After updating to 2.3.4 cellphone keeps donwloading updated version of an app (in this case Angry Birds Season) multiple times. I already deleted the app, unnistalled but the only way to stop it seems to be deactivating any type of internet connection (wifi/3g)
Any way to fix it?
try unchecking 'automatically update' in the market page of that app
Happened to me. I uninstall update of market app. Then run market to see
Got a Headache? It's all in your Head.
I have to wait for it to finish downloading the multiple copies. It stopped after that. However, I want the app, and hoping the issue stopped I tried to install it again, but it started all over.
About the market update, the option "automatically update" is only turned on for foursquare (which I have to test again yet, was not working since last try).
Sometimes this happen due to the internet connection having intermittenly disturbance while updating which resulting having your device rescan and reupdating again and again. Or it can be also from human error as you press update button multiple times which triggered to a multiple downloads.
The last one comes from the app(Market) itself. You may try uninstalling the Market app and reinstalling it again to create new database and cache from a fresh installed.
Hi thanks!
I replaced the old market by the 3.1.3. Seems to be a bit heavier though.
I also noticed that the internet connection got a bit slower than the usual after upgrading. There is any optimisation to be done?
It also happened with me and I think it's mainly because of internet connection and pressing update multiple times just update it smoothly it will not download multiple time. It's really pain to download one update multiple time
Next time just press the update once and it will eventually updating, sometimes it take a little bit longer to start the update process so you got to be patient on this.
Internet connection normally base on your service provider(Telco) and distant between you and the transmitting tower. To optimise it, you better get the APN update direct from your service provider and stay within the coverage area..
just one thing.
Few apps internet and gps related are not working as it should, like foursquare.
How do I know if I made a full upgrade or not? Because I might want go back to 2.2.1
Hi,
I am currently using Samsung Focus Flash on AT&T network. It shows I have used 45 mbs in just over 3 days and most of them like yesterdays nights 12:48AM 21mbs are at odd times when I am at home and on wifi. I previously used Blackberry Bold 9000 and never exceeded 100mbs of usage per month. Before that I had iPhone and it too stood around 120-140mbs per month.
I mainly use it for mails and hardly any multimedia. One thing I suspect is when downloading podcasts its not considering Wifi, as other then that I can not think of any other reason as I do not use it for any video streaming like intensive activities.
I came across few threads but all from early 2011 like on engadget etc. Few suggested it has something to with Yahoo mail. I have one yahoo mail account.
To debug this for now I have turned off cellular data as will be home over the weekend. Please suggest.
Thanks

If you don't have it plugged in, you aren't on WIFI. WIFI turns off when the screen goes off unless the phone is plugged in to power.
Please ignore will monitor and update if still an issue
how are you able to tell when the data is being used?
I did notice that this month, my past bill was pretty high on usage. I usually don't ever use more than ~200 mb...this bill, i hit over a gig...don't know how
I can check minutes and data used from AT&T website as well as their mobile apps.
Thanks
It might be AT$T cheating u on ur data. I have Tmo and I don't notice any leaked data usage.
Thanks, I have done complete reset of phone and started with minimal settings to narrow down to leak if possible. Does any one of you download podcast directly to phone ? As that is only thing which would have bandwidth, but when downloading I was always connected to Wifi so should not have been charged to Cellular data.
Yea there is a setting that will make it only download podcasts over WiFi.
Downloading Podcasts

I download a lot of podcasts to my phone, using several different Apps including "Bringcast", "Podcasts Pro", and "Podceiver". As someone else pointed out, if your phone is not plugged into usb or wall charger and receiving a charge, as soon as your screen turns off, the download will revert to cellular data and stop using your Wifi.

