the zip ?
OTA will install on stock recovery not CWM & not TWRP and not even on vzn stock recovery.
Do you still have the OTA.zip in internal storage/download folder ?
Copy that to PC, open it with 7-zip and extract out firmware.zip. Open firmware.zip and extract out the recovery.img
Flash this recovery.img. As your device is S-Off you can manually install OTA with stock recovery installed. Do you know how ? If not sure, ask .. will tell you how-to when I get to my PC. Not easy to write all these on mobile.
Or you can flash this extracted firmware.zip in ruu mode, you'll solve your data connection problem.
Then you can redo OTA installation process.

when i restored the nandroid it didn't restore the stock recovery, i flashed the stock recovery from the firmware.zip, the OTA is still in download folder, whenever i check for update it finds the existing file verifies it and prompt to install it, i did select to install it, its still just rebooting, after a couple of attempts it once booted into recovery but then without any progress it kept rebooting into recovery, after several reboots it booted again normally.
so now i have the stock recovery installed, should i rename the firmware.zip to 0P6B2000.zip and install it via hboot?
You flashed the stock recovery from which firmware.zip ? The one from VZN won't work. The one from the OTA zip will.
No .. that's wrong to rename firmware.zip to 0P6B2000.zip
Try this first :
firmware.zip is the one from OTA zip, not VZN
Put your device on bootloader/fastboot mode and connect to PC (you should see fastboot usb highlighted in red).
Put the firmware.zip in your fastboot folder. Open a command prompt from that folder.
type below command :
fastboot reboot-bootloader (to make sure you're on fastboot mode)
fastboot oem rebootRUU (to put the device in RUU mode)
fastboot flash zip firmware.zip (flashing the firmware.zip)
You'll see : FAILED (remote: 90 hboot pre-update! please flush image again immediately)
repeat fastboot flash zip firmware.zip (to complete firmware installation)
fastboot reboot-bootloader
Check your bootloader now written OS - 4.21.512.4
Now reboot (your data connection should work now) and redo OTA process
EDIT : can you upload that OTA zip to your GDrive or Dropbox and PM me the link. That will help many people.

ok i did flash the firmware in RUU mode, i can see the latest version in bootloader mode, then rebooted the phone but now its stuck in bootloop,.
managed to get to bootloader again by holding volum and power button while it was rebooting.
cant get to home screen.
yes i will upload the OTA and share the link.
Install CWM and restore the backup again ..
After you already boot and run setup ... copy the OTA zip to root of your internal storage, not in any folder.
boot to bootloader and install the stock recovery from that LRA firmware.zip
select hboot then recovery .. you'll get black screen or red triangle .. press & hold volume up button and press power once .. this will get you to stock recovery menu
select install from phone storage
select the OTA zip
install
reboot

ok installed CWM, restored the nandroid, still rebooting and not signals.
flashed the stock recovery (the one from OTA) tried to install the OTA again, same problem rebooting again n again, managed to get into recovery once, but then stuck in boot loop on recovery, managed to get into bootloader by the volume and power button.
There's nothing much that I can offer to help. Your rebooting problem I believe due to motherboard cannot take the heat. I want to say this earlier but let you try all the possibilities first, you may have damaged motherboard that is why previously you have restarting problem when using your device.
Let your phone to cool down ... then try again. If still the same, need to send it to repair centre.
Hello,

Before i messed it up it was unlocked and rooted and S-ON, then i wanted to install OTA and i flashed firmware.zip extracted from OTA zip file (bad idea). Now i'm unable to get my phone working...
What i can do:
-enter bootloader
-fastboot commands
-enter recovery
What I've tried and didn't work:
-flash stock recovery, lock, flash RUUk44.zip via fastboot (signature verify fail)
-flash stock recovery, lock, flash lollipop OTA (signature verify fail)
-flash TWRP, restore k44 backup (bootloop after reboot from recovery)
The question is, if I would somehow obtain firmware from k44 stock, is it possible to downgrade on S-ON using "fastboot flash zip" and then restore backup or flash RUU?
I cannot find magical RUU.exe for this model there are only zip files...
Guys maybe someone can dump kitkat firmware i would be grateful...
I appreciate any idea, please help me solve it

The first zip ist the europa version kk 4.4. for 51 ul.
Rename it as OPFJIMG.zip and put it on your external sd car. boot into bootloader and let it run. I hope it works for you!
By the way, is it possible for you to upload and share your complete OTA zip? Would be wonderfull.

