Creating a library to send DTMF tone over voice call (PAID) - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

Hello,
I need an expert guru who can create a library able to make an outgoing call in background and after that a function who can send DTMF tone over the voice call (with and without headphones) , this library should be used in a tablet and are for an internal application so we don't need to publish to play store but it is for a business app so the tablet can be also root in the worst case.
e need a expertise in mod or rooting able to modify this part to create this library.
Please PM if you need more info thanks

Assigning different ringtones

I was wondering if anyone knows if the TP2 had the capabilities to have a different ringtone for each person so that when they call AND text it is the same ringtone for that specific contact, instead of defaulting back to the main ringtone for texts. I have tried searching for this on google but I have only found solutions for this problem if I have a blackberry. For example, I would like Song A to play for Person A when they text AND call. I would like Song B to play for Person B when they text AND call. Right now all it will do is to play Song A when Person A calls and Song B when Person B calls. When either Person A or B texts me, it will play Song C. Is there something I am missing on what to do to fix this? Is there a setting I can change or is there a hack that I can use? Any help is appreciated.
PhoneAlarm lets you assign custom tones based on email or SMS subject & sender.
(I'm starting to feel like a shill for PA, but it is the only thing I have to contribute at this point.)
There is no "built-in" method for setting per-person Text ringers. (I used to have this feature on VzW's "The V" a few years back, and haven't seen it built-into a phone since).
As the other poster mentions, there are various applications that can be installed after-the-fact to provide this feature for each contact for text messages.
Definitely need to try PhoneAlarm myself... hadn't seen that one yet.

FREE voice calls on sprint(CDMA) SGT UPDATE: added VID and Refs :D

UPDATE:
Here are some crap videos that show this working using both csip and sipdroid thru bt
BT CALLS
CALL & RECEIVE
SGT Call & Receive
this is directed at the poor souls that had to get cdma sprint tab and wanted phone function...i got phone working on viewsonic gtab easily with no radio, however gtab sucks compared to SGT imho. so i t n e'd much until i found a proper method of execution for cdma sprint SGT.
YOU WILL NEED THE FOLLOWING:
google voice number(free)
ipkall number(free)
gv apk(free)
sipdroid-also sets up pbx for you(free)
FYI
(in order to setup your free ipkall it will ask for a #;this is not a standard #. it will vary depending on service...eg. magnus-200.use sipdroid to autmagically set up for you then just transplant the info properly)
1.)google voice+number and setup account
2.)grab free number from ipkall and reg it with gv
3.)grab sipdroid and let it setup a new pbx for you
4.)set this devce to ring thru gv
5.)open sipdroid app and make dial call...
test on wifi and data
when dialing a number hit enter on kb instead of the #5 for sipdroid dialer, or you will get the "this device cannot make calls error"...i will figure this out and eliminate it, however i dont see it anymore but i need to break thru it.
i have been messing with csip cus i like the dialer alot, however i cant get it to setup right anymore. i can get it to register, but not to call right...but sipdroid works great and i cant complain about free calling from my tab using my gv number
please post finding and results....
thanks

I keep getting could not call. I have the GV app setup to use my SIP account and can see the outbound call attempting to go out.

make sure that:
you are dialing with sip app not gv
(i prefer csipsimple dialer)
ipkall number is registered with google voice
that sipdroid setup ur pbxes proper
after sipdroid sets up ur pbx for you try csisimple as well
(make sure to setup as international carrier/pbxes in account setup and same credentials as sipdroid used for setup)
test using your primary line. since i set this up i do not use my evo very much since the tab is better in every way.phone is not as good of course but tab is not meant to be a phone here so i am happy with what i have accomplished for free. also you will have to adjust latency in settings to improve sound quality to your liking.
Sadly, there is no support for the Bluetooth Headset (with mic) profile on the CDMA GalaxyTab. This will work but you will have to use the built-in mic on the GT for your calls until someone either patches the BT stack or builds a custom rom with full BT profiles.
This is the exact reason I can't wait for custom rom development to begin on the CDMA versions.

