Hi Dottat,
Sorry for slow response, just crazy business wise here. I'm going on vacation on Sat, and don't have time to load new firmware and Rom prior to leaving. I need my phone on vacation to log-in to all my apps, while I'm away. It takes me to long to setup all accounts and apps each time I clean flash!! I'm slow!! I appreciate the offer. I have downloaded all zips already. I'm familiar with the update process (at least I was the last time I tried ) If I have issues, I'll reach out.
Thanks Again!!!

Is there an updated way to do this?
HtcOMADM_VZW.APK doesn't seem to exist any longer. Renamed the settings apk, but guessing Verizon replaced htc's with their own. (Renaming the settings one may work, but I already set the delay so I'll find out tomorrow Thanks
...on .15 software
Edit...it's back..just stopping the settings didn't work. Still digging

here's what I did (I'm on a stock rooted rom)
in system/priv-app/HtcOMADM_VZW folder, renamed HtcOMADM_VZW.apk
in system/app/HtcOADM_SettingsPlugin_VZV folder, renamed HtcOADM_SettingsPlugin_VZV.apk
in cache/fumo , removed the downladed deferred update file.... it was only 46MB I believe
reboot
I don't believe its possible to get an OTA after doing these renames, and it definitely isnt nagging as the above disables the app...
thank you...it worked. Hadn't looked in system/priv-app for the 1st file. No more annoying one day at a time delay & wondering when VZ would just do it without asking?.
From what I've read I don't think you can OTA once you make any changes to system...so...that OTA probably wouldn't have worked out well for me anywhoo?
When N comes out I'll worry about OTA, until then sense is great for me...am a little annoyed with one pic at a time for SMS...but that's a fight for another day

It isn't in anything...it is at the top of the file tree with dev/ and storage/ you need a root browser or you can use browser in TWRP.

Hi,
Just got this update this morning and not sure what changes it made (kinda hoping for new sense, with integration to htcsense.com but I don't think so)
Did any one else get this?
Does anyone know the changes that it made?
Thanks
BW
The solution is online for manual download since a month now.
Big advantage - no more 90% battery problem in the mornings.
I think this was "released" a little while ago - think there was a download link on here for it (think I read basically it was just a radio update?)
But thanks for letting me know - didn't see it on htc.com and nothing on HTC's twitter feeds - downloading and installing OTA now
Got the update too - using LeeDroid ROM though, so I didn't want to install it
Taking awhile to update... min to download, but the last 15 mins installing, rebooting, and then it booted up said "you have successfully updated to 2.29.405.2" then started counting up from 1% -> 58% so far on the htc logo...
Just finished: 9:09
Nice, update on move 25Mb needed on phone memory to update.
Just got the notification about this update this morning. I'm running a rooted, slightly modifierd Stock Rom. The update says it will upgrade the system to 2.29.405.2 and is 28,7MB big. At the bottom it says:
Update: Android Market
Haven't updated yet, since battery is low and I don't want to mess around with my perfectly working phone in the beginning of a long week.
Whats new in Android Market after update?

Do I need to clear some space and wipe some apps so this update can be installed properly?

Now if someone can just debrand it by taking out the crap apps that should have been optional like:

Google Play Movies & TV
Google Play Music

AT&T Messages
AT&TLocker
AT&T Code Scanner
AT&T FamilyMap
AT&T Hot Spots
AT&T Navigator
AT&T Ready2Go
Live TV
PDF Viewer (never worked for me since day 1 had to install Adobes version)
YP Local Searc & Gas Prices

google play & movies and play books are useful sometimes . the other i do think is just bloat . but once the phone has root , they can be remove with TB
Funny thing, when I uninstalled all the AT&T bloat with TiBu it just popped back on when I restarted... I had to just freeze it all instead, which is good enough for me.

But the system folder for a the job too

I believe this have to do with TiBu now mounting the system folder as read/write. My final straw was always to get the stock rom, delete the bloat ware inside it, then flash the bloatware free rom to the device.
Waiting on a clockwork fix
^ Agree about cwm, and even more waiting on custom jelly bean or cyanogen! :fingers-crossed:
Edit: I just struck a deal with my girlfriend, and she is going to buy my one vx and I'm getting the nexus4! I realllly liked this phone but of course always prefer a GED! Good luck to all and I'll come back around for a rom for her sometime.
the problem with not being able to keep deleted files from coming back is the boot.img, htc did this with the dna and one x in recent firmware. can this device bootloader be unlocked via htcdev?

I got notified for the update after it automatically downloaded at 11:38AM CST. It downloaded into /cache/fumo/ as OTAPkg.zip, just like the last update.

Thank You, I see on the other threads you are very helpful. I have been rooting/roming since the droid 1 but with every device it's always something new.

Sorry for the confusion but I do have that screen. Qpair tells me to updatevia the update center. So after searching xda I was under the impression that there was supposed to be an update center app on my tablet that was preloaded by LG. Then in that update center app it's supposed to have app updates for the LG apps. I will post screenshots of my error when I try to use qpair.
The update center apk should be in system/priv_app/lgupdatecenter.apk

That's okay. I expected that to be the case.
I too haven't found any app in the app drawer or apk in priv-app. What I found I searched for "update" in my file manager, plus the OTA-related one I spotted.
I'm going to do some digging into the pre-Stump'd 23A and see if I have any better luck. What I'm running now is a restored nandroid I had saved of completely stock, no SuperSU, but I didn't specifically note and I'm not sure if I had Stump'd this copy. Obviously I had to have Stump'd to get rooted in the first place, but this time around, anyway, I merely wiped the device, restored only the System (I had only backed up that and Boot) and then flashed the latest SuperSU.zip to root it but my memory is hazy on what I had done to make a nandroid on as pure stock as I could.
I've got some ideas to try a definite pre-Stump'd copy and I'll give you an update when I get anywhere.
I apologize for being so wordy. [emoji6]
I just wanted to check, you are on 23A, right?

Update: I decided to just to a factory reset. Thankfully it worked and I am at the latest firmware.
So I've tried letting this update run a couple times. Downloading for the third time as I write this. When it tries to install, it just reboots into TWRP recovery and does nothing.