Zip method does not work for me neither from fastboot nor from sdcard. In fastboot i get "signature verify fail", via sdcard it says sth like "fail due to large image failed".
I'm now downloading exe file from your link.
edit: RUU.exe from link above failed - stuck at 4%(checking header or sth like that)
I will upload OTA zip this night.
Maybe i don't understand something, but i wonder why RUU zip doesn't contain firmware.zip like OTA update package.. ?
Good luck and thank you for the upload bro!

Do you have the OTA uploaded ?
Today it was possible for me to install the orange version spain from the ruu.zip what i mentioned to you!
I was following this tut:
"You can extract the ROM.zip from any RUU to install via ZIP
Start the RUU and once at the first main screen click Start>Run and type
%temp%
now, find the newest folder and in there will be a ZIP file called Rom.zip - copy this to your desktop and rename it to OPFJIMG.zip Now copy this to your SD card and start the phone in HBOOT (turn it on whilst holding volume down). It will find the file and start the update. Just follow the instructions...
It will wipe your phone, though"
Than with the zip on the sdcard i started fastboot and adb on my computer, i entered the command "fastboot oem lock", the message "Unlocked" and Security Warning" appeared, than i pressed the On/Off button, it changed to bottloadermodus, and voila, it was eating the zip!
Only this zip was good enough, the other zips was not running, not the europe version and not the english orange version. But with the spanish version ist was ok. But only with the extracted Rom.zip. When i started the Ruu.zip it stops the update Process after some %. But the Rom.zip from the same ruu works without bad messages.
Now i have a clean firmware on y desire 820n 51 ul.
The languages in this version are: Deutsch, English, Español, Francais, Portugues.

Did you flash this onto OS-2.10.401.2??
It looks like i have to wait for lollipop RUU and/or for S-OFF possibility.... am I correct?
Maybe i can try flash separate partition dumps from FW 1.29 (radio, rcdata, etc...)?

S-OFF would solve the problem, because you can flash (upgrade and downgrade) than every os-version for the desire 820.
Of cource, you can try to flash dumps from 1.29 if this was your original firmware. Maybe it works.

No, i did not.
I think there are 2 maybe 3 options:
- Wait for s-off (or pay for it now), then downgrade
- Wait for lollipop RUU for our current firmware
- Try to flash twrp backup of someone's lollipop - but im not sure if twrp works on llpop already, does it?
- Maybe try to flash firmware partitions separately, dumped from someone's d820n, but i don't know if it's even possible to reflash device that way. This can also be a last step to totally brick
I made s-off and cid-11111111 also flash with ( RUU_A51_UL_K44_DESIRE_SENSE60_Orange_ES_1.28.75.2_Radio_01.01.010_U10305041_08.01.41222_2_release_421565_signed 0
this ruu.Flash successful but still hang on logo and restart.
hello, can you share the Orange_es .zip file?

Guys maybe someone can dump kitkat firmware i would be grateful...
I appreciate any idea, please help me solve it

I had twrp recovery before And every time I get any update I replace the twrp with stock recovery and it always worked for me until today
Any solution please?????
What did you use TWRP for, or better asked what did you change on your system? Has your system been rooted or the system.img been manipulated in any kind?

If it is rooted the OTA won't be installed as the system partition and thus it's md5 has been changed by mounting it r/w and flashing SuperSU. This is as google and HTC following this guidelines changed the OTA delivery to a block based system where the routine checks if the system has been untouched prior to installing it. You got to restore the untouched image of the system partition for your device. After this you could flash the stock recovery and install the OTA.

Most likely NO.
The above user(s) used TWRP backups to remove changes that were done by root.
Since you never rooted (from the sounds of it) you don't have the same problem.

Thanks redpoint73. So, what do you recommend me to do now? Because, the problem started with the android notification of the update and then the system crashed. Search for a ROM and try to install it?

First of all, you need to understand that ROM and RUU are two very different things.
Also, nobody can advise you the proper RUU is, without knowing some basic information. Namely, do fastboot getvar all, and post the output (delete IMEI and serial number before posting).
Hey everyone,
I am trying to get my M8 to stock (been stuck at this for about 10 days now, tried everything). I am from India. There was some problem and I accidentally have a phone now with no OS and TWRP. I have installed stock recovery and plan to flash the ROM/RUU. Some details of my device:
Software status: Modified
Unlocked S-ON
C:\Android>fastboot getvar all

I would really appreciate it if you could guide me how to get my phone to stock OS. The ROM that I should prefer etc. I have been going through a lot of forums and ended up being utterly confused.
Thanks in advance for the help!