MOTO S-9, the newer all black version works too please post results for others.
This works great!!!!!!!~
Care to help me out and get it setup? Once I have an understand of the right way, I could put a guide with pictures to help people.
I've tried this but unfortunately every ipkall phone number i get assigned is apparently already in use in someone elses google voice.
tried call the area codes ipkall provides and repeatedly cancelling and re-creating ipkall accounts in hopes of getting a previously unused number
I am wondering if you could just use a Sipgate number.
I'll try to help with his tomorrow. Magnus walked me though this this afternoon and there were a few hiccups but it's working flawlessly now.

I can make calls but when I call my google voice number back all it does is ring 6-7 times and the go to VM
[email protected] thank you for that. I am guessing the hiccups that you had are the same issues that I had.

getting the same issue.
There is another way to do this, but it isn't as clean. You need to obtain a Sipgate account or any SIP provider that allows free incoming calls. Once you have that, you register it with your google voice account. Then you will need to configure Sipgate with either sipdroid or csip.
To make outbound calls:
On the tab, log into your google voice account. You will then be presented with a web dialer and can select the sipgate account to have the call sent to
Inbound:
will ring your sipgate account

I found out what I was doing incorrectly. Here is a run down that will hopefully help everyone on a way to do this.
Step 1: Download SIPDroid from the Market Place
Step 2: Obtain a google voice account
Step 3: Launch SIPDroid and instruct it to create a PBXes.com account for you with your google voice account information
Step 4: Go to IPKall
Step 5: Go to the settings of SIPDroid and write down the first account information (should be [email protected])
Step 6: On IPKall, put in the XXXX-200 for the sip # and pbxes.com for the sip proxy
Step 7: Register your IPKall number with Google Voice (if gives an error ask it to Verify the information. It will then dial your SIPDroid software and ask for a 2 digit number. It might take a couple of times before it recognizes it.)
Step 8: You are now ready to make calls and receive calls.
There are a couple other options that remove the need for the IPKall, but it requires having multiple SIP accounts setup. I currently have 3 setup on my Tab.
Is there an advantage of using three sip accounts?

[Q] Skype as default dialer

Hi,
I have an evo with DeckRom on it (gingerbread). I'm trying to get skype to be my default dialer, or even better to have it prompt me for what I'd like to use as a dialer (phone or skype).
I can't for the life of me figure this out. Phone doesn't show up under settings-applications-manage-all. I've cleared defaults from gocontacts.
I've tried uninstalling skype, then rebooting the phone and redownloading the app.
Still nothing.
Other thing I might like is the ability to choose google voice to make outgoing calls if that is available.
Thanks in advance.
Bump for this. I'm having the exact same issue on my thunderbolt running stock/rooted debloat. Any help would be great as I'm retiring the thunderbolt and basically turning it intoca glorified pda/voip phone.
Google voice can be set as a default dialer/SMS/voicemail app but Skype I don't believe will set as a default however on decks gb rom in settings under calls you can set up a SIP account for voip calling with no added apps it will use the default dialer to call over ip
When I first installed skype, android gave me the option to choose how to complete the call. I no longer receive that option.

My goal is to either:
1. have the option of using skype, google voice or T mobile when initiating a call from my contacts list
or
2. be able to access and successfully choose a contact from my list when I'm on skype
At some point (I don't know why) my phone stopped giving the choice of using Skype, google voice or TMobile for an outgoing call. I would love to get that back since Skype doesn't allow me to use my phone contact list to make calls. Any ideas on how to achieve my goal?
Please tell me how to have a notification on my email when someone responds to my question.
Thanks

