I'm stuck. I've got a T mobile Edge +, I've entered an unlock code into the regular S6 by flaishing metro firmware on it. But cannot seem to find Metro firmware for the Edge +. I've also tried entering the code by pulling up 7465625*638 menu, it told me that the unlock was succesful, but when I restart the phone it keeps saying that it is locked. Tried doing that with sim in and out of the phone. Any suggestions?
I don't understand why you need to manually enter the unlock code when I have my phone unlocked I did the permanent unlocked and it was remotely done by t-mobile and free
I'm not with T-mobile so that wouldn't be an option for me
If you're rooted, it's easy.
If you're not. You cannot use an unlock code. It does not exist for the edge+. The ONLY way is thru the Tmobile unlock app (if you're stock like me)

I have searched and searched and can not figure out how to unlock this phone.
I am currently running CM 11 2014 05 04 snapshot
Kernal 3.4.87-cyanogenmod-gf485c9a
Ofcourse Galaxy S3 on AT&T
I have tried the *#197328640# but absolutely nothing happens
I contacted at&t for the unlock code. They send me one, I inserted a tmobile sim, get prompted for the code, put it in and it prompts me again.
In the email from at&t I was warned that if I type the code in 5 times the phone will become permantly locked to at&t so I only did it twice so far.
I have read posts that I need to be on 4.1.1 for the *#190xxxxxxx to work but at the same time I see multiple posts saying that it will brick my phone if I downgrade.
Any help would be VERY appreciated
If you do not have the 4.3 bootloader or newer, you can use Odin to downgrade your ROM to 4.1.1, unlock it, and upgrade.
If you do have the 4.3 or newer bootloader, you must purchase an unlock code. If you purchase an unlock, you will probably have to be running a stock ROM in order to get the prompt to enter your unlock code.
Yup. Flash stock and enter the code from a stock dialer and ut should work.
I already have the code from ATT so I'll flash stock and try that
Thx alot

I have the MSL code but when I put a sim card in for ATT and reset the device it says invalid sim card. I never get an option to enter the code in to unlock the device for another carrier. I am stock firmware not rooted. I actually tried loading ATT stock firmware on to the tablet and that didn't work at all. I can't take it to sprint because the person I bought it from is not in good standing with them.
Any help would be awesome!
I know this is old, but did you ever get your tablet sim unlocked?
I have one I have been trying to get unlocked, using an idoneapps unlocking app to debrand and unlock my tablet. I’ve run the app several times and while it got rid of the sprint branding and boot image, and says sim unlock successful, I keep getting invalid SIM card error.
ive reset network settings, my tablet is stock 4.4.2 firmware and rooted.
Hey guys I was hoping you could help me out. I bought an unlock code for my htc m9 t-mobile variant but It will not let me simply just enter the unlock code. I put an at&t sim card and it took me to this screen (see attachment)
I tried disabling the app, booting in safe mode... nothing works. It doesn't prompt me to enter the unlock code I purchased. It forces me to go through the t-mobile app. Any ideas? Much appreciated!
Yep switch off, remove your sim, insert the sim for the new/different network, reboot and follow instructions very simple
Facing the same issue... Even after switching off, and booting back with a different netwrok's SIM, I'm getting the same response. The LG G2 had a manual way of entering the unlock code by going into service settings screen. Does anything like that exist for HTC?
You have to flash an international based rom, enter the code then flash the T-Mobile rom back.

Yup can confirm you have to flash non T-Mobile rom then you can enter unlock code

If the T-Mobile site says it's blocked, then it is blacklisted. Sorry, it won't work on any network. You need to call T-Mobile and ask why it's blocked.
And the only way to network unlock the T-Mobile S8/+ is with the T-Mobile unlock app. Flashing the unlocked firmware and then entering an unlock code won't work. T-Mobile has to be the one to unlock it, and it has to be initiated through the app.

Sorry but now TMB can be unlocked through reading codes no need for unlock app, plus if the imei is blacklisted @ TMB so it is blocked for TMB only which means if he use AT&T sim after unlock it will definitely work !!!

That's absolutely false. If it's blacklisted through T-Mo, it's blacklisted for all US carriers.
And what's your source saying you can use unlock codes on T-Mo? Because no one here has been able to do that. Many people have lost money buying useless codes for T-Mobile.
I have been trying to unlock a Samsung Galaxy S9 T-Mobile model SM-G960U to use it on local carrier (Ecuador) with no luck (I have use doctorSIM service too)
After booting the phone a got a message:
Security error.
This phone has been flashed with unauthorized software is locked. Call you mobile operator for additional support. Please note that a repair/return for this issue may have additional cost.
Trying to use the T-Mobile device unlock app, then a screen shows up with a message "Your device is network locked at this time, which prevents it from operating with other compatible wireless networks. To inquire about your device's unlock eligibility please continue" but after tapping the Continue button there is not option of permanent unlock, I got a message saying: "Server not responding. Please try again later."
I have trying to install de stock firmware G960USQU7ETG3_G960UOYN7ETG3_TMB (Android 10) downloaded from Frija using the Odin tool, doing a factory reset, wiping the cache, doing a NAND Erase with Odin, but the security error still shows up.
The device is able to browse on websites using Wi-Fi, what should I try next?
paid services are the only way. You won't get help on that here. They employ a different type of lock than most devices.
@OP
I don't know all the ins and outs of tmobile unlocking (not a fan of their service). However, I recently had in hand a paid off s9+ which was still locked. I ran the unlocking app multiple times over the course of a few hours. Each time it came back with an error (unsuccessful or something to that effect) when I tried the permanent unlock. For each attempt the tmo sim with active service was still installed. Eventually it did finally unlock. I'm not sure if a tmobile sim with active service is a necessity. Probably is as it has to authenticate the account for unlock eligibility.
I have a Verizon Samsung Galaxy S9 Sm-g960u and needed to switch to T-mobile. I had no problem switching from one carrier to another because I was told that all Samsung Galaxy S9 devices came factory unlocked. I bought a T-mobile Samsung Galaxy S7 Note from a friend and tried using the T-mobile app to unlock the phone I think there was a problem so he just called T-mobile and explained that he sold his old phone blah blah blah and since he owned it they just unlocked it right over the phone, no problems or issues.