Sorry, this is a pet peeve of mine, but I really wish folks would stop posting they "tried everything". This literally tells us nothing, and you should list specifically one-by-one (and in detail) what things you tried, and the results (again in detail) of each.
"Accidentally" appears to mean you unlocked the bootloader, then flashed an very old, obsolete version TWRP (which causes the main version to be blank) then decided it was a good idea to wipe the OS (system)? Again, you need to tell us exactly what steps you took to get to this point.
My next advice to you, is to only do things that are specifically instructed for you to do in your situation. Don't guess or do things without fully understanding them. As your present situation seems to indicate you don't have a very good understanding of what you are doing, and only making matter worse by proceeding with insufficient knowledge.

RUU will only work if its version 6.15.720.2
Your version (CID and MID) is rather obscure, so I'm not sure whether such RUU exists or not. If not, your best bet is to get TWRP back on the phone, and restore the stock nandroid 6.15.720.2 using the files and instructions on the following thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/help/tutorial-how-to-stock-stock-twrp-t3086860
Also, flashing stock recovery is not needed to RUU; and not helpful in your current situation (you'll probably need to go back to custom recovery TWRP).

Sorry about the shortened version, just though it might be too big and unnecessary. Okay here goes what happened. I moved the whatsapp media to my laptop (at this time the device was unrooted and running stock android M updated over OTA). After the move, the device was stuck at the splash screen with HTC logo. After this I gave the phone to a service centre (not official HTC) and asked them to NOT root and put stock OS and get the phone working. What they did was, rooted it and installed a custom ROM with TWRM recovery (which was very screwed up, as in the camera kept crashing and I couldn't even use that). So, I decided to get it back to stock ROM and sense UI.
So what I did was looked up some thread (not sure which one) and went ahead to do a wipe through recovery. Here I did the mistake of wiping everything and so the device doesn't have any OS at the moment. The phone is still getting stuck in HTC logo now (obviously as it doesn't have an OS). I have tried to do the following:
1. To flash the boot only using fastboot flash boot and fastboot flash zip commands. The version I tried was stock 3.35.720.1_recovery.img. This didnt seem to work.
2. Next tried to go to usb fastboot mode and tried to run the RUU_M8_UL_M60_SENSE70_MR_BrightstarUS_WWE_6.12.1540.4.exe official one from the laptop. But it showed some mismatch of versions and aborted.
3. Then I read that stock could only be flashed on S-ON devices if we relock the bootloader. So used the fastboot oem relock command to relock bootloader and then tried both the above but didn't work.
4. Next saw somewhere that it is pretty impossible to flash on a locked S-ON device. So went to htcdev and got the bootloader unlocked again.
5. Downloaded a stock image 3.35.720.1 Stock Unrooted. Read that we need lower or same stock recovery to flash the same and so flashed the stock recovery of the same version. Next extracted the .win001 and .win002 files using the tar command and finally put them along with META_INF folder and boot.img files into a zip file. The image had the contents of the system folder and tried to flash this using fastboot and also through the stock option "Update from SD card". Got error "E: footer is wrong. E: update signature verification failed".
This is the status so far. I am not sure what I should be doing anymore. Hope this helps in understanding the situation. Sorry it's so long.
Please advice what I should do now. Currently, I have stock recovery installed and no OS. I just want to have the stock sense OS on the device.
Thanks for all your time.

1. Download the 6.15.720.2 RUU.zip : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=66309774&postcount=20
2. relock the bootloader with command - fastboot oem lock
option 1 - if you have a microsd
1. rename the downloaded RUU.zip as to 0P6BIMG.zip
2. put it on root of your microsd not in any folder
3. on bootloader select hboot - it will scan the zip and ask you to update.
4. select volume up to update
5. once completed, delete the zip from microsd
option 2
1. Download htc_fastboot.exe : https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8L4pkbzdlR3eTlJSjdKVEdHX1U/view
2. put both htc_fastboot.exe and the 0P6BIMG.zip in your fastboot folder
3. run below commands :
fastboot reboot-bootloader (reboot to bootloader to ensure the connection is good)
fastboot oem rebootRUU (put the device in RUU mode)
htc_fastboot flash zip 0P6BIMG.zip (to install RUU - read it is htc_fastboot not fastboot)
Once complete - fastboot reboot
run setup .. done
i just bought HTC M8 Days ago but it was pre rooted and on the 5.0.1 i cant update it to marshamllow
it S-Off and when i try to update it says you have the latest update
Software number
4.18.708.12
i tried to install OTA Flash via stock recovery but i got error
how i updaate manually or enable OTA's
dont wanna root now
please help me here
You can't install OTA on rooted ROM ... it needs pure non-rooted stock ROM.
You can try to restore only the system partition from non-rooted backup.
You can get the backup and stock recovery for 4.18.708.12 here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/help/tutorial-how-to-stock-stock-twrp-t3086860
i deleted root before doing any thing
can i do it without rooting or unlocking bootloader because i dont know how to do it on HTC Phone and those CID and stuff really bug me out
itried flashing ota with stock recovery got this error
http://prntscr.com/bivh4o
whats wrong here ?
Why on post #1 you said you have HKG 4.18.708.12
But in your screenshot you tried to install EU 6.12.401.4 OTA
and it failed because your stock recovery is TMOB US.
Post here fastboot getvar all result without serial & imei no.
We need to make sure the correct version that you have.