[SOLVED] enabling calling / dialer on A100

I can use my A100 perfectly fine with Sipdroid and my google voice account, however the problem is more or less a convenience issue. Sipdroid doesn't have a good way to view your contacts like in an address book, and it also doesn't dial from the "People" app when you try to place a call using sipdroid. I have had other android devices that the contacts(now People) will allow you to call a person from the internal dialer or a 3rd party one and it automatically forwards the call to sipdroid accordingly. I installed the Dialer One app hoping that it would solve the issue on my A100, and that is when I found out that it didn't work at all with it. I get a message saying "Telephony feature is unavailable on this device" I have had other tablets without telephony capabilities that this app has worked with. I am wondering if there is a simple mod I can do to trick the app into thinking it does have telephony capabilities, or if there is some way I could recompile cm9 to include any missing libraries, system files, apks, etc.. such as the internal dialer. If anyone has got Dialer One to work for them with SipDroid +GV or if you know of an app that works like the default dialer app (that we don't have) then please let me know. I appreciate the help. If I can get this figured out I'll make an attempt at providing a custom ROM with the dialer and telephony features enabled just for people who wish to use Google Voice calling with their tablet. If it is as simple as a build.prop edit then I will add that to my custom build.prop in my thread at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1799148
**Edit: I think I found a solution to get SipDroid to place calls when calling from "People(contacts)" I was looking into the process that takes place when a call is initiated and I seen that we have a Phone.apk in our a100 roms, but the process is nullified so nothing ever takes place when something triggers it.
I had the idea, well what devices that are tegra2 based have ICS and allow phone/voice calling? Motorola Atrix 4g does.. So let me find the Motorola Atrix 4G Phone.apk and replace the one I have in /system/app/ with it. Lo and Behold I can now make calls directly from my contacts!! This fixed it, partially.. What still doesn't work? Dialer One still gives the same error - "Telephony feature is unavailable on this device", but now I don't really need Dialer One anyway since I can just use the builtin contacts through the People app. Another thing thats not really desired, once you make a call you will get a blank window for the Phone app at the bottom of your "history" list (button beside the home on the launcher) I will try to figure out a way to get rid of this annoyance and prevent history from ever showing the Phone app.
If you want to try it your self, here is what to do (you must be root):
If you have Android ICS 4.0.3 or newer Download the Motorola Atrix 4G Phone.apk here. **If you are using HC then you will need the Phone.apk from a Tegra2 device that runs HoneyComb 3.x**
Mount /system writeable
Move the file /system/app/Phone.apk to /system/app/Phone.apk.bak
Put the downloaded Phone.apk in /system/app
Touch the phone number for a contact in your "People" app
Choose to call with SipDroid (or other app in list that accepts the dial function)
Watch the call take place (you may want to try dialing someone you know you isn't going to answer the phone or wonder what you are doing haha)
**Please note that this does not enable the "Call/Dial" app to show up in your applications, it simply allows calls to be passed to a Sip dialer such as SipDroid**
I just got an A100 the other day and installed Talkatone. I thought that it integrated with People like it does on my android phone. After reading your post, I tried it out. Talkatone has the "phone intercept" options but nothing happens when you click on a number in People. However, if you have the "intercept sms" option in Talkatone enabled, clicking on a number in People will start Talkatone for sms. Looks like it is dependent on the phone.apk.
However, for Talkatone, you don't really need the People app. Talkatone displays your "people" in the Contacts tab so it is easy to dial out directly from the app. Overall Talkatone works pretty good with Google Voice on the A100, both sending and receiving calls.

Thanks for the tips, i will check out talkatone, but for now the "People" app works great the way it is suppose to. its always nice to try something different though too! +1
**Edit: I installed talkatone, it works wonderfully well with the Atrix Phone.apk, when you are in the People app, when you click a number to dial, it will prompt you for what you want to use to complete the action, first pick Call(Phone), don't pick Talkatone or SipDroid, then it will prompt you again to complete the action using either Call (Phone) or Talkatone- it should immediately bring up the Talkatone dialer and begin the call. To eliminate these steps, just set the check box to always use the methods on both prompts. First prompt just choose Call/Phone.apk - Second Prompt choose Talkatone. Now when you click a number in People in will automatically call in Talkatone ** Thanks notjustafone for the recommendation of Talkatone!!

Native SIP Client

Has anyone been able to get the native sip client in android to work with FLO for incoming and outgoing calls?
Since the phone apk is not installed, I don't think there is native sip support. Csipsimple it's working perfectly however.
I managed to get it working:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2463150
It can probably be done on the stock ROM as well, hacking the appropriate things in framework-res.apk and adding Phone.apk (may already be there) and Dialer.apk as system apps.

Hi I would like to clarify "working perfectly"
q: Does the 3.5mm audio jack have trrs(tip ring ring sleave)?
a: yes http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2380844&highlight=trrs&page=3
Does csipsimple echo cancellation work?
Using csipsimple can I place a call to a phone number from the native contacts app?
Using csipsimple can I place a call to a contact's phone number from the google equivalent of siri eg: "call joe smith"?
Using csipsimple can I place a call to a contact's phone number using my bluetooth headset eg click the button on the headset and then when prompted say "call joe smith"?
Please Advise,