I think i know what was my jump in data...that damn game Fragger. I remember the install was 85 MB's and it wasn't coming down correctly. I kept having to retry the download and it was telling me to get on wifi,,which I was. I bet those hiccups caused the jump for me last month
After rest usage went down but still between 12-1 in morning I see few mbs used. I have connected phone to fiddler2 to monitor the network usage, and shut down cellular data. Will update my findings if anything serious.
So I know there are a few other threads but I could not quite figure out who in the US has actually got the update and it seems most of the ones I see and look are outside the US and the ones saying they have not got it are in the US. Is there confirmation that people in the US are getting the update? I have tried the reset trick uninstalling android wear and moto connect and clearing Bluetooth but I have had no luck and I see others freaking out about it so I thought if we had a more clear answers Who and where they live that got that update? I know some have said on the wear roll outs it seems to not matter the region but it seems to or at least for US and Non US.
I guess the option "Did not get the 5.0.1 update, do not live in the US" was left out?
I guess I should have added it and i tried to delete the thread to add it. I was making a US thread because I had seen others for other areas so I guess I just didn't think to put it. my bad.
I got the update on Thursday during the day. I am in Florida, bought the watch from Best Buy. I did not need to reset the watch to see the update, but I did upgrade the Android Wear app to the latest version.
I live in AZ and am still anxiously awaiting to see the update. I did get the Android Wear update, but nothing for the watch .
I live in the Boston Mass area and i got the update on like Tuesday.
my real passion is to hack this baby up but i was having a b1tch of a time getting my usb interface i built to work.
Los Angeles, CA
got both the same day on thursday. did not even know there were updates as i dont keep up with these forums. i DID come here once I saw the update to see what it was about....
Well maybe they are doing big cities and moving there way in Ugh I wish they would just get to it or I could get this thing to mount via USB I have never had so much trouble with a cord.
New Jersey, update for android wear on Thursday - No update for my watch yet.
I don't think it has anything to do with cities. It's all about your Google account and what position it's in to receive the update. I'm in Pasadena (literally right next to Los Angeles) and i have yet to receive an update. This is without resetting the watch, or doing any other ridiculous tricks just to get it.

Im in Fall River,MA and i am still waiting for the update. I do have the updated Android Wear app. My girls G watch recieved the update yesterday. and i have reset this mother like fifteen times since my girl got hers, lmao
I got it but I had to force it.
Try this, it has worked for 3 other people.
1: Make sure your Google Play Services and Android Wear apps are updated to the latest versions using apkmirror.com (NOT the play store)
2: Remove BT pairing, "Forget device" from within the Wear app, wipe Wear apps data
3: Reset the watch
4: once booted and paired immediately go to settings/update and check for it. Within the first 3 times it should download it.
Again its not completely proven, but I've seen it work 3 times before including myself.

Clear data from Android wear and Moto connect. Uninstall both apps. Reset Moto 360. Install wear and connect. Pair watch. Check update and should get it.
That's what I did. I'm in Orlando, Florida. Have had the update for about 3days

I did it like 40+ times with no luck so I made a usb cord to mount the watch and forced the update via shell side loading

Like I said before, I did all of that. Twice. Didn't get the update. It still requires some luck apparently.
There is a weird problem that I have been facing after updating to official OxygenOS vs5.0.1 from Nougat through OTA. The phone seems to access Internet by itself.
Before and after every update, I clean Cache for proper installation. However it came to me by surprise when I saw page long Privacy Agreement which says it will access everything in my phone even if you are not part of " User experience program" whether you keep it ON or OFF.
So now the problem is.. every night when i turn off Data and WiFi, the phone seems to somehow access Internet as I see new mails, FB updates, New Whatsapp msgs in Notification every morning. And Toggle and WiFi still OFFFFF !!! After checking the time, updates only between 5AM to 7AM. The phone still access Internet between these hours and this is happening the day I installed OTA 5.0.1 and Agreement which is mandatory to accept. The " User Experience Program" is turned OFF. After this Incident, I have restricted background data for most of the system and user apps. No Special Data access to any application. Still the problem is same. Only the day when I woke up early the other day to check if Data is ON again at 5-6AM. It wasnt and no access that day but other days its same.
Is anyone else experiencing the same?? My phone is not rooted and no bootloader unlocked..!!
This is a serious matter for all Oneplus users as we have bank and personal details in phone. Let me know if anyone else facing this issue.
This only effect those on oem software which I figured most would avoid by now with all the times they have been caught.

Disable Bluetooth and connect watch to 2.4ghz wi-fi. Should work fine afterwards.
Thanks, will remember this in the future.