if the first cid and mid is the current now you can't flash Tmobile RUU
( there is a simple fix for this issue as you said your device is s-off but i'm afraid to say it,then you screw up )
so post the result of fastboot getvar all ( after removing serial and imei numbers ) to be certain what you need to do
and don't use an app to read cid and mid

Are you located in US and on T-Mobile network ?
If no, I suggest you to change the MID to EU MID 0P6B10000 then install EU Marshmallow RUU.
Some say once you have SuperCID, there is no need to change MID as SuperCID will override MID but in my experience that will never happen (flashing a modded firmware.zip is different as it has almost all MID in its android-info.txt). Unless you MID is SuperMID, you need to change MID to EU if you want to install EU RUU.
You can follow this guide to change MID - https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2708581
then install RUU - https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64926626&postcount=6
If yes, in US and on T-Mobile network, you need different approach.

Then go for the option that I mentioned earlier.
First - change MID
Second - install RUU
Change MID
What you need to do .. boot to bootloader and install TWRP - maybe version 2.8.7.0 will do
https://dl.twrp.me/m8/
after you install TWRP - boot to recovery
Mount - system
then open command prompt from your adb/fastboot folder
then type
adb shell
follow by
Code:
echo -ne '\x30\x00\x50\x00\x36\x00\x42\x00\x31\x00\x30\x00\x30\x00\x30\x00\x30' | dd of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p5 bs=1 seek=16384
don't write yourself the code, copy and paste
then type exit
select reboot menu, select bootloader
then install RUU
Edit : your bootloader is locked, relocked or unlocked ? If locked and relocked, you can't fastboot flash the TWRP in normal way.
Download this : https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=70439093&postcount=412
No worry about the OS no. that will be changed later once you install RUU
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip 0P6BIMG.zip
fastboot reboot-bootloader
then follow with the above to change MID
Install RUU
Follow this - https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64926626&postcount=6

Not enough info to say, for sure.
Which RUU number?
Exactly where does it get stuck? Any error messages?
After double clicking the ruu the installaion wizard pops up and after selecting the next option the installion bar goes to full and after that installion wizard vanishes and nothing happens.

RUU problems are usually on the PC end. Try a different USB port, or different cable. Try to re-install HTC Sync and HTC drivers.

Hey guys,
I trying to help out with a friend’s HTC M9, which suddenly wouldn’t boot into Android. We can still access the bootloader and download mode.
The bootloader shows:
Software status: Modified
Locked
S-ON
Security Warning
I got it into download mode and tried fastboot getvar all, the relevant output is:
product: htc_himauhl
version 1.0
version-main: 3.35.206.13
mid: 0PJA10000
cid: o2___102
I had a look in the readme thread. My friend wanted to try to save the files but it seems impossible since we can’t get adb to work and can’t boot a recovery image, since that would require unlocking the bootloader which wipes the data anyways. Is that correct?
So afterwards, we tried to re-flash the official RUU. The phone is the o2 version, and the most recent RUU I could find was
Code:
0PJAIMG_HIMA_UHL_M60_SENSE70_MR_O2_UK_3.35.206.13_Radio_01.01_U11440792_93.00.51117G_F_release_464855_signed.zip
I tried flashing the file using htc_fastboot flash zip, which failed with error 12 and some output on the phone complaining about the locked bootloader, as well as ARUWizard which resulted in the same error. Sorry I don’t have a screenshot, since I had to try it remotely.
Am I correct in thinking, that the file I downloaded should be usable to reflash the original software? It’s signed and has the same version code and was downloaded correctly with the same hash.
Not quite sure what happened there, since I don’t physically have the device. Should we try the SD-card method next?
Thanks!
at RUU Section just do sdcard method
